Really good coffee!!

Classic old school Texas breakfast! Place is clean and service is fantastic! Everything on the menu looked great and everyone in here was enjoying their food and great coffee! One of my favorite Houston breakfast places!!

Two egg breakfast with extra crispy hashbrowns. Pretty good and my eggs were cooked perfectly

This place has been in Stafford for quite a long time and this is the first time I've been back as an adult. It still has a good diner ambience and the service was amazing. I got a two egg breakfast, which was just enough plus they have Wi-Fi for the guest so that also was a plus. Not too expensive so I highly recommend

This simple staple invented five star reviews. Friendly staff. Good food. The mood is not romantic, yet I fall in love with my wife just a little bit more every time we walk in that door!! They keep it real. Ima just share a few photos rather than blather on... Pro tip: the hot chocolate is the business!

Old-school charm, breakfast comfort, and generous portions -- Avalon Diner really said "you won't leave hungry." I ordered the Migas with crispy shoestring potatoes, and wow... flavor-packed and that crunch? Unreal. Their house salsa added the perfect kick. My partner got the Grill Cook's Medley, stacked with cheesy hashbrowns, peppers, ham, and topped with perfectly fried eggs. Service was quick, the vibes were classic retro diner (those speckled tabletops took me back), and the menu? Huge. Breakfast all day? Say less. Rating: 9/10 Would I come back? Absolutely -- next time, I'm diving into their challah French toast or a milkshake.

We were in the mood for Diner food. Never came to this place even though it's not far from us, It's a typical diner. The lady who helped us was very nice. She is new. But we think another waitress was going to initially help us, but I don't think that waitress liked me for whatever reason. When she came over she just stared at me without saying anything. I smiled and said Hi. Then she spoke. Not sure what that was about from a service stand point. Just thought I'd share. Our favorite items were the broccoli casserole & the banana caramel French toast. Their fresh lemonade wasn't bad. If you want options and typical diner food, but you aren't in the mood for ihop or dennys, this is actually decent option. We weren't blown away, but we didn't dislike it. They do have some old school Ms pac man and other classic games to play inside.

Great tasting food, small diner vibes, friendly staff. However our service was slow during our visit, that's really the only negative i can give this spot.

Love this place for Breakfast and lunch. The Buffalo tenders were delicious!! The sauce wasn't too vinegar-y, but had a lot of flavor. I like them better than most wing places.

Substandard service. My sister and I took our mother for lunch today. When the waiter came to take our order, my mom told him all she wanted was a chocolate malt and no food. He said they were out of chocolate and she said, a vanilla malt was fine. My sister and I ordered a burger and onion rings to share. The waiter brings the burger and onion rings but doesn't bring her malt, then he just leaves and doesn't return with her malt. I finally see the guy and waved him over and told him that she didn't receive her malt. And he said "Oh you wanted a malt? Vanilla, right?" Then he takes a long time before he even starts to make it and never apologized for the delay. He never came back to see if we needed anything. My sister had to go and request a to-go cup. Then it took a very long time for him to bring the check. I went to pay and stood at the register and no one ever came. I left some cash on the counter with the check and because I didn't get change, the waiter ended up with a 23% tip. The burger was really good. Onion rings were good but kind of Luke warm.

Not to be confused with the songs Avalon by Roxy Music or Tom's Diner by Suzanne Viva-Las-Vega. It's a pretty standard diner located at the massive plaza where we like to go shopping in Stafford which is called The Fountains, just off the south end of the main shopping area, and it doesn't get too busy. It's not rocket science so to speak, but they do pretty good food, chicken fried steaks and such, and it's a lot better than Denny's or IHOP, and the prices are comparable, so I can't really give them less than a four star - especially considering they're a local place. I upped it to 5 because the only time we've been here in the last 2 years, the service was wonderful.

I got the 1938 Original Hamburger w/ Swiss cheese and crispy bacon and it was bomb !! I would highly recommend trying

September 13, 2026 -…read more Oh my Gosh!! Did we make the right choice of a restaurant in Missouri City, TX for our granddaughter's sweet sixteen birthday!! We decided to try Alex's Kitchen as we had never been there! First, you wouldn't know from the outside but it is beautiful and elegant inside. We were so surprised. The owners son, Juan, took care of us that day. He was absolutely a delightful person and he took care of our every need. As you can see in the pictures, the food did not disappoint!! It was delicious!!!!! All of it!!! My mouth is watering just talking about it. If you're looking for someplace to have a celebration or just have a relaxing, comfortable meal, please try this place! I don't think you will regret it!!!!

We had a mini feast lol. Not featured here my husband had the lobster bisque and I had a ceaser salad. Our favorite was the fried quail, while everything else was good. I do believe the risotto could use a little work, there is just not enough flavor there but it's a beautifully plated dish! I cant remember our servers name but he was excellent, very attentive but not too much. We never had to look for him! We have been talking about this place ever since we went! We will be back to try more of the menu items!

Norma was very helpful and accommodating when I asked for honey for my coffee as I do not use sugars. She brought me a small plastic cup with about 2 teaspoons of honey in it. Excellent service Norma, I'll ask for you when I return. I ordered two eggs over medium, bacon, cooked tomato wedges, and half of a waffle. To my surprise the waffle came out with whipped cream, fresh slices of strawberries, and fresh banana slices. The eggs were spot on, medium, just how I like them. The bacon, although thin, was cooked to perfection. Not too crunchy and not too soft. Overall, a great experience. Will definitely be by more often. I encouraged you to join me.

It's a Waffle House, so things are pretty standardized and you know what you're going to get. Unfortunately, the staff turns over frequently so you occasionally end up with cooks who don't know how to cook eggs to order, or more recently waffles that just aren't cooked through enough. The area surrounding the restaurant is a bit weird, with a Wal-Mart next door and a sketchy motel right behind, all of which share a main drive in. It's hardly the type of area that gives you a sense of safety. I've never had any trouble, but it is concerning when reports come from that area like a shootout in the restaurant or sex trafficking bust at the motel.

I hate leaving negative reviews because I'm a big fan of Waffle House, but this location completely…read moredisappointed me. When we arrived, there were only about five customers in the entire restaurant, yet the cook and the server were arguing with each other in front of everyone. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere, and customers shouldn't have to witness employees fighting while they're waiting for service. It took about 8 minutes before our server even came to take our order, and when he finally did, he got it wrong. We ordered a simple breakfast, yet it took over an hour for our food to arrive. To make matters worse, the waffles weren't even served with the meal--we had to wait another 20 minutes for them after we had already finished eating everything else. This was, without a doubt, one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had at a Waffle House. The service was slow, disorganized, and unprofessional from start to finish. I understand that restaurants can have bad days, but with only a handful of customers, there's really no excuse for this level of service. I'm a loyal Waffle House customer and have always enjoyed eating there, but this experience was so disappointing that I won't be returning to this particular location.

Pretty restaurant with good food quality but at its current price points it presents as an upscale facility like its competitor close by Whisky Cake. With a healthy block of restaurants in this area, there's a lot of things you need to do right. Starting at the front door their host the staff was fairly inattentive. We weren't welcomed in or even asked. Had we been at the facility before. Our server was about as indifferent, not asking any of those questions either we saw her three times only. At order, at delivery of food, and at check. Unfortunately, I really can't point out anyone by name because name tags are not utilized here and the server never introduced herself by name. Surprising that the staff is in jeans which I suppose I might get if we're trying to go with the ski lodge theme but it comes across kind of sloppy given you've got a $40 Chilean Seabass on your menu and linen wrapped silverware. Food quality was great. Taste was on point. But beware, you're not gonna get in and out of here for the same price as BJ's or like restaurant concept. Grilled cheese sandwich will set you back $15. Hamburgers are $18 to $20. Table for two and my bill was 50 for lunch before tip. Definite stop for a business lunch.

Great Drinks, Great Food & Even Better Vibes!…read more Sometimes the best experiences are the ones you don't even plan! I decided to stop by Whiskey Cake in Stafford, Texas, to check out their happy hour, and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint! They offer $8 cocktails and appetizers, which is already a win in my book! Espresso Martinis: 5/5 Now y'all know I love a good espresso martini, and baby, these were DELICIOUS! So good that I had TWO! Perfectly made, smooth, and absolutely worth ordering again. And apparently, I wasn't the only one impressed! Once people around me started seeing my martinis, they were like, "Ooooh, that looks good! I want one too!" At that point, I was basically an unofficial brand ambassador! Spinach & Artichoke Dip: 5/5 Rich, creamy, flavorful, and just GOOD! What really stood out to me were the little crispy crackers they served alongside it. I'm so accustomed to spinach and artichoke dip being served with tortilla chips or toasted bread, so this was a nice change! The crackers complemented the dip perfectly, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite! Service: 5/5 Now, let's talk about Gori, my server and bartender! What a sweetheart! The restaurant was SUPER busy, but you would've never known it based on the attention and service he provided. He was kind, personable, patient, and took the time to answer my questions without ever making me feel rushed. And did I mention he made those delicious espresso martinis?! Gori definitely deserves his flowers! Atmosphere & Good Company: 5/5 But what really made this visit special was the PEOPLE! I was sitting at the bar and struck up a lovely conversation with a group of gentlemen enjoying lunch to my right. Then, to my left, I had the pleasure of meeting two of the sweetest ladies, Stephanie and Natalie! Y'all, when I tell you we had such a great time talking! It felt like catching up with girlfriends I'd known for years. We laughed, shared stories, exchanged phone numbers, and hopefully this is the beginning of some new friendships and future outings! And that's what I love about experiences like this. Sometimes you go somewhere just to grab a cocktail and a bite to eat, and you leave with so much more! Overall Experience: 5/5 Great food. Great drinks. Great service. Great atmosphere. And most importantly, GREAT PEOPLE! Whiskey Cake, you understood the assignment! I'll definitely be back, and if you're in the Stafford area looking for a good happy hour spot, I'd absolutely recommend giving them a try! LoveJones Eats | Good Food. Good Drinks. Good Vibes.
