I enjoyed an iced honey bee latte (perfectly sweet and smooth!), a breakfast sandwich with sausage (hearty and satisfying), and couldn't resist sampling some of their amazing baked goods. The brown butter coffee cake and almond bar were all rich and flavorful. My nephew enjoyed the pancakes and my sister got the skillet, and both were delicious. There's a huge variety of food and drink options -- from bakery items to breakfast plates to specialty coffee drinks. The staff were friendly, the indoor seating was cozy, and there's a spacious outdoor patio that's perfect for a sunny morning. They also have a drive-thru, which is super convenient, and it's clear this place is a local favorite as we noticed lots of regulars stopping in, which is always a good sign. Cafe Cravings has been an icon in our area my whole life. I remember my grandma taking me there to get an amazingly decadent hot chocolate growing up and their massive cookies. However now that we are older we do pop in for food and family time. On this visit we had a 6 month old with us, and were able to find a nice spot on the patio to be together. We ordered inside at the counter (which is filled with amazing baked goods to choose from) and then were able to enjoy the calm patio space. They have fresh options every day in addition to their usual offerings, and their apple walnut pancakes this day stole the show. It was so so good. We love this little place and supporting local, and will definitely be going back on my next visit in hopes they have those pancakes still! read more

Service was great, love the "serve yourself model" except I didn't love that other patrons can handle all of the silverware . The eggs were perfect! The bit of dill in the hollandaise was delicious! This little place has been on my to go list and it did not disappoint. My spouse and I will have to return because there was so many more things to try. I got the special blueberry French toast bake that was amazing. It's pieces of French toast cut up and mixed with blueberries and baked, topped with whipped cream. Dessert for breakfast at its best. Definitely a breakfast for two. My spouse got the eggs Benedict and it did not disappoint. The English muffin was grilled to perfection and the hollandaise sauce was phenomenal with so much butter. The ham was a good portion as well. As for the service, we got there and there was two people in front of us. We looked at the menu and then ordered right at the counter. The women in the front made our drinks right away. We did have to wait for our food for about 20 minutes, which we didn't mind since we sat outside on the patio with such nice weather. We loved that they had many tables inside and outside to sit. The ambiance is like a nice brunch for any day of the week. It was calm and so nice to dine there. However, many people came after us and they do have a small staff so expect to wait. Which we were fine with because we were not in a rush. A young man and a woman. Coming in, there was five tables open. Walked to the counter, and ordered. Two coffees two bacon and egg plus a French toast., two cookies. The bill came to $49.00 wtf???! When we sat down the tables all were dirty and some of them still had dirty cups from the previous people. Toast was supposed to come with one of the breakfasts. After going up to the counter for the toast we thought they forgot , the woman said, No. you have to ask for it. then two minute after, she came to the table with cold toast saying she was mistaken and put the cold hardly browned toast on the table. See picture. When the food came out. One of the bacon pieces was burnt. The inside is dusty. Lamp shades ect. The French toast was good and the eggs were scrambled. What happened to the cheery staff that used to be here. That's right. I'm sitting in here writing this as I eat. At the price I paid, you would think there was gold flakes in the food. I'm disappointed and won't come back. The lady finally came out and cleared the tables close to me. But didn't wipe them. I even waited to see, if she would wipe the tables before someone else sat down. She did not. Nobody did. Must not have thought they were that dirty. I was disappointed. The mozzerella cheese had an odd taste and quite salty. I left about a third. They need to change brands of cheese. To get the taste out of my mouth I had a delicious amaretto sugar cookie. I tried a broccoli cheese another time and really liked it. It does have an unusual style that I doubt you could replicate at home. Despite the off the beaten path place they have a very nice and sizable patio. I couldn't resist taking home some berry pie. The pies are amazing. They have the old time "ice box" sandwiches and are known for the wild rice soup. I'd like to try lunch here. Cute little cafe in white bear lake. We stopped in here on a rainy Sunday after finding it on Yelp. Glad we stopped in! You order at the cashier at the counter before you sit down here. We decided to get the cafe craving melt which is a hot turkey sandwich with provolone cheese and cranberries and than my boyfriend for the eggs Benedict. Both of them were amazing. My sandwich was very tasty and the eggs Benedict was also great. The sandwich came with kettle chips and the Benedict came with diced potatoes. We also got a regular and turtle mocha to drink. Both were very tasty! Overall super cute place. The food and drinks here were very tasty, and a little on the pricy side, but well worth it. They also have a variety of baked good here. I'm still in shock by my visit. They served me a bowl of their "famous creamy wild rice soup," ICE COLD. It was like a creamy soup popsicle. I walked into a fairly busy cafe. I wasn't sure if I was suppose to seat myself, order at the counter, or wait at the door. Neither of the two people working acknowledged me. I sat at a corner table that was dirty. One worker was running around cleaning tables so I thought she'd notice a couple before me leave, and do a wipe down. Nope. My friend moved the empty mugs to another table. I go to the counter to order and a girl tells me she'll be right back. I wait, and wait, and wait. I almost went and sat back down. Finally 10 minutes later, I order my soup, French toast, and a blt. I asked for two glasses of water. She gives me four tiny glasses of water because they ran out of large glasses. What? My French toast comes first and the girl who drops it off tells me they ran out of soup and need to warm a new batch up. The French toast was suppose to be sprinkled with powdered sugar. I think they forgot it. My pieces of toast were all cooked differently, a couple were well done, which was strange because for how burnt it was it didn't come hot. Drenched in syrup it did the trick though. I'm three quarters of the way done with my French toast when my soup arrives. I take a big spoonful of the cold soup into my mouth and bring it back to the counter. She promptly pops it into their microwave. Pretty terrible, at least don't microwave your food in front of customers. I could buy a can and do that on my own at home, which I'll do instead of come here, and it wouldn't cost me $4.5 for a cup. I was hoping for a better experience regardless of a couple of recent bad reviews. I saw some responses by management on other yelp reviews that were defensive with excuses. Food: My family ordered the stuffed French toast, an order of pancakes, and a breakfast croissant. Two of our orders came incorrect, one missing bacon and one with bacon but not cooked crisp enough (which was requested upon ordering). We were also missing two orders of real maple syrup. Our pancakes had leftover burnt food on them from whatever was grilled before them, and our fruit was not washed. We also got a few coffees, and those were fine. Food and drinks came to $85 Service: When we ordered the staff member had a hard time getting our items entered correctly into her iPad, so I was worried we would have problems with our order. Our orders arrived incorrectly made, so we promptly brought the issues to a staff member. When we did this, staff were not attentive, seemed confused on how to mediate the problems, and then it took so long to get our orders corrected we ended up leaving before getting our food. We waited over 20 minutes for two orders of bacon to be corrected. During this time multiple other guests had complaints with their orders as well. Ambiance: Has potential to be cute and cozy but tables, silverware and cups were noticeably dirty, (food bits on silverware, grease smears, chips in mugs) and the bathroom was also very dirty. Definitely made me question how clean the kitchen and coffee bar were. I am not one to complain but for $85 I expect much better service and food quality. It is described as having a hashbrown crust, but the hashbrowns seemed to be more in the bottom half of the quiche instead of a noticeable crust. I thought it was delicious! Came with a small dollop of sour cream on top and fruit. I also got a giant pumpkin streusel muffin that had a top crunchy with cinnamon and sugar. The perfect "Top of the Muffin- to You!" ;) Had a rich, smooth, dark roast coffee with it that made for the perfect lunch. The décor is cute with seasonal fabric under glass table tops. There are menus you can peruse at your table, but you order and pay at the counter. They have a whole separate gluten free menu that looked as big as their regular menu. That will make many happy! I had heard that Café Cravings had great wild rice soup so we decided to check them out today. As a first-timer, it's a little strange. No one greets you until you actually approach the counter. The menus are on the counter and just as we started to look at one, they took our drink order. I had to ask if we could pay for everything together because we needed a few minutes with the menu. The silverware is by the cash register along with the napkins, but no one tells you that. It's a small enough place that you can figure it out quite quickly but if a customer says it's their first time there, I think they could kind of give out some pointers. I got the creamy wild rice soup in a bread bowl, and my son got eggs, toast, and fruit from the kid's menu. My husband ordered the skillet breakfast which was eggs, sausage, and veggies with a side of toast. The skillet breakfast came out in a worn-out Teflon pan which is kind of cute but it probably should have been cast iron. The veggies in his meal were gigantic and he said it was absolutely delicious - a little greasy, but he loved it. It was a huge portion and he's been raving about their strawberry preserves non stop. Apparently, I really "missed out" by not trying them. The kid's meal was a good size, too, and their grain toast is divine. The wild rice soup, however, totally fell flat for me. I really wanted to like it but I felt like I was eating milky potato soup rather than creamy chicken soup. I love potatoes, don't get me wrong, but there were just too many. The saving grace was the top of the bread bowl. It had been broiled with butter and cheese. It was really good - kind of like a good piece of garlic toast with melted cheese. So good! There are lots of yummy desserts to choose from. We opted for a chocolate chip cookie and a Special K bar. My husband got a coffee to go (he tells me the coffee is fantastic). The Special K bar was huge and super decadent. I was pleasantly surprised by how many tables there were. I thought this was a coffee and sweets shop until not too long ago. The windows are huge so there was beautiful natural lighting coming through. There is also a really nice outdoor patio area with lovely flowers and a cool waterfall fountain. I kind of went back and forth between a three or four star rating. It's not cheap. Between the meal, three drinks (coffee, a bottle of water, and a can of Diet Coke) and two treats, it came to a little over $50. There is no table service and unless you're speaking to someone right at the counter, the staff does not interact with you (but there is a huge tip jar and a big space for tips on the receipt). I didn't like my soup, but it was made well and it was hot (but served on a plate with a huge crack in it). My guys loved what they had. It's clean and it would be a really nice place to come to in the early morning to read the paper, use the free Wi-Fi, and have a nice breakfast. Ordered a case cinnamon roll hoping we could eat that while we waited but they delivered it with all our food, on a plate unheated. It was rather disappointing. The dough was good, but there were hidden raisins and the icing was thin and sickly sweet. The food we ordered was very good though. I had walnut cream cheese stuffed French toast which they genourously dust with cinnamon sugar (no syrup needed!!!). Husband got a breakfast bagel with cheddar. The sandwhich was good but his "fruit cup" was canned fruit with 3 grapes added. He ordered a side of hashbrowns and it was huge and delicious. Proper ketchup hashbrowns. About an inch thick very crispy outside crust, and soft thick potato shreds inside. If this review was only for hashbrowns it would be 5 stars. Seriously. Hashbrowns were the best part of the meal.
