fish sauce wings
Quyen P.

I honestly come to Burnett's only for the fish sauce wings they're that addictive. This is the type of spot to just get your food, eat and leave. (You have to eat it fresh from the fryer) The flavor is bold, savory, and once you start eating them, it's hard to stop. That said, they can lean a bit too sweet at times almost to the point where it tastes like straight sugar but somehow it still works and keeps me coming back. If you're into that sweet-salty combo, these wings definitely hit the spot it's the best in town.

Finally came in to try the famous fish sauce wings I've been hearing so much about. The wings were definitely tasty. Flavorful and probably the highlight of the visit. That said, the overall experience was mixed. It's a smaller pub with walk-up-and-order service (no table service), and the smell of fried oil was pretty strong the entire time. The atmosphere felt very dark and a bit dingy. Service unfortunately wasn't great. The owner came across rude and unprofessional, which honestly matched what I had already heard from others. I asked if they could make a green tea shot and was met with attitude and a rude look, being told, "We only do REGULAR shots," in a way that felt unnecessary. The food was good, but for the price and overall experience, I'm not sure it lived up to the hype. Glad I finally tried it, but probably not somewhere I'd rush back to.

So we came here on a Friday night wanted to get some drink drinks. drinks are always cool. Food is good but sometimes the service is a little slow so you're gonna be waiting for a minute, but the ambience is good.

If this review was just about the food I would give it 5 stars Their fish sauce wings are the best I've ever had the flavors are well balanced not too fishy and not too sweet like other fish sauce wings I've had. All the other flavors of the wings are amazing the wings are big and juicy. I will say that if you are dinning in expect to wait over 45 - 60 minutes even when it's empty on a weekday when they first open. I've only ever seen one person there and I'm guessing she's the owner? The service is okay it's not great you might be better off calling an order in. The prices are reasonable.

The fish sauce wings here are always a hit and what they're known for. I'd also recommend the fish sauce tofu & the shrimp they have here. The wait on the food is always a bit longer which is the usual -- but if it's really busy the wait is even longer. It's definitely a if you know, you know spot. But it's always worth it. A go to spot for wings for sure. It was $29 for 12 pieces with rice & salad.

Best wings in all of Washington. The fish sauce wings will never let you down. My go to and if you're vegan, ask for the fish sauce tofu!

Stopped by on a Friday night! This Pub has lots of seating & a pool table to play with friends! People were very friendly and considerate about sharing/letting others play at table! Order at the bar & they bring your food out to table! The food is SO GOOD!! The Fish Sauce Wings are the best item there!!! The size of the portions are great. We shared these 3 plates between 3 people and it was good enough! Looking forward to coming back here again soon!!!!

The wings are moist and crispy out of the fryer but you gotta eat these without the box being covered for that crispiness! If you're craving orange flavored wings, these will definitely do it right. I always get the salt n pepper with the onions because it's sooo addictive! I don't dip ranch with these wings since they're good without them! The celery is just to cleanse your palate but it'll be the last to eat or untouched! The bar is definitely dive bar vibe and everyone can see everyone. Service can be more attentive but I usually just take these to go. Each order of 6 or 12 is charged a to go fee so no surprises there! Will be back for more wings.

The wings are great!! The service could be better. And they never answer the phone for some reason for pick up orders.

Get here at 5 for wings. Literally only open for their wings and can't have the fryers ready by the time they open. Lazy management.

Ask the Community - Burnett's Pub

Did Burnett's closed up?

No, it's open regular hours.

Is it true the wings are $28 for a 12pcs now!?!!?

No, they're $18 now but I've read articles about there being a wing shortage so they probably had to raise prices due to supply being more costly now.

How late do they serve food on fridays?

Usually until around 10-11PM

Are kids allowed to eat here?

It's a Dive bar, so I highly doubt it. but also you probably wouldn't want to bring your kids here, not a kid friendly place with lots of loud drunk people acting silly...

I am glad the Spot has garnered a 4.0 rating so far, and I agree. While some things bothered me, it was still good. The Steak and Eggs were prepared perfectly. A perfect medium, with lots of flavor. The accompanying biscuit was huge and excellent. The freezer jam made it even better. The eggs and hash browns were also good. I only had coffee as it was early leaving Portland and I had a concert to go to in the evening. The server Randi was so friendly and timely. When I walked in the door, everyone said hi, and it was obvious that it was the perfect pick to watch the game. The things that bothered me: 1) The fresh sheet that was given to me was extremely wrinkled and in poor condition. 2) I watched a party of 3 not able to come in as there was a person under 21 in the group. There are over 100 seats, and I would open it up for under 21, especially in the daytime. 3) I just don't like hearing the servers/cooks discussing the previous night between each other. I would still go back to the Spot. Great place to watch a game and the food was good and the service was so good.

The ambiance is definitely that of a pub, which was great! It was comfortable and cozy but also open and airy. The service was good; it took a bit for someone to come initially serve us, but once we were addressed, the service was quick! To drink, I had the Ayinger Oktoberfest first and followed it up with a Seattle Soda root beer. The Ayinger Oktoberfest was light and flavorful. I found the 0.3 size appropriate for me, but they also had the half pint and a stein which was HUGE. The root beer was sweet and cold and I was given a large amount of it. To eat, we shared some appetizers. My favorite was the kettle chip nachos. I've never had anything like it! It's a bed of kettle chips topped with bacon, cheese, and green onions. It was crispy, crunchy, and delicious; and perfect for sharing! I like how it was served on a baking tray. My second favorite was the French fries; it's a generous portion and they are so flavorful and fried to perfection. The only comment I have is that the curry ketchup served on the side wasn't for me. The last appetizer we got was the pretzel; it's BIG! I liked the sauces that it came with. Beautifully soft with a nice crust and pillowy inside. We enjoyed the trivia night that was hosted! It was so fun and well organized. If you're looking for a fun pub to go to with your coworkers, family, or friends with a fantastic beer selection and delicious food; check out Berliner Pub in Renton!

Unfortunately, over time, it feels like they've completely lost their luster and prioritised quick turnover and business over customer experience and basic hospitality. The service on my last visit was essentially nonexistent. We sat down and weren't even greeted by a server for 20 full minutes. When someone finally came over, they literally just dropped water on the table and walked away--no greeting, no "I'll be right with you," and didn't even take a drink or food order. To make matters worse, the seating policy management is bizarre. I get that it's a beer hall with communal seating, but sending a random stranger to sit at our table because the bartender told him he "couldn't order food at the bar and had to sit at a table" created a super uncomfortable situation for everyone involved. It's really disappointing to see a place I used to root for degrade to this level of slow service and poor crowd management. Hopefully, management takes a step back and focuses on quality service again, but for now, I won't be in a rush to come back.
