It has been 16 years since we've been to Doc's! Doc's still has the same charm and gorgeous sunset views. Don't panic about parking as their free valet will park for you, and they even tell you they don't expect a tip (of course we tipped though). We have food allergies in our family--turmeric, tree nuts and shellfish. They use non-transfer oil, but most choose not to take the chance since shellfish and other items are fried together. The food is delicious! Our table had chicken salad stuffed tomatoes (no nuts in the chicken salad), the fried clam platter, the turkey club and chicken tender platters. Every person in our party of five loved their food. We were treated to a GORGEOUS sunset as well! Our server was amazing! She was kind and funny and made us enjoy even more. We loved it so much that we had to all get a shirt! The only thing that may keep you from dining is their cash only policy....BUT....they make that abundantly clear before you even go in to eat, so I personally have no issue with that. Pouring rain. A group of nine was accommodated. The seating is not designed for comfort; it uses round barstools with no backs. So you hunch over the table. Sometime in the past, the owner of this place was very Chicago-centric; thus, the decor was Chicago-themed. I ordered their fantastic conch chowder and a fish sandwich. They will cook the fish any way you want it. I had mine grilled. The fish was fresh, moist, and very good. Of note, this is a cash-only place. With a group of nine, I hit their ATM pretty hard. Doc's Beach House is a staple beach bar in the Bonita Springs area. This beachy, dive bar is all Chicago themed with sports memorabilia, painted murals and framed photos all over the walls. The downstairs has two larger dining room where the upstairs is a large bar area. There's plenty of tv's to watch sports games and enjoy a casual atmosphere. Out back, you are steps from the beach to enjoy the gulf or a nice sunset. When visiting, my group got a round of drinks. They serve straight forward items like beer and wine as well as some specialty frozen drinks. I got a Miami Vice and my husband got a local craft beer. Both had great flavor and were quick to be served. We didn't order food but saw other guests orders and pizza is the go-to here! Chicago Style Thin Crust with different topping options was that choice of over half the tables. Their pizza special was a Meatball Pizza which looked delicious! What a fun bar where Chicago meet Florida! Great for any local or tourist visiting the area. Tip: They are cash only but do have an ATM for use upstairs if needed. Stopped at Doc's after a couple hours on the beach up the road. Parking was a bit tricky but doable. They do have a valet. We found a table on the beach, placed our order inside. The did portions were great for the price. Our group had the fried clams, cheeseburgers, fish tacos (had a bit too much cilantro), and chicken tenders. Everything was good including the mozzarella sticks. Compared to other places we had been this trip, the prices, serving size, and quality of food were great. It is cash only. There was plenty of seating inside or outside. It's serve yourself outside but looked to be wait staff for the inside. Try a frozen drink. They're pricey but good. Got a chicken Philly from this spot called Doc's Beach House, it hit the spot. I sat at the bar and had tap water along with my chicken Philly. The service was cool and hospitable. The WiFi didn't work during my visit and neither did my cell phone service so this spot must be a dead spot for cell service atleast with T-Mobile it was. The Philly was flavorful, came with chicken, cheese, peppers & onions. I added buffalo sauce, they have various sauce and condiments behind the bar. It's right by the beach and would love to try it again on a warm and not so windy day. Parking appears to be mostly valet but there is a paid lot beside Doc's also. read more

Best pizza in town!!!! I love going to Docs and the staff is great!!! I would recommend the wings and pizza is a must.

The ambience right on the beach is amazing. It's the only restaurant on Bonita Beach. The food especially the pizza is fantastic. You can order a pizza after 4 PM. The service is always good with very friendly servers and the view from upstairs is phenomenal! The shrimp basket is wonderful because they are jumbo shrimp. read more

Doc's runs with minimum staff so gotta order inside and they call you when food is ready. Outdoor, indoor and upstairs seating available. We sat outside, enjoyed the sun, some peel and eat shrimp (large shrimp) and a Blue Moon or 5. On the way out I grabbed a Chicago Beef sandwich for the road (fantastic). The food is always very good and the setting is unique. I can even handle the cash-only policy. I cannot accept the policy that they won't split checks for large groups. It is a very poor policy and should be changed. The restaurant is certainly in a better position than the customer to add up the cost of food, drink, tax and tip. Parking is Tough!! but GREAT BEACH SPOT!!! Grouper Sandwich was delicious!! My wife got grouper fish sticks that were tasty but too much breading. My cousin got clam basket and ate every last bit :) This place is right on the beach and many folks are staying for hours so the parking is very challenging. I figured we would wait in line for a while but got a table immediately looking onto beach. Servers were both good natured and fun. Food came pretty quick and all was good. Very touristy. Location is key. Rude server right off the bat. Stopped in for breakfast on Saturday morning at 8am. I went to the restroom upon arrival to wash my hands. Husband sat down at a table next to the windows with seating for 6. I walked up to hear the (senior aged) server tell him to move because there was only two people in our party. I would have completely agreed if it were busy!! There were 4 other people in the restaurant at the time. Regardless, we moved to a section with a more pleasant server and ordered the special which was eggs Benedict. We ate, paid our bill and left for the beach. The time was 9:05 am. Two more couples had arrived during our stay. Hardly enough reason to tell us we should move to another table because it would be crowded. We won't stop in again. We 3 adults went to have dinner at Doc's hoping to catch a great sunset. We first set outside and my daughter went to order our food. It quickly became very cloudy with lightning. We went inside and set at a table to wait on our food. The waitress came over and said we could not sit inside because we ordered outside. The place maybe had 8 other customers with a ton of open tables and it was 8 pm. I said "but it's raining". She apologized and said sorry but you can't sit in here. So back outside we went. About 5 minutes later she came out and asked us if we took the silverware? WTF!!!!! We did NOT plus it was plastic anyway. TACO TUESDAY!! I recommend for sure, we got the special and we got one of each flavors-beef and pork! VERY tasty and not small! We had a little gal take us to a very nice window view and a nice gal serve us. It was as exactly what you expect from a beach food/bar and yet homey. Being from Chicago I got excited when seeing a Chicago Vienna hot dog on a sesame seed bun on the menu. Great, ordered the dog and received a hot dog on a stale bun with a hot dog that I seriously doubt was a real Vienna. Lobster bisque soup left a lot to be desired.
