We absolutely love Blockhouse and come here almost every day of the week! Most days we're just grabbing our drinks to go, but today we decided to actually sit down and enjoy our coffee for the first time in a while. It's a small, quaint little coffee shop with a great neighborhood feel. The staff knows us by name, and they even know my wife's usual order and often have the drinks ready for her when she comes in. It's little things like that that make this place feel special. Today we had hot vanilla lattes and they were excellent. We're also big fans of the breakfast tacos and avocado toast -- both are really good. After coming here so often, Blockhouse has definitely become "our" coffee shop. I love the coffee from here and always make it a point to support local when I can. Blockhouse embodies community and embraces the spirit of Fort Bend County. I am a self-proclaimed coffee snob, and I realize today why it's so good.... the reverse osmosis for the water! The baristas are so friendly and helpful. I have NEVER had bad service here. I found this place while visiting the LIT Bookbar that is located next door. I walked in to the cutest little coffee shop. It is small in size but it fits the atmosphere. When I entered there were ladies doing crafts and a lady that was drawing. A young man was studying and there was a free flow of light and space if that makes sense. Ian, the barista, greeted me as I walked to the counter to order my beverage. I let him know it was my first time and that I wanted something cold and refreshing. Ian recommended the golden chamomile blossom, botanical with added honey. It was a great recommendation indeed. They prepare their drinks to order so you are not getting tea or coffee that has been sitting all day. As Ian was waiting for my tea to steep and to savor the flavor, I was able to soak in all that blockhouse had to offer. Ian gave me the quick history of Blockhouse and the building strip. What is so cute is Block house offers a downtown Richmond map that displays a walking tour so you can learn about the city. There is outdoor seating in the front of the shop and there is a deck and a lot of land behind it. The owners have put a playground type structure so families and their pets can enjoy. The atmosphere screams family and community which simply added to the stars. My beverage was just what I needed: cold, natural and refreshing. I will go back if I am in the area and just may do the self-guided walking tour to learn as I sip. Really enjoy going to this little neighborhood coffee shop! My go to order is an iced vanilla latte- love that they make their vanilla syrup in house! The coffees are always perfectly sweetened. I believe they make a few other syrups as well, which is a nice touch! They have a little quiet section for working or studying and the WiFi is great. Haven't had a chance to try the food out yet, but I see many people ordering pastries with their coffees so they must be good. Parking can be a little tough on the weekends, but people are always coming and going, so you're bound to find a spot eventually. :) Check this place out next time you're in the area! read more

The service was fantastic on a rainy Saturday morning! We had a late breakfast and it was still pretty busy, yet the service was top notch! We really enjoyed our time. The matcha lemonade was phenomenal! The only reason for 4 out of 5 stars is due to the food needing just a bit more of seasoning. Couldn't place my finger on it, it was just a bit bland. I really wanted to like this place. They have the right vibe and the service was friendly enough but the coffee disappointed. I ordered 2 large iced mochas with almond milk for myself and my husband and an "adult grilled cheese" that we split. The grilled cheese was delicious - fresh off the panini press. However, the coffee was bitter and warmer than lukewarm (as if the milk had not been kept refrigerated). I had gotten the items to-go and didn't taste them until we were well on our way to our destination for the day or I would have kindly asked for them to have been remade. What's frustrating about the experience is that I've been wanting to try this place for quite some time but it's a bit of a drive out of my way and we just happened to be in the area this day. blockhouse is super clutch, me and my boyfriend come here almost every saturday and sunday. i order a sugar-free vanilla iced latte and it's ACTUALLY delish, the sugar-free syrup doesn't taste weird like it does at other places COUGH COUGH! they have good food options too, we get coffee more than anything else but the few food items i've gotten (bacon egg and cheese croissant & breakfast tacos) are solid, super good. service is super friendly and fast and it's super cute inside. love ittttt read more

Been here a few times now. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They called my order out to let me know it's ready for pick up at the counter. However they noticed that my child was keeping me pretty busy so they brought it over instead. Also, if you are a coffee snob, definitely try their coffee here. It'll make you want to travel for it. This place is located in a small little shopping strip with 4 or 5 other stores and a playground in the back. All 4 of us that order coffee loved what we ordered! I did a vanilla caramel iced latte with 1% milk. Delicious! Not too sweet and the flavor came through. Got a bacon and egg breakfast tacos which comes with 2 but it didn't come with a sauce and not sure if I was suppose to order that separately or if there is a station to pick up. I had my little ones with me so I was too busy to really search or ask and besides as a busy mom, as is usually is good. Haha. The kids shared a bacon and egg croissant which they devoured. They have the cutest little kid section and some bench seating right next to it. I never knew how much I seeked out bench seating until I had kiddos. Lot of toys for the kids like blocks, books, magnetiles... This was a 50 min drive for me but to venture out to another small city and explore was worth the drive. My oldest thought we were in the car for too long and somehow I survived the outting with 2 littles by myself and no stroller/wagon. I was bold. There is a small parking lot in front of the stores and after that it's street parking. We all got there at different times and all of us were able to get parking. I'll give this spot a 3.5 stars. I was in the area and needed some caffeine desperately. This spot had a cute interior and spacious outdoor seating in the back, as well as some outdoor seating in the front. BCK had a decent drink menu and breakfast/menu. I ordered a regular latte with an extra shot of espresso and whole milk, since they didn't have oat milk that day. The only other milk options were 1% milk and almond milk, which I didn't want because both of them taste like water to me. Drinking my latte, it was strong and creamy. However, Starbucks does a better job with this drink, IMO. Plus, SB almost always has oat milk available. I also got their croissant breakfast sandwich. The egg was scrambled and cooked well. The seasoning was good and the bacon was pretty crispy inside. The croissant was quite flat, though. It wasn't a bad sandwich at all. But, it was expensive for what it was. Overall, I still enjoyed my experience here. Next time, I'll have to try out their lunch items when I'm around the area. read more

I really like this place, first, because of the roasted whole bean coffee available. Blockhouse seems to always have recently roasted beans on the shelf although the quantities are small. The coffee drinks are tasty and more importantly consistent for the frequent visitor. Some may be caught off guard by the twenty ounce drinks with four shots of espresso as their standard. The shop is very small so expect to find limited space to stand or sit while waiting for your coffee. Also, parking may require a little luck or look for a spot on the street. The staff is always polite and friendly with at least three people trying to service the line as fast as possible. Overall, Blockhouse is a great place to find a very good coffee in an area that is seriously lacking in options. read more

My husband and i got the Vietnamese ice coffee. Its was awful unfortunately. I had high hopes for this place since its a neighborhood coffee shop! I always love to support local. The coffee was warm. They only gave us 5 ice cubes in our cups. Had to get a cup of just ice just for it to be a cold drink. Now the coffee didn't taste great either. Now for the ambient, it was nice but the bathroom was disgusting. I came here cause it's said to be family friendly. I got two kids and as always one has to use the bathroom. I felt like i was at a gas station bathroom. Sink was gross. The floors too... it smell like a bathroom that needed to be cleaned. Im willing to return and hope for a better outcome! Met a friend here for lunch. It is counter service. The lady at the counter didn't appear to be in a great mood. No smile, not very friendly. I ordered a BLTA with a salad. My friend ordered her food, and then we waited for a while. When your food is ready, they either call out your name or your order, which is a bit disorganized. They called my name, so my friend listened for her name, but it turns out they called her chicken salad sandwich out instead. So I felt that time was wasted from our lunch waiting for food/listening for the order. Second, I felt the size of my sandwich was small compared to the price. My sandwich was not very filling. It didn't have enough bacon in it and only a thin shmear of avocado. It was mostly leaves - baby spinach and mixed greens. Overall, I'm not sure I'll be back. For the price, there are many other coffee shops in the area that provide larger portions. read more

Cute spot in Rosenberg, TX. Great spot if you have kids. They have a spacious seating area in the back with a playground. Inside the coffee shop has a few seating area that can sit about 20 people. Barista was welcoming and greeted with a bright smile. Made my morning a great start. I ordered a flat white with 1 pump sugar-free vanilla and a breakfast taco with bacon. When I got my coffee the design on top was interesting, can't make out what design it's supposed to be. My closest guess angels wings. The coffee tasted toasty chocolate and has a slight bitter taste. It wasn't bad but not my acquiring type of coffee taste. Breakfast taco was good. Great coffee, some pastries, and a tiny wooden playground in the back for those with kiddos. If you are in the Richmond area and like black gold, this is a treasure. On Sunday every other week they showcase some businesses as well for a market of sorts. Employees are always nice, and courteous.
