Doc's Beach House is a staple beach bar in the Bonita Springs area. This beachy, dive bar is all Chicago themed with sports memorabilia, painted murals and framed photos all over the walls. The downstairs has two larger dining room where the upstairs is a large bar area. There's plenty of tv's to watch sports games and enjoy a casual atmosphere. Out back, you are steps from the beach to enjoy the gulf or a nice sunset. When visiting, my group got a round of drinks. They serve straight forward items like beer and wine as well as some specialty frozen drinks. I got a Miami Vice and my husband got a local craft beer. Both had great flavor and were quick to be served. We didn't order food but saw other guests orders and pizza is the go-to here! Chicago Style Thin Crust with different topping options was that choice of over half the tables. Their pizza special was a Meatball Pizza which looked delicious! What a fun bar where Chicago meet Florida! Great for any local or tourist visiting the area. Tip: They are cash only but do have an ATM for use upstairs if needed. Pro Tip: There are two parking lots on each side of Doc's but finding a spot can be tough. They do offer Complimentary Valet parking but be ready to wait a bit to get serviced. read more

The food is always very good and the setting is unique. I can even handle the cash-only policy. I cannot accept the policy that they won't split checks for large groups. It is a very poor policy and should be changed. The restaurant is certainly in a better position than the customer to add up the cost of food, drink, tax and tip. I have been going to Doc's for over 40 years and this latest visit with the customer-unfriendly policy put a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Stopped at Doc's after a couple hours on the beach up the road. Parking was a bit tricky but doable. They do have a valet. We found a table on the beach, placed our order inside. The did portions were great for the price. Our group had the fried clams, cheeseburgers, fish tacos (had a bit too much cilantro), and chicken tenders. Everything was good including the mozzarella sticks. Compared to other places we had been this trip, the prices, serving size, and quality of food were great. It is cash only. There was plenty of seating inside or outside. It's serve yourself outside but looked to be wait staff for the inside. Try a frozen drink. They're pricey but good. Stopped in as a 6 top for some drinks and snacks on a Tuesday afternoon. Indoor- Outdoor-Upstairs and Down Casual atmosphere. We ventured upstairs and found some empty stools. We stopped by the spot outside the restaurant just to grab some drinks. They also offer simple snacks like hot dogs and popcorn, but we were only there for beverages. We ordered one virgin piña colada, a Miami Vice, and a beer- all hit the spot. Just a heads-up that it's cash only, though they do have an ATM on-site. Got a chicken Philly from this spot called Doc's Beach House, it hit the spot. I sat at the bar and had tap water along with my chicken Philly. The service was cool and hospitable. The WiFi didn't work during my visit and neither did my cell phone service so this spot must be a dead spot for cell service atleast with T-Mobile it was. The Philly was flavorful, came with chicken, cheese, peppers & onions. I added buffalo sauce, they have various sauce and condiments behind the bar. It's right by the beach and would love to try it again on a warm and not so windy day. Parking appears to be mostly valet but there is a paid lot beside Doc's also. read more

I was excited to finally get a chance to try Doc's. We went for dinner, our wait was not too long. It is your typical "beach food". The cash-only policy is always a bit surprising, I can understand how it would be difficult for the people visiting on vacation. Doc's runs with minimum staff so gotta order inside and they call you when food is ready. Outdoor, indoor and upstairs seating available. We sat outside, enjoyed the sun, some peel and eat shrimp (large shrimp) and a Blue Moon or 5. On the way out I grabbed a Chicago Beef sandwich for the road (fantastic). Parking is Tough!! but GREAT BEACH SPOT!!! Grouper Sandwich was delicious!! My wife got grouper fish sticks that were tasty but too much breading. My cousin got clam basket and ate every last bit :) This place is right on the beach and many folks are staying for hours so the parking is very challenging. I figured we would wait in line for a while but got a table immediately looking onto beach. Servers were both good natured and fun. Food came pretty quick and all was good. Prices were shockingly high for a 3. Italian sandwich, three pickles and a small bag of Lays chips. Perhaps during the day this is a great spot to hang out and have a beer. Being from Chicago I got excited when seeing a Chicago Vienna hot dog on a sesame seed bun on the menu. Great, ordered the dog and received a hot dog on a stale bun with a hot dog that I seriously doubt was a real Vienna. Lobster bisque soup left a lot to be desired. Very touristy. Location is key. Rude server right off the bat. Stopped in for breakfast on Saturday morning at 8am. I went to the restroom upon arrival to wash my hands. Husband sat down at a table next to the windows with seating for 6. I walked up to hear the (senior aged) server tell him to move because there was only two people in our party. I would have completely agreed if it were busy!! There were 4 other people in the restaurant at the time. Regardless, we moved to a section with a more pleasant server and ordered the special which was eggs Benedict. We ate, paid our bill and left for the beach. The time was 9:05 am. Two more couples had arrived during our stay. Hardly enough reason to tell us we should move to another table because it would be crowded. We won't stop in again. For a place with premium location, the food was not outrageously expensive. Would definitely eat here again. We had a little gal take us to a very nice window view and a nice gal serve us. It was as exactly what you expect from a beach food/bar and yet homey. Great place right on the beach. My favorite is to grab a drink and go sit outside. This time we went for a Miami vice frozen drink -- so good and refreshing. They only accept cash!! No other forms of payment were accepted both times we went. The food is terrible! Fish is frozen, underneath all the gross breading was slimy, tough, un-edible fish. The reviews also say pets are welcome but that too is a lie. Pets can't even be inside in a pet stroller. They don't have a liquor license either so all drinks are wine based. This is probably the worst beach restaurant around. I'd make a drive to Ft Myers or Naples to eat, don't waste your time here. read more

This place is always busy when we drive my on Saturday afternoons. We stopped for lunch today, Thursday. Patio dining with great ocean views. They also have indoor dining n the 2nd floor with great oceans view from their big picture windows. My husband had the half pound of big cold shrimp with cocktail sauce. I had the BLT triple decker sandwich that had generous portions of crispy bacon, sliced tomatoes and lettuce. All good and tasty. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.
