Had they been called lobster sliders I would have expected this. So suggesting a name change. The server said customers say this all the time! So strange! I really enjoyed this seafood spot on my first visit, although some of my family's been coming here for years now. The ambience is classy but relaxed, pretty hip but also professional. We started off with a bevy of apps including the crispy lobster rolls, pimento cheese toast, and my personal favorite, the Jackson Hot Catfish (pictured). The food might be decent, but it's completely overshadowed by the unprofessional and downright hostile behavior of the owner Jennifer Emerson. She yelled at her staff in front of customers, belittling them loudly across the dining area. No employee deserves to be treated that way especially not in front of a full room of patrons. We visited on a Tuesday night. We started with fried crab claws and oysters which were great. My shaved brussel sprouts salad had nice crunches of marcona almonds and dried cherries. My fiancé's Scallop dish had great flavors, however the risotto was slightly undercooked.. Night took a turn when our waitress mistakenly thought we ordered two desserts and proceeded to tell my fiancé, "But you ordered this!" Then she abruptly left ...and returned a minute later all happy and oddly bubbly saying she got permission from her manager...to take the extra dessert away. The cake for two was absolutely delicious, rich and moist. However, the night felt RUINED after the extremely awkward encounter with our waitress. She was very inexperienced. A very nice atmosphere. Masks are required however, some of the guests waiting inside weren't abiding by the rules. We had a reservation and didn't have to wait in the lobby area. They have a large list of wines but I decided on one of their specialty cocktails. I had the Casablanca which was awesome. I really liked the orange flavor. My husband had the basic tequila and ginger ale which he said was mixed well. We started with the Oyster Rockefeller and the wedge salad which were good. The blue cheese was sweeter than I would've wanted as I like the sharpness of blue cheese but my husband and daughter loved it that way. The bacon was nice and crunchy. It also had some pickled onions which was a nice touch. My daughter had the gumbo which she said was quite good. My husband and I had the redfish which was cooked well. It came with green beans and mashed potatoes. The potatoes were creamy and tasty. My daughter had the flounder which was very good as well. Both fish were cooked and seasoned to perfection. For dessert we had the bread pudding which was divine. The caramel sauce was good and the pudding had a crunch and it wasn't overly sweet as many bread pudding could get. The texture was perfect. They have multiple seating options (candle light in the rear for date night, open area by the windows for family, and a bar area (10/10). We were promptly seated and our waiter was amazing. He offered several recommendations (10/10). We opted for fried lobster rolls as an appetizer. They were lightly breaded and fried to perfection (10/10). Our waiter constantly checked to see if we were okay. I ordered the charbroiled oyster sampler. They were very flavorful (10/10). My wife had a salad with shrimp and some type of vinaigrette dressing (10/10). First time for Friday evening dinner at Caet. I had the 10 oz filet, my wife had redfish Anna. Steak was well cooked, tender and full of flavor, potato mash was full of flavor and large chunks of bacon, asparagus was perfectly cooked. My wife's redfish was well prepared and tasty on top of a garlic potato mash that she loved. Our server Adele was helpful and attentive without hovering. We also tried appetizers, small charcuterie board (very good), Murder Pointe raw oysters ( very tasty,if a little on the small side). The meal was well presented, attractive and hot. My wife tried the Crème brûlée and said it was extremely good. Meal was a little on the pricey side but well worth it to us. The Mississippi Bail Agents Association and Ms Prosecutors Association hosted a legislative thank you dinner here. My first time going. Every detail was perfect for our group. Cocktails were served promptly, and accurately. The appetizers served were fresh, extremely popular, as our guest left none when the plates were taken away. Our meals were served also very timely for such a large group. Food temperatures were also proper and at temperature. The meal itself was equally delicious and very satisfying. As a host of an event, we pay attention to how well our guests finish their meals. Ending the meal with a variety of desert options made for an excellent event. Management and the server staff assigned to us were absolutely perfect. I could not have asked for anything more perfect. I look forward to returning for date night. We celebrated my birthday at Caet this week. It's one of our go to restaurants for special occasions. Reservations are recommended. We arrived a little early and we were promptly seated. Ordered cocktails and wine and studied the menu. I'm not sure why because I'd already decided to try the Hanger Steak because it looked so good the last time we were there. I ordered mine medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. I don't know what the sauce is but it compliments both the beef and potatoes. The portion was generous and I had the leftovers for lunch the next day and it was still delicious reheated. Previously we've tried the Red fish Ana, and the flounder entrees and they were both delicious. I've gotten a half Caet salad and it was enough for two. The only things I've ordered and not loved were the giant onion rings, they are giant thick sliced not giant big around and the black rice. Nothing was wrong with the dishes, just my personal preference. The last two times we've been we were seated in the dining room to the right of the entrance. It's not a crowded area and we think it'd be a great location for a private party. Table sizes are for two to about 10 diners. I can't wait for the next opportunity to celebrate at Caet! read more

This is our absolute favorite restaurant. We have never tried anything that wasn't great. From the oysters to the steak and all in between. Redfish Anna is always a hit and the Jackson Hot Catfish is a must every visit. By far the best restaurant in the Jackson area and is worth an hour drive at minimum. The ambience is very nice and has a wonderful atmosphere with a wonderful wait staff. More times than not the staff is impeccable. Last but not least the bar is fantastic and Caet has some wonderful cocktails to meet basically anyone's taste. Cheers everyone and enjoy a wonderful meal. P.S. Honestly, best service I've received and I have been to an abundant amount of fine dining restaurants in my life. Highlights: Soft shell crabs were a nice medium size and serviced with a creamy butter sauce. Ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium. I could tell it was premium quality. However, the shaved Brussels sprouts that comes with the ribeye were overwhelmingly salty. The sea bass with the curry and risotto was spectacular. It is something that should be permanent on the menu. Now the dessert! Homemade cookies and cream ice cream... I need a pint to take home. Reese's peanut butter pie was very decadent and rich. We booked the Chef's Dining Room for a private party of twelve this past Saturday and couldn't be happier with our experience. The room itself has a round table and that made it nice to be able to talk to everyone in the group. The room does have a door, so we were not disturbed/ did not disturb others in the dining room. The food was excellent. We ordered several appetizers and everyone raved about the Pimento Cheese Toast. Most folks got a half wedge salad and were pleased with it. Members of the group ordered steaks, seafood, and burgers and everyone enjoyed their meal. Food was served in a timely fashion and everything was delicious. Most of the group got desert and we enjoyed the Strawberries & Cream Blondie, Carmel Tart, and the chocolate cake. Our server, Alex, and the other staff that assisted him did a wonderful job in making sure we were taken care of and provided excellent service. They were there when we needed them, but did not intrude on our celebration. This was our first dinner at CAET and it will not be our last. We dined there last night for Valentines dinner. Our server was very nice and efficient. However, the servers that delivered meal were almost slinging the plates on the table. We usually like to linger over each course, but felt quite rushed to order and felt like we were being pushed. We had a very early reservation so there was plenty of time to turn the table. The oysters were fresh and very clean. My husband ordered scallops on risotto and it was very flavorful. I had shrimp and grits that were above average. The cauliflower with grilled feta cheese was AMAZING and could be a whole meal by itself. Our mixed drinks were okay, but nothing special. Coffee was excellent and HOT! The bread pudding was very dense and the chocolate cake was enough for four to share. Our tab for 3 apps, 5 entrees, 2 desserts, 2 coffees and 7 mixed drinks was almost $500. Was sat in about 5 mins of out actually reso time. The place is large with a open kitchen concept right outside of the main dining area. Large bar that I would love to tackle on another visit. Wine cellar that is beautiful. Now to the food/service: We had the shaved Brussels salad, crab claws and oysters for apps. The salad was great! I would recommend it and I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it would be even better with some protein on top, but definitely doesn't need it. The crab claws were a bit skimpy. Taste was good but wasn't a lot of meat on them. My main dish was excellent. The grouper with lobster risotto hit the spot. Everything was cooked to perfection. The flavor was spot on. My co-worker also enjoyed her redfish dish. The lamp Chops for a just ok for the price. Our sever was just ok but I did witness some excellent service from other waiters. This place was crazy busy - on a Tuesday night. So first, I recommend getting reservations. And second, it was hopping because the food was phenomenal. We started with the small charcuterie board - delicious! Second course, we shared the mussels - yummm. For our entrees, we both had red fish. I had the red fish Anna; he had the red fish with lemon butter sauce and a side of Brussels sprouts. Both our entrees were absolutely incredible! They were cooked perfectly and a healthy portion size. The manager, Ashley, brought out two desserts - although we only requested one. She was cheerful and informative. The only issue with service was that my date did not get a second drink he requested. Not a great miss, but otherwise the service was spot on. Ok. This is a criticism that needs to be made. Caet is really a 5 star restaurant particularly for this area. Great service, mostly great food and semi-reasonable. I've dined here several times over the last year. Last night I decided to get their shrimp and grits. This is weird because with all the other options this would not normally have been my first choice but being from the south both the shrimp and the grits are staples and I have for some reason or other used this dish to "judge" a restaurant. Particularly one that more or less specializes in seafood. In other words I've eaten a lot of shrimp/grits. Over the years I've had a couple of outstanding ones, a lot of just mediocre ones and a few bad ones. Caet's falls somewhere between mediocre and bad. A super watery sauce, overcooked and tough shrimp and grits that were by themselves really good but ruined with the watery sauce. Now, this was my only time to get this dish here and it may have been a fluke but just beware. As the old saying goes, one oops overrides ten ataboys. And that's really true when you drop several hundred dollars for a table of 6 eating supper. read more
