Immaculate showroom and great customer service. If you need to re-carpet a spiral staircase, this is your best option. You can pick any carpet available and they will make your treads. I'd been looking online for months! We brought in our old carpet to use as a pattern, but they can measure, cut, bind, and install. Thank you! read more

Gilbert measured and carpeted two-story house. He was punctual and communication was great. Scheduling was stress-free. Tradeway has a huge showroom with amazing choices for carpet and hard/vinyl surfaces. Darryl and his team were great to work with. Fair pricing too. read more

This is the second time I have used Tradeway Flooring for carpet in my home. The customer service (Darryl) is beyond excellent. The prices are right and best of all - the removal of old carpet and installation of the new is way less than any where else, and is quality workmanship. Highly recommend this place. read more

I've bought flooring from Tradeway for two homes now. Tradeway has the most comprehensive selection of different flooring options - carpet, tile, LVP, engineered hardwood, etc. so I only need to go to Tradeway to find what I need. The prices are always the best when I compare them with other flooring companies. Darryl and his team are wonderful. The communication is excellent while waiting for our flooring to arrive and they even were able to deliver the product (which would not have fit in my truck as it was a big order). Recently the manufacturer sent the wrong type of stair bullnose and Darryl fixed the issue very quickly, even had someone on his team drive to Sacramento to pick up the pieces we needed for our project. Exceptional service. Highly recommend. Image of recent install, luxury vinyl plank: Citadel Castle. read more

Lots of choices, styles, colors, sizes. Helpful staff. Find exactly what you're looking for.

I have been using Tradeway as my 'go to' carpet and flooring vendor for 15 years, most recently for something relatively small but special in buying several area rugs that would be bound. This time, not a remnant but new carpeting I was looking for -- and they have a beautiful selection. (It's taken me 3 months to come to a decision. They have been totally non-pressuring!) What I love about Darrell (the Manager') and Daniel (the 'on floor' person) 1) their very informative, educating of the customer (in this case, Me) about carpeting...so you can make a truly informed decision, and then 2) their working with you to give you swatches to take home, check out...with no pressure to close the sale unless and until YOU are truly satisfied. 3) their genuine warm personas -- each just professional, personal and lovely to work with. (I've been using Tradeway for nearly 15 years, literally from when I arrived on the West Coast and needed to cover some of the floors in my Kensington home...discovering not only their wonderfully priced remnants and new flooring but these two gems of people in the process!) While they don't have as many remnants as in the old warehouse (what they had was beyond anything else in the region...what they have now is easier to see, all on one floor, still a great deal...and more organized.) read more

Very impressed with the selection and knowledge of the rugs being sold at Tradeway. The owner is very interested to please, and relies more on quality service and value than pressure sales tactics. So happy to have found Tradeway Flooring. read more

LOVE this place. I've been a Tradeway enthusiast for.....12 years (?) now. As anyone shopping for carpet knows, quality can be pricey. This is the beautiful gem of a compromise where you can honestly make your vision come alive without insane pricing if you have a vision and are willing to put in some time. I haven't ordered custom carpeting or flooring to be installed, but I LOVE going to check out their remnants and creating area rugs. You can sort through the rolls, find something you like, and have it bound custom to literally the square inch that you want. WHAT?! I've done four different installs this way - all beautiful pieces that just completely enhance and change the room, and that have transitioned into my next home each time. Listen to me referring to the carpet as "pieces!" but seriously, I love this place. It's a bit out there in Richmond but I've been willing to drive all over the Bay Area to get what I wanted. I always find something that will work and the pricing can't be beat. I also get my padding from here - super high quality and it LASTS. I haven't had to replace any of it in the 12 years I've been coming here, and they have pet/kid/moisture barrier padding if you need that too. Mr. Johnson and Daniel are fantastic. Items are delivered on time, communication is excellent, prices are affordable. Definitely consider this option! read more

WOW. Can I give Tradeway (& Daryl) 10 stars?!?! I mean let me tell you... First - absolute best customer service I have encountered in years. Not only is Daryl helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly but not at one single point did I feel pressured for a sale. In fact he wanted me to think about it before I just whipped out a credit card. He was super kind and even cut a piece down for an odd shaped room of mine, and rolled it so it could fit in my wannabe soccer mom car. He also stayed late on 2 occasions because I couldn't get there in time due to work. Can't even tell you how appreciative and thankful I am. Next - hot damn these are good prices. I promise you will not find a place even remarkably close in the deals he is offering. Also selection is HUGE. Endless amount of carpet rolls of all sizes, colors, pile, design, style, prices, etc. Basically I can't wait til I need carpet again so I can come back!! read more

Top notch service from Daryl and his colleague!! They were so nice, responsive and reliable. They got me the best price on my luxury vinyl flooring among many stores I called. Superb customer service! Daryl at Tradeway is honest, and provides you excellent service whether it is for your house or your business. I have used him for both and can not recommend Tradeway more highly. (and he will not try to upsell you on flooring you don't need) Thank you, Darryl! read more

My husband and I had been talking for months about redoing the flooring in a hallway in our home, but one of our big obstacles was what flooring/carpeting company to go with. I am so unbelievably thankful we found Tradeway Flooring. Darryl Johnson, and his right-hand man, Daniel, were so welcoming from the day we first walked into this huge, gigantic warehouse of flooring material - everything you can imagine. Even though our hallway job was small, they helped guide us through the different types of flooring, things to consider when choosing a flooring material, and how to pick out the right color and shade of flooring based on the size and amount of light in the hallway. We were able to bring home samples and swapped these out a few times in the process of choosing just the right color/pattern/composition for our hallway. We made an appointment with the installer, Martine, who also helped guide us through what to expect. We made a date for the installation, and all went perfectly. We love our hallway floor. The next flooring project we have, we will use Tradeway Flooring. These folks are the best! read more

I came in looking for some carpet scraps to recarpet my cats' scratching post. This place is the best! My request was probably not their usual, but I was greeted warmly at the door, asked how big of a piece I needed, and he picked out the perfect piece for me. Highly recommended! read more

This place has been in existence for YEARS. I visited way back when I lived in San Pablo, almost 20 years ago, and the customer service was excellent then. When I decided to change the area carpet in my living room, I remembered how well I was treated way back when, so I went to Tradeway a couple of Saturdays ago, and I was welcomed like a member of the family! The new owner Daryl, and his experienced helper Daniel, gave me individualized attention while I took forever looking for the right size, color and texture of what I wanted. Both Daryl and Daniel told me to take my time because I shouldn't just like it, I should love it! There are two floors of carpet remnants, and full rolls of carpet that can be quite overwhelming to take in, but the quality and beauty of their products are amazing. I finally found the perfect carpet for my living room, and Daryl offered their binding services at a very reasonable price. My carpet was ready the next weekend, and Daniel tied the roll onto the roof of my car so that it didn't BUDGE all the way home to Berkeley! I cannot stress how wonderful this business is, and how affordable their products are. My front room looks inviting and comfortable, and the carpet fits perfectly. Thank you Tradeway!! read more

We needed vinyl flooring and carpet for our new house in Vallejo, and went to see Darryl after seeing great reviews on Yelp. The reviews tell the truth! They are fantastic. Darryl explains the various types of carpet and flooring and then leaves you to look around. There is no pressure to buy, not at all. He has great installers as well. Really recommend Tradeway! We will absolutely be back when we need more flooring or carpet, and happily will recommend them to anyone. read more

This flooring purchase is the fourth or fifth time we have used Tradeway. Darryl and Daniel always offer exceptional service, quality products, and the best pricing. Tradeway is located in a large warehouse in Richmond, and has an immense selection of high-quality rugs spread over 2 floors and if you are looking for a place to buy high-quality rugs at very reasonable prices with fantastic customer service, look no farther. Daniel was patient and knowledgeable, which was a huge help for a first time carpet buyer like myself. I had a great experience with Tradeway Flooring! I know nothing about carpet and this was my first time purchasing. Darryl was very helpful, knowledgeable, and available, and he was able to get me a discounted price on good carpet and padding since I was a first time homebuyer. He gave me a better quote (maybe ~$100 cheaper) than some other places I had spoken too. It was also very easy to schedule a carpet installation with their installer, Mike. I paid separately for the carpet and the installation and had positive experiences with both. read more

A lesser man may have turned back on his journey for carpet gold as he traversed the seedy side of Richmond to the mecca of carpet stores - Tradeway Carpet Outlet. As I exited the highway, I passed not one but three discarded mattresses on the side of the road - it was as if the mattresses traveled here to their death just like elephants do on the wild planes of the Serengeti. Off in the distance I think I heard a gunshot and police sirens - did that stop me? No - when you come this far for discounted carpet - there is no turning back. As I neared my destination, an old weather beaten building, a chill came over me - would this be the end of me or would I leave with luxurious carpet to tickle the feet of my family? Inside my senses were overcome with the sights of countless rolls of carpets, the smell of foam pads and the after taste of a burrito purchased earlier in the day. I was greeted by Darryl, a likable fellow who gave me the lay of the land. Any carpet could be purchased by roll, cut to size or made into a remnant - all I had to do was pick it out from their vast selection. The carpets ranged from the high-end stuff you see in magazines or posh hotels to carpets that will bring back memories of your grandmother's house or an off the strip Las Vegas casino (in my case, both). After searching the three floors of carpet - I found her under a flickering neon light. A beautiful pattern and just the right neutral tone so as not to offend any of my carpet colored sensitive house guests. A work man brought her down to the first floor and placed her on a carpet rolling machine so that I could "inspect the weave" - she looked fine and I could imagine running my feet all over her. I gave my measurements to Darryl and I was assured that she would cut, trimmed and bound to my liking. The transaction went smoothly and the price was more than fair. A few days later, I picked up my new carpet which had been tightly rolled in plastic and brought her home. I look forward to telling my grandchildren about my journey to Tradeway Carpet Outlet and you will too. read more

Wow this place is phenomenal! Rich and Darrel were awesome, answering all of my many questions. The selection is mind-blowing, I've never seen so many carpets. They're honest about the minor flaws some might have and will cut any piece as long as there is a 10'x12' piece remaining for them to sell. They bind, as well, for $2.50/linear foot. They have contract delivery people if you need them for local drop-offs. DEFINITELY worth checking out if you need carpet or area rugs on a budget. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I am a designer by hobby and I design w2w carpets using remnants. I have done three up to date and found this place while working on my third. I cant say enough good things about Tradeway......the selection is a dream...3 Floors!. The range of colors expansive, the quality was full range, and the prices unbelievable. The guys that work there were so helpful I have to say this is my new favorite place. I bought 7 remnants of various sizes, one was huge (room size) and they really worked the price down to nothing....$260.00 out the door! Yes $260....7 remnants. I KNOW UNBELIEVABLE. LOVE THIS PLACE. And I have decided that when I get ready to do my fourth, I am starting here. PS. I cant seem to be able to post a picture here but if you would like to see my finished carpet , email me or check my yelp profile. Ill try to put some pics there for you to see what I did with Tradeways remnants. read more

This place is one that, once discovered, obviates the need to ever search for another place to buy carpet. We went in on Saturday and were immediately assisted by Kendell, who took us up on their big ol' freight elevator to the 3rd floor and then explained the lay of the land to us, answered various questions, and even moved some of the big rolls of carpet for us so we could spy what was behind them. After making like water and flowing around from the 3rd floor, on down to the 2nd and finally to the bottom floor, we decided we liked a carpet we saw on the 3rd floor. Another employee, Alan, was just as kind, professional, and gracious as Kendell and assisted us with even more of our questions. The manager, Daryl Johnston, then helped us by suggesting an economically reasonable approach to dealing with a couple stains that were on this otherwise gorgeous Masland carpet. We used one of the installers on their list, Mike Sadler, and he too was professional and good. Arrived on time. Helped us move things for a minimal fee. And did a good job. This place was great! read more
