Top is a kids/seniors chicken tender meal. $8.49. Bottom steak fingers basket. $12.99

Today was my 1st visit thanks to Yelp. My 94 years young mom lives nearby. This photo seems to have had poor perspective because hers seemed way bigger than mine. There is a 2nd piece of chicken "tenders" on the bottom & it was thicker than the top piece. This is a $8.49 kids/seniors deal! It came with a drink. Mine is a $12.99 steak finger basket. Next time I will ask for no salt on mine. I apparently am salt sensitive. The food was super yummy & was an excellent value. I would love to have a place like this in my gentrified neighborhood. LOG will motivate me to visit my mom more! I'm ready to try a burger & other menu items. Thanks for a great lunch!

The food is amazing. Onion rings are bigger than the burger but not greasy. Idk how they do it.....yummy!! The service is great. Atmosphere since the moment you park, is fun and gives a country vibe. The drinks are very well blended and ohhh yeah you feel it....happy time Highly recommended

First time visit. This was a very busy small restaurant. All of our food selections were good. The chicken fried chicken gravy was very flavorful. The chicken fried chicken was massive. Their side portions are massive. The atmosphere is family friendly. It is seat a seat yourself and serve yourself restaurant. The dining area was very clean. The restrooms were very clean. They did have outdoor seating. We sat inside however.

This place had a big menu, offered alcohol, was family friendly, and had indoor/outdoor seating. You order at the counter and get a buzzer. I got the chicken fried steak (thin and perfectly battered), green beans (lightly seasoned), and mac and cheese (tasteless). The people working here are very friendly. I would come back for the burger (saw a lot of people getting that).

I went on a Sunday. The setup is simple--order first, then find a seat. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't for me. It lacked flavor, and the drinks were pretty weak; honestly, I could have just ordered a slushy and had the same experience. What surprised me most was how packed the place was, so maybe I just ordered the wrong items.

3.5 stars is for the food but I'll bump it to a 4 because the service was very good and welcoming. Every single staff member was very helpful & kind. So the restaurant itself has no frills, it's rustic and has a homey feel to it. Their food feels like it's made from home and with love. Here are some of the items I've ordered. * Chili- we can argue up & down if beans are suppose to be in chili. For me, I don't think beans should be in them and I stand firm on that. Fortunately, they make theirs without beans (thank goodness). It was seasoned nicely, hearty and filling. The meat however was a little dry. Not a bad bowl of chili though. 3/5 * Buffalo wings- good buffalo sauce, but a little overcooked. Ranch was fine. 3/5 * Chili cheese fries- nostalgic. Felt like I was in middle school again. Tasted like your school cafeteria chili cheese fries (not a bad thing though). It was very good and they were not stingy on the chili. 4/5 * Blackened salmon with green beans & collard greens with a side of blackened shrimp- salmon was seasoned & cooked to perfection. It was salty with a hint of lemon. The green beans were boring and not seasoned. I had to doctored it up with salt & pepper. Collard greens were good and they definitely put some thought to it. Greens were vinegary. Shrimp was delicious and had a lot of Cajun seasoning to it. 3.5/5 * Peach cobbler with ice cream- so freaking good. Someone's grandma was in the back making this. The crust was more on the doughy side versus flaky but had good texture. The peach didn't taste like it was canned. You can't go wrong with some blue bell vanilla ice cream. 4.5/5 I got to try my friend pecan crusted chicken and it was pretty good & I also got to try some fried okra. Which I will order the next time I'm there. It was lightly battered & the okra itself looked fresh. It also came out piping hot. Overall, it was solid. Idk why I haven't given this spot a try considering I work 3 minutes from the restaurant. Prices are very reasonable & it matches the quality of the food. Ordering is simple, it's counter service. They give you a buzzer and once your food is ready you'll pick it up at the counter. Will I come back? Oh heck yeah. I hope they add some spaghetti with meat sauce to their menu. It's one of my favorite home comfort food.

Great place for the whole family to grab a meal before a Space Cowboys game! Their menu is pretty extensive but after reading a lot of reviews mentioning burgers I opted for the Diablo burger with side of fries. Great tasting patty with a good amount of kick from the pickled Serrano peppers paired with the Diablo chipotle sauce. I really liked that kids meals came with fruit cup (mandarin oranges), yogurt, or apple sauce. This place has plenty of seatings inside and out. We took a table in the covered dog friendly patio area that was kept at generously cool temps. Beyond the plastic barrier that keeps out the Texas heat you'll find a kids playground and additional tables with umbrellas. Major highlight and props for this place being and encompassing all aspects of family friendly!

Lotsss of options! I feel it was slightly overwhelming but tons of options for everyone. Workers were very friendly and kind during ordering. The portions are huge! 3 people couldn't finish the loaded fries with boneless wings. Lunch time is pretty hectic with lots of people but still able to find a table and it wasn't too loud inside as well. Parking lot is also big so no worries with that!

Back-home style country eatery. Food was good, staff were friendly and I enjoyed having a plethora of sauces/dips to choose from. I'd like to come back on a weekend night during good weather to enjoy the patio.

My steak was black . Could not even eat .They tasted like charcoal, it was a chopped steak that was strategically placed on a baked potato so I could not see it only until I started moving the potato around . Disappointed because I usually have good food there.

Fried Shrimp with fries. Fried Pickles and Chicken fried Chicken.

Again all were good, very nice outdoor seating on a cool night. Very busy, inside and outside made to order but came out Quickly.

Came for lunch because of how many solid reviews there are. It must be more of a local favorite because I totally do not understand the hype surrounding any of the food we had. The menu is extensive, which is always a bit of a red flag in terms of the quality of each dish. We grabbed the steak sandwich, which was essentially a piece of meh steak stuck in a hot dog bun with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and a chipotle sauce. Physically difficult to eat. Every sandwich option comes with mayo, which I would preferred to have a bit more variety. We grabbed the burger, which was really just a fine burger of the quality I probably could've made in someone's back yard. The fries were okay... and the side of green beans was actually surprisingly one of the better aspects of the meal but I suspect the way it's cooked diminishes any health benefits you may expect from choosing this over the fries. Also grabbed a side of the gumbo, which was fine. There is a ton of seating. The outdoor area is actually fairly cute, with 3 separate swing seats and a bunch of picnic tables. It was too windy to open the umbrella (we, as well as many other tables, tried and were promptly told to close them). I think if you work in the area it's probably a fine option for brunch but as we were visiting Houston, it certainly was not worth the drive outside the city to venture to.

What are some of the important details for the TUESDAY Evening Steak special ? what is shown on web site is vague ... imo

16 ounces of juicy rib eye steak cooked to perfection on a open fire. Your choice of sides and soup of the day or a salad!

Are there items on the menu that are both gluten and soy free?

They DO have gluten free hamburger buns!

    Is this place pet friendly?

Yes. You can have your dogs in the front and back patio.

Is this a good venue for large parties of 15-18 or more people? Such as an adult birthday dinner. Or will the space be too cramped?

It will work in door or out door . But you should call the manager to reserve space and tables. The friendly folks there will work with you.

The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming--he thanked nearly every customer he saw multiple times for coming in and even acknowledged the tip that was left, which was such a thoughtful touch. Beyond the outstanding hospitality, the food is exceptional. So far, I've tried three different sandwiches, two pasta dishes, and the triple salad with both egg salad and chicken salad, and every single item has been delicious. It's hard to imagine anything on the menu not being equally good. My only wish is that they offered outdoor seating. I often have my small pup with me and would love the option to sit outside and enjoy a meal there with her. Overall, this place is easily a 10/10. Locally and family owned, we were warmly welcomed upon entering and everyone was so nice and generous with answering questions and providing samples as needed. Various prepped meat skewers were displayed behind the refrigerated counter and ready to be cooked- dishes are made fresh! Loved the variety of the simple menu. You can pick your base, protein, and lastly two sides. We sampled the okra, daal , and Afghan rice- all were delicious! Ordered : Chicken koobideh with daal and fries - delicious seasoned tender chicken atop fragrant Afghan rice. The fries were nice and crisp and drizzled with some of their specialty sauces and the daal, like a soup, was perfecto! Chicken koobideh atop Greek salad without feta. Knowing that I had a slight intolerance to dairy, they offered me a sample of all their sauces. Love!! I dipped my salad and chicken into all of them- garlic, spicy, green. For my sides - daal which they put into a bowl for me so as to not spill into my other items ( very thoughtful!) and eggplant. At the time they were sold out of the popular dish, I was disappointed and I think they couldn't help but notice the expression on my face..... but, as I was trying to figure out my other side, a shipment of eggplant came in! And they made it fresh for me! Sliced, cooked eggplant topped with a homemade tomato sauce. Everything was fabulous- from the moment we walked in, to their delicious healthy/fresh made meals, to their wonderful service and clean environment. Check them out! Military discount offered. Reasonably priced.

I was disappointed to see that they did not have a drink fountain and I had few choices of can soda from a drink cooler. Not a deal breaker but I hate paying for drink at a restaurant and I get a can soda. My food came and looked yummy. I was pleasantly surprised to see the fries topped with sauces. Started with fries and they were nice and jot/crispy. Extra sauces on them made them more flaverful. I took my bite with pita wrap and, man was it yummy. Full of flavor, I think it was lamb or lamb and beef gyro. I don't remember what the guy told me but it was very yummy. It was probably the best gyro/pita wrap that I've ever had. I would definitely come back here again if I am ever on this side of town/state.

My wife and I have been to WC several times before for lunch, happy hour, and dinner but this was our first time for brunch. We had 1pm reservations and the sky looked like it was going to pour down ran any moment. Our hostess was very kind and let us pick the table we wished to sit in order to get a good view of the bar and windows to keep an eye on the weather and the arrival of our family members. Our server, Dane, was in top form and gave us suggestions for a starter. We were torn between the Jalapeno-gouda biscuits, Candied Bacon and other tasty sounding dishes and quickly agreed the Goat Cheese Fondue. The dish arrived shortly after our whole party was seated. Dane had great presentation as he drizzled olive oil over the steamy, bubbling cheese dish that looked amazing, smelled wonderful, and tasted even better. Melted goat goat cheese with a blend of olives, roasted tomatoes, garlic confit and thyme that we generously spread over warm toast points. It was all devoured in no time. Dane returned to clear our plates and took our order. The brunch menu is an exploration in so many things to suit your breakfast or lunch craving. We ordered the Strawberry Short Stack, the Hangover Burger, Brunch Sandwich, and the Steak and Egg Hash. Out of curiosity we also ordered a side of the Green Chile Cheese Grits. My wife and I love to share so the Strawberry Short Stack and Brunch Sandwich were perfect for dividing. Those pancakes are picture perfect, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet. Interestingly, Dane had asked if we wanted the toppings of strawberry compote, vanilla anglaise, whipped strawberry butter, and lemon shortbread crumble on the side so we could control the sweetness. For us that was the perfect suggestion as we were able to individually taste each accoutrement to build our perfect bite. The Brunch Sandwich was fantastic. Sometimes a breakfast sandwich can appear to be unwieldy but in this case it was manageable to cut in half and handle appropriately, The everything bagel was the right vehicle for this savory bite of fried-medium egg, layered with applewood smoked bacon, pickled Fresno peppers (for nice pop of spice), greens, american cheese, and a garlic-basil aioli. I didn't taste the Hangover Burger nor the Steak and Egg Hash, perhaps because I was a bit gorged on the pancakes and sandwich but the dishes looked amazing and I have a mental shortlist for the next time we dine at WC. Oh, and I did mention that we were curious about the Green Chile Cheese Grits. Out of this world! Those grits stole the show. We all kept commenting on them. Get them. You will be rewarded. When we dine we always expect good food. For us, service is the reason to come back. Dane was an outstanding server. He had personality and hospitality which is rare these days. He was conversationally engaging. He never lingered too long, always seemed to anticipate what we might need, politely asking to clear plates. Hat's off to Dane.
