Good local feel! Very over priced. It's hard to justify eating here when there are many affordable burger places located nearby

The counter girl could have used a good solid re-training, but that is my only complaint about this place. I love the old malt shoppe theme and the car stuff decorating nearly everything. This place is clearly into cars, so it was a very nice space to spend time in. They also had a challenge burger, which I debated, as I thought it was pretty workable, but ultimately decided to give the arteries a pass...for now...sort of. The decor is not the only thing throwback here. This is one of the most moderately priced lunch places I've seen in a while. You can substitute, for instance, fried mushrooms for fries at no extra charge. Find me anywhere else where you can do that. Now, bit of a downside here, but the mushrooms weren't very good fried, but you do get a significant amount of them. The burger itself was a very solid affair. Good tasting patty, decently cooked bacon, very nice fried jalapenos and the mushrooms here were slightly better. This was a very satisfying burger, overall, though I think they should have an option to either get the fried jalapenos as a side dish or a mechanism to double or triple the amount on the burger. Place was also pretty clean, which is a nice bonus, but there were some eclectic touches, such as no ketchup pump, but a pile of packets. I greatly enjoyed my time here and had they had Coke Zero on tap, this would have been borderline perfect. As it is, I think this one is right around the corner from being added to my regular lunch rotation list, especially given how easy the freeway access is from here. read more

Burger Stop - All gone! - Burgers Near Me - Layton, Utah

Stopped here for breakfast on Saturday about 11am. Two other close establishments were packed with an hour wait. Not only did we get right in to eat here, but there were only 5 other people here. We used to stop here for burgers about seven years ago and it's sad to see it this slow. The food was ok, large portions and the price was right. My advise to management would be to close for a few days and spend that time SERIOUSLY cleaning and repainting. Maybe update the menu with some new items... how about a BLT. My son ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and he said it was boring. It looked like a couple of slices of Texas toast with a couple of slices of velveeta. Simple and quick yes, but certainly nothing to encourage return visits. read more

50's diner look and menu. The food is decent. Decent shakes, decent burgers. Keep in mind, you are deep in the heart of Davis County, so it won't be gourmet. But it's decent. Portions are decent. Service is always excellent. read more

My wife and I finally got around to checking this place out this past weekend. We both decided to try their "famous" fish and chips. It was actually pretty good and certainly better than I was expecting. Actually, my only complaint was that the "chips" (French fries) looked and tasted like they could have used another minute or two in the deep fryer. All in all, it was pretty good and we're already looking forward to our next visit. If they cook the fries a bit more I could see giving them 4 stars. Why not 5 Stars? Simple, they're good, but they aren't "excellent, the best I've ever had..." which is what it takes to get 5 stars. If you want "5 Star" fish and chips in Layton you've got to go to A Little Taste of Britain on Main Street. read more

PHENOMENAL! My husband took me here for lunch today and I loved it. The employees are very lively and we're singing to the old-timey diner music. The pastrami burger is an absolute must. I was full about half way in but I couldn't stop eating it! I also had their grasshopper shake that was extremely delicious-from what I got to eat because my husband ate most of it;). The only reason I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is because of the cleanliness. We searched down an isle for a wiped off table and passed 5 dirty ones before there was a clean one. Love this place but was let down today! Classic case of should be working at McDonald's. . . Apparently he thought I said hold the cheese and the lettuce, just the lettuce man just the lettuce! Also somehow he ordered a Sprite for me. I'm not hard to wait on just try to listen! Some people don't have time to deal with your mistakes! It took forever the fries were old and cold, the burger was good but the fish was a joke. The vanilla milkshake was just ok it just tasted like a soft serve ice cream nothing special. Don't know what happened to like this place. But I get two Bacon cheeseburgers with onion rings Pad $25 and that can't even put a full strip of bacon on them. Come on. Pitch of lentos, thinnest slices you can get of tomato. Gone down hill bad and it's sad I'm sorry. If I wanted that I'd go to McDonald's. But on the Plus side the onion rings are pretty good. I have to be honest, my mom and I ended up coming here because it was the only place open. I was pleasantly surprised though. The place was packed and the service was friendly and pretty quick. I love the 50's diner feel, too. I ordered a scone, thinking I'd receive a traditional scone. What I got instead was this massive, fluffy, sweet thing with the best honey butter I've tried. It was delicious, and interesting. My mom got a traditional breakfast plate and ate the whole thing! Overall, great place. I went wroth my husband last night for the first time and I was so impressed! I had the mushroom swiss burger with fries and the burger was so moist and the bun was so soft! It had the perfect amount of mushrooms on it as well! The fries were crunchy on the outside and perfectly soft on the inside! My husband had the turkey avocado sandwich and my daughter had a jr bacon cheeseburger and they were both very happy! We ended the meal with a grasshopper milkshake to split and it was so creamy! It is now my favorite shake place! The customer service was remarkable and I wish I would of got the name of the girl at the counter and the guy that checked on us as well so they could have recognition! This is a nice and friendly burger place. The food is pretty good for the price and the staff is very friendly. We tried three of their burgers with an order of fries and felt they are about average thus the 3 stars. They do host some auto shows throughout the summer where you can see some unique cars in their parking lot before/after you eat. I'd give them 0 stars if I could. Cheese cost extra, I paid for the cheese and didn't receive it on my burger. I told the cashier and she said they'd remake it. By the time my party finished their food and other patrons who came in after me were sitting down and eating I figured they might have forgotten my burger. The female cashier did forget to tell the kitchen staff to remake my order, no big deal but when I asked for a refund rather than taking responsibility for her mistake she told her manager "I don't know she's not happy with her burger!" She should have told her manager she forgot to remake my burger!! I'm seven months pregnant no I don't want a shake I want sustenance.. The manager is really apologetic and returning my money while the female cashier is lying to the guy in the back who is making the food telling him "I told her it was coming out and you had 3 burgers in front of hers!!" The cook responds to her by saying that I'm over reacting because they're not a fine dining establishment.... OBVIOUSLY I DIDNT COME FOR FINE DINING, I came for a burger with cheese, I didn't realize I was asking for so much! How unprofessional to be making those comments in front of a guest. High school favorite for lunch. They are always fast. Their travel back in time theme is cool. Burgers and fry sauce was yumm. Definite place for a decent burger rather than the big fast food chains and great break from all of that. The quality of food and service at Burger Stop is way better than any of the big franchises. My favorites: The breakfast burrito (great value) or the Crossfit omelet. For lunch the fish is way better than you'd expect from a burger joint. My kids love Burger Stop as well. read more

My boss got us Burger Stop for lunch. If I were to have to pay for the food myself, I wouldn't. When my boss ordered, he told them he was buying for a few people and asked if it could go in separate sacks. He got an eye roll and "But I have high school kids coming in soon." Um...okay?? I got the Philly Steak Sandwich and fries. The fries were average. I had to saturate them in fry sauce to give them any flavor. I don't know where to begin with the sandwich. The peppers and onions were diced, which didn't provide any flavor to the sandwich. I saw maybe a quarter size piece of cheese on the whole thing. The meat and bread were very dry. So dry that I had to drink a whole bottle of water to get that parched feeling out of my mouth. Basically, I would only go there if I didn't have to pay for it. Free food is free food. read more

The breakfast is really good! Large serving sizes, and it wasn't busy at all!! We are fans of the strawberry pancakes! The burgers and sandwiches are pretty good. The turkey avocado is yummy.
