I called Hudson Framing in advance to ask about a couple prints that I needed to get professionally framed due to their unusual size. I wasn't looking for anything super fancy, and let Lorene know I was looking for budget-friendly options over the phone. I also let her know I had Covid concerns, as I was going to visit in the middle of a surge and I had high risk family members staying with me. She was kind and understanding over the phone, and when I got to the store, she immediately put on a mask and welcomed me in. During my visit, a couple other people entered the store, and Lorene stopped and kindly asked them to wear a mask - and even offered to give them one - saying *she* had her own Covid concerns. I was honestly touched by that gesture. She worked with me on options for the prints, and offered guidance on mats, materials, etc. She looked for good quality frame options at a lower price point, and was able to find something that was ultimately exactly what I wanted and at a lower price than I expected. I went to pick up my prints a couple weeks later, not realizing it was on the same day as the Hudson art festival. I somehow found parking about 3-4 blocks away. When I picked up my rather sizable prints, Lorene asked me where I was parked. I told her, and she offered to help me carry the prints. I insisted I was fine to do it on my own, and she asked how I would carry them. I fumbled tucking them both under my arms, and she took one and started walking out the door, insisting that she help me. Turns out, I needed her assistance, and enjoyed a nice chat with her as we walked to my car. Lorene is just so wonderful. I am getting a third print done to fit my wall, and will absolutely be bringing it - along with future art - to Hudson framing. I really can't say enough wonderful things about this store and Lorene.

It requires a lot of coordination, so if you are as klutzy as me, you might find it too difficult too. As described in their catalog, flamework is: Tthe process of shaping glass rods and tubes into small objects over the flame of a torch. Begin by making beads, pendants and marbles to establish a foundation of technique. As the class progresses, projects will advance to include the creation of solid sculpture and hollow forms such as flowers, holiday ornaments, and perfume bottles. Small class sizes and one-on-one instruction allow students to work at their own pace. I love this class and the instructor, Jake Vincent, is patient and a great teacher. You don't have to be quite as coordinated to do flamework. In addition to glass classes, they have classes in clay, metal, fiber, photography, wood, and design and multimedia. They have a gallery too. I haven't been yet, because the glass studio is in a separate area of Worcester. I've heard its great and intend to go soon. I'll update this post when I get there. HOWEVER, if you do go in and want to buy something but only have a credit or debit card, keep in mind that it might take a few minutes for you to check out! this is only really an issue if you are very, very impatient.

Two years ago I had three giclee prints made at Gaston Art & Frame. I was not able to sell them at…read morethe time and they were in storage for some time. When I resurrected them to present them to a shop, they were refused because of chips in the print. Nothing had happened to cause those chips; it seemed the inks had simply peeled off. I was devastated. With much trepidation I returned to Gaston Art & Frame with the prints. This was my only and last resort. I showed the Mr. Gaston the giclees and explained the circumstances. Much to my relief and gratification he agreed that there had been problem with the print process or the canvas two years ago and said the words I thought I would never hear: that he would do them over. I went to Worcester Wares to order some custom shirts for my small business. I paid the full price up front (mistake on my part) and patiently waited for the project to progress. I promptly sent in all of the graphics needed to make the various shirts I had ordered. Months into the project I was informed the the owner was dealing with some personal matters, which I was understanding and patient about. She did deliver some of the products I had ordered, and indicated that she was working on the remaining products. Some of the shirts had a defect, which she said she would rectify. The hoodies that I ordered were supposed to feature a large logo on they back, which the ones she delivered did not. After that visit, it was radio silence. I sent several emails and messages inquiring about timeframe for delivering the remaining items, but did not get any response from her, or from anyone at Worcester Wares. I began this process in early December 2025, and paid for my items in full at our initial meeting. It is now May the following year, and I have not hard anything from the owner since February when she dropped off a few of the items I had ordered, despite several emails and phone calls. Unfortunately I would not recommend Worcester Wares to another business. I am now out several hundred dollars and have only a small handful of the shirts that I ordered, some of which were not made as ordered. Very disappointing.
