The interaction with one of the employees was unnecessarily rude and embarrassing, and it left a really bad impression. The steak was supposed to be tender, but it was tough and chewy, and I only received three tiny pieces for a $10 steak add-on. I ordered my meal to go and didn't realize until I got home that my order was incorrect. I specifically ordered it with jollof rice, but I was given plain white rice instead. I tried to give the restaurant a chance to make things right by calling them. Instead of addressing my concerns, I was told they were busy and to call back in a few hours. That was frustrating, especially after spending $40 on a meal and an appetizer. Overall, the small portions, poor quality steak, incorrect order, and lack of immediate customer service made this one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Unfortunately, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this restaurant based on my experience.

We stumbled upon this place and boy am I glad we did because the food was absolutely divine! I had the garnished tilapia with jollof rice and vegetables. Not sure what vegetables I was eating perhaps spinach but they were cooked to perfection. Bae had the garnished goat meat which was so tender and I appreciate the bite sized cuts instead of the chunky portions. I low key wished I had gotten the goat. We ended up getting a side of jollof rice because the goat meat plate did not come with any sides. I will definitely be back if I am on that side of town again. The four stars are because I wish they adjusted the spice levels. I like my food spicy and Bae who is Yoruba's spice level is not for this world! so the food wasn't as spicy to both of us as we would've liked. Service was a little bit slow, but I think it's because they do make the food fresh. Nice clean restaurant great customer service and cannot wait to be back next time I'm in humble

I will probably never try Nigerian food again unfortunately. We were very excited, but as Americans, we feel obligated to let non-nigerians know what to expect. Zero out of ten I'm so sorry.

I shared the fufu with egusi soup with stewed goat added, the Stewed Hen, Moin Moin, & Jollof Rice, and the meat pie with a friend and it was plenty for both of us. The fufu with egusi soup was super delicious with a spicy kick that I loved (7/10) . The plate was the star of the meal. Everything from the stewed hen, to the rice, to the greens were all so well seasoned and I truly enjoyed every bite (8.5/10). The meat pie was also delicious with a savory filling and the pastry was thick and buttery but surprisingly not overbearing considering the pastry to filling ratio (8/10). Overall the food was awesome and seemed quite authentic. Would definitely come back to support this small local business!

When I woke up this morning and checked DoorDash it said that the order was picked up at 7:37pm and my card was charged $60, which is honestly too much for 2 soups and 2 appetizers. Also on top of that the location was sketchy, had no visible signage, and was dirty. Would not recommend this place at all if I could give negative stars I would.

Overall, I found the food to be very flavorful, well seasoned, and unique. My daughter and I actually ended up liking each other's meals more than our own, so we switched plates, which worked out well. We also ordered a few extra items, including wings and yams. The pounded yam was interesting and very different from anything I usually eat. It is probably not something I would go out of my way to order again, but I am glad I tried it and now understand a little better how it is eaten. The one disappointing part of the visit was the ordering experience. The young man who rang us up was polite, but he was unable to make any recommendations. He said he had been working there for about three months and still could not really suggest what to order. For someone like me, who is unfamiliar with this type of food, recommendations would have been very helpful. I would have appreciated some guidance on the most popular dishes, common choices, or what first-time customers usually enjoy. That said, the owner was extremely kind. She came out to our table, spoke with us, and helped explain how to eat some of the food we had ordered. I really appreciated that. She came across as a very sweet person, and based on her hospitality alone, I would come back to support the business. This style of food may not personally be my cup of tea or something I will crave often, but I respect the flavor, the care, and the local business behind it. I would give Bantu House four stars. It could have been closer to 3.5 for me personally, mostly because of the lack of ordering guidance, but the owner's kindness and the quality of the food pushed it to four.

Such a delicious meal in every single bite with each bite being full of moisture and consistency too. The drumsticks had a slightly crispy exterior, really tender flesh, very juicy to almost falling off the bone feel to them. They were cooked thoroughly without being dried or burnt. That spicy, oily red sauce was so aromatic with just enough kick to it. It wasn't creamy, but not too watery either. The Jollof rice was smoky, savory, buttery and a little spicy. The greens had a subtle ingredient in them and complimented the rest with some earthiness, while the plantains were like a mini dessert. The plantains were very good with a really soft, creamy texture, good warmth and natural sweetness. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient. This poultry dish is a real treat every time with every flavor profile in play satisfying multiple pallets.

My waitress informed me they were already out of several menu items which was surprising, given that I was there right at opening. Doesn't the kitchen prepare before service starts? I understand African cuisine isn't for everyone, but that's not why I'm leaving this review. My issue is with the service and the absurd wait time for my food. We placed our order online and arrived about 30 minutes later for pickup. The restaurant was extremely busy with takeout and delivery orders, so we ended up waiting an additional 30 minutes after arriving. The atmosphere was definitely hectic, with staff constantly moving in and out and diners packed throughout the restaurant, but I can confidently say the wait was worth it. My sister and I ordered the half egusi and half efo combo, and it was more than enough food for both of us. This was only my second time trying authentic Nigerian food, and it has quickly become one of my favorite cuisines. I loved the bold blend of spices, the rich and comforting flavors, and the perfect level of heat. The meats could have been cooked a little longer since some pieces were slightly tough and chewy, but the flavor was still incredible. The fufu (pounded yam) was silky smooth and absolutely addictive. It was the perfect vessel for soaking up every bit of the soups. Overall, despite the long wait and chaotic atmosphere, the food completely delivered. If you are looking for flavorful and authentic Nigerian cuisine, this spot is definitely worth trying.
