It is visible when you come here that many customers were shaking their heads, constantly checking on their orders looking upset, & you feel that both customers and staff are annoyed. I live in Austin but grew up in Greatwood and was happy to see a cafe finally here. I bring up Austin because in my opinion has some of the best matcha & cafes as I am definitely a matcha connoisseur.
When I came to this one, I was open minded and excited but left disappointed & probably won't be going back.
Atmosphere: Super busy, not enough seating for people. Gets crowded where everyone is weaving through each other and lines build because service is slow. Granted it is busy but what can you expect if you open a cafe at a front entrance of a neighborhood..so I would assume staffing would equate the busy crowd.
Service: Underwhelming and was not really anything amazing. You can tell they are all overwhelmed, can't get orders correct, and look unhappy working there. Sad to see especially because you can see the staff is a younger demographic. & personally, I've worked in the past in restaurants as a server, so I truly hope these employees get paid well for the amount of things they deal with. Just looks bad on management/owners. Do better gang!
Food & Drinks: tbh, probably one of the worst matcha I've ever had, got strawberry matcha and didn't taste any strawberry- just bitter and watered down. Had to go home and dump honey/maple syrup to help it but it was beyond that.
Ordered a butter croissant and that took over 30 mins to come out. The egg and chz croissant was nothing amazing, could have made it better at home.
Overall, my thoughts are if the owners don't get this place figured out, it's going to go down very quickly. I won't be going back unfortunately but I hope it gets better for everyone as they continue their journey. read more
