Recently I dined here with a group of friends. When we arrived we had a worker ask if any of us were 19 years old. Once we had told them we weren't, they informed us that we could not dine there. Then another worker took over and told us it was fine and they would let us. When we were seated we got asked what we would like to drink and three of us responded with "water" as our answer, our server took it upon herself to put us down for seven waters and walk away without acknowledging any of us. All of us decided not to make it a problem since we understood that it could have just been a rough day for her, but it continued to get worse. We didn't wait very long for our food so that is an upside, but as we were waiting there was a group of men (around our age, possibly a bit older) who came in and they were treated with a lot more respect and kindness than we were. Usually I wouldn't nitpick things like this but my experience was so far from enjoyable that I feel the need to. The food arrived and it was alright, I can't really complain too much about that. When It was time to pay we told our server that we would be splitting the bill. She looked annoyed and told us they were too busy and that we should, AND I QUOTE, "deal with it ourselves" and that we should "all be even" since we all ordered waters. Which to be fair, she ordered the waters for us..... Besides that, it looked as if everyone (inside and outside) had already had their orders taken and received their food. She had also told us to give her "7 cards", which mislead us and made us believe we couldn't pay in cash and caused a bit of a panic throughout the table. Once she came back she was a bit apologetic and told us she would split it for us. After this we were a lot more sympathetic and understanding. Until a part of the group was paying for their portion and had to pay with cash AND card. When they handed her the cash and were about to explain that they wanted to pay with that and finish off the leftover payment on their card, she got fussy and said "Im not a mind reader".... They were also very pushy and obviously DID NOT want us there! And to be honest, if I had known how average their food would be, or how horrible the service was... I wouldn't want to be there either. If they don't want anyone under 19 there then they should make it clear and post it. Marketing it as a family friendly restaurant is misleading and plainly untrue! I read in another review that they include a 20% gratuity for larger groups. Understandable, but I thought it was customary to inform the customers of this so that they wont tip and overpay.. Anyway! I regret going to eat at this place and wish we had just gone elsewhere. read more

I ate at Buzz's lighthouse last year and returned this year while wintering in Naples. This is a small cozy place located on the water on the Bay side. The service is excellent, especially Kim, the food is remarkably good and the prices are reasonable. I ordered the Caesar salad with blackened shrimp, and it was absolutely delicious. My accompanying glass of Chardonnay was generously poured and quite good. I highly recommend this unpretentious seaside restaurant if you're in the area. read more

Hidden Gem on Vanderbilt Beach. Great food, great drinks and wonderful service on the water. Good drink selection and wine list. My wife and I went one day for lunch and send back for dinner. We stopped in here for lunch today after walking and driving past it for years. The exterior has never really pulled me in, but we gave it a try. The setting is nice, especially if you sit on the deck by the water. You can choose sun or no sun and watch dolphins and manatees occasionally laze on by. I absolutely give the service five stars for friendliness and attentiveness. I was a bit disappointed that so many menu items were breaded and fried, but I was happy to order a blackened grouper sandwich. Sandwiches are served with a bag of Lay's chips but I spent the extra $2 for a generous basket of crispy skinny fries. Unfortunately, that was the best part of the meal. My brother had the grouper Reuben which he said was okay. We had the calamari which was a tad rubbery. My blackened grouper came on an untoasted bun and the bottom was soggy. The fish, as another reviewer commented, looked and tasted suspiciously like catfish - which I love, but it is not grouper. The blackening seasoning has a heavy dose of dried thyme, which gave it an unpleasant spiky texture. The house Chardonnay was delicious. If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would!! We stayed at this inn for all of 30 minutes before we left. Smokers everywhere, unnaturally tan, creepy guys in the pool, and bitchy women who stare at you because you just want to swim in the pool with your kid. It really was a scary, unsafe place for a family with little kids. If you are over 65, enjoy getting completely wasted, and live for loud people who like to chain smoke, then this is your place. We were in north naples for a month and ate here/ordered in probably 6 times. There was always a bit of a wait but they pump people through. Everything is awesome, I love the clam chowder. My husband got the captains catch every time. Snapper was one of my favorites but also surprisingly the steak and baked potato is also great! Really cant go wrong here. read more

Prior to being sat the atmosphere was great (sitting by the water on the lounge chairs with drink in hand) After being sat, we were crammed. We have small children so of course they wanted chicken strips. We were told they were out, so we chose hotdogs, they were out of those too. So we went with burgers (which were as plain as you could get). After we put our order in, the table behind us (also had small children) ordered chicken strips (which they obviously had as we saw them get served to the table). Food was just "ok". We've visited Buzz's twice in the past month and both times were excellent. Staff was efficient, friendly and accommodating. Both times I had the grouper Reuben, blackened, but with sauerkraut instead of cole slaw. Grouper was fresh and cooked perfectly. Happy to have a local restaurant with an old Florida vibe to it.
