Burro's grilled cheeses had been hyped up for a long time, so I was super excited to visit the food truck on Rainey Street! I got the waylon & willie which was aged cheddar, Gouda, caramelized onions and pepperoncinis all grilled between two pieces of sourdough bread. The sandwich was pretty solid. It was grilled to a perfect crisp and the onions and pepperoncinis complemented the gooey cheese. However my favorite part of the meal was dipping the grilled cheese into the habanero yellowbird sauce. The sauce was super spicy but still retained lots of flavors and really added to the salty/savory feel of these. It wasn't the best sandwich or grilled cheese I've had, but it's definitely up there. Overall the food truck had a dope vibe and long lines (def worth the wait)!

They really do have some delicious and unique grilled cheese. The Mac n cheese has some spice to it so be careful. They have a brisket grilled cheese that sounds delicious, but unfortunately I was unable to try. They ran out of brisket and cookies the second time I went for lunch. They can be a 5 star food truck if they upped their customer service and time. The first time was such an awful experience, because after we ordered they completely forgot about us and did not give us our order until 45 minutes later. We went up to the guy at the window he said he had no idea we had ordered, because they had changed shifts and the other guy didn't tell him. Sounds like they need a better system in place for their orders. The second time they forgot about my sandwich and all of our drinks. I went up to ask about my sandwich and the girl said, "oh it is yours I thought I had just made an extra one". So instead of making a new one because that one was sitting there for over 20 minutes she gave me the cold one. Anyhow I will go back, because they are good. However if their customer service continues to suck I will not return and I will most likely rate them a 1.

Who doesn't love grilled cheese? We were lucky enough to have Burro stop in during work. I know this location may not be the exact food truck since they are pretty mobile but I'm sure it's similar. Burro Cheese Kitchen has awesome grilled cheese sandwiches. You can see the workers in the food truck grilling the cheese over a flame before they add any toppings so the cheese is extra melted. If you're in the mood for a hot, grilled cheese then I would recommend checking this out.

Regular grilled cheese with fig butter ahhhh

Burro cheese kitchen is a grilled cheese specialty in a dusty "food truck trailer park" area in Rainey St. It's great choice to have ANYTHING cheesy as a drunchie choice, so I'm glad Burro is an option here. We stopped by after an afternoon of drinking. The sucky part is that there are no umbrellas at the picnic tables for customers, but the space shared by all of the food trucks is large enough for all party sizes. Burro is the first truck you see on your left when you walk in. Their menu is pretty standard with obvious favorites like mac and cheese grilled chz, but I went with their Via 205, which is a three-chz grilled cheese with balsamic fig jam. I wish there was a bit more fig jam on mine to get the contrast, but it was very tasty regardless, and the bread was perfectly buttered and grilled. I wish they would include a little extra love with the sandwich. Something simple like a pickle or even half a bag of chips (or something!!) would be nice. I was torn between getting a sando here or next door at the lobster truck, because they had a lobster grilled cheese which sounds like it's worth a try next time. Anyhow, service here was fast and simple. The food took about 10 minutes to make, which seems like a long time when you're baking out in the sun. Standard grilled cheese food truck yay!

Waylon and Willie Sandwich

Food truck located in the parking lot of Hi-Sign Brewing's new location on Shady Lane. Friendly staff. Order was completed in 10 minutes. The grilled cheese was very cheesy and tastes great! I really enjoyed the sourdough used for the sandwich; it was grilled perfectly. There is also a bottle of habanero sauce at the pickup window that you can spice up your sandwich if you'd like. It is pretty pricy for a grilled cheese sandwich, but I'd still recommend coming here for a quick snack or lunch if you're in the area. The one downside is the seating for the food truck is all outside and there's very little shade. You can grab a drink at Hi-Sign brewing and sit and the air conditioned taproom.

I got the Long Tall Texan and it was so good! It has sourdough, aged cheddar, brisket, and a Serrano pineapple sauce. The sauce isn't spicy though, which I made sure to clarify before because I can't handle spice. It's all delicious and would eat here again!

I had a grilled cheese with pepperoncini peppers. It fell on the sweet side and wasn't my cup of tea honestly. Staff was friendly but I just wouldn't go back based on the food.

Via 206 and Burning Macs!

A little pricey but WORTH IT! I got the Via 206! It was a sweet and savory grilled cheese. It had unexpected flavors but was very tasty! You can occasionally dip it into some hot sauce for some spice. The sandwich came out piping hot and the cheese was extremely gooey! There was so. Much. CHEESE! If you're willing to try something new, I definitely suggest the via 206! The other sandwiches were Burning Macs! Again, very tasty and interesting because there was macaroni in the sandwich! And again, loads of cheese!!! This was a more conventional grilled cheese, but still very tasty!

I think the picture speaks for itself but these were sooooo good. The cheese is tastes amazing and they don't hold back The food truck staff is very nice and it's a nice place to stop while touring SoCo! I think unfortunately the recent bad reviews took a hit on business BUT it looks like they've done what they can to amend their mistakes.

Burro cheese kitchen is serving a variety of high end cheese sandwiches on unique types of bread. A trailer chilling under a shady tree, I picked up a 206 ($6.50) and my friend grabbed The OG ($5). 206 was on grilled sourdough with 3 cheeses & apricot style jam. OG was on very chewy hawaiian bread. It certainly had a good crisp cooked feel to the bread and layers of cheese. Excellent texture to the sandwich. I couldn't tell much difference between the gourmet cheeses. They have a few different options of bread & cheese to build your own creation. I have seen a wide variety of comments about this spot. Also I realize writing this, the owner replies to everyone's post! Burro is another unique food trailer in the ATX. It has a tricky location to get to next to Amy's ice cream on corner of S Congress & The circle dr. Service is friendly, and they have a few tables to eat at. If you dig a quality cheese sandwich, it is a good spot. The pricing is ok but I would list this more of a snack spot than to grab a meal. It was certainly tasty but it is going up against a lot of tough food trailer competition in Austin TX.

Unusual selection of cheese oriented sandwiches! I saw an online recommendation for the Dark Hawaiian (which must have been a special at some point because it wasn't on the menu proper, but in any case you can cobble it together in the "build your own" section): brie cheese and chocolate sauce on Hawaiian bread. I won't say it was the best grilled cheese ever, but it was unique and served with a smile. This place is slightly tucked back but it's not hard to find on the east side of S. Congress. Check it out and be cheesy!

Amazing Food, Incredible Drinks & Fantastic Service!…read more What an absolutely fabulous experience at Moonshine Grill in Austin! From the food to the drinks to the service, everything was fantastic! Jessica took great care of us and made our visit even more enjoyable. The ambiance was also really nice, with cute rocking chairs out front and lots of mirrors all over the walls. We had the grilled cheese sandwich with burnt ends, and WOW! The combination of the amazing onions and gooey, delicious cheese was out of this world! We also ordered the sweet potatoes, and I cannot say enough about how good they were! Perfectly sweet and absolutely delicious. Seriously, SO SO good! And the drinks? The lavender lemonade was AMAZING! Refreshing, delicious, and the perfect complement to an already fabulous meal! Between the incredible food, fantastic drinks, and Jessica's wonderful service, this place was a winner all around! If you're in Austin, Moonshine Grill is definitely worth a stop! We somehow snagged nearby street parking and a table for two with no wait despite it being a busy Saturday evening after a UT football game. Make a reservation if you have a large party or are on a tighter schedule. It's a bit loud for those seated in the lobby/entrance area, but totes a vibe. For food, we ordered the blackened catfish, brisket burnt ends quesadillas, and harvest bowl to share. Everything was delicious and served quickly, even with the aforementioned dinner rush. 10/10 would order the same items again. I was so appreciative of the server splitting the entree over two plates without us asking. Did I mention the complimentary popcorn and cornbread? Twas a FEAST. I'm already thinking about the next time we're going back! If not for Moonshine, definitely for the speakeasy downstairs.

This tastes like it came straight out of someone's granny's kitchen in SPAIN. D E L I C I O U S. The menu isn't all vegan, but they've done an incredible job offering both traditional and vegan versions without losing any soul. Am I in heaven? Yes. The owner makes it a point to connect with customers, which was refreshing. You can tell this is passion-driven. You order via QR code at your table, then pick up out back when it's ready--easy. Everything is prepped daily in a Commercial kitchen and finished on the truck, and he proudly shared that the ingredients, spices, even the meats are sourced from Spain. Vegan paella? Incredible. Patatas bravas with vegan aioli? My personal favorite, sooo good. My husband loved the jamón serrano sandwich. And whatever you do, don't skip the sourdough rye with tomato spread. They also mix in a few Belgian items to match the bar, which adds to the whole European vibe. I already need to go back for the vegan fideuà and bombas..they were sold out, which tells you everything. Do yourself a favor: try this spot and support a small business that's clearly fueled by passion and flavor. Yum.

The croquetas and bravas are the best in Austin - better than Kalimotxo, San Gines, and El Raval. They were extremely delicious and the perfect texture and size. We would definitely go back! Thank you for keeping this Spanish food authentic.

My man said he'd ask for extra meat next time, but that's just his personal preference. Otherwise, it was fantastic. The flavor was phenomenal, and if you're a tough critic when it comes to Philly cheesesteaks, I get it. I've had cheesesteaks at both Pat's and Phil's in Philadelphia IYKYK, and I can confidently say these stack up. They absolutely hold their own against the real thing. The Philly is definitely the star of the meal, but the fries were crispy and what you want out of a fry. The customer service was also wonderful, which made the whole experience even better. They also have a nice seating area and some parking right out front. Now, the funnel cake fries... OH MY GOD. We got the raspberry ones, and we literally had to talk ourselves out of ordering another batch and devouring the whole thing. They were so good, better than any actual funnel cake I've ever had. Needless to say, we'll absolutely be back!

Having enjoyed plenty of authentic Philly cheesesteaks over the years...many of them in Philadelphia itself...I approached this food truck with a healthy dose of skepticism. As soon as I arrived, I met Armand, who told me that he and his brother started the food truck about seven years ago. He was warm, personable, and genuinely Texas-friendly, which immediately set a positive tone for the experience. Ordering a cheesesteak is a simple three-step process: 1) Pick your cheese. 2) Choose your toppings. 3) Be polite and place your order. (I loved that part!) I ordered the cheesesteak with American cheese and grilled onions, along with a side of fries. Let me tell you...this sandwich completely exceeded my expectations! For a moment, I felt like I was back in Philly. The bread was soft, fresh, and flavorful. The steak was unbelievably tender and packed with flavor...so good that I couldn't stop talking about it. The portion size was generous enough for two people, so I ended up sharing half with the hubs. Needless to say, R&B's Steak and Fries turned this cheesesteak skeptic into a believer.
