We got the floors in our 99 year old house refinished, and Dale was great every step of the way! He responded very promptly to my inquiry, and took the time both over the phone and in person to explain his process. On top of that, his knowledge and expertise were very evident. If I could give Dale and his team more than 5 stars I would! One thing I can say for sure is that I will only ever use Swirsdings for any floor services, hands down. What set Dale apart was his extreme attention to detail. We had him finish three rooms of hardwood flooring as well as fix some water damaged sections. We also had some really bad nailing done previously as well as some boards that were literally popping out. The result was nothing less than perfect! Dale himself was there every day, inspecting nails, doing the work and ensuring everything came out as well it could. The floors honestly look brand new. He also answered all my questions after the fact to ensure they stayed in this condition. Dale was more expensive than our other quotes, but in this case I can confidently say you get what you pay for. My only regret is that I had previously done my other floors with a different company, and those look much worse. Had I known about Swirsdings, I would have had them do my whole house. WOW!!! Dale and Hector are amazing. We had the worst squeaky hardwood floors. They look great, but they squeaked like crazy. I was originally skeptical that we'd have large holes from the likes of countersnap and needing hundreds of them. The results were completely the opposite. Dale added more nails where there were squeaks at the joists until the noise was gone. The results are impressive! 90-95% of our squeaks are gone. The extra nails are rarely noticeable. We had a pipe burst in our house and water coved almost two of three floors. Our favorite feature of the house (hardwood floors) was seemingly ruined. We had several companies bid on the project, but Dale was the only one that got down on his knees to look at the floor, requested we remove a grate to check the thickness of the floor. He taught us a lot about the how and why we liked out 1940's floor better than even new floors. Ask him about the dots... I was onsite during the duration of the project working on other repairs. I hired him and his crew to repair a deep gouge, a scratched area, and a third scuffed area on my hardwood floor. There was also some squeaking to be fixed. They showed up right on time and got to work after explaining what was going to happen. I needed to leave early, but I felt safe leaving them to work and having them lock up when they were done. After some water damage to our floors, we knew we had to call back Dale to restore them. He had restored the flooring in the entire house previously and done a meticulous job. He did not disappoint. Once again, Dale and Hector worked their magic on the repairs, minimizing cost by limiting the areas they treated (not wasting time on undamaged parts) and yet still magically keeping the seams from refinished to not refinished areas pretty much unnoticeable. And of course, they included a few extras (like touching up the stair edges) while they were there, at no additional cost. They are not cheap, but they are fair, and work very hard to keep to a reasonable budget. Quality of work and communications are terrific. They fit us in on fairly short notice and were as accommodating as they could be on schedule - having the work done in time for Thanksgiving guests. They took time to advise us on things we could do to minimize future damage to the floors. And they didn't go overboard recommending work that didn't need to be done - in fact they even talked us out of part of the work with good reason. This floor service is pretty much perfect in every respect. Dale Swirsding and his assistant Hector did a magnificent job on our floors. The task was not an easy one as they had to match the stain to the section of floor that was not being done. They were great from the start. Dale promptly arrived for the initial visit and quickly got us a detailed quote. Once we signed on he worked with us to schedule the work, and we were able to have him come when we needed him, which was relatively quickly. When the work was to begin, Dale kept us notified as to when they would arrive, and, once there, carefully explained the process. He helped us navigate the issue of keeping off the floors for the duration (our kitchen and family room were being done--the two busiest rooms in our house) and so kept our inconvenience to a minimum.
