Saltgrass stays consistent as a Landry's restaurant and chain. Service at this location was a bit subpar but the food came as expected with cooks on the steaks being correct. The ribeye is cooked decently and seasoned nicely with a medium cook. Their salads aren't bad for chain salads but shouldn't be served on a pre made ice cold plate. The other dishes were also well received and although chain spots are outdated, Saltgrass delivers to the expectation of the chain dining experience. read more

The food is yummy, can't complain about my delicious meal, the kitchen was great! -2 stars is from the bars service, we went in for HH yet the bar staff was already stiff making our experience iffy but our yummy food helped overlook that. Once paying we gave our LC membership card with our bill but the man Santiago didn't even ask if we wanted to use our points nor did he register our membership with our ticket when we gave it to him and ran the payment w/o. We came here after having a poor experience elsewhere. The difference was obvious from the moment we arrived, we were greeted seated and had our drinks served all within a 10min time frame, the server was polite and friendly. Definitely enjoyed the hospitality and atmosphere, I would pick SALTGRASS over LONGHORN any day now! Even though it's a bit more expensive, the quality of food and service makes it 100% worth it. There was no wait when we arrived, which was a pleasant surprise. Our server was on point -- fast, friendly, and incredibly attentive. Drinks were never allowed to drop below halfway, and we never had to ask for anything twice. The food? Always amazing. My wife had the grilled chicken dinner, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I had the Cajun ribeye -- tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. We opted to have the Cajun sauce drizzled over the loaded baked potato instead of the steak, and it was a game changer. The Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts rounded everything out beautifully. I used to like Salt Grass a lot more & then they just started changing things that didn't need to be changed. They once had the best chicken tortilla soup - but it's not what it used to be. That's just the beginning. Although I can't remember all of it now bc we rarely go there anymore. Salt grass in the early to late 2000's was unbeatable. God we spent a lot of money there. I believe tue margaritas are still amazing & the steaks aren't half bad. They know what medium well should be like. I chose this restaurant due to what I read about their commitment to being gluten free as I was just diagnosed with Celiac Disease not too long ago. My husband and I arrived when it wasn't too busy and we were seated right away. I let our waitress know I had a gluten allergy. This place does have a dedicated gluten free menu although the choices are quite limited unfortunately. They do bring out gluten free bread though which was delicious! I ended up ordering the grilled chicken tenders (non-basted) with garlic mashed potatoes and baked potato soup. (I also have active Crohn's so I am very limited to what I can eat right now.) My husband had a burger and fries. We didn't have to wait too long on the food. It was all very delicious especially the baked potato soup. I could have ate more of that! Saltgrass wasn't that pricey either which was good. Our waitress, Mikayla, was super sweet and friendly. She was really good and looked after us. The people that work here really go above and beyond what most servers usually do. The food is always unbelievably tasty. For a chain, this Saltgrass executes food and service pretty well. Wasn't too difficult to get a table on a Saturday night. Waiter was very attentive and kind. The complimentary bread is ok, it's a little denser than other chain restaurant breads. That is certainly not the star of the meal. The house salad veggies are fresh and I liked the ranch dressing. My 8oz top sirloin was cooked nicely and very flavorful, the peppery char on top was very savory. I appreciate how seasoned the meat was. The mashed potatoes with gravy actually exceeded my expectations, super savory and creamy but still maintaining its potato flavor. A meal here will probably be pricier than other options simply because of the steak but I enjoyed my meal and would come back! read more

I ordered small filet cooked medium and asked the server to please make sure it was cooked properly as on my last THREE visits, the steak was rare. She told me that the cook was advised. Steak arrives and was Again bloody rare! The server agrees the steak is nowhere medium, apologizes and has the manager, Veronica stop by. Veronica curtly removed the plate and reported a correctly cooked steak is on the way. About twenty minutes later, Incompetent Veronica appears with an incinerated piece of steak advising that my first steak was in fact medium (never argue with a customer) and acknowledged the replacement steak was well done Why did she serve it if she knew attempt # 2 was also wrong? Hopefully, Landry's will look into why this location fails to attract competent managers. read more

We stopped in for lunch on Sunday afternoon. There wasn't a crowd yet when we arrived. The appetizer steak bites and sauce was good. The flavor was perfect. The grilled asparagus was flavorless and bland. Football games were playing on the tvs, not too loud. The hostess even asked if we had a specific game we wanted to watch during our meal. We were the first family to be seated before 3 other families but no one came to take our order but those 3 families had already gotten their drink orders so my hubby stopped one of waiters and asked if he was our waiter but he shrugged his shoulders and said not sure so I told him that we were seated before those 3 families but no one seemed to notice that we are here so if he could find our server for us. He was willing to take our order instead. We thanked him for that! Our grandson's pasta came with no sauce so we had to wait for our waiter (he was no where to be found for a long time) to show him the pasta. He took it back and about 15 minutes later one of managers brought the pasta back and said "not sure how they forgot to add sauce, haha" but at that time our grandson was starving so he was eating the bread and our food so he ended up not eating his meal. Our waiter never came back to check on us and we had to ask the other waiter for our drink refills. At this point, those 3 families that came after us had left and we were still sitting there and waiting for the check. It took forever to get our check and pay. Warm and cozy interior with Texas decor. Service could be better. The ladies at the front greeted us after they were done laughing and chatting, and my server looked jaded. Food wise, they were ok. The potato soup was creamy and thick. Steaks were cooked to the right temperatures, and burger was good. Today my me and my mom had lunch here and it was right at 12:00 pm so it was kind of busy but nevertheless we were seated right away. My mom is in a wheelchair and they had a very handy ramp available which was great! We had the lunch special which was our plate with two sides so i chose the chicken fried chicken with a house salad and Mac n cheese! We also had the range rattlers which never disappoint either. The service was fast as my order was ready for pick up in 15-20 minutes. The place is a bit dark at times but it has a huge fir place that they light when it is chilly outside. I got.
