I haven't been feeling well so hubby decided we would pick something up for dinner tonight. He wanted to try By The Bucket. Neither one of us had high hopes, but it beat us having to cook. Boy were we wrong! It was really good. I placed an order online for the four of us. I ordered the medium spaghetti with meat sauce & added 3 meatballs for Hubby. The medium Alfredo for our daughter & me. A meatball sub for our son. A full order of garlic bread, a side of marinara sauce & a side of Alfredo sauce. I also got a side of the chicken parmigiana. The medium size is huge! I could have gotten the small easily for hubby & our daughter & me. The amount of bread that comes with the buckets would have been plenty without the extra order. Hubby loved the spaghetti & meatballs. He said next to what I make it's the best he's had. He said it's better than Spinato's. He said this is now our go to for Italian restaurant. The Alfredo sauce, garlic bread, marinara, & chicken parmigiana were so good. I have no doubts that our son will love the meatball sub. The staff was very friendly & welcoming. Every time we come here it gets more and more underwhelming. The Italian sausage was extremely overdone and rubbery to chew and the meatball was dry. Our medium bucket came in a flimsy to go container where sauce was leaking from the lid. The usually good bread was also terrible. The garlic loaf had the faintest bit of garlic butter swiped across and the cheese bread was literally just cheese on a baguette and totally untoasted. The bread was soft and looked as though it had been heated just enough to melt the cheese. We wound up making frozen garlic bread and tossing the bread and meat as it was inedible. With what this costed compared to what we got, I don't think we'll be back. Save the money and make this at home. read more

The food is good but the hours are super limited and ordering online we don't always get confirmation that our order has actually gone through. We've tried calling to check but no one ever answers. I found out about "By The Bucket" on facebook, having seen several reviews over time. The majority of the comments were great, and I couldn't wait to give it a try. When I placed the order online, I got an immediate confirmation, and another message when it was ready for pickup. I picked up the order, quick & easy. When I got home, I noticed a minor discrepancy, which can be expected in todays world as busy as we all are. I did not want to call, knowing that they were busy when I was in, so I emailed them, and asked for the difference to be credited to my account for a future order. I was surprised to receive a response within less than 5 minutes (during the busy dinner hour!) and they offered compensation way above and beyond. Since then, I have heard from Ed & Connie on several occasions, as they have called to see how our order was and if we enjoyed dinner, again way above & beyond. We have been in 2-3 times a month since our first visit, and would be there even more if it were closer to home. (Would be great to see a location open in Downtown Chandler!) read more

New to the area and saw this place online and thought it was an interesting concept. Tonight, did my first take out order and it was delicious. Got the spaghetti bake with two extra meatballs and shared it with my spouse. It also came with garlic bread and a big chocolate chip cookie. We only ordered one dinner and it was more than enough for both of us! Definitely will go back. Drove by the Gilbert location and put it in the back of my mind. Finally decided to go in and give it a shot. Spaghetti was tasty, kids loved it. Fettuccine Alfredo was excellent as well. I had the Chicken Parm sandwich which was good, but I prefer more chicken to sauce ratio. Garlic bread was a great side kick with our pasta. We also tried the tiramisu and chocolate chip cookie and both were delicious. Honestly one of the better tiramisu I have ever had. Service was great, owners were very kind and helpful. Your receipt also gets you a free shaved ice at the store next to the shop! Not much seating but I believe most people get it to-go. read more

My wife and I were looking for something easy and different and saw "By The Bucket" we were instantly intrigued and had to try it! The food is warm, always fresh and absolutely amazing for 20.00 my wife and I have dinner and leftovers. The service is amazing and the owners are always fun to joke and laugh with. It's a small 2-3 person operation and they work hard, support this local business the ambiance is nice and there are a couple places to sit and eat if interested. I like the catchy name and logo so tried this new place out. The fast spaghetti concept is great and I had my spaghetti, garlic bread and meatball sub within 5 minutes of my order and it was busy. Prices are reasonable and the 6 inch meatball sub is filling with large meatballs. I subtract one star for no seating in or outside(a few tables and chairs even outside would be nice)and the spagh & sub could use some more veges like onions, olives etc. and condiment seasonings. Well, where do I start? The food is good. Great amount for the price and always tastes great. The reason for the five stars obviously includes how good the food is but is more for the customer service. We ordered pick up over the weekend. Today (Monday) I get a call from the store inquiring on how our ordering process went and asking how the food tasted. Coming into this, I heard all the hype about this up and coming franchise where the novelty is spaghetti served in a bucket. I consider myself a lover of pastas, so seeing as this franchise had expanded to my neck of the woods, it seemed like a match made in heaven. I did not expect to want to pass on this harder than a red flag pick me on Tinder. The spaghetti had the consistency of Play doh and honestly kind of tasted like it, too. The preparation of the noodles was merely transferring them cold from plastic bag to bucket. The least you could do is freshly boil up some boxed pasta. The sauce had the salt content of a fresh water pond. It was only one degree removed from warm Hunt's tomato puree. The meatball was fine, and the saving grace was the garlic bread. That bread must've had a gravitational pull cause it seems that's where all the seasoning and flavor went to. If your whole entire shtick is spaghetti, it better be good. Avoid this. You are better off going to Fry's across the street, snagging Bertolli and a jar of Prego, and making it yourself. read more

We ordered this tonight for our family of 5 and were VERY disappointed. We had it when camping up north and were told the Gilbert location was the same ITS NOT. Food was not good, portion sizes are not accurate and overall it was not a value for the cost AT ALL. Sauce was can flavor, pasta was gummy, meatballs even the kids wouldn't eat and garlic bread was burnt. We will not be going back unfortunately :( read more

It's a once and done for my family. We were curious so we tried it but have no desire to go back. It wasn't "bad", it was just expensive spaghetti and meatballs that taste straight from the jar. (We will stick with the $6 Silver Palate jar sauce from Frys.) The meatballs were very pricey for the size and quality. This place is in the same square mile as Sal's and Venezias... there's just no comparison in regards to the quality for similar cost. read more

The spaghetti travels great in a bucket and I love the sauce and those meatballs, while maybe frozen, are delicious as any. Nice size and I'll take two.
