I have always loved Cracker Barrel. The complimentary biscuits with blackberry jam are worth the visit alone. My service has always been stellar at his this location, even when it's busier times with a bit of wait. My family enjoys browsing around the old country store in the meantime. There's so many items that take you back in time with memories. This go round, I enjoyed the strawberry cheesecake pancakes with bacon, eggs over medium and a side of grits. Crackle Barrel used to that neat little family breakfast with great portions and value. I've now had to experiences in the last 4 months and both fell short. Bathrooms not clean. Was sat but waited 10 minutes for a server. Server only asked if we were ready to order and misunderstood our substitution requests on breakfast items. Sausage grave could not have been 2 ounce and the portion of cheese casserole also was very small. Order extra side of bacon got 1 piece. Eggs both scrambled and over medium with both cold right out of the kitchen. Picture shows 2 pancakes with grandma sampler got one. No drink refills. Was told fairly abruptly pay up front when the check went down. No thanks for visiting... Seems The old country flair is gone now it's just another fairly average breakfast stop. read more

For the record, I'm not a cornbread person and I hate cornbread in general. Yet, Cracker Barrel's cornbread is SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOOD! I had like 4-5 pcs of cornbread before the food was brought to the table and I was full already. Ordered the country fried steak. Been about 2 years since I've been at this location. The steak was more on the cold side of Luke warm. Wasn't hot or anything. Breading had already fully separated from the rubbery "steak". The gravy in the bowl was fully gelatinous and bland. The mashed potatoes weren't anything special, enough salt and pepper and it was edible. Fried okra was about the best thing from the meal. Server only stopped to bring the food and then the check. Cracker Barrel never disappoints. I visited this location for dinner. There is a wide variety of food on the menu. However I tend to order the same thing each time because it's so delicious. The fried shrimp dinner is perfect. The portion size is more than enough. I always enjoy their fried apples which can be paired with the biscuits. The waitress was awesome and she did a great job. I gave this CB five stars on my last review. Today, I struggle to give it two. The server was very sweet and did a great job. The food was inedible. My eggs Benedict was so salty, I couldn't get past two bites. My Mom's chicken fried steak had no flavor and could not be cut with the knife provided. Dairy Queen's awful CFS is sadly much better. We notified the server and she offered to replace the meals, but we know how that works out. I asked that my meal be removed from the bill and it was. A few minutes later, the not very bright manager stopped by to see how our meal was. He obviously forgot the server told him our meals were unacceptable. He actually asked me three times what I meant by inedible because of way too much salt! What? So we just arrived here in Rosenberg and decided to eat here since it was so close to our hotel. The ambiance was a bit country feel with the old nostalgic pictures and trinkets from the past, old pictures and a market of country and throw back candies. The service was excellent. We were seated after a few minutes and attended to in a timely manner with a sweet young man named Jered. After we placed our order he brought us our drinks and corn muffins in orderly fashion, with our dinner soon after. I ordered the chicken pot pie and it was good. A bit blan for me though. I also ordered the friend okra which was delish All in all was a decent place to try. We probably won't be back there during our stay but Jered did give us 5 star service for sure! The biscuits came and they tasted horrible even w butter, even w jelly--just weren't the same as before. Ordered my usual blueberry, pancakes, but again, not as tasty as before, and one pancake not cooked through, doughy & paste. No veterans or senior discount, but did credit $1.97 for the uncooked pancake. Found out at checkout that the family owner has passed away, & the business has been taken over by corporate and everything has changed, including the biscuit recipe! read more

I am extremely disappointed with the lack of support and professionalism from Cracker Barrel regarding a catering order to serve homeless veterans. For over a week, I repeatedly called to finalize the order and address our nonprofit's tax-exempt status, but every time, I was told someone would get back to me--yet no one ever did. Even now, two weeks later, I have yet to receive a single follow-up call or resolution. Because of this, I had to take my business elsewhere to La Madeleine (please go see my positive review and support them), where they not only honored the tax exemption without hesitation but also put together a large catering order in only two days! It's disheartening that Cracker Barrel failed to support the community and our military veterans. Veterans deserve better, and I hope Cracker Barrel reconsiders its approach to customer service and community engagement. read more

A little heads-up in the app would've been sweeter than their blackberry cobbler! It's 2024, folks--surely we can ping a notification when the power is as down as my mood was upon arriving, right? Server Mariah is absolutely awful. Will only come to greet and bring food. We didn't get refills or bread until the food arrived. Which is was burnt and cold. I'm not sure how that works but I ordered breakfast and everything was not hot and dry and burnt. It was awful. The person who you pay with usually asks how things are and they did not. Tips for your staff, be in your section! Don't hide in the back, the company doesn't pay you like the table will. read more

Ive always loved Cracker Barrel but this mornings breakfast was most disappointing. I ordered the Grandma sampler. Eggs were over cooked and scorched, pancakes were tuff and hard on one side not they are greatly reduced in size. The bacon was fatty and undercooked and the hash browns were very salty. You use to provide more leaner cuts of bacon. Needless to say i had to send the pancakes and bacon back for redo. And finally they could never get me hot coffee. It was always lukewarm. I don't know what has happened here... but 10 out of 10 do not recommend anymore. I went there today for breakfast. I was VERY SPECIFICALLY craving their hash brown casserole. 15 minutes after I ordered the old timers with crispy bacon, hash brown casserole, and over medium eggs the server comes and tells me they are out of hash brown casserole. It's 10am.... What? So I reluctantly just order regular hash browns (because at this point I'm STARVING). When I get my plate I gave soggy bacon (ordered extra crispy) and it's no longer the thick yummy bacon it looks like microwaveable bacon, my basic hash browns :( and my eggs with the yolks cooked all the way through and stiff so not over medium. Again it took them 15 minutes just to tell me they were out of hash brown casserole so I just cut my losses and ate what they served. But they've clearly gone downhill for some reason so I won't be returning and neither should you. read more

We came in at 9:30 on a Saturday morning and were seated right away. Normally we are greeted pretty quickly and have coffee ordered with biscuits to snack on while we wait for our orders. Today, though we sat for 20 minutes before we were even acknowledged. I asked a couple of servers if they knew who our server was and they said "they'll check". Finally someone came over and told us that the hostess had sat us in a closed section and that's why no one had served us yet. But if they knew that why did all of the servers just keep walking by us and not even let us know? Or tell the manager or hostess to move us? I spoke to the manager and he tried to explain what happened, but that didn't change the fact we sat for almost 30 minutes before even getting our drinks. The next he could so he said, was to "expedite" our order. lol. That ship had already sailed. And inexplicably, when the food came it was cold! How do you wait for that long for food, have it expedited and then have it served cold? I felt like we were being pranked, but no - just extremely poor service and poor management in trying to make it better. read more

A manager stopped by to tell us the fried chicken would take 20 minutes to cook after already waiting 45 minutes after ordering. Told them I would wait but to bring out the rest of the food for my family. They did but it was all cold and had apparently been sitting back there waiting for them to even begin cooking the chicken. Then tried to bring my sides out with the rest of the meals except my meal, which I sent back wanting them when my meal came out. I ended up getting my meal to go since the kids were restless at this point. I believe they gave me back my original sides that were sent back since they were cold and my chicken was warm when I finally got home to eat my lunch. Menu Online description stipulates 4 COD fillets and pix show normal healthy size fish fillets In store menu now stipulates generic "whitefish" I have had this Menu item before. all four fish fillets appeared to have come from undernourished anorexic fish -- less than 3/16" thick at most. NOt very appetizing nor filling. Only taste came for the Malt vinegar condiment, or Tartar sauce. Seems the biscuits, & corn bread are smaller too ! Shrinkflation in action. Took my 89 yo mom there. I love Cracker Barrel and it is especially liked by seniors because it is a throwback from the past. Food is good and predictable because I go to one near me in Virginia. We ordered the sampler which is a LOT of food. Chicken and dumplings are really good like I remembered as a kid from my grandmother. Greens are good but could have had a bit more flavor. Mac and cheese I would pass on. Runny cheese and bland. Meatloaf is always good and for me brown gravy is a required addition. Bread basket is always refilled and they don't mind if you ask for bread to go. Cracker Barrel has a special place in my heart. If you are into vegan and healthy food you should pass. But the comfort food served here hit the spot. read more

What is usually a very good experience turned out to be very poor! We waited for so long for our food that tables around us were getting up and leaving. There was actually a table across the way from us who was seated 15 minutes after and they got their food a half an hour before us. There was four people at that table and only three hours. When we did get the food it was okay nothing's very special. The waitress was fine and she apologized on a number of occasions but kept coming back and saying it'll be right out it'll be right out and it wasn't right out. Saw a review about their chicken pot pie that was impressive! Went with a friend and I ordered the pie, squash casserole and hash brown casserole! Topped it off with red Roscato wine!! The pot pie was huge and really hot. The squash casserole was outstanding and the hash brown casserole was very good! Great service and it's the first time I was there! I had my boyfriend and dad both try it and they agreed it was unbelievably salty to the point it was inedible. I asked one of the staff members if it was normal and all they said was "no sorry". Well after a long morning at the Dr's office for some test. I took my wife to what use to be a favorite breakfast place for us, but not anymore! Cracker Barrel in Rosenberg has gone down hill and as busy as the were, why? Tuesday at 12:30 in the afternoon was busy with a 15 to 20 minute wait! After finally getting seated he both ordered coffee and I also got orange juice. Well the orange juice was the best part of the meal! The coffee was weak with little to know taste. We ordered our late breakfast early lunch. I got the country steak breakfast with hash brown casserole, 2 eggs over medium and sourdough toast. My wife got the Grandma's breakfast with scrambled eggs, extra crispy bacon, hash brown casserole and blue berry pancakes. My eggs over medium were to say the least warm, sour dough toast was also barely warm. Hash brown casserole was just a little warm too and my country steak was a patty from a frozen meat package that was warm until you put the white cream gravy on it to warm it up! My wife's blue berry pancakes were crispy not fluffy, with little to no taste. Bacon was extra crispy and more like jerky. Her hash brown casserole was only warm too! Scrambled eggs were closer to Luke warm at best. All in all it filled our hungry stomach, but won't be coming back anytime soon! Cracker Barrel you need to get you act together and return to the good old days when you served great food! This is only our opinion and you can try it if you like but we won't recommend it! read more
