    Bathroom floor tile, basket, weave.

We first hired Busk brothers in 2012, when we were redoing our kitchen in the peninsula, we put in limestone floors and they did a fantastic job. They were on time, professional, and great to work with, we left the peninsula in 2018 to move back to the East Bay we had them gut and redo our downstairs bathroom, they did a beautiful job... So, we hired them for our kitchen remodel in 2020 ....soon we will be renovating our upstairs fireplace and will be hiring them again, plus they know how to work with custom tile, and Michael did a fantastic job with our custom handpainted tiles.

    What I needed help with

Amazing work done by Michael and Busk Brothers. From initial contact, work estimate, execution, and customer service can't be better. I called Michael to come take a look at my bathroom floor because I ended up exposing some damage subflooring. Not only did he promptly respond to my inquiry and came out on time (which is surprisingly hard for many contractors), he gave me a transparent estimate of the work that needed to be done (while several contractors tried to upsell entire bathroom remodels). What I loved about Michael is that he tells you what he would do if it was his home. He originally quoted me a very reasonable quote, and after he fixed my subfloor situation, I asked if I could pay him extra to finish out the floor tiling and add baseboards. He again gave me a very reasonable quote and was able to get the entire job done within 2 days. There were moments Michael went above and beyond. For example, there was a door in my bathroom that didn't close due to the new floor height, but Michael trimmed my door without asking for more. As a realtor, I will 100% be reaching out and referring business this team.

Michael from Busk Bros essentially acted as our general contractor for a bathroom remodel. He came highly recommended to us from our neighbors who'd done work with him. He did the demo of our old bathroom space and did all the tile work. He also recommended the plumber we worked with too, who was awesome. The project took two weeks. He was great to work with and reasonably priced - we had contacted about five places and he was the most affordable.

Michael's tiling craft! Bathroom still under construction.

I am enamored by Michael and Eric's tile work. I am thoroughly impressed by their professionalism, timeliness, communication and design advice/problem solving skills. My contractor before I hired the Busk Brothers messed up my shower bathroom so bad that I was left traumatized. I called Busk Brothers, and was able to make an appointment for a quote a week later. Michael reassured me that they make sure everything is water tight and everything will be beautiful. I had called other tile contractors but the few who I called either didn't respond or said they only did commercial work. I was delighted that Michael was able to take my project on within my budget. Although there was a wait time, I didn't mind as long as I had someone who knows their craft and tile my bathroom right. Michael works methodically and communicated with me throughout the project. I was happy to see that his work matched what YouTube tile contractors work and steps were. It really reassured me that he is a professional tiler. Overall, I am so delighted with The Busk Brothers' work! A plus is that they are local. I would definitely hire them again if I have tiling projects I can't handle. (I'm a DIYer but know when I need to hire a pro) I will now have a bathroom to enjoy for years to come. Thank you so much!

    Tiled from bathroom into closet.

Busk Brothers helped us gut and remodel two bathrooms this past summer. They were professional, punctual, responsive, clean, and honest. They helped refer us to a plumber, electritian and painter which we needed for our project. I appreciate how detailed Michael was with leveling our floor and how all of the tile and grout lines are seamless both horizontally and vertically. I appreciate his help and opinion in recommending a few products and giving options for things like Schluter and grout. Both Michael and Eric were a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend them and can't wait for our next project to have them back!

I couldn't be happier with the work that Busk Brothers did on my bathroom floor and shower surround. I'm an architect and I ask a lot when it comes to details and precision; Michael more than met these requests. He was careful, planned out the job well to avoid problems, let me know when there was a choice to be made, and had good input on how to make the details work. For a shampoo niche, he cut 6x6 tiles out of a larger slab of marble and then laid out the tiles so that the grain of the marble continued from one tile to the next. I had a few followup concerns that were outside of the scope of the original project and he returned to take care of them for no charge. Beyond doing a great job, the brothers are pleasant, prompt, and good communicators (so important!)

Flexibility and a 'Can do' attitude is what these guys brought to our little bathroom job. There's a long history with getting this bathroom done mostly due to lack of funds. Basically, another guy started the job and when it was time to finish the job, we had contractors and handy-men come in to check it out who would simply shake their heads and tell us we had to tear it all out and start from scratch. That is until I contacted Michael Busk. Michael gave me a quick, accurate estimate which landed well below the estimate I had in my head and we were able to arrange a start date that probably worked better for me than with them. Michael's brother Eric showed up on the pre-arranged date and got right to work. There wasn't any head shaking or scare-tactics or complaining (I've heard a LOT of complaining coming out of that stupid little bathroom...subway tile isn't exactly user friendly). Eric and his boy, Mikey, worked diligently in the tiny little space and were able to complete the job in just a coupla-few days. There were two change orders which didn't surprise me...completing the floor (not in the original estimate) and fixing the slope of the shower-pan (Eric discovered this issue during the course of the job). The additional cost still fell well under the estimate that I had previously established in my head. The work turned out better than I expected or hoped. The area was kept clean. They went about their work professionally. Eric let me know that a phone call is all it would take to get him back in there should there be a problem. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys to anyone nor would I hesitate to put them to work on any of my future projects.

The Busk Bros did an amazing job with the backsplash in the kitchen.

Overall the experience was very good; Elijah and Bryan were super friendly and responsive. Eli was very patient and accommodating as we discussed several different potential change orders, from new windows to painting, to other misc. things that popped up. Bryan Luna was especially a pleasure to work with. His attention to detail and proactivity to solve any little thing I mentioned was definitely the highlight of working with Prime. Their contracted electrician, Hector, was great as well. I also think they did a great job building out a cabinet to fit our freezer next to the matching fridge. Their master carpenter managed to salvage our existing wood to make it match perfectly. Definitely better than what I'd expect from even a carpentry specialty contractor. I will mention that it wasn't without some snags. Prime deals in volume so they're very busy. I think because I had delays in sourcing a freezer I ended up not getting a dedicated project manager for some time. We had timeline issues made worse with holidays. This caused cascading delays which inevitably pushed back my move in date a few weeks. When I finally did get a new project manager, they ghosted me (later on I found out they had a family emergency). Eli had to step in again to help. Another thing is that their pricing is quite opaque. The estimate will break down prices by milestones, but they repeated told me that it's not a valuation of the milestone itself. This made it nigh impossible to understand if I wanted to contract out specific pieces of the project (e.g. flooring). Design was OK. I felt that the designer was very busy. Sometimes very responsive (5min replies), sometimes not responsive at all (no reply). I wish I had a better, more thorough back-and-forth session about the intricacies of the design. But we made do. Ultimately, the designer made a render and helped point us to some vendors, but from there we had to make our own selection alone (cabinets, handles, pendant lights, faucets, etc.). I did appreciate her presence when we picked out countertops, though. All in all, I think this was a 4.5 star job, but I'm rounding to 5 because of Eli and Bryan :)

Overall, the project went well, and we're happy with the final results. Bryan, our foreman, was a strong asset to the project. Even though he was managing multiple jobs at the same time, his responsiveness and willingness to go out of his way to address our concerns made a big difference. Because we were home throughout the process, we were able to catch issues early and communicate them directly to Bryan, who consistently followed through to resolve them. What Went Well: * The tile and flooring subcontractors were excellent - their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly stood out. * Bryan, our foreman, was responsive to texts and phone calls, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed. He even designed a bi-fold closet door for us, and helped pick up all the material to build it. * Bryan also took the initiative to handle several unfinished items himself, which we really appreciated. * The post-build cleaners were top-notch and left the space in pristine condition. * Throughout the project, everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and conscientious. There were no conflicts or issues, which made the experience comfortable for us. Areas for Improvement: * The timeline was a pain point. While we were originally told the project would take 6-8 weeks, it ended up stretching to 12 weeks. * The design process fell short of expectations. Because Prime's in-house designers weren't available, our design work was outsourced. We only received a full design package for the master bathroom. As a result, we ended up creating our own renderings for the other rooms to help communicate our vision to the team. That said, we were very happy with the design and material selections for the master bathroom they did complete. We just wish the same level of attention and design support had been provided for the rest of the project. * At times, resource availability was limited, likely due to workers being assigned to multiple jobs. This led to workflow inefficiencies and delays. Toward the end of our renovation, our foreman Bryan had to personally step in to complete several tasks, such as installing faucets, shelving, and baseboards. He managed to get it done in between site visits and meetings, which we appreciated, but it also highlighted a lack of available crew to close out the project. Despite these few challenges, the quality of the work met our expectations. We appreciated the team's effort and the final outcome.

Owning an older home comes with inevitable surprises, so we wanted a team who could problem-solve creatively. That's where Liran shined. We brought some ideas to the table, and he offered alternative solutions that made far more sense for how we live--solutions we loved. Designers were brought in to prepare plans and permits, and the work began. Our project manager, Adi, was one of the kindest, most attentive people I've ever worked with. He stayed in constant contact, visited the site frequently, and ensured every detail met extremely high standards. It became a running joke between us about changing their slogan to "quality you can afford"--he humored me, and it perfectly captures the team's approach. The craftsmanship from Flavio, the lead contractor, was exceptional. We didn't pick the easiest designs, but the finished primary bathroom shower tile is genuinely a work of art--everyone who sees it comments on it. We also can't forget "Muscle Memo", who handled all the heavy lifting--climbing through dusty attics, crawling under grimy crawl spaces, and tackling the toughest physical work. His effort made the project run smoothly and safely. Adding to the charm, the team brought their own portable bathroom, which hilariously became a little local attraction--neighbors and passersby would sometimes "need to go," and we all shared a laugh over it. LB went above and beyond by addressing problem areas that weren't part of the original scope, with no extra charge, just to ensure the house looked perfect. They even brought in a professional cleaning crew, leaving our home cleaner than when the project started--a rare and deeply appreciated touch. I was definitely persuaded by these reviews - and now will question every business that has 5 star reviews. Do your homework and don't be fooled. Project took much longer than what it should have because they were disorganized and would forget certain things (the foreman would even admit that the PM should have told me certain things!) that I would have imagined a contractor had down pat in terms of sequencing. They use some subcontractors and you are at the mercy of their schedules. They just are not organized (you will do a lot of the reminding, checking in, following up, and certain things still may not happen). They failed inspections meaning more cost (it is their job to pass these! It says this in any contract!) If it seemed as though I was questioning something, the PM got defensive and sometimes unprofessional, gaslighting me in a very aggressive manner. I saved the communication, in fact. The people I worked with directly were young and it showed in the almost-too-casual style of communication and lack of professionalism. I surrendered towards the end and just wanted the project done and everyone gone. I feel completely foolish that I went with the significantly higher estimate thinking it would offer a smooth, superior experience. The actual people who did the work worked hard though and did nice work - hence the two stars. But at the end of the day, it's actually hard to enjoy the work as I am reminded by the months of bad experiences - up to the very end. You can find more experienced contractors out there for equal quality of workmanship and for a more competitive price. I am using a different contractor now for other work at the property - it's a 180 degree difference - they have a dedicated team for my project, meaning time to completion is more accurate and on time; they have a dedicated person to procure the finishes and fixtures, not myself; they are way more organized and even provided me a timeline of what to expect and communicate with me what time they are showing up and what progress was made that day (!!); they are bringing a truly expert eye with attention to detail that ELEVATES the space and are teaching me to ask things I didn't even know I should KNOW to ask; and most importantly, I feel truly comfortable asking questions without defensiveness and aggressive steamrolling in their answers. I received none of this level of care or expertise with MHR, and I want you to know that you should expect these things!!!

We also smoothed and painted all walls (level 4) and installed new hardwood floors throughout the entire house. We also did some additional work to remodel our fireplace. We spent several hours with each contractor. In the end, we picked Gilor because we really liked the project manager / founder Or Haim, who personally managed the project and had significantly more experience than the other project managers we met. Kitchen Remodel We had a grounds up kitchen remodel. Before any work began, they worked closely with our architect to fully understand the plans before execution -- which made a huge difference. When it came to the structural work, they made sure to do it right. In fact, when our kitchen designer came to take measurements, she commented that it was clear our contractor knew exactly what he was doing and had put in a proper structural support and framing. This was critical because we were installing posts and load-bearing beams that were recessed and flush. They were meticulous in laying out the electrical and re-routing all the plumbing -- gas lines, water lines, you name it. They also added additional blocking to accommodate our cabinet layouts and appliance dimensions before sheet-rocking the kitchen. They spoke with our kitchen designer to verify the height at which our wall cabinets would be hung and made sure blocking was there and that there would be no interference with electrical or plumbing. They were reading the dimensions of all the appliances before installing cabinets so that the spacing was exact. Our counter-depth fridge fit in flush with the cabinets. On top of that, they proactively adjusted the kitchen window height because they pre-planned and knew it would become an issue down the road -- our countertop would have ended up higher than the window sill if they hadn't caught it. That kind of foresight is rare and saved us from a costly fix later. We had many requirements and high-end finishes that required extra care and expertise to install: recessed outlets, a touch-enabled faucet, an in-line attic vent hood blower, a microwave drawer, a reverse osmosis water system, smart dimmers, and Fittes/Aria vents. You really need a contractor who knows his stuff for this kind of work, because the last thing you want is an incorrect installation that ends up costing you more money. Our countertops were beautiful, and they really elevated it by doing seamless 2-inch thick bullnose w/ miter edges and waterfalls for our kitchen island. We also used countertops as the kitchen backsplash from counter to ceiling, which really gave it a clean finished look. It's these smaller things you don't think about where they do an amazing job and really differentiates your kitchen vs. others that just go through the standard run-of-mill remodels. Bathroom Remodel Our bathroom was equally demanding. We went with ultra-large 48-inch tiles, miter edges with epoxy in the shampoo niche (rather than standard metal edges), a linear shower drain, a smart toilet, a floating vanity, and relocated plumbing lines. Everything was executed with precision and care, and the finished result looks stunning. Fireplace Remodel We had original brick fireplace that was fairly dated. So the team covered it in porcelain slabs (10ft slabs) for a modern look. It was mitered and therefore had no seams. They also replaced the aging gas line and installed a remote controlled gas fireplace that would fit into the existing space. Craftsmanship & Integrity Our remodel went on longer than we expected (7 months), but the quality was outstanding. Gilor Group did not disappoint. Their team on-site -- Jesus, Gilbert, Joel, and others -- all did an amazing job. They were easy to communicate with. They were also meticulous about cleaning up the job site every day. I also want to highlight Gilor's fabricator and hardwood floor installer, which truly made them a one-stop shop for us. We had many waterfalls in our kitchen, and the fabricator did an incredible job -- the seams were literally invisible. The hardwood floor installation was also beautifully done. We used ultra-wide floors (9.5 inches), which are more difficult to install (can't just use nails). I know the installation was done right because we used a laser to check the lines and the floors were straight across a 40 ft length. If you're looking for a contractor group that you can trust to work independently, deliver quality work, and have experienced project managers on-site daily -- look no further. We are so grateful for the entire Gilor team and couldn't be happier with how our home turned out. We would work with Gilor Group again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them. Our pictures speak for themselves.

The roof was crushed, part of the structure separated, and we lost power for nearly a week. It was a stressful situation, and they handled it. They repaired all of the damage and still completed the full project within budget. That alone says a lot about how they run their jobs. Or Haim, the owner, is very communicative and genuinely cares about making sure everything meets expectations. That level of involvement made a difference. The fantastic onsite team was led by Jesus, who treated the project like it was his own home. He was thoughtful, detail-oriented, and clearly took pride in the work. We would absolutely hire Gilor again and are happy to serve as a reference.

His team is resourceful and they did not generate excessive work to add cost. For our kitchen / laundry facelift, we updated the flooring, backsplash, lighting, and reconfigured our laundry area. George's crew helped to side vent the dryer which the big box store was unable to do. George gave valuable input on our bathroom design to optimize the small space. He had suggestions for an in-wall toilet, a corner sink, window ledge niche, and talked us out of a doorless shower (thank you!). He knows small spaces very well and was able to place the fixtures in their best locations. George would give us a heads up on our requests that were going to cost more than ~1k. He had some subcontractors come in to help with varying degrees of quality and cleanliness. We are glad he managed the plumbing contractor who had to come back 3 times. His paint jobs varied quite a bit in consistency depending on who was painting. The best part of working with George was that we were expecting our first child, and he worked very hard to complete the project before her due date. George was always quick to respond to any of my texts and emails no matter what the news may be. Our bathroom needed a complete teardown to expanding one wall out an additional foot. His crew was outstanding whether it be reconstruction of a wall, plumbing, electrical, painting or cleanliness. And to complement George's crew, he uses highly skilled third-party specialty contractors, such as, for our custom shower install. What amaze us most was how the work was all done as seamless as possible by being creative and resourceful at solving any potential obstacles or issues. We are looking to hiring George and his crew again on another project.
