I ordered the Chipotle Steak & Queso Hash: carne asada steak, house-roasted corn and onions, cheese, and black beans over a potato hash, topped with two cage-free eggs, fresh smashed avocado, and lime crema. It came with two wheat-corn tortillas and a side of chipotle queso. Was able to omit the pico due to the cilantro and it still tasted good. I think this was my favorite savory dish I've had from this chain so far. The dish was incredibly flavorful, hearty, and satisfying. We have visited two locations of this restaurant and both times food has been delicious and the vibe of the place was chill and upbeat. Neither place had TVs but had music playing. The drink options are very unique and worth trying. Spiked lavender lemonade was so smooth and yummy, I tried to recreate it and was no where near the same flavor. One time I got the chimichurri steak breakfast bowl, has lots of flavors that mix ver y well together. The other time I got the ham and guyuer sandwich and half a salad. We enjoyed our brunch here! Have been to the Sugar Land location and enjoyed their food as well. This was our first time at the Richmond location and overall felt the level of service and food to be comparable. We waited only a few minutes to be seated mid-morning on a Saturday. The waitress who seated us offered us coffee straight away which was much appreciated! Our orders were taken promptly. We tried their new menu items birria quesadillas, chorizo scramble, and a kids chocolate chip pancake and bacon strips. They have a really great variety on the menu savory and sweet alike so I think it's a good choice for w group brunch! Sure to find something for everyone here. Our food had over a 25 min wait and only 2 items were brought out at first. The waiter forgot the syrup for the pancakes and my birrria quesadilla w eggs took another 10 min to get to the table. The food was overall enjoyable however I felt the hollandaise sauce on my poached eggs over the birria did not complement the quesadillas well. There's almost a sweet taste to it which wasn't my favorite but wasn't bad. Would ask for it without sauce next time. I'd rate the meal a 6/10. The other 2 entrees especially the scramble were much better, bacon extremely salty tho. We paid at the counter and left satisfied. We've been coming to this location since May. We started coming regularly because it had wonderful service and the food was always perfect. However, the last two weeks have been disappointing. The servers are all excellent and at this point are the only reason we continue to come back. The issue we had was with the kids waffle and the Trifecta. The last two visits, the waffles have come out hard and dry. The side of potatoes we used to love have also started to be served under cooked. We love the location and the service but one of the line cooks needs retraining. read more

I was staying in Sugarland and looking for a brunch spot in Houston last-minute on a Sunday afternoon. Spent about 30 minutes searching online and most places had no reservations available or charged to reserve so I decided to try First Watch in Sugarland 5-min from where I was staying. The website showed a 0-min wait time which was fantastic but some online reviews were not very convinced that First Watch was worth the visit. Upon further inspection, the bad reviews were for a Houston location and not about the Sugarland one so me and my friends took a chance on it. Walked-in at 12:45pm. I saw people eating outdoors and indoors with at least 80-90% of tables filled so it was very busy but my table of 3 was still sat immediately! The atmosphere was quiet but lively. The hostess was so sweet and the staff were friendly. Our waiter (Marquees?) was very helpful and accommodated my group with care. After taking our drinks and appetizer orders he had to leave in an emergency but our service was uninterrupted! Our new waiter (Maritza?) maintained the same level of communication and care for the rest of our stay. Our food was served literally within 10 minutes of ordering!!! For shareables we ordered the Gingerbread Spice Donuts and Million-Dollar bacon for the table and both were fantastic! The donuts came out fresh and warm and the flavors worked so well together I almost ordered some to go! TRY THESE WHILE THEY ARE IN SEASON!! The bacon was also well seasoned and well cooked!! The table was in agreement about the shareables being 10/10. Our entrees were also really good--I ordered the Elevated Egg Sandwich. My onlyyyy issue about this is my eggs came served over medium/hard instead of over easy so I got no runny yolk as advertised. But it still was a tasty sandwich with VERY fresh ingredients. I appreciated how fresh everything was. To sum it up: The Sugarland First Watch is definitely worth the visit! Try the Gingerbread Spiced Donuts before they're taken off the menu!! First time coming to first watch! The place was super cute. The staff was super friendly. The waitress was really nice and gave us a run down on the menu. She suggest the most thing ordered was the million dollar bacon. We gave it a try and to be honest I don't think it was a million dollars. It was just bacon with some maple syrup and some pepper on it. Don't get me wrong it was good but I wouldn't go just for that. I also ordered the tri feca which came with some eggs I added a chicken patty which was really good and a chocolate chip pancake! The maple syrup was so much better warmed than the original syrup they bring to the table. It a good place to bring family and friends or even a date. Horrible customer service. When we sat down, no one came to our table, not even to greet us. We waited 20 minutes. Two tables came in after us, and they got greeted and drinks. After that, no one still didn't came, so my daughter and I decided to just leave. No one even acknowledged us. Let me start out the service was great, the location was close to home, but the coffee was terrible, with only Stevia, cane sugar and neither made it better. Couldn't even drink a full cup. So we got grapefruit juice and orange juice. Along with 2 Coke Zero's. My wife ordered a Avocado on toast with crab, with 2 eggs over medium. With a side of fruit. I ordered the Gravy and turkey on a open biscuit. With 2 eggs over medium and skillet potatoes and a side of toast. My wife's breakfast was great, and she would order it again. My eggs and potatoes were great, toast was really good. The turkey gravy over biscuits was a good flavor but very salty! Couldn't even finish it! When we got the bill the coffee that we couldn't drink was on the bill. First we shouldn't been charged for something we couldn't even drink. Second when they ring up everything it rings up as a separate order and subtotaled and tax each order separately. Third, this place isn't cheap! Talk to manager and she took off the coffee. She explained that this is how the company does their print outs to help with the orders going back to the kitchen. The taxes did come out the same if you totaled it all together. But it still looks funny to the normal customer. Biggest reason for not coming back is price! $50+ dollars for breakfast is crazy, no matter how good it is! My wife and I stopped in for brunch on January 6. The service was slooow, wait and kitchen staff both. Took a long time to get a cup of coffee, which was too weak for my taste. I had the combo dish 2 eggs, bacon and pancake. The eggs and bacon were delicious and cooked perfectly. However, the pancake turned mushy when I put the syrup on it. It was too thick. Also, the standard syrup in a special bottle was not the 100% maple kind, not sure what it was since there was no mention of it on the menu. To get a small bottle of 100% maple cost me an additional $1.59. Bottom line: I didn't enjoy this meal. I would not go back and do not recommend it to anyone. The ambiance was ok. read more

First off Darron was amazing. Well attentive and very funny. I travel a lot, previously worked restaurant industry as well. If we had more people like Darron things could be much better in our restaurant industry. We need more servers that are approachable and personable like Darron. Darron understands that his job isn't just about people ordering and bringing food. Darron and his fellow restaurant peers take a-lot of crap from people who are always gonna find a way to be unsatisfied and miserable. But yet they continue to come to work everyday and please everyone as much as they can. People need to understand that the restaurant industry are humans and are need to be treated more like humans. We pay people to rap dumb, no meaning, downgrading/demoralizing lyrics.
