We needed a fried chicken fix so my wife and I decided to give this place a try. My 4 piece chicken tender meal with corn poppers, coleslaw, and a roll was just what I needed. The tenders were hugemongeus and very tasty; however, this was my first time to try their coleslaw and it had an odd chemical flavor so I just set it aside. My wife's 2 piece dark order was too much for her to finish and had to request a to go box. Although the lady taking orders was pleasant, I did notice that my charge slip had a place for an optional tip. We always get the 4 piece tenders meal and neither of us ever finish because I do believe this is a lot of food. I think the meal is 4 pieces, a roll, a side, cream gravy, and large drink for $10. As far as food goes the fried chicken is always crispy and moist and has a great batter. The chicken tenders are also very good and always extremely tender and I like how light and non greasy they are. I love fried gizzards and theirs are good but they do run out of them. As far as sides I always get the corn nuggets which are very addicting, as well as cole slaw and mashed potatoes which are most good. I also recommend getting their ice tea which is really good. The only thing I don't like here is that the drive through which isn't a traditional drive thru. This one they walk to your car take your order there instead of at a window. read more

They do not understand the request for fresh. I have gone twice and ordered gizzards and requested that they be freshly cooked and that I am willing to wait. Both times I have had to ask for my money back. I called the manager to ask what verbiage needs to be used for them to understand freshly cooked gizzards. He explained that freshly cooked gizzards could have been cooked 15 to 20 minutes prior.. if you enjoy eating gizzards you know that amount of time they are cold and unedible. Driving through Brenham and decided to stop here for chicken tenders. I ordered the #7 which is a 12 piece tender and 1 side with gravy. I also ordered a large sweet tea and small coke. No one wears name badges so you don't know names or who is in charge. The young lady rang up the order and told me it was $36 and some change. I said huh that seems high.. She said "no that is the price" I said for the number 7? She said NO you said number 12! I said no, I am sorry if you miss understood but I want the number 7. A man turned around abruptly that just boxed it all up and said you did say 12 I heard you. I said again... I am sorry if I made a mistake, I don't need that big order for 2 people. I want the number 7. She went over to the box that he just packed up with the chicken and began to put all the chicken back as we waited for her to get the order right. She packed up 12 tenders and fries. Brought over 2 large sweet teas - which I did not order to begin with- and told me here is your order. I said but you need to refund my card the difference. I just paid like $20.00 too much. She got an attitude and let me know that I already paid for it and that was too bad. I said no mam.. this is not right. She said well you just need to talk to a manager then. She walked away as I waited for the manager. Again, no knowing who is in charge anywhere... the same man that turned around earlier was at the register. He never apologized, he finally said I refunded the first charge and will ring up the tenders now.
