What I learned about myself after eating here on a sunny Sunday morning is the ambiance of a speakeasy is not my preferred ambiance for brunch. Taking either the stairs or the elevator (depending which building entrance you use), you find yourself transported to a welcoming spacious dimly lit underground hideaway with a very cool vibe! Definitely a unique spot for drinks and live music. There are three large televisions hung at the bar and currently tuned into the channel with March Madness basketball games. The main public dining area has booths, standard tables and high top seating. The service by Bree was pleasant and food delivery speed was pleasantly fast. I enjoyed the French toast, high-quality ingredients plus portions were filling at a reasonable price. It's been a few months since I've visited the Strip District. I called and left a voicemail requesting a reservation about an hour before, not knowing how busy it might be and received a return call about 20 minutes later from a very friendly hostess saying they we're currently accepting walk-ins. I'm not sure if it's residents or fellow visitors, but finding street parking (free on Sundays) was a bit of a challenge for a Sunday and we had to walk several blocks to get to the restaurant. Note: There were available spaces in the paid parking lot across the street ($10). In my opinion Cadence+ Cellars Speakeasy is another great addition to the recent development expanding Strip District neighborhood offerings! read more

Awesome venue in the Strip District. The building is renovated to perfection with quality finishes and they made a such a large space into several intimate smaller spaces. The cocktail menu is diverse and after trying nearly all of them, we didn't find one we didn't like. We got the charcuterie to start and it was outstanding, we especially liked the cheese selection and the pickled veggies. The entree selections made it easy to find something everyone liked. I had the western ribeye and it was cooked very well. The presentation could have been better, but the quality of the ribeye made up for it. read more

A really nice space. It looked like all the tables were full but there was seating available at the bar. So it was really noisy due to the crowd. We had to yell across the table. Our waitress was very good and friendly. Kevin (I think) the GM stopped by and was very helpful. Noticed that he gave a couple of tours of the place to some tables. A nice cocktail list and the wine selection was OK, again think they could have a few better selections at about the same price point. Started with the Lil Ribeye French dips that were tasty with some white cheddar and suppose to have horseradish aioli but most had one tiny dot of the horseradish, maybe a little more time applying it would help. It was restaurant week and one person had the Chicken Ala King dinner that was available and enjoyed it. My house salad and the Waldorf salad that came with the restaurant week dinner were OK but really needed a salad dressing that had a little more flavor. The pork chop was good with a bing cherry demi-glace and came with heirloom carrots that were cooked nicely but way over salted. The chocolate ice box cake was a chocolate wafers with some whipped cream and ganache on top, a basic desert if you like chocolate wafers. read more

Updated review- this visit was meh. We sat at a table rather than the bar. The service was inattentive. I try to not get annoyed by slow service these days because I know restaurants are struggling to hire, but this place is expensive so I expected much better service. Such a cool space! I didn't know what to expect after previously visiting the cadence at North Park which is a more casual vibe. The new Cadence Cellars in the strip has a really unique and trendy atmosphere, a dimly lit underground oasis with stone walls and moody decor. We visited for brunch and were seated near the band. The live music was a nice addition to the ambiance. We split a bottle of Prosecco and the "brunch board," all of which was quite reasonable. The brunch board comes with just the right variety of bites--biscuits and jam, veggie frittatas, savory sausage and delicious potato latkes. The frittatas could've used a bit more salt/flavor, but otherwise everything was tasty. Can't wait to try dinner here next. read more

Yeahhhh this is my new fav spot. The vibes were already a 10/10 once I walked off the elevator, but the cocktail I had is out of this world. It's called the south side and I would marry it if I could. Obviously the tunnel is the main attraction here because it's so cool. It's from the prohibition and leads to wigle whiskey across the street. If you're lucky they will unlock it and let you walk inside. Everything about the vibes of this place are incredible. The menu is small but there was a single thing that I didn't like. Will definitely be back. read more

Been here a few times, and really enjoyed each experience for different reasons. If you have been to any of the other Cadence locations, they are all a little different, and this one is no exception. Probably my favorite ambience of all of them. The history of the building is very cool and worth reading in the plaque next to the elevator. If you can flag down Kevin, the general manager, he will be more than happy to engage with you on the history of the building, the renovation project and more. He's very passionate and does a great job explaining everything. It's got a nice speakeasy vibe and the cocktails are a nice riff off old fashion, speakeasy genre cocktails. The menu, while limited, is excellent. The pork chop and the short ribs, are great entrées. The French dip appetizer is not what you expect and really really good. I visited for the first time last night with friends. What a beautiful space! It was hard to find the entrance at first. You need to go through the bike shop and take the stairs or the elevator downstairs. They do not need take reservations, but there is plenty of seating. They even have two backrooms for events. We started with drinks. They have a big cocktail menu focusing on gins. The wine menu has a nice selection of reds and whites, and they have a beer menu with some local brews. For dinner, we ordered the French dip and ricotta toast for appetizers. Both were a good size for sharing. I'd recommend the ricotta toast over the French dip as it has a little bit of lemon giving it a unique taste. For dinner we had the risotto, pork chop and short rib. Each came with a side salad. While everything was good, the pork chop was the standout. Very cool space! Love this addition to the strip! read more

I had a large group reservation for this Friday canceled by the speakeasy with just 48 hours' notice. Our group had been their twice before and everything was great. Apparently, they changed their policy for large groups and now want them to pay to reserve their private event spaces. All of this would have been fine if they told me this when I made my initial reservation. But they did not. Instead, they call me two days before and said that we no longer have a reservation. The refused to honor the reservation when I pointed out that we are being given such short notice. It would be an understatement to say this blows up our group's plans and now we have virtually no options at this late stage. The manager I spoke with was rude and she couldn't care less that she put us in this predicament. All should would say is that the reservation should not have been made. Instead of honoring the reservation, they chose to greatly inconvenience us. I'll never step foot in the establishment ever again. read more

Decided to check this place out for brunch! Called to make reservations for 8 and they were able to accommodate. They called me at 11am to confirm my reservation and when we got there the host said they gave our table away! The two hosts there weren't on the same page and got confused but they were able to put a high top table together. I would have preferred the corner table that was round because it definitely made it hard to hear each other sitting in the middle of the restaurant. It was loud and lots of background noise. I ordered the chicken and NOT waffles (it was a biscuit) and it was phenomenal!! The chicken was big pieces of tender, the biscuit was soft and chewy! The syrup was unique and so tasty! Had a little kick to it. A friend got the burger and she said it was blah. It was just ok, not much flavor and the fries weren't made to order. Another friend got the grazing board and they shared it, it was filling enough but nothing spectacular. I did try the egg frittata and it can definitely use more seasonings. A lot of the other ladies got the French toast and they said it was pretty average. One person did get the Monte Crisco sandwich (which I almost got) it was a large sammie and it also came with fries. She said it was good. The service was ok. I felt like we didn't see much of our waitress after she took our order. Once we got the food she came to check on us once. They cleared the plates from the table and then we didn't get our checks for another 15mins or so. I understand that it's a new restaurant and it was busy. I also noticed they have two separate back room areas that would be great for hosting big events like a bridal shower or baby shower or even a birthday! The cocktail selection was well-rounded and beers - many local - were nicely curated and reasonable priced. I did not consider the wines at all. Overall, the menu was a little pricey, but not enough to keep us from returning. We both ordered the corn risotto. My husband loved it and I was less impressed. Eddie was absolutely amazing! We went out for a Galentine's Night and everything was perfect. Eddie made recommendations on apps and a couple of entrees that absolutely did not disappoint. He also took us into the Prohibition tunnel and was very familiar with the history of the building. Overall an incredible experience. I've gone to this place since the week they opened and somehow they continue to get better and better. We always sit at the bar and the drinks and food are 10/10. We've always had a good bartender, but Dane, Bradley, Brandon are particularly great. My favorite drink is the Sparkling Sage and my boyfriend thinks they have one of the best espresso martinis he's ever had, and that's usually his go to drink anywhere we go. Tonight I got the French dip roll (one of my favs) and the beef Wellington egg rolls which just got added to the menu and is unreal. read more

Great atmosphere! Beautiful inside that makes you feel like you are in the meddle of prohibition and the cocktails were delicious. We were a bit bummed that they were already out of the house Bloody Mary mix by 12:30 when we went for brunch but will have to stop back to try! Food was good also. Only negative is that although they have high chairs there's no changing table in the bathroom and I had to change a diaper out in the open. There was a wait ... we missed the phone call saying our table was ready but we were just at the bar and reported in the hostess stand one minute after they called and they said our table was given away. Huh lol, 1 minute tho? At dinner we were never offered a second cocktail, had to request bread service that the menu said came with the entrees, & had to box our own food. Again if the menu prices were significantly cheaper I wouldn't complain but when your bill is over $150 for two you expect a certain level of service quality. read more

The bartenders here are very unwilling to serve drinks to new customers. They will serve their regulars all the way to close, but if you walk in within the same hour of the closing time, they will ignore you and act like you aren't there. read more
