I door dashed meat pies and plantains. Did not disappoint. It was hot and flavorful. This was my 2nd time eating from there. Next time I'll have to sit inside to experience the atmosphere. Food: 5/5 | Service: 4/5

Authentic Nigerian food. We were recommended this place by one of the hotel staff, and when we checked google reviews; we saw that they are highly recommended so we went ahead to Rodo just as we landed in Houston from Los Angeles. Never seen so many Nigerian restaurants in one town very impressive. So we finally opt for Rodo. Food: 10/10. We had the Amala Abula with Goat meat and Pounded Yam with Egusi soup and assorted meat. Washed down with chilled Malta and bottle water. Everything was delicious. We also got some crunchy chin chin. Authentic taste of Egusi. Service: 10/10 very warm and friendly Nigerian family owned business. Parking: Ample parking Ambiance: Clean, spacious. We walked in and immediately could perceive the nice aroma of the Nigerian food coming from the kitchen. I love the hand washing area very clean and decent. While dinning in, they had numerous orders for pickups, you guys are enjoying here in Houston oo Will definitely be back here. Wishing them all the best.

Be aware, #5 make you think it comes with meat, and they charge you extra without explaining.

Here you can see the difference, the amount is not important but the taking advantage of the customer with the difference in prices is an abuse. Thank you for the $1 refund, but why one has to be checking the bill and saying it is not right.

I have been wanting to try West African food for quite a while and just never found anywhere near…read morewhere I was so when Bantu House showed up on my IG i was like let me try it since it's so close. I canNOT believe what I have been missing!!! I tried the egusi soup with pounded yam and was literally floored by how good it was. I brought some home for my wife and kids and they all loved it. I've been back several times since. Unfortunately I NEVER see anyone in there so I hope they are getting enough service to stick around. I've had their jerk wings as well as their jollif rice and all of it is amazing. The restaurant itself is simple and the staff friendly.

I ordered the egusi soup & okra soup with yam fufu and corn fufu. Very very flavorful! The egusi soup with yam fufu was my favorite. However, when I left the soups sitting out for my partner to try after coming home from work, they both somehow became a bit salty? And he wasn't able to enjoy it like how I did when it was fresh. There's not a lot of African restaurants in Cypress, but this place is definitely worth a try. Still can't get over the texture of fufu! It's so pleasant with the soups.

I have not even eaten here yet and I will tell you ALL to STAY FAR FAR AWAY…read more As in... F. A. R. AFTER SPENDING ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL WEEKEND MOVING OUR THINGS, I AND MY HUSBAND AND MY BROTHER AND HIS FIANCEE WERE EXTREMELY HUNGRY AROUND 8 P.M. AFTER NOT EATING ALL DAY. I go on doordash and see this restaurant. Of course, being Nigerian, we wanted good Nigerian food and there aren't many that are offered on doordash nor did we have the strength to make any NAIJA dishes at 8p.m. at night. So, we ordered our food for dishes... Okra soup, vegetable soup, jollof rice and another okra soup. My order was complete and processed around 8:19 pm. We go drive to get some water to pass the time and an hour had exhausted... Well, an hour and like 5 minutes... WHICH they said my order would be ready at 9:19. A lady calls shouting (Yoruba for whispering) asking if I was who I was and then further proceeded to tell me that our order had not been fulfilled yet... I'm looking puzzled like... What EXACTLY does that mean... And after I asked for clarification she has the AUDACITY to tell me that not only has the order not been fulfilled, the order had not even been MADE yet... As innnnnnnnnnm... Not even MADE. THIS IS OVER AN HOUR LATER AND THE ORDER HAD NOT EVEN BEEN STARTED YET. if you think that didn't have audacity written all over it already... They further had the NERVE to ask me to wait an ADDITIONAL 45 minutes to an HOUR for my order. Now come on... if you know what HUNGER does... Then surely you know what being hangry does to somebody. And I'm the POSTER child of HANGER. P I. S. S. E. D. That word does not even describe the HEAT that was coming from my body. BECAUSE OF THE RED THAT WAS SHOWING IN MY EYES... We opted for some pizza... (even though I'm lactose intolerance and really can't have white bread...) Just so I can have SOMETHING in my belly... I will... I repeat and EMPHATICALLY... I will NEVER order from this restaurant EVER again in LIFE and I will LITERALLY advise ANYONE that I know and love to NEVER do so. (IT'S ONLY AAAAAAAFTERWARDS THAT MY HUSBAND TOLD ME HE TRIED TO ORDER FROM THIS PLACE BEFORE AND IT TOOK THEM 2 HOURS AND 45 MINUTES TO FULFILL HIS ORDER... SMH LIFE!) it's a shame.

I had the jollof Rice, vegetables, plantains, and mixed meat…read more This plate was so fresh... I wish I would have left him a bigger tip..

It had so much flavor in it mmmm! My husband loved his goat meat he didn't leave behind a single thing, cleaned the whole plate...at his fufu and then some of mine. Service/ambiance: They are the sweetest people you'll ever meet. It was obvious we didn't know anything about the menu and several people approached us to help us get something they think we would like. Didn't even feel like we were eating out but instead eating at a friend's or family's house. We went a bit late so I think people were getting off work and it was clear that this place feels like home for everyone because they were coming just to hang out and eat. Such a lovely place and the best fufu I tried (after eating it I tried it at another few spots just for the comparison - no one could compare).

Oooooooh sweet mother of pearl! I stumbled on a gem today! Afrikiko is on fire (though the door was…read moreopen so it was kinda chilly)!!!! From the minute I walked in, I knew that the odds would most likely be in my favor. First of all there are two huge portraits of the female proprietess and her husband flanking the cash register, in full Asante regalia. Which totally made me feel like I was in someone's living room looking at their mantle, versus at a restaurant. But it added a touch of culture and a huge sense of pride. There was a older man waiting for food, staring at the big screen tv, DANCING to the music. This is a great sign! Do you know how good this food is about to be, because I do, if it makes Papa DANCE!!! Oh yeah, I was getting excited. There was a fridge stocked FULL TO THE BRIM and spilling over onto the floor of every soda, both American and African, plus several types of beer. To me this read as "yup, you gone be thirsty after this FIYAHHHHHH"! And they weren't wrong! My food came out piping hot, relatively quickly, and paired with warm water for hand washing! Not every African restaurant is this traditional, so I again, knew it was about to go down!!!!! I would get into a lengthy description of the groundnut soup but that would waste more of your time reading, instead of driving, STRAIGHT TO Afrikiko!!! I will say that the side of spinach that I requested was so smooth and tomatoey and robust with flavor, that I was thoroughly surprised. I was expecting just a side of sautéed spinach, maybe a bit of onion or garlic, but that damn spinach was soooooo good I almost licked the bowl. If I could give 10 stars I would! This place will make me drive from Dallas yall! And you should too! Worth every single penny I spent! Thanks Afrikiko!
