Came in here on a thursday morning/afternoon, was sat fairly quickly by one of the waitresses. We ordered appetizers and were planning to order more food, but we noticed the waitress who sat us sat a bunch more people parallel to us who came in 15-20 minutes after us - receiving their food before us. We only got wings and onion rings- we were serviced last. We decided to get the check because the quality of service was terrible while the customers sitting across from us were receiving quality service and multiple check ins unlike us. We felt embarrassed because of this and left early shortly after. It was our first time in and more than likely our last. We were looking for a new brunch place in the area so I guess we'll keep searching. read more

You know what? I LOVE that good ol' Buttercup! There's just no other way to put it. Buttercup is hands down one of my favorite diners around! They are consistent on all levels, and they just never cease to amaze me. I've been here countless times for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even on Holidays, and not once have I ever had a bad experience! I keep waiting for the day that they will fail me like how they have in other reviews, but they just continue to impress me every single time. As far as their breakfast items go, just about anything is fair game here. I love their omelettes and their BISCUITS! Oh my! They make a stellar French toast and their breakfast potatoes are always on point! They also have a bar and I love the different mimosas that they come up with. I'm addicted to their house salad! It's just a simple side salad, but I have to get it every time that I go there. I even get it for breakfast. Yes, I'm a weirdo but that salad is delicious! Their entree dishes are exceptional too! Any type of seafood dish served here is a winner. I also thoroughly enjoy their chicken champagne dish. I almost never order chicken entrees from American restaurants, but I will happily order it here. I cannot forget about their amazing PIE! Their banana cream pie is hands down some of the BEST that I've ever have! It ranks right up there with Nation's and y'all know Nations has some delicious pies! I've signed up for their rewards program, and they offer me a free slice of pie every year for my birthday. The service is excellent! Whether I'm sitting in the dining room or at the bar, I've always received the same great service. The staff is super fun and friendly! What I also really appreciate about Buttercup is that they are open on most Major holidays! It's a great option if you don't want to cook at home during the Holidays. It's gone down. Was much better in the past. Going on and off for 22 years. Service is still the best part. Prime rib dish was my go-to, lately it's been inconsistent. Also pies are no longer worth the cost. I realize raw material costs more. Still can't justify buying 3 pies for $147 for Christmas. read more

Blown away this last weekend. We had a large family gathering and figured we'd give it a shot and see if Buttercup could potentially accommodate as it central to several of our guests and we know the food is consistent. We made an excellent choice. We came Saturday evening right at dinner time. They were busy, but our entire party could not tell. We were greeted promptly and drinks came out quick. Manager was lovely and assisted her team with ease. The team at Buttercup did not miss a beat; from the delivery of hot food, to clean utensils, pre bussing dirty plates, to timely dessert delivery...our family truly had a memorable dinner. I have passed by Buttercup several times and didn't even know it existed... Thanks to a friend, she introduced me to Buttercup in which I had a good brunch experience! First of all, don't let the exterior fool you. It does looks a bit outdated from the outside, but I believe they recently renovated the interior. It was nice and clean, and very spacious. My friend and I arrived around 11am and we were quickly seated despite the weekend crowd. I ordered the Buttercup Classic Breakfast, while my friend ordered the Linguica Benedict. I really enjoyed my order. It comes with two eggs, four pieces of bacon (can be replaced with sausage or you can do half and half at no extra charge), choice of hash brown or O'Brien Potatoes, and toast. It's your classic breakfast and it definitely hit the spot! My friend enjoyed her order, as well which also comes with a nice bowl of fruits. Overall, food was good and exceeded my expectations. Prices were reasonable given that portion sizes were hearty. Service was good, it wasn't the best but I don't blame our server as it was busy at that time. We came here for dinner after a day hike at the Lime Ridge Open Space. The restaurant was nice and clean. They have a great selection of various food, salad, sandwiches, burgers, fettuccine...The service was super, they helpfully split bills for our group, and the bill came with a QR code that I was able to easily scan and pay. I ordered the Mushroom Onion Burger with curly fries. The meat was fresh but the burger was not very tasty, the curly fries were a little bit too salty for me. First things first. I got the Belgian waffle and added on bacon and eggs. The Belgian waffle was good. But here it is, folks. The bacon (I had 2 pieces and one fell on the floor so the server gave me 3-4 more pieces to replace it) was INCREDIBLE! If y'all have ever seen Ratatouille, this was the part where the critic remembered being a child again. Something so amazing that it takes you back to a time when things were just better. It was the PERFECT crispiness. The eggs were stellar, with the whites done and the yolks runny. Our server was also fantastic. The service and host were nice. We were seated relatively quick. The bathroom was clean. The food came at the right temperature and not greasy, and the condiments bottles were not dirty ( which is typical on lots of restaurants with their ketchup bottle being dirty from lack of wipe down at the end of the night. Great breakfast spot. Food is always consistent , no matter the time or day or how busy they are. Large portions fairly decent sized menu. A few vegetarian friendly items but not too many "healthy" options. (4 stars) Try the pie!! I'm a huge fan of Costco pumpkin pie, but decided to try ButtercuP's "famous" pumpkin pie this year for Thanksgiving .... AMAZING. The upside down apple walnut pie is delicious as well. This was a cute place but nothing special. The service was nice and my boyfriend had the brilliant idea of getting a Belgian waffle and topping it with a poached egg and hollandaise sauce! The only thing I don't like is when restaurants don't tell you what the up-charge is for a side like a hollandaise sauce. I got the egg burrito which had a pathetic excuse of guacamole on it. It was a smidge and I understand why they only gave me a little..it was bad!! It tasted old that I ended up having to scrape it off :( they could have at least compensated with more sour cream but that was barley on it either. Terrible terrible terrible. The customer service here is terrible. I wish I could give a ZERO star review because the way I was treated by the "assistant manager, " Michelle Nance, was disgusting!!!! She was condescending and rude. She talked to me like I was a child and I could not believe this place would have someone like her be an assistant manager. She blames her "service" on the owner, Benjamin A. Shahvar, and stated that he was the reasoning behind her service. Or lack of service I should say. Oh my gosh what happened to Buttercup?? We used to love their food. The last few times we have come here the food has been terrible. Tonight was the worst. I wish I would have read these reviews first. Someone else had a similar problem. I was asked how I wanted my burger patty cooked. I said medium. What came out was a charred, inedible burger with undercooked French fries. I was shocked! The time before my chicken was undercooked. My son wouldn't even touch his grilled cheese. Also burnt. They have definitely changed chefs within the last six months. I guess we have to cross off Buttercup from our rotation of restaurants. Sad day for this girl! read more
