Came back to Baso by Baker's Son in Sugarland and wanted to try something else this time. I got the corned beef pan de sal. It had a hash brown, corned beef, onions, scrambled eggs, and garlic aioli on a toasted pandesal. When I got my order, it had a sunny side egg instead of the scrambled eggs. Wish it was still the scrambled eggs because I remember really liking it when I had their Longanisa burger. The corned beef was pretty solid but yeah the Longanisa burger is a lot better. This has been a spot I've been looking forward to visiting for a while. While I've ordered to-go from here once, this was the first time we've been able to go in-person. Conveniently located immediately to the left side once you enter the doors into Seafood City, you immediately get the sense that you are inside a home, very warm and just homey. The staff here is friendly and the menu has a good variety of snacks, sandwiches/burgers, and drinks. I've really enjoyed the Smash Burger, Fili Bistek Sando, and the Loaded Longanisa Fries. As for drinks, the pumpkin latte was good (might be seasonal) and Mango Graham Cloud are very tasty. I will say the food and drinks here are very rich and you will be (overly) stuffed after you're done. Maybe I'm just too old to be eating this frequently now, but that won't stop me from craving it. I was glad to see how big Seafood City expanded its food area. The Grill City line is often too long and sometimes can be over whelming. The surrounding food has good, if not better options. Baso is definitely a great option to try for small bites and drinks. The Ube Matcha latte was excellent. The leche flan latte was just ok. We have visit Baso a few times over the weekend and throughly enjoy their coffee. Its great to see more Pandan Lattee drinks popping up as a menu item at new coffee shops. My favorite Drinks have been the Ube cream latte and Pandan cream latte. My kid likes to order the Mango Graham cloud. The latte isnt super strong but i would rate is medium. Its not viet coffee strong. We enjoy stopping here when we grocery shopping and if we are in the center. Highly recommend stopping by if youre in the area. The drinks and coffee are worth the stop. I got the Ube Brown Sugar Boba w/ Leche Flan to go and it was sooo good - I can't imagine the amount of sugar in that cup but ignorance is bliss. The boba was soft, the ube flavor was prevalent, and the leche flan added a nice creamy touch. Will definitely come back to try a handful of other menu items I asked for no ice! The menu is really a great fusion of Filipino + American dishes. The langonaisa burger on pandesal for example is a heavy decadent breakfast sandwich. Great if you are really hungry! It's almost big enough to share, because I could only eat 1/2 in this sitting. It was really juicy and I enjoyed it... not something I could have every week. Definitely a "cheat day" kind of event. The mini halohalo was just enough for me to get a quick fix. Truth be told, you can get halohalo at at least 4 different areas of Seafood City, and they are all kind of unique in their own way. This one is cute and great for "on the go." It has red beans in it, with the gelatins, and ube ice cream. No ube halaya btw, if that's what you're looking for. In terms of ambiance, it's not so much a coffee shop vibe since it's not enclosed. I love that it does have coffee drinks, since it's the only area of SFC that does (which is surprising to me, since so many Filipinos drink coffee!). So in terms of that, it's a VERY welcome addition to SFC since it offers something different. I didn't love the sinigang popcorn chicken though. It was a little too over seasoned and even salty for me... I have HBP (like many Filipinos!) and I couldn't finish the dish since I was worried about the salt content. Maybe in they need to tweek the recipe with less sinigang seasoning on the chicken. A little goes a long way. Other than that, I highly recommend a visit to Baso! read more

Run, don't walk to get this incredible ube matcha latte!! I ordered this unsweetened with oat milk, and it was amaaaaaazing. The matcha is high quality, you can watch them whisk it behind the counter with care. The ube has just the right hint of sweetness to it and adds a great creamy texture to the drink. Finally got around to trying this new addition to the re-vamped and expanded Seafood City food court. Everything I have tried in here so far has been a hit, so I expected no less from Baso. I am happy to say that this place has become a new favorite, and I'm already looking forward to the next time I can come back! I came in on a Saturday around 1pm, which is probably one of the busiest times of the week. Even still, the service was friendly and fairly quick. I was also able to easily find a seat. I ordered a Tocino Bacon Egg n' Cheese, fries, and the Ube Halo Halo Soft Serve. The Tocino Bacon Egg n' Cheese was so, so incredible. It was hearty, juicy, and the perfect mix of sweet and savory. And at just $7, I thought it was a great value. The fries were also incredible--cripsy and very flavorful. The Ube Halo Halo soft serve was decadent, and a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, I highly recommend trying Baso by The Baker's Son! read more

It a bit expensive as one Longanisa burger is 11.49 and the fries are extra charge and the drinks are average 6.50 dollars. The burger was delicious and I would still come back to try the other food offering here. The Sinigang popcorn chicken was good as well. Ube matcha latte was refreshing, but the banana cream matcha was a better dessert drink. After you order you give them a name and they will call out the name when your food and drinks are ready. The cafe is well decorate and the seats are comfortable. There is a water station if you want free water. They also have free WiFi for paying customers. read more

This cool, trendy Filipino café is located inside Seafood City, right as you walk in. As the name suggests, it's by the same folks behind The Baker's Son, home to some of the best Filipino bread and pastries in Houston. I really like their modern twist on classic Filipino comfort food. You'll find items like Spamdesal, a chorizo burger, and an ube latte on the menu. We tried the early bird specials - the ube pancake, Spamdesal, and ube latte and everything was great and also only for $5. The pancake was dense in a good way, topped with an ube drizzle that wasn't overly sweet. The Spamdesal was tasty too, served on a larger pandesal bun with egg. And the ube latte was above average compared to others I've tried around town. Overall, a solid experience! It's also pretty cool that this spot is inside Seafood City, though it can be a tough call between eating here or at the rest of the food court. Overall a great addition to the food court. Like my ube looked like it was filled to the top until you turn the drink and saw a smaller layer on that side. My guess is they pour it on side hoping instead out to make it look like a lot? The BASO signature sauce on the burger was so freaking good that we wished we had a side of it just to dip the burger in. The soy sauce and calamansi marinade really flavored the beef in the bistek sando. The seasoned fries were covered in a tangy, citrusy seasoning. I think our least favorite was the banana pudding matcha latte. The pudding itself was delicious, but the matcha latte was rather bland. Inside of the Seafood City supermarket in Sugar Land sits one of the hidden gems of Filipino cuisine in the greater Houston area. Baso by the Baker's Son is the restaurant/coffee and tea concept to their standalone bakery, which is also in the same supermarket. During our visit, we tried the Corned Beef Silog, which is like corn beef hash over rice. We also tried the corned beef pandesal, which had corned beef, scrambled eggs, and a hash brown in between their homemade pandesal (bread). We also tried the Kalye (street) burger which is like a plain hamburger with banana ketchup. It's almost like you can't miss with anything that you order from here. Everything is fresh and their bread is just out of this world. We will come back next time to try some of their coffee and tea offerings. They offer the Filipino specialty of Halo Halo and specialty drinks with Ube, which I'm a sucker for. Make sure after your visit you stop by their bakery and load up on some goodies. read more

Whoa! First time customer and i came specifically fkr a breakfast sandwich; however, I am trying to eat better and i knew the bacon; hashbrown and bread would wreck my diet. I opted for the chicken sis sjg power bowl as a healthier option instead. While waiting, i was beginniing to regret my decision bcuz i wanted to indulge. We had a family late breakfast at Baso by the Baker's son today, and it was amazing! I ordered the Tocino Bacon Egg and Cheese sandwich. Hubby ordered their Dubai waffle, and in my opinion - it is the best waffle I've ever tasted. It's a big waffle, so he couldn't finish it (he had 2 big bites of my sandwich) and by golly - I did! My daughter ordered the Ube pancake. I must say it's the best pancake we've ever tasted! It's a bit pricey - but it's worth it! We all ordered hot drinks which are: Kape Kastila, Flat White Espresso, and Matcha Latte. All of them are very good! On top of that, their staff are courteous and sweet. Another add-on to a more gratifying experience is a visit to their Baker's Son bakery just a few walks away for a more delectable array of goodies. Feeling appreciative, my gracious husband went to the counter and told a staff how wonderful our food and drinks were. He only does that when he's genuinely pleased. I do the customer review.
