10/10 food. We came in on a weekday at 11am - within 25 minutes, there was lunch rush and immediate restaurant got packed along with parking. You order at the counter and seat yourself. First time here, prices are decent - got 2 burgers and 1 chicken sandwich, shared regular fries and a chili cheese fry. The burger my mom had was a bit salty - it was basically the double patty cheeseburger. The CHICKEN SANDWICH.... i would solely go back just for that sandwich!!!!! it was delicious. It's way better than chick fil a sandwich - the batter of the chicken and the crunch was amazing - tender too. The restaurant probably seats no more than 20 people and parking is tough - probably no more than 6 spots in the parking lot. You can probably park on the side of the road or across the street and walk over though. Restaurant was clean! Service was quick and the people were nice. read more

Chunk's Burger was a hit! Counter service was on point -- 10/10. Had the #2 Bam Burger. Good burger overall, but I was hoping for a little more flavor in the meat itself (salt, pepper, garlic would've taken it up a notch). That said, the bun was excellent and the fries were straight fire . Still a solid stop -- 8/10 for sure! read more

This is a small burger shop with amazing burgers! I thoroughly enjoyed disassembling a Bam burger combo wit' a fried egg added to it. The Bam burger consists of one beef patty, lots of thin sliced bacon, cheese, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo and mustard...adding the fried egg put it even further over the top. The combo comes with some killer french fries and a canned drink with a cup of ice....couldn't do the fries justice 'cause i was too full of Bam burger. My wife enjoyed some chilli fries, the chilli is made in house and it shows, it was very tasty, i got a few bites just so i could review it. Not a very big place but they have big flavor. read more

This burger didn't come to play, easily one of the biggest and juiciest I've had in a long time. And those home cut fries? A1! The parking lot might be small, but I slid right into a spot like it was meant to be. Inside, it's cozy, order at the counter, grab a seat, and they'll bring the food right to you. Service was fast, food came out sizzling hot, and the flavor was flavoring. I got the Ol Tymer, but truthfully, a kid's burger probably would've done the job, this thing was huge. Fries were perfectly seasoned and dangerously addictive. Definitely adding this spot to my burger bookmarks and will be coming back. read more

On this day, I was not feeling like having another fast food chain-like hamburger so I placed a carry out order for a fresh cheeseburger and Chunk's did not disappoint. The service was fast and all of the ingredients were fresh. This place is clearly a small family owned business and they served up my perfect lunch. This is truly a great burger spot. It's convenient because it's behind the house but it's a great place. Small low-key great flavors. I got a bacon cheeseburger and fries and it was great. I found a new burger spot thanks to food reviewer Tamikax. Chunk's Ol timer burger was so good! I got the combo with cheese on my burger, onion rings & a canned soda. That's right, a canned soda! Not that weak fountain drink. It was little more for the onion rings, but it was worth it. Service was fast & the person taking my order was friendly. The hand cut fries off top was good and seasoned well. The burger was huge and and well seasoned and full of flavor, keep napkins on deck. The atmosphere was nice, we got there late but didn't rush us out. I will be back again and I do recommend you visit them as well. I will be back to try more off of there menu read more

Although the parking lot is small, there's street parking. I wouldn't recommend to get there early as it gets busy during the lunch rush. Walking in, there are good amount of tables, well lit, and a fridge towards the back with canned drinks. They've got solid burgers, various toppings to add on, chili cheese fries, hand cut fries, and teas. I had an Ol Tymer with jalapeño, with fries, and a unsweetened Joe's Tea. The tea was good, unsweetened black tea. Food came out within 5-7 minutes, the fries and burger came hot and fresh. The burger was seasoned well, juicy, and was dressed in fresh veggies, on a toasted potato bun. I also tried some chili fries my friend had ordered, they load it up on the seasoned chili and melted cheese, so delicious. I will definitely return, I love supporting locally owned mom and pops, and their food is terrific and doesn't break the bank. read more

Looking for a burger with no thrills and frills? Look no longer, Chunk's got it. With such great reviews, I was excited to eat here but was weary the reviews might be fake. Thankfully, they weren't and this place lives up to the hype. Located off Dulles across from the high school, it's easy to miss Chunk's driving by. But make sure you do stop and check them out, they have one of the best burgers in Houston. I ordered the Ol Tymer, a single 6oz patty with pickles, lettuce, grilled onions and tomato - sans mustard and mayo. The burger is medium rare without asking, juicy and seasoned well. The buns look to be homemade and aren't too bready. Yall when I say the burger is seasoned well, I mean it's I usually need ketchup on my burger. Need, not want. But this one didn't even need ketchup. No condiments period, because the meat itself was so so flavorful. My husband and I shared an order of fries and it was too much even for both of us. I wish the fries were a little crispier, but they were seasoned well. The inside is pretty bare, but they really don't need much. Decorations include a lopsided neon burger sign and honestly, that's all they need. Service is okay - the cashier takes your order without saying much and hands it off to the two magic burger makers in the back. Why 5 stars? Because the burger was basic but delicious. --- --- --- I had a couple of errands in Sugar Land, so I popped open my bookmarks to see what was in the area. The 4.7 rating for Chunk's was too appealing to pass up and that's where I landed. I went with the Bam Burger, sans mustard and tomato. As soon as I took my first bite, I knew a 5-star review was incoming. There's nothing crazy or unique about it - it's simply just a standard burger that's perfectly done. And the fries were excellent - everything I hope for in fries. Thick-cut with plenty of seasoning = the perfect comfort food. The only miss were the cookies. They were essentially Chips A'Hoy re-packaged, and as hard as a rock. But you don't come to Chunk's for the cookies - I just love finishing a meal with something sweet. But they took care of the important parts here and the guy who took my order was super friendly. This is a great neighborhood eatery and I hope the locals continue to support it. read more

Late review: I think Chunk's Burger is a hidden gem. I didn't plan to dine here but saw this restaurant while passing by and decided to stop for lunch. This restaurant was clean, and customer service was great! The burger was delicious but the fries need a little work! I had to deduct 1 star for the fries. The prices are unbelievably inexpensive. I honestly think they should be charging more because it's worth it, well maybe not the fries though . read more

Chunk's Burgers was recommended to me and the person who made the recommendation, swore Chunk's burgers were delicious. Well, I can attest to them having one of the best burgers I have ever had. I knew the burgers were good because wifey gave it a thumbs up. she is a southern gal that really likes her food seasoned well and for her to give it a thumbs up, I knew it was good and once I bit into the burger, I knew she was correct. The seasoning exploded in your mouth and it just lingered there. The service was outstanding and the ambiance was simple but clean. By it being located close by an elementary school/ middle school it's no doubt they have a steady flow of employees coming in to get a burger. In the future, when I'm craving for a good burger, this establishment will be number one on my list. read more

Really excellent burger, but it is quite pricey for just a burger. Still, its high rating is well deserved, you will not be disappointed in the flavor though your wallet might be disappointed in the price. The staff was pretty neutral, neither friendly nor rude. The interior is small but cozy. My only real complaint besides the price is the parking lot. I think it's the hardest parking lot to navigate that I've ever encountered. Probably not their fault, but worth mentioning. Luckily there was plenty of room so I was able to get out and in fairly easily. But if it's crowded you're going to have a lot of trouble. read more

We came here with friends when we were in town with this place advertised as their "favorite burgers In Houston". My husband ordered the Nelly, so I opted for the ol timer with cheese. I did the combo with fries and a can of soda. The burgers are really delicious, the bun is soft but holds together, and they do grilled onions which are soooo good. The Nelly was the best burger stuffed with cheese and grilled onions and peppers on it. The burgers were amazing 5/5 stars. I only did 4 stars because I think $15 for a burger, fries, and a can of coke where you order at a counter/self service is a little steep. Otherwise, this place is amazing! Definitely would come back when in town. read more

We ordered the Ol Tymer burger, onion rings, & home-cut fries. The burger was fantastic. Juicy and well-balanced. The Onion Rings and condiment sauce were wonderful. Our only complaint is the fries. We wished they were a bit more crispy and there was no option to order ranch dressing as a side with the online order. Wow!!!! What a great burger! I had the Bam burger with jalapenos and it was fantastic! The bun is perfect and the burger is thick and juicy. Anyone with old fashioned burger street cred knows that mayo and mustard are the condiment standard, Chunks gets that. I live in The Woodlands and I am jealous of everyone here in the Stafford area that gets to enjoy Chunks on the regular. If you haven't been, do yourself a favor. I love a good burger and I am new to Texas so yelp has been my way to find everything around here. I am so happy I saw this place! I love how homey it is and how everything is house made and made fresh when you order. I have never tried a stuffed burger before, it just seems like a lot. But I was definitely pleasantly surprised! This was the best burger I have had in a while and the home fries were crispy and seasoned. The service was amazing and the girls were so nice. Read no further just go directly to Chunk's burger if your looking for a burger. We stopped in after a track meet at Dulles High School. We had to park across the street, but it was under a shade tree so I didn't mind the walk at all. We ordered our burgers, fries and drinks. I was unsure what I wanted and the staff was able to help me make a choice between the Nelly's Burger and the BAM Burger. I went with the Nelly's burger and was not disappointed. Drinks are can drinks and bottled water. If you drink a lot with your meal you may want to purchase extra drinks up front. I was hoping for some ice tea but that was not an option. Otherwise it was a great experience and the burgers and fries were delicious. The place was clean and staff was friendly. We will definitely be back! read more

Omg I'm so pickey when it comes to food my son as well. But I came across this place on yelp and said let's go try this new burger place. The atmosphere was nice and the owner was as well. I ordered the number 2 and added mushrooms. It was amazing !!! I also ordered chili cheese fries which I never order because I don't care for soggy fries. But the chili was so good it reminded me of tamales and I really enjoyed it. My son ordered the chicken tenders and the crust is so crispy and seasoned perfectly. I tried them and was wowed! My son tasted my burger and I ordered him a kids burger to go because he liked it ! He told me he would give it 100 and 1000 stars lol. (He's 7 years old) ! WORTH IT. MAKE THE STOP. I'm a big burger person and Best Burger and Five guys are my go to places especially when I wake up with a hangover. This is definitely going to be my new go to spot. The Pattie's are nice and smashed. You get two slices of cheese and I personally love the parts that are crispy from the griddle. The fries are nicely seasoned and way better than the Cajun fries at five guys. This place is only about 4 minutes away from my house and I will be coming more often. Glad we decided to try this place out rather than the usuals. read more

In the last month, I've been to this burger joint twice and each experience has made me a bigger fan. The restaurant opened about three months ago and is a rather small eatery in a quaint parking lot that holds about five cars. There is a small shopping center across the street, where I saw other people parking, but I'm not sure if they approve. My favorite burger is the "Ol' Tymer." This burger comes with grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, and mustard. I added cheese, nixed the tomato and mayo, and added home cut fries + a canned soda as a combo for an additional $4. That's a total of $10.95, which is more than a bargain. In the infamous words of Samuel L. Jackson's character, Jules Winnfield (Pulp Fiction), "This IS a tasty burger!" Whatever spices they're adding to the burger patty makes it the host of the flavor party! And that bun? I asked if it was a potato bun, because it had the consistency and yellow hue, and I was told that the buns are freshly made at a local bakery. They have some nice buns! Not to forget the fries. My associates and I contend that there could be more in the basket, but the spices added to them make them nice co-hosts to the burger. There are a couple of menu items that I want to try, but on my next visit my eye is on the Nelly's Burger. This sandwich is made up of a beef patty stuffed with mozzrella-feta-garlic, grilled onions, grilled jalapenos, mayo, and mustard. Can't wait! read more

From the jump, the hostess greeted and seated us quickly, and our server was absolutely fantastic--attentive, friendly, and on point the entire time. We started with Hibiscus Margaritas, quickly upgraded to a pitcher (zero regrets), and jumped into appetizers. The roasted red pepper hummus with parmesan crisps surprised me in the best way--really good. The Brussels sprouts and lettuce wraps were the clear standouts, an easy 10/10 and the main reason I'll be back. Some other apps were hit-or-miss for my taste, but that happens. The vibe was relaxed and clean, with a nice buzz once the Friday after-work crowd rolled in. The manager checked on us multiple times, gifted us their house-made potato chips (Chef's Snacks--crispy and addictive), and even gave us appetizer coupons after hearing we work at a school and were scouting a spot for a happy hour social. That kind of genuine hospitality goes a long way. Solid drinks, strong food highlights, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Lazy Dog definitely earned a return visit.

The main issue came at the end of my meal, when I found a hair in the bottom of my fry basket. That completely ruined my experience. With candied jalapeno, candied bacon, arugula and a fire vinaigrette, this was my favorite burger. The jalapeno was flavored but not spicy. For those who are adverse to heat. The vinaigrette really sets off this burger, on top of the medly of flavors. Cooked to juicy perfection, would 100% get this again. The gal went with the California Burger. Also an excellent choice, but I liked mine more. This one serves up sliced avocado, bacon, tomato, arugula, Swiss, and again, a house vinaigrette. Whoever thought let's make a burger more wet, you were right. That's why we have napkins. Both the truffle fries, and the onion rings sounded good. So we ended up just getting both. The truffle fries had fantastic flavor but it felt like we had the bottom of the bag. All of the fries were very tiny. It's like when you go out for fast food, and it's all the tiny broken pieces at the bottom of your fries. They also come with a nice dipping sauce. Highly recommend. The onion rings were fantastic, I really enjoy how they are battered. I served by themselves, they are delightful. The staff were excellent! They continued to check on everybody and make sure that they had everything they needed, they were busing tables left and right. Very proactive in keeping the place clean and getting seating turned around for the next customer pretty quick. We will definitely be coming back to try more items on their menu. They also have what appears to be an upscale joint next door of the same name with wine. That will also be a place that we'd like to check out in the future. Is it a drive, yes. The fresh house salad was huge with homemade dressings and pickled okra spears included. They also serve lots of burgers and numerous other entrees with lots of side dish options.
