Sometimes all it takes is good company. I have a friend who lives out in the burbs and wanted to meet up for a brunch date, so we picked Buttermilk. This place was popping up on a weekday with quite a line. After the 20 min wait, I was sat at a booth-style table and greeted by a kind, enthusiastic waiter who got me a cup of coffee while I waited for my guest to arrive. I love the lively environment and interior of buttermilk. This place a lot of forward motion on it. When my guest arrived, I ordered two eggs with potatoes think turkey sausage, but the main dish was the cinnamon roll pancakes. My date got the skillet which she enjoyed very much so. This is one of her fav spots. Being my first time, I was impressed with the meal. I wished the pancakes were smaller, but that's just my preference. I'm sure anyone else will love these pancakes. We arrived shortly after opening for the day - the staff was friendly and ready with the coffee. The pancakes are delicious and are the size of the plate! We were stuffed and asked for a box to take the leftovers of pancakes for our flight. Our server gave us a small container of syrup. I called our waiter who was rushing out of the room and asked where our order was. He said "2 minutes". I've driven by Buttermilk a number of times, so when deciding where to go on this beautiful Sunday morning, I thought I'd give it a go. It's a simple looking restaurant from outside with a nice, but small outdoor seating area. But inside it's pretty cool. I arrived shortly after the 7am opening so very few people where inside. But before we left, the restaurant had a great deal of families, couples and what looked to be friends. The booth was comfortable, and the coffee bar looked cool. Even the ceiling was nice as an industrial look. I tried the Corned Beef Hash N Eggs. The eggs where cooked to perfection, served with chunks of corned beef and combined with onions, green and red peppers, along with crispy potatoes. Interesting combination and tasty. I also chose the side of pancakes. They were just ok, not exactly like the description: slight and Fluffy and full of awesomeness. If there is a next time, I'll be sure to get the biscuit and gravy side. My wife had the French Toast, which to my taste was great. Simple but tasty, and the best part was the warm syrup. Our server was Amy, very pleasant and began very attentive. She checked once with us to see how things were, but a long time to get the check. Seemed to be a little distracted and didn't check with us for a long time. May have been daily new. So I would say the service was ok. She was very pleasant when we did interact. They have a look of space so there's are usually many options open for seating. The service was also really nice. This is the best brunch place in the Naperville area. It's got really good brunch foods and everything I've tried has been good. Not everything is worth the price though in my opinion, and sometimes the wait is way too long. Their French toasts have consistently been a hit for me, and their salmon Benedict is delicious although a bit pricey in my opinion. I got their salt and vinegar cracklings and honestly was very underwhelmed - it's just roasted potatoes with salt and vinegar. I would skip it next time and get some other side. I always monitor the wait times through Yelp and add myself and my group to the wait list in advance before getting to the restaurant. Even on weekdays it is crowded and if you wait to get to the restaurant to join the waitlist, the wait time is almost always not worth it. A must visit breakfast and brunch spot. Such a clean, fresh, country vibe with a hint of modern feel. The portion sizes are enormous for a great price. The coffee drink were excellent for a coffee lover. They had this mimos flight that I cannot stop talking about. Who knew Mezcal and Mimosas would pair so well together. Everything we had was exceptional. It was also easy to access from the freeway and the perfect stop on the way home. Got in quick but the place was busy. Food was delicious and service was fast.
