Another of what will be many updates. We have spoken to numerous individuals involved with plaster and the pool industry. Some with over 20 years experience. Every one has said the same thing! The pool plaster should not look that way 4 months after an acid wash and it should not be attributed to lack of chemical balance. We also tried the number that was provided on yelp and we are still getting the run around. I guess i will have to try to communicate with burketts through yelp. read more

Our pool of 25 years finally needed a makeover, Jason came out and went over the options with great knowledge. Some tiles had come off and I replaced them, but under further view others were about to come off so we decided to replace and update the old tile. So we received a great Quote for plastering and tile Some friends of mine spent a little more just for plaster This was total demolition of the old plaster not just sand blasting ,all the way down to gunite Jess was always great in keeping me informed about scheduling and always answered the phone All the crews were on time and did a fantastic job My pool from start to finish only took 10 days . 1 week ahead of schedule Burkett's does thousands of pools so if you make changes that is why there might be delays. Listen to Jason and know what you want from the start to have a great experience. Thank you to all the employees involved with my new looking pool Glenn P.S. They also include initial start up and adjust pool balance read more

Burkett's has simply EARNED this STELLAR review. Our swimming pool remodel required very substantial updates that included some "not so ordinary" plumbing challenges. The entire process - from bidding & contract to the very last finishing details was executed professionally in a timely fashion. Each work crew performed high quality work and cleaned up after every stage. Our project manager (Rick) was very responsive, personable and most importantly, highly knowledgeable in each phase of the project. Burkett's does NOT sub contract out pieces of the project.... all of the team members from each crew are Burkett's employees, which results in everyone is working for the same objective. Whether you're looking to simply re-plaster your pool or a full remodel, I highly recommend hiring Burkett's. They made what could have easily been a homeowner's nightmare project, a low-stress enjoyable process that will bring us enjoyment for yeas to come. read more

Burkett's did a very good job on my pool replaster. From start to finish everything went very smoothly. I am very satisfied with the job done and I would definitely recommend them to others! read more

First of all Dennis came out and was very professional and showed us these beautiful pictures of how our pool would look. Deborah, the accountant had submitted all of the paperwork that was needed by our mortgage company, or so we thought. This was to have the insurance for the mortgage company send the checks and get our pool work started. The date was set and the workers showed with Bruce the project manager, so when he asked for the first installment check, we told him we don't have one yet, so we contacted the mortgage company and they say we don't have all the paperwork yet. We asked what they needed and they said what it was. We then call Deborah and find out that it was a document stated they could only charge what was originally quoted. Deborah refused to sign that doc and in our first conversation she stated she misplaced it. Then in the next conversation she said no, Burketts doesn't sigh those so she threw it away. So because the paperwork wasn't in order, we turned them away because we had no check to give them. Now the work wasn't started on scheduled day, then the rain came and the dates were pushed out, it was too wet. I had to call them because now I didn't have a start date. I was told well you are the ones who stopped production so we have to try to fit you in. I said no, it was your accountant who stopped production, not us. You came asking for a check that I didn't have. We finally got a date, demo came, they were fine, then framing came for the the decking and the guys were very professional, I was satisfied with the concrete it looked nice. Then repair crew came to repair the crack, then the waterfall people came and did the waterfall and that looked nothing like the picture we were shown. The boulders that accent the pool were on the truck but the worker said I can't unload them because they are too heavy for him and his co worker. I was told someone would be back to bring the boulders back. A few weeks later a young man came with rock, small rocks. Then, the plaster people came and did the plaster and I was in bed because I had a minor surgery and I heard the worker cussing in spanish, I understand Spanish and I am a minister and because I was confined to bed for several days due to the surgery, I almost had to go downstairs to tell them to stop cussing, but the guy left. I reported it to Bruce and he just chuckled and said Mexicans cuss. When they were filling up the pool I was finally able to come downstairs and I saw the the color of the plaster was beautiful but there was a huge gash/dent in pool which was 3ft wide and 4ft tall from the repair work they did, it showed through. I called Bruce and told him about it and asked him should I stop filling the pool and he said no, keep filling it. I took a picture of it and sent it to him. When the pool was finally filled i tried turning on pool light and it didnt work. Prior to all the work dennis the sales rep. told me to turn on the light so we can make sure it works, so i did at it worked. So weeks go by and I didn't hear anything from them not even a phone call. Bruce came with a contract stating that they are not liable for the light. My wife called and spoke with Bruce and told him that light worked before they started, so Bruce said he would have someone come out with a lightbulb. They were going to come out to look at the gash and an older gentlemen came out and stuck his arm in the pool and wiggled it under the water and said he doesn't see it. I said no you have drain the pool to see it because it's so big but he kept acting like he didn't feel it, then he looks at the rest of the pool and said I think I see a crack. He didn't want to get in the water because he didn't want to get wet. I called Bruce and told him that I had to get in. Bruce laughed and said no he doesn't get wet. I told Bruce he needs to send a diver, he said yes I'll arrange it, NO SHOW! So my pool is cracked supposedly, it has the huge gash and the light doesn't work and nobody came with the bulb and to fix it. The finish product is horrible, the waterfall looks nothing like it is supposed to like in the picture i was shown, the little rocks are a joke and I understand my pool is only 15,000 gallons but i would like to finish my backyard. Now, to make matters worse we have received 2 letters from Burketts, from Deborah telling us we are first 30 days delinquent on final payment and 2nd letter they we are 60 days delinquent. This has been since beginning of June i text bruce and he said im on vacation ill be in office tomorrow and have someone get back to you and I haven't heard anything. Buyer Beware don't use this comoany!!! read more

I highly recommend Burkett's pool. I had my pool replastered and had a new skimmer installed. The crew (led by Angel) was terrific - they did a fantastic job and were very professional. I experienced a slow leak after the work was done, and Burkett's tended to the problem right away. They had a diver come in and pin-point the source of the leak. The sales person I worked with (Jonathan) was very helpful throughout the entire process. I received several bids for this job, and Burkett's pricing was very competitive. I highly recommend Burkett's Pool Plastering for your pool replastering needs. read more

We had our pool plastered in '08 by Burkette's. Due to a material defect from the plaster manufacturer, rust spots appeared in our pool due to metal shavings getting into the material. Initially, Burkette's attempted to fix it by diving and removing the spots, but more spots appeared. Burkette's stood behind the warranty and came out this month to completely replaster our pool at no charge. Whitney at Burkette's stepped us through the process daily and patiently and each person/crew that came out was professional, efficient, and ethical. Although it also took a lot of work on our end for a redo, we appreciated Burkette's standing behind their work and quality. Thank you. read more

I hired Burketts after receiving a referral to talk to them. We had bought a home and the previous owners did not take care of the pool. So the plaster had started to crack and pit. So cosmetically it did not look very good. I met with two pool companies that were referred to me. One guy looked like he had crawled out from under a rock. Also was way out of line with his price. Dennis from Burketts was nice and cordial. Great with responding to email and phone calls. Was pleased with the price of the Wet Edge finish. So we went with a black pebble tech finish. Dennis stated it is done in 7 days. One thing we realized when the pool was drained. That the tile and rocks needed to be cleaned. Make sure you hire a tile cleaning person. We hired Bays affordable pool tile cleaning at www.baystile.com. For the extra couple a hundred it is worth it. Both tile and rocks looked new. Burketts came and the pool drained in two days. Then there sandblasters came and did there job. Once they were done the finish workers came in and installed the new finish on the pool. It was amazing to watch from start to finish. They started right away with filling the pool. It was full in two days. Then they came back and did a start up. So it was around 8 days it was completely finished and full of water. It does take two weeks before you can put the solar back on so plan accordingly. Also if you have salt it is 30 days before you can add salt back into the pool. One thing I have to say about Burketts and that is there communication was impeccable. They contacted me and emailed me stet by step. Everything was on track with no hitches or issues. In this day and age it is really nice to have such wonderful customer service. I thank you and my children thank you for making are pool beautiful again. read more

Awesome customer service and products, the receptionist was very helpful and answered all my questions. I highly recommend Burkett's!

Prompt, courteous, hard working crew re-textured our pool within 2 weeks as promised, in spite of stormy weather. We are pleased.

I have to say we are very pleased with Burkett's Pool Plastering. Despite questionable reviews on Yelp, we decided to go w/ them to replaster our pool because our neighbor recommended them. They were very pleased with the work they had done on their pool. I have to say the same. They were on schedule. The demolition crew, especially, were courteous and clean. They power washed the patio and furniture after jack hammering the pool all day. The crew that installed the bench weren't as clean, but were fine, and lastly, the crew that plastered, were great. No complaints. We are now filling the pool and awaiting final visit tomorrow from rep to give us start-up instructions. This will be my only yelp post unless something unforeseen happens.....would highly recommend. read more

I have read the prior reviews. We had Burketts redo our tile and the work was done on schedule with very professional subs. I had a problem with minor call back repairs. It took over a year to get someone to address our problem. I spoke to Meghan many times with no satisfaction. Finally, I spoke with Lynda. She was very apologetic and helpful. She should be running that company. She scheduled the workers for the repair. They showed up on time and ready to do the repair. It is now done and looks beautiful. I give Lynda 5 stars. read more

I attempted to follow him and report it to the police! read more

I can't say enough about how great this company has been to work with. Janaine, our account manager over there, was amazing in keeping schedules, communicating with me, and just "getting things done" in general. She made the agonizing situation of having to rebuild a crack-filled, year-old pool actually pleasurable! Before hiring Burkett's we had three other pool repair companies come out to give us bids. It seemed like they all knew each other and made sure their (astronomical) bids to repair it were almost identical. In retrospect, they did all ask if any other companies were giving estimates and being the honest person that I am, I told them who else was a possible hire. Then, like a miracle, we found Burkett's. No hard sells, no UPSELLS (other companies tried to pressure me to buy a new heater, coping, pool deck, etc.), and beyond professional. They did the job - at half the price the others were asking. And they did an AMAZING job. Beautiful. They went above and beyond. After they completed the last phase (after repairing 50 feet of cracks at the unite level, putting in new tiles, etc.), the pool was filled. But it was still losing water. Turns out, a leak-detection company I hired (In-Depth Leak Detection - I'm naming them to warn you) right before Burkett's started was completely wrong in their $500 report to me - we had a huge crack in one of our pipes leading to the pool equipment, underground. Burkett's came out immediately, had their guys dive the pool and THEY found the cracked pipe. They also fixed it (in the pouring rain) within days at a very reasonable price. Burkett's saved our pool and my sanity. Don't get ripped off by other pool companies with slick salesman. Burkett's does a fantastic job and is 110% reliable, professional and affordable. read more

I work often with Lynda at Burketts. They are a great company to work with and build beautiful pools! We decided to go with Burketts after a friend recently had their pool refinished and were pleased with the work. The positives: Good estimator, it ended here! The workers left a mess on our lawn cleaning their equipment and that was not the bad part . The attention to detail was poor. The finish around the rock outcroppings looks like a child did it with their fingers! Very poor finish work. We of course complained and the project manager which we saw once came out and was upset with the poor quality of the finish and promised that it would be fixed, well months went by and phone calls and finally a service person arrived and said it looked like a child finished around the rocks. I said that is what I said. He said it would take a crew with a diving tank and grinder to fix it and said good luck and left. We called and never had a person come back and l bought my own diamond stone sponge and began my daily sanding to improve the poor work that I paid a pretty penny to have done. Bottom line a very poorly managed company that is not customer service oriented and hires unskilled workers that are unprofessional. read more

Burkett's did a wonderful job on my pool. All my neighbors are jealous. Crews were on time and cleaned up before they left. My customer service rep was very informative and walked me through my project step by step. Thanks Burkett's for a beautiful pool read more

They did a great job for us. Completely re-plastered and re-tiled the pool, replaced the light and added an autofill. They showed up when they said they would, responded to questions in a timely manner, and gave good value for the money. I'd hire them again and recommend them to anyone. read more

Update: Rich, my post got some attention, I'm glad Burkett's called back after a week of trying to get ahold of someone. You must not have all of the information about our situation because your response is inaccurate. Burkett's didn't drain our pool, we did. We had Burkett's out to inspect the pool structure and the cracks that were evident before an agreement for pool repair was made. Burkett's, after reviewing, did not make recommendations to fix them, giving the impression they weren't anything to worry about. Burkett's even lined out the crack waiver saying it was not required for our pool. Now after spending thousands we are told that we will have to spend thousands more to fix cracks in order to have a warranty or sign a waiver releasing Burkett's of any responsibility for cracks that transfer from the structure to the plaster. Had Burkett's given us the potential costs associated with fixing cracks we may have decided to fill the pool in with dirt, but we were led down the path of spending money with Burkett's and now have to spend more to get it right. I have emails in to the project manager and estimator with my requests. Its unfortunate that this forum has to be used in order to get effective communication from your office. read more

The best, absolutely the best. You should see our pool, simply great. They figured out everything including strategies on the water to refill it and the extensive hose line for the refill. We contracted Burkett's to fix a crack in our pool, and to completely replaster it. Burkett's was a fantastic company to work with. From the first step in the sales cycle to the last step in the process we were kept very well informed. The work that the crew did was outstanding, and our pool never looked better! read more

We had a leak in our pool in December, losing approx. 3" of water a day. Burkett's came right out and addressed the problem. We had them repair our leak, pour new concrete, refinish our pool with gorgeous pebble tech and install new tile. They were all very professional and courteous. Cleaned up behind themselves as if they had not been there that day working. They started and finished our pool on time, as promised. They were extremely easy to work with and made our remodel a very positive experience! I would highly recommend them to anyone!! read more

I have no use for this company because I don't have a pool, but I would say that their employees drive like idiots. Worst pool plastering company ever!!! Well they finally came out in November to repair their repair. Looked ok, but then by March it was all cracked again and new cool decking is flacking off in large hunks! The new hand rail they installed continues to rust, I pointed out (and took pictures) the day it was installed that it was rusted and was told by Rick to just polish it with Brasso! All the new mastic and or joint compound that they originally installed in 2016 failed and they also replaced some in March. That is again failing cracking and discolored. Terry and AJ had to do a no drain acid wash on the pool because the surface was making every ones feet bleed. When they finished it felt much better nice and smooth, we were pleased. They asked us how we liked the dark bottom pool. We said we ordered Evening shade gray color and they said well that's not what you got! That's the least of our worries! Right now $24,000 cash later our decking is falling apart and no one will return my calls. After calling Rick on the 1st of June again (the so called project manager) who said he would get back to me. I called both office numbers and talked to Tiffany & Whitney on June 20th. I ask Whitney to please have someone in management return my call. I told her I just wanted someone to come and look at the problem, let me know if this is the best they can do. If they say that's all they can do and they stand by this work, then we need to call someone else to repair their repairs. Worst pool plastering company ever!!!! read more

Sent multiple emails to Robert Burkett the owner. Not one response from him. He is hiding behind his workers.. coward. They did the acid wash to fix the prob.... did not fix it so now they have to drain the pool and polish it. Going on 10 months for a pool remodel. Robert should be ashamed of himself. Who takes customers money and then does not call the customer to apologize for all the issues and problems? Worse ever! read more

I am currently taking bids for a pool and pool decking replacement new light. I was at the Santa Clara Home show in early January where I was looking for pool companies that specialize pool remodels. I had 3 companies come to review the job and to bid on work proposed. I did received all quotes. I decided they were all to high and wanted to speak to about reducing some of the cost so the work could come more in line with the budget. I had narrowed it down to 2 companies. I called both compiles and neither one called me back. I was leaning towards Burkett so I called the sales rep again. No answer and no call back. So I have decided to call some more companies instead of trying to find out what happen here. read more

Agree with the majority of the reviews on here (and wish I'd looked closer at the reviews beforehand). There's a reason these guys are 1 star reviewed. Did not finish the job they started, nor honor the contract they made to complete our project. Our contractor and pool company stated that they have never experienced a company where they did not complete the job they signed on to complete. Had to hire another company to complete the job at extra cost. The worst company I have had the misfortune to run across in many years. If I could give them a zero star review I would. read more
