Update on my take home of the lasagna and Spanish ravioli. Ravioli was good. The wife complained the pasta was a little thick, but I was ok with it. For $12 you get 16 pieces. Plenty for 2-3 people. The lasagna. This might be my biggest disappointment this year. Lasagna is one of my favorite dishes, I don't know if I've ever had one I couldn't finish... until this day. I dunno, maybe the beef went bad? At first I thought it was the cheese. I was confused, it had a chemical smell to it. I was thinking maybe this is some exotic Italian cheese they put on top, but when I isolated the ingredients to try to figure out what was giving off the smell and taste, it ended up being the meat. The ingredients said "beef" but I've never had beef taste like this before. I've literally never thrown out lasagna up until this point. I tried to power through it, but stopped after eating about 20%. The thought of taking another bite still haunts me. I was really hoping I was going to love this place. So sad. read more

Place was pretty busy when I stopped in for lunch. Kinda of small on the inside and gives off a very Italian feel. They have a close local following I think. Got a sandwich and they told me to sit down and eat then pay. Thought that was a nice touch. read more

Neapolitan Gourmet - Fully loaded sub was superb. - Delis Near Me - Naples, Florida

Study the menu and know what you want before you order. Maybe it's just the Northeast in me, but knowing your order is essential here. If you can order ahead, do it--you won't regret the extra planning. These folks are hand-crafting a masterpiece for your mouth, and that takes time. Trust me, it's worth the wait. This place takes me straight back to Philly hoagies in 1983. So yes hands down go for the Hoagie. What impressed me even more is the quality and service at this establishment. Wow. They treat everyone like family. Warm greetings and such a welcoming all encompassing atmosphere when you walk in. They didn't even realize I had ordered ahead. Especially first visit. I was allowed to browse the imported food section as it is delicatessen at its core. That just so happens to serve prepared and prepackaged foods. All of which are outstanding. I don't even know if I want to share what other delicious delights I enjoy as I feel one should go on their own culinary adventures as well. So my big take away. Best Italian Sub in Naples. read more

From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed. The food is phenomenal. This is by far the best Italian sub that we have ever tasted. They have tables that you can sit on the inside as well as the outside very cute and cozy. We will be back soon. read more

I was very disappointed today at the store off airport pulling road. While the quality of the products are very good the staff had no clue the delivery business or practice customer service. Two glaring problems was that they charge sales tax on their raw Italian sausage as they feel it was made on premises. They of course are wrong and also they slice the Citterio soprasatta natural casing and leave the casing on each slice claiming that it is too hard to take off (it's easy) and is edible. If that was the owner /shame and if they were clerks they need training. I have been in the food business for over 50 years read more

Was so excited to try this place but was very disappointed. The chicken salad was just flat out bad and the Italian sub just wasn't for me.

I've only had the sandwiches but it's for sure the yummiest deli sandwich I've found so far in town! Delicious bread, fresh and a little hard in the outside. They fill it so full of meats it's hard to get your mouth around in one bite. Meat is shaved on the spot to order. Always the same people working when I've been so far. Reminds me of a real deli sandwich from Jersey.... Mmmm Someone is a deadhead too, which is always nice to find ;) Nice little shop with Italian goods inside as well. read more

They have a store in Bonita Springs near where I live, it was on my list to try and today was the day. It smelled great in there as I walked in and I was immediately greeted by 2 friendly guys behind the counter. I ordered the Italian sub because of all the rave reviews. YUM! I agree with every one of them, this is a very good sandwich and it is as big as all the pictures show. I got a a half to take home and just had half of that for lunch and I will finish it for dinner. I ordered it as they make it, no changes. The bread is fresh with a crunchy crush and a slight chew, the meat was piled on, the finishing with lettuce tomato, vinegar, etc. really added great flavors. I definitely recommend this place, go hungry! read more

Exceptional food and exceptional service! We had a party for 30 people at my house. Neapolitan Gourmet catered the event. We had their sausages and onions; pesto pasta; meatballs and a charcuterie platter. They delivered the food at the required time and it arrived HOT and ready to serve. Ordering was easy. The service was fabulous!! Next party I will definitely use them again! Just fabulous! read more

Best Meatball sandwich I've ever tasted. Great bread in the sandwich. World's best sandwich. Keep it up!

Subs are amazing and the Service was Excellent ! Definitely one of ghe best places for subs !!!

Meatballs are like dog food. So tough and tasteless. Nice staff but when I have to spit out my food I'll pass

This is the best place to get a tasty hero/hoagie in Naples. They've been here for almost 3 decades. A cute little place in a strip mall (that's where all the good places are). There are also some nice sides, take home meals like lasagna, and a fully stocked deli with in house made sausages. My order of a full size Italian hero(they're specialty), and a tub of pasta salad came quickly. The whole sub- which I could only eat a 1/4, was only $15. What a deal for Naples! Friendly employees and a very clean atmosphere. Oh, and the photos of the sandwiches on here- that's exactly what mine looked like. They aren't light on the fillings! read more

Had a craving for a sub and lunch and after a quick yelp search I found this gem. The space is not very big but they have a variety of deli meats, prepared food and groceries. They were busy so I quickly chose the chicken parmigiana. Great sandwich that came on fresh warm bread. While waiting for the sandwich I stumbled on a pre-made lasagna for dinner. Prices are reasonable, the staff is very friendly and great sandwiches. read more

I did not come for their famous sandwiches I came for the deli. I noticed in the pictures of this place before I came they had a deli case with Italian sausages, cheese, and other delights. I wanted to by mortadella sausage but that will wait till another day. I purchased two Italian sausages with fennel seeds and two Italian sausages with spice to make it hot. The sausages are huge hangs out both ends of a hotdog bun. When I cook Italian sausages I usually grill them then I put them in a dish with BBQ sauce. I did not do this with these as I wanted to taste them without any embellishment. These sausages are made in the store and were very good. However if I cook them again I will go back to letting them simmer in BBQ sauce. They have "rope sausage" which I would love to try one day as it harkens back to my youth and how Italian sausages were prepared. However I could not make out what was in the sausages to make a choice. I think we are darn lucky to have a shop like this in Naples. read more

No doubt a 5 star sub from top to bottom. It's like you step into a time machine, back when deli's made sandwiches you could get excited for! All the components are here, and the sub is the star. I found this place on yelp and after seeing a few reviews I decided to swing by. The place is like a small Italian bodega from the 1970's! In a good way. The merchandise is all Italian and the subs are hand made, fresh sliced and a delicatessen dream. I ordered their star sub, the Italian. First the bread. My oh my ... the bread. This bread is what all sub sandwiches should be built upon. It hold together, but it's not chewy, it tastes REAL. Leagues ahead of the stuff Publix, and other sub spots are working with. The meat. They pile it on! Fresh sliced and amazing quality. Perfect flavor and loads of it! The cheese. I chose to upgrade to the fresh mozzarella and man was that a great decision. So so good, and hard to find. This is legit mozzarella They add a delicious balsamic that really ties it all together. What a yummy sub!! This huge sub that can easily feed two was $13! The guy at the counter was also very friendly and polite, seems like a guy you'd want running your deli. Great service. I will be back, not just to try the other sandwiches but also to buy hot giardiniera! read more

I got a full chicken Parmesan sub. The bread is delicious. The service was good. But the chicken cutlet was diced up into small chunks. Why?? The chicken tasted old, was too chewy, and incredibly dry! It came with very little sauce and melted cheese. For $16.50 I thought I was going to be amazed. It tasted nothing like a real Italian chicken cutlet parmesan sub. Was extremely disappointed!! I took a few bites and couldn't finish it. Their sliced deli meat sandwiches are probably a much better way to go! read more

I am grading this on the Sandwiches only.... SWFL has some of the best true Sub Sandwich shops around. But this place has been on my list for a while. Stopped in after breakfast at Skillets to get a sandwich to take to the baseball game today. It's a small Italian Market. The other items seemed typical and then I saw them making a few sandwiches before mine and it is immidialaty impressive. Look at the pictures, it's no joke. That's a solid pound of Turkey in mine and Italian Cold Cuts on my brothers. Their homemade Turkey and Mozzarella were delicious together. Did I mention a huge Sub! There are few places like this left that provide value and quality for the money you are paying for their product. Do not pass this place up. Outstanding. read more

How special can a turkey sandwich really be? Neapolitan Gourmet proves it can be VERY special by slicing it fresh, using no preservatives, and serving it on a crunchy & delicious Italian hoagie. Combine that with expertly made cookies, biscotti, sauces, and pastas to take with you, and you're in for a treat. Plus, the owner was so generous with our 2 year-old and our dog; sharing fresh cookies and bringing our baby girl her own bowl of water. You need to get there! read more

Coming into this place I had very high expectations as the sign on the front window said "The best subs in town"and a fellow yelper raved about their subs. Neapolitan Gourmet is a small Italian Grocery and Deli store located off Pine Ridge Road and Airport in the Bed Bath and Beyond plaza. They sell authentic Italian imported items from their array of canned tomatoes to pastas to EVOO. The owners pride themselves on making many of their products in house with homemade sausages, marinara sauces, pre made cutlets, mozzarella, lasagnas and cut to order homemade subs. I was immediately greeted by the owner, Vinny who was very cordial and made you feel at home. You could tell he prides himself on the quality of products he sells and was very informative of what they had to offer. He even had me try their homemade sausage with broccoli rabe which was delicious! I ordered the Italian Sub with Capicola, Ham, Salami and Geno along with lettuce, tomato, onion, cherry peppers, provolone and home made mozzarella. Everything was sliced to order including the toppings. The bread was rustic while light and airy on the inside that was a perfect canvas to hold all the ingredients. I rarely give out 5 stars because it's hard to find a place that can provide quality, value, cleanliness, great customer service/friendliness and offerings, but this place was well deserving of each of those criteria's. The sub was phenomenal and lived up to the sign and agree, it's the best sub in town! I highly recommend this place and will be back again soon. Thank you, Vinny for your hospitality and service! read more
