Came for my nieces birthday! We had one of the private rooms in the back. This place gives old money fancy steakhouse charm which I love!!! Pictures of all the famous people who have been there in the front, big taxidermy animals everywhere else. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and they loved the mushrooms. Overall 3.75 Stars After a long flight, I was ravish for some food, so we stopped at Tico's Steakhouse for dinner. This was the first time we ate here. Because it was a Saturday night at 7:30, the wait was an hour for a table however they were able to seat us in the bar section with about 5 tables ranging from 4-8 seats per table and several bar stools. We were fortunate to be seated at a table in the bar area. The building and atmosphere is more cabin rustic feeling with lots of memorabilia hanging on the walls and the light was very dim in the bar section. We had a small candle on a white table cloth table for our mood lighting. A little bit harder to view the menu so bring your phone for additional lighting. The open section of the steakhouse has more lighting. Also, the main area is quite large which can seat many people at a time however it will be quite loud when busy. Our server had double duty as the Main Bartender and Server for all clients in the bar area. With that said, our service was somewhat spotty. Had to be patient when ordering, receiving drinks and the entrees being served. Our drinks, wine and water, was served 15 minutes, bread - 5 minutes afterwards, salad 10 minutes, then the entrees were close to 45 minutes after the salad was served. She was very busy with one additional helper with all the tables in the bar area. Server: 3.75 Stars - both she and the other person moved quickly and efficiently but with having only two people in the busy area they did the best they could. With that said, they were pleasant, friendly and professional. Food: 4 Stars All the food is à la carte. We ordered the Filet Mignon (12-14 ounce), one side of baked potato and garden salad for our meals. 4 Stars : the salad was a mixed garden salad and was plentiful, served with blue cheese - on the side". 3.5 Stars: Though the baked potato was large and shareable, it lacked flavor to it. It was topped with bacon bits, shredded cheese and sour cream automatically. So if you don't like all the toppings, make sure the server is aware. I believe a TRUE baked Potato is potato without Tin Foil. To me, if it is wrapped then the potato is steamed in the tinfoil. What do you think? 4.25 Stars: Filet Mignon The tenderloin was large, charred, and tender. It has a little bit of salt and pepper as the seasoning. You can truly taste the meat. We enjoyed it. 3 Stars: Price - The Steakhouse is pricey for the meal. Especially with the items as an à la carte option. Our meal was close to $200, not including the tip for 2 people. So, if we come again, I personally would come for special occasions such as winning the "lotto", anniversary or job promotion. read more

Tico's is a truly fine steakhouse. Food is high end, well prepared and well proportioned. The restaurant is clean and roomy with plenty of tables. Large enough to accommodate numerous parties. Service is excellent, attentive but don't hover. It's a bit pricey but competitive with their steakhouse competition in the area. Plenty of parking just off County Line Rd. Made reservations at Tico's a month ago for Valentine's Day dinner. Confirmed reservation at 4:30 and was told that we may have to wait 15 or 20 minutes for a table when we showed up, no problem. We show up for our reservation about 5 minutes early and go to the hostess stand to check in. We were told there would be an hour and a half wait because of walk in customers. I am not sure what the point of reservations are if you still have to wait for an extended period of time. I have been eating at Tico's since they opened and have never seen them have such poor planning. To top it off, the host was very rude and basically acted like it was our problem that we had to wait. read more

We booked the large room off the main dining room for a private event over 6 weeks in advance. Communicated with Jack Hoffman and Cameron the GM. We were told on the Monday before our event that Tico Hoffman decided to book a larger party in that room and we were moved, without communication to the smaller room, which would not work for our party. Cameron explained that we didn't have a contract to hold that room and that was his justification. Funny, I asked if we needed a contract when we had our first meeting. Thankfully Shapley's was able to accommodate us and our party of 18. My suggestion, move on from Ticos. They are not an upstanding establishment. Very disappointing. This review could be taken as extremely picky or having unrealistic expectations - it is truly insane how horrible the food was, especially for the price. My husband's birthday was this past Sunday - so we went to Ticos with a good friend to celebrate. It took about 10 minutes at the hostess stand to be greeted. Once we were seated, we asked for a cocktail menu - they don't have one, but they do have wine list. We started with the cheese sticks. It took around 45 minutes to get them. They were pale, cold, and tasted very unremarkable. Like the ones you would get in a high school cafeteria. I order the blackened pork chop with sautéed mushrooms. My husband ordered the large filet cooked medium with a loaded baked potato. Our friend ordered the blackened pork chop with broccoli au gratin. A picture of my pork chop and mushrooms are attached, it came undercooked - it had to be sent back. The "sauteed" mushrooms were like a soup - basically boiled? They were not good. My husband's steak came back rare. He had to send it back. His potato was off - he had 3 bites of it. Our friend's pork chop was also undercooked and had to send it back. The broccoli au gratin was the worst smelling and tasting thing I've ever tried in my whole life. She sent it back without a replacement. We were sent complimentary desserts, very very sweet gesture by our waitress, but they were mediocre and tasted like the pies you can buy at the freezer section of a grocery store. The food is a 3.5/5- We had the fried crab claws for an appetizer, asparagus, creamed spinach, steak fries, ribeye, 8oz filet for dinner with bread pudding and chocolate cake for dessert. The steaks were quality meat and cooked perfectly internally, but the exterior had very little crust/sear. The asparagus wasn't trimmed correctly with the woody stalks left on all of them. Everything so far tasted good; however, dessert left a lot to be desired. The bread pudding had a rum sauce that was so strong that you could smell it and it overwhelmed any flavor the pudding had. The chocolate cake was on par with a grocery store product. The service was great and our overall experience was positive, but Tico's falls short of the best Jackson has to offer. read more

The interior was dated with lots of person photos of the ownership all over and also a heavy golf theme. The food is where things really want sour for us. We both ordered filet with lobster tail. The lobster tail was large, but not Maine lobster as advertised. It was rock lobster which is just not the same. Much less flavor and more tough than a Maine tail. The filet was tender enough but thats all I can say. The filets at the chains are just as tender and considerably more flavorful. No marbling at all very little seasoning and although we both ordered rare, the cuts were so different mine came out almost purple and my wife's was closer to mid. Unseasoned, poorly prepared CHOICE beef for $60. 5 stars staff, 3 stars decor, -3 star food. Avg .667 stars for the rating of 2 If you want/expect a prime steak and nice decor for prime steak prices do not go here, just cough the extra $ up for Koestlers. Where to begin? Ok so been up in the air about trying this restaurant, and to be honest was not going to. But, several natives recommended. Been open many years and you can tell by the outside appearance. Inside is dark, but clean and nice..hostess was friendly and we were first customers in restaurant. When seated white tablecloths on table and linen napkins. What was odd and what we did not like was the basket of cheap crackers and melba toast on the table (see pic). After spending $200 with tip, I don't want cheap crackers on the table, at the very least put crappy bread in a basket. Waitress was nice. Answered our questions. Husband started with shrimp cocktail (see pic) shrimp while edible the "cocktail sauce" was more like overdosed ketchup on top. I had the hearts of palm and artichoke salad with italian dressing, which was good, but not good enough for the price (see pic). Husband ordered 24 ounce porterhouse and grilled asparagus as a side (see pic) it was very good and cooked very well. I ordered small filet mignon and rock lobster tail (see pic) looks good right? Well filet was good and not salty but towards the end of the filet was all fat..never had fat on a filet. The rock lobster tail-disgusting! 2 small bites left you with an awful aftertaste, not fresh by any means!!. Side of onion rings (see pic) best thing I ate. My husband's drink was empty over 15 minutes because waitress did not return until she brought our entrees, my water was also never refilled. Mind you, we are the ONLY table in the restaurant. They brought over a white paper bag with warm bread, husband ate it just because he was hungry, not because it was good. Waitress came when we were done. She saw my husband finished his porterhouse and we told her that was good. She looked at my plate and looked at us and said it looks like u guys did well. Meanwhile you can clearly see the entire lobster tail in my plate and part of filet that was all fat. I was a waitress..if I saw that I would have said was your lobster ok? Since I paid an extra $18 for it, you would have thought I would have been asked. At this point I just wanted the check and wanted to get out and never return. read more

The sides are good to share between two people and the portions are not excessive. I ordered the large fillet cooked medium well. The cut of beef was very tender and accurate as listed in the menu. The waitress requested to butter fly the steak due to the temperature. When it was received, the steak was severely over cooked and well above well done in which I ordered medium well. I didn't send the steak back, but was surprised they didn't get the temperature right as that is their specialty. Will given them another chance as this was the difference from a 3 to 5 star review. In hindsight, may be refrain from butter flying as this makes the steak too thin and easier to overcook. read more

The steakhouse does NOT know how to cook steaks. Do NOT come here if you are expected a well cooked steak. I ordered a medium done petite steak. The waitress brought out a steak that was completely raw. Even as she approached the table, she asked if the steak needed to be cooked more. I sent the steak back and when it returned, it was completely cooked through and well done. Long story short, after 4 attempts, it became apparent that the chef could NOT cook a medium done steak.
