There are plenty of places that offer Vietnamese coffee, but very few that specialize in it. Rang is a specialty coffee shop that looks like the average Cafe from the outside but offers so much more. It is the only place in Sugar Land of its kind, which is a perfect reason to check it out. The atmosphere is laid back with the kind of chill vibe that anyone in a cafe would particularly enjoy. Usually they have music playing in the background and on a day-to-day basis people lounging around and using the Wi-Fi or playing board games. It all starts with their specialty coffees, the Rang series of Vietnamese coffee brewed drinks. The Rang cafe den da is simply black coffee, but folks who want something a little sweeter should go with their signature Rang cafe sua da. My personal choice typically is the super sua da, which comes with an added punch in addition to the sweetness. Their bac xiu is another specialty drink that is worth everyone's time, and comes heated or iced. Just as their social name (#1) suggests, they serve "phin" caffeinated beverages, in addition to smoothies and a good variety of matcha based drinks. They also have a limited food selection of mainly pastries, which includes croissants and even banh bao. Prices are pretty standard for most drinks, but the food might be a little bit more than what some folks are used to. There are ultra popular Vietnamese coffee places in the Chinatown area, but Rang reigns supreme in Sugar Land. their drinks definitely lean on the sweeter side, but the flavors are great. the ube coco latte was super creamy, and the egg foam coffee was rich and decadent. they also don't skimp on the foam! it's thick, and makes the drinks feel extra indulgent. the colors of their drinks are so pretty as well the coffee itself has a strong kick, so def be prepared for that. overall a solid spot for dessert-like drinks read more

I am not sure what they put in their coffee but it is amazing! I loved all of the different unique options they had. They had 3 separate menus- one with holiday specials, hot/iced drinks, and special unique Vietnamese style coffees and pastries. I tried the iced ube latte with oat milk and it was so flavorful and sweet. The place is cute and spacious. The barista was also nice. This was my 2nd visit after almost one year because I am unfortunately usually not in the Sugar Land / Missouri City area but definitely had to make a stop when I finally was! I came around Wednesday 12 pm and there is a lot of variety sitting options but it was pretty crowded with people working on their laptops. It looked cozy and clean even with a crowd. I usually like to get viet coffee at cafes but decided to go bold and try the lychee matcha. The staff person was kind and informed me she hasn't tried the flavor & took initiative to ask another coworker to share her opinion on the drink to help me decide which I greatly appreciated! I also got the banh bao which I remembered enjoying a lot last visit and a pistachio croissant for my young son. The iced lychee matcha was very refreshing and had a perfectly balance taste of lychee & matcha. Not one flavor overpowered the other which I was worried about with me being new to matcha drinks. I don't typically finish my drink quickly but I enjoyed the whole cup easily. I would definitely get it again. Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy my banh bao because the breading might have been overly warmed up and the bread became very hard to bite in most areas. I thought I had even bitten into the paper. The inside filling was good though but I wish I could have enjoyed everything together especially for the price. Came in on a Monday morning, never had been here before so I was excited to try something new. Parking is pretty easy in a big complex. The ambiance is warm and inviting and the baristas are super friendly. I was a little overwhelmed by the menu cus there's so many options! As a first time customer I wanted a Chai Drink. It came so hot, it burned my tongue. It did not cool down for 30 minutes. Stores that prepare and serve hot liquids should be aware of the temperature. Many lawsuits have been filed because of this. I will not return. read more

Rang coffee has been my go-to study spot in Sugar Land/ Missouri City recently because of their drinks, location, and ambiance. They have plenty of seating and it tends to fill up but people come and go often so it is not too big of a concern. They have 2 big tables, 4 small tables, a couch area, and barstools against a window. They have free wifi, lots of ports, and a water station which is nice for a long study session. For drinks, I usually get the thai milk tea or the thai green milk tea with salt foam. The drinks are creaminess with a strong flavor. They do not get watered down from the ice either! The salt foam is so good and I think I could drink it completely by itself. It is thick and creamy too. My sister also got the kumquat refresher which as it is named, was super refreshing. The flavor tasted fresh and fruity, and did not taste syrupy which I really liked about it. If you order takeout then you will get a plastic cup with a sippy opening and if you order for in store then you will get a glass cup. Highly recommend this staple! read more

Ok literally sitting down to write this review is making me like NEED to go back to Rang because omg that matcha was so good! I went in with low expectations, just wanting to find a place to get some work done and DANG did Rang deliver and then some. I hemmed and hawed over my decision on what to order, but ultimately I went with the drink I had truly never seen anywhere else: The Sunny Matcha Latte. Matcha and mango and milk-- oh my! I've tried a lot of matcha lately and I can pretty confidently say that this was one of the best I've ever had. The mango is sweet but not sickly so and the bitterness of the matcha softens upon mixing, creating a symphony of sweetness, fruitiness, and fullness. I loved it! The atmosphere of the cafe is cute and welcoming. There isn't a ton of seating with tables, so if you're coming to work keep that in mind. But there are plenty of places to sit that would be perfect for chatting with friends or people watching. The menu offers a wide variety of options (including several specialty matcha drinks). The service was swift and they were helpful when I asked about where to return my glass (there is a return bin towards the front). Cute little Vietnamese coffee shop. I remember seeing Rang Coffee on social media and bookmark it in case I was ever in the area. My daughter ordered Iced Ube Coco Latte - iced coconut latte with ube foam and I had the iced rang bac xiu - double shot of espresso, condensed milk. I enjoyed my daughter's drink more since it had more flavor and a hint of sweetness. I wanted to order the regular size au chocolate croissant, but they ran out. The cashier suggested we order the mini croissant since that was all they had available. We ordered two mini croissants, they were just ok, we rather have the regular size croissants. Who said Vietnamese coffee has to come from a traditional phin filter? Yes, they do offer drip coffee, but their "Vietnamese Selection" uses an espresso machine to extract coffee. What makes a Vietnamese coffee then? It's all about the beans and condensed milk. If you are curious, they use beans that are grown, processed, and roasted in Vietnam (fun fact: Vietnam is the 2nd largest coffee exporter in the world, right under Brazil). It's impressive how strong of a coffee you can get here, which can rival or exceed the caffeine level of traditionally made Vietnamese coffee if you wish. For example, their Rang cafe den da has an impressive 4 shots of espresso. I didn't feel like bouncing around the room, so I chose the Rang bac xiu, which only includes 2 shots of espresso, condense milk, and choice of milk. I adjusted the condense milk level to about half, and I think the drink came out great! I liked how they offer fruit smoothies. My little one ordered the strawberry banana one and enjoyed it. Service is friendly. Chatted with Han and the other barista for a bit while ordering and making the coffee. Friendly and down to earth. Han was knowledgeable about coffee and knew how to make a nice heart shaped latte art, which I can totally respect. Nice interior. There were people studying and there were people hanging out. Plenty of seating and good music. Right down the road is another coffee shop called Kohiko. They serve different style coffee, so it's nice to have options around the area. They have a nice clean, large, open space perfect for grabbing a table and studying which a lot of people were doing already. The girls behind the counter were sweet and patient especially with my aunties that were confused and just all over the place. I ordered the Ube Coco Latte (iced coconut latte w/ Ube cold foam | $6.50) and it was a nice subtle taste of coconut and Ube. I tasted more coconut near the end but neither flavor was too strong but I would've loved a stronger Ube taste lol. It mostly tasted like coffee which is the main event anyway. The ube matcha had a pleasant, balanced sweetness, though it's not the highest quality matcha. The ube flavor from the cream was enjoyable. Unfortunately, the Rang salted cold foam was mostly ice--about half the drink was just that. While it was on the sweeter side for my taste, it wasn't excessively so for a Vietnamese coffee. My husband and I came by here for a quick coffee run. The place is open and spacious. This looks like a really good place for studying or remote work. The interior decoration is really cute and hold me and welcoming . There are some Pokémon themed and Lego decoration. I thought it was really cute and gives a nice vibe. The staff were quick to make our drinks. We order dark forest which had blackberry and Rosetta cloud mocha, which had rose. Between the two ice drinks, the blackberry/dark forest one was better tasting. The syrup does get settled at the bottom of the drink so as you have your drink, remember to stir it every once in a while. There's not much of a noise level here and things didn't sound very echo-y as compared to other coffee shops I've been to. This was on a Sunday around noon. The Purple Hippo Matcha is their seasonal blueberry matcha, and while the blueberry flavor was there, the matcha flavor was a bit lacking, so 6/10. Now the most controversial drink, the Pink Coco Matcha. The baristas were so kind and even warned me that the drink was pretty hit or miss for a couple people. I like coconut water so I was pretty confident going into my pick, but I was disappointed because I paid $7-8 ish dollars on a cup of coconut water. Never been here, there's a young lady with a p*ss poor attitude . On a Saturday morning 1/3/26, I would never recommend this place if you never been. I asked genuine questions on her recommendations she mentions for me to read the menu with the stars. Honestly, never had Vietnamese coffee and she had the worst monotone voice with such horrible negative vibes. It would've been a nice experience if she was responsive, nice, and somewhat personable. Vietnamese coffee is usually with robusta beans which can be served with iced and/or condensed milk. With the cafe being named, Rang Coffee, of course I had to get their speciality, Rang cafe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee) and a steamed, banh bao. Banh bao is basically soft, white, steamed fluffy bao with ground meat, egg, Chinese/Vietnamese sausage, sliced mushroom, and onion. Their banh beo is just like how my mom and aunts make it. However, the prices are steep. Got to keep up with business rent, I suppose. Was in the area due to a travel snafu stranding me in Sugar Land and wanted to see what was new since the last time I'd lived here (read... over ten years ago). I was pleasantly surprised to find this place on Yelp, and the unique drink options made me decide to pop in. The decor inside was nice but nothing notable to me. Lots of students studying even during winter break! I tried the sea salt foam coffee, which was pretty tasty! However there was a little too much ice for me, so I have to take a star. First time coming here. Willing to try again. It's in a great location with a lot around and the decor and seating was super nice. My friend and I tried the Berrylicious Mocha and the Dark Forest Mocha. I as well added the chocolate cold foam on them. I am a big fan of raspberry and chocolate together so I thought both were going to be amazing. The dark forest mocha's blackberry syrup in it was disturbing and made us unable to drink it. I don't think I could describe the flavor it had. I'm sorry it was actually that odd that neither of us liked it. The berrylicious mocha's raspberry syrup was not as bad and I think it could really be a flavor some people really enjoy. For us though it still was a bit weird and tasted kinda grassy or something??
