Beer
Siarhei Z.

Food was decent -- nothing special. The seared tuna tasted like it had been previously frozen. The shrimp appetizer was crispy but pretty standard. On the bright side, the beer was fresh and cold. Service was fine overall, although the bartender spent a bit too much time chatting with others instead of staying focused. Not a bad place, just not amazing.

There are not many restaurants in this immediate location, so was pleased to find this spot. We got an amazing table outside, with a gorgeous view. The service was super slow, drinks were never refilled. I had the scallop risotto and my friend had the seafood alfredo. The dishes were average, nothing special at all for the cost. Lacked flavor. I'd rate this as a mediocre spot, but convenient if you are staying in the area. Update, the service and food were much better the second trip. The waiter was very outgoing and stayed on top of providing excellent service. The outdoor patio is a treat in itself, great views.

I chose Sam Snead's Grill for my Father's Day celebration. Easy to find location at the Lely Resort, great table, great server (David), great food. The surroundings are such fun for golf fans, like a Sam Snead museum. I had a hamburger, cooked to order. Mine was cooked perfectly. Fries were crispy and tasty. Deb had fish and chips, also prepared perfectly. My only wish is for more coleslaw sauce and flavor, but that is easily correctable. And BTW, 20% off during the summer off season! Two thumbs up.

Fish and Chips

The establishment is open to the public just in case anyone was wondering. I went in and sat at the bar. The bartender was attentive and got my order in and out. The food was ok, nothing special. I don't know if it was because it was during lunch hours and the menu is not as versatile, but I ordered the fish and chips, jumbo shrimp cocktail, and a beer. The fish was lacking a bit of seasoning. Everything else was great. The shrimp with the cocktail sauce was great, the french fries were great, and the coleslaw was great. The ambiance was ok, the look of it all was really vintage. What you'd think a club house would look like in the 90s. There's nothing wrong with that, but just giving my honest opinion. I hope to try the dinner menu in the near future.

A Hidden Gem in Downtown Naples -- Don't Sleep on This Place!…read more I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was buzzing -- the outside patio was at full capacity. I asked for a seat at the bar, and even though space is very limited, the staff went above and beyond to find me one. That kind of effort on a packed afternoon says a lot about this team. The bartender was phenomenal -- attentive, warm, and somehow managed to make every single person at that busy bar feel like they were the only guest in the restaurant. The whole staff carried that same energy. They were also wonderfully descriptive about the daily specials and menu offerings, which made ordering a pleasure rather than a guessing game. I decided to try the crab cake, and I'm so glad I did. I grew up on the East Coast eating crab, and I've had my fair share -- I've long held that Phillips in Maryland made the gold standard. I am happy to report that Captain & Crew has dethroned them in my book. This crab cake was pure lump crab meat, not overpowered by fillers or seasoning. You could actually taste the crab. The accompaniments they served alongside it elevated the whole dish even further. Thoroughly impressed. The wine pairings were equally well-curated. I took the staff's recommendations and they absolutely nailed it. A heads-up for first-timers: parking is the one small challenge. There's no convenient lot right there, so you may need to use a parking garage and walk over. Honestly? Embrace it. If you're already in Downtown Naples, it's a beautiful stroll that perfectly sets the mood before you arrive. Captain & Crew is a true hidden gem. Many people come for the fresh seafood market, but don't overlook the restaurant side -- it's absolutely worth your time. Highly recommend.

After sitting down, we started reviewing the menu and saw so many interesting items that it was difficult to choose. Fortunately, our server noticed we were struggling and she offered to help navigate us through our meal. Our goal was to sample a variety of options, but not to over order. And we accomplished just that! We started with some Stone Crabs, then some Peel & Eat Shrimp, then my wife and I shared an entree of Blackened Grouper with sides of fries and coleslaw, where we also added a few scallops. Delicious! We thought we were done, but our server informed us of the excellent Key Lime pie. We had room to share one slice, and we are so happy we did! It was excellent. A great balance of tartness and sweetness. We look forward to returning!

Our server Mike, did an excellent job taking care of us. We started off with a couple cocktails. I had an Old Fashioned and my wife had the Not Bogged Down. For dinner I had the Chorizo Encrusted Red Snapper and my wife had one of the specials which was the Tripletail. She said it was the best seafood dish she has ever had. For dessert, we split the special Crème Brûlée topped with diced fruit. We enjoyed the dessert so much, we purchased one for a sweet family of four sitting next to us. Craft cocktails with homemade syrups, tinctures, house infused spirits, house blend vermouth, house blend bitters. Whoever runs their drinks program is paying attention & serving up delicious & unique drinks. It's becoming more rare to visit a restaurant that feels like someone's singular vision for a neighborhood or community (instead of a corporate venture). This place is unique & elegant but approachable & welcoming. Highly recommend.

Nutshell: if you are a person who enjoys quality good, not fancy, just properly executed, you will hate this place. Waiter says, "we are known for our onion rings, you have to have those." Well, I enjoy a quality onion ring, so let's do it. Absolutely a huge mistake. Calling them greasy is an understatement. There was also not a lick of seasoning on them. They tasted of bland grease. Also, any server suggesting a gigantic basket of onion rings to two normally sized people is a jerk. Even if the batter wasn't shattered off half of them, it would have been a waste. The burger suffered from the same fatal flaw. I cannot recall ever eating a burger with less flavor. Zero salt and pepper and swimming in so much grease, the bottom bun collapsed upon pick up. This isn't an exaggeration. Flavorless. The lobster roll at least had some lobster, but again, just mid. Salt and pepper escapes them. I cannot stress enough that you should not eat here. My meal was free with the Platinum Rest credit, and I'm still angry about it.

In our hour of dining, tons of people came and gone and the staff knew them by name and order. Very impressive. The food justifies its reputation. We got the conch fritters, seafood chowder, chicken tenders, grouper and chips and the dark and tart. The conch fritters were a surprise. We had never had them before but they were delicious. Just the right texture and the sauces that came with it were perfect. Seafood chowder was served in a mug which had its own cute charm to it. It was so delicious, buttery and chunky full of clams, grouper, and potatoes. I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't put in shrimp as a filler. I'm allergic to shrimp so I appreciated that it wasn't included. Grouper and chips were delicious! Very crispy but the fish was so tender and fell apart delicately. Also included some tasty tartar sauce. Lastly the dark and tart was a nice surprise! I had been wanting to try key lime pie but was worried I wouldn't like it so I appreciated the inclusion of chocolate mousse. What a great combo! A must order in my opinion. It wasn't as tart as I expected but the chocolate balanced it out well. 100% recommend stopping here if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed. Expect a wait as the place gets packed and is not huge. Indoor and outdoor seating, good amount of parking. Don't think about it, plan a visit!
