Was told they were behind cleaning the fryer and grill and that's what they do on Monday mornings. They couldn't make any fryer food and anything on the grill would take some time due to it being cleaned. Poor management of their employees and time. I was really excited to try Pace's, they are always busy so I thought it was going to be great, don't get me wrong, they are great for ice cream/desserts and fairly cheap! We went around 5 to beat the crowd and get some dinner, we ordered chicken strips kids meal, country burger, pastrami burger, fish sandwich, onion rings, tators and fries. When we got our meal, the kids meal was wrong and was a corn dog, so we had to take that back and have them make the correct one, when they brought us the correct kids meal, fries were soggy. The country burger, always do a double not regular double cuz when you get it, it is thin! Pastrami burger was decent, but really smoky taste, now my fish burger was not great! The fish had a really strong taste as if it was really old and had just been sitting in the freezer for a long time, I didn't make a complaint about it as most of the workers are teens, I still ate it, and what a mistake! I felt sick all night! We won't order food from there again. Now as for the ice creams, that is a go to! Great and cheap. The inside of the restaurant isn't really clean. Little filthy. Flies all over. Dead flies on tables and windows. Tables and booths aren't wiped down. I wouldn't eat in next time, I wouldn't only do to go. read more

Driving up Main St looking for a local meal. Up pops Pace's. Wasn't actually looking for a burger joint but decided to do the local thing. Western Burger w/BBQ sauce and fried onion ring - good; French fries - good; service - good. Everything was good. When ordering, the size of the bun - 5" - was apparently a defining factor in many peoples' decisions. Being from the South, where the meat is larger than the bun rather than the reverse, I don't understand this thinking. If you want a flavorful burger with good service, Pace is your place. read more

To be fair I've only been here twice. The first time I had the halibut and chips which was a surprisingly generous portion for the price. The meat was tender and moist, which was a huge win. I also had a chocolate banana shake which was...I'm sorry, but I have to be honest...inferior to the competition. It was basically vanilla with some chocolate syrup and big banana slices tossed in...not blended in. Disappointing. Upon my second visit I decided to try a burger which was fairly awful. The "deluxe cheeseburger" has about 1/3 oz of meat. It's a tiny patty no more than maybe 1/4" thick, and 3" round. I'm not sure what made it deluxe. Was it the soggy lettuce? The gross mayo? In either case, it missed the mark. I figured I could at least wash the taste of regret out of my mouth with a dirty soda, but it was more akin to dirty water with a hint of lemonade. I found solace in the onion rings however, which had nice flavor and breading that doesn't retain too much oil. So, out of two visits, I'd say the halibut and onion rings are the solid picks. If I come back here, it would only be for that. read more

We loved our burgers, onion rings, and they have a rainbow ice cream offering (I'm forgetting their name for it now) where you pick a shave ice flavor (I.e. blue raspberry, tigers blood, etc) and they add vanilla ice cream into it as well. I grew up on rainbows, and decided to stop by for lunch when I was in town for the weekend. I went in to order and did have to wait a while before I was helped. But I could tell the drive through was busy and the staff was young. I ordered a country cheeseburger, fries, and a small rainbow. It was about $12 total. I didn't wait too long for my food, but the burger and rainbow came out separately. The food was good overall. Double patty's on my burger, and the fries were good. Nothing magical, but solid fries and fry sauce. I loved the prices. Especially considering how expensive fast food has been getting, it was nice to get a good burger for the price I did. The rainbow was of course awesome. I got orange, and the slushee was actually a little bit sour, which I loved. Great restaurant overall, my only gripe is the staff could be quicker and more attentive. The tables were all in need of a wipe down, and I did wait a while to be helped. So I came here because EVERYONE was telling me about the Rainbow Floats. So that was the first thing I ordered, with the most popular flavor....Tigers Blood! After mixing it up, it was a really good treat. Unique, yes. Good, yes. Cheap, yes! Everyday there is a special on the menu. Heck yeah! The burgers are alot better then your average McDonald's and Wendy's burger. The bun is made out of really good, soft bread and the patty is pressed ground beef. Pace's is a little locally owned place which I have eaten at a few times. The food is decent and a little overpriced. Some of the ice cream treats they offer are really good. They do also provide some nice coupon deals. My last time here I ordered a lot of food for my family. The corn dogs are average for what you get. The fries are also pretty good as well. Onion rings are not worth the price though. Country, Western, and Pastrami burgers are all OK. The biggest complaint with the burgers is the lack of beef for the bun they use. I really dislike burger places that give you a thin patty with a big bun. Patties need to match the bun used. Price for what you get is not that great in the burgers. Pastrami burger had some descent pastrami though. The fry sauce is average as are most of the condiments. Overall not a bad place, but there are much better places out there. read more

Great old fashioned burger place. Old school thin beef patties off the grill. Old favorites done in the tried and true traditions of American fast food from the 50's & 60's. I had the double County Burger. Wife had the Fish basket. Both were done well and fries with Fry sauce. A little slow as they cook to order. With the wait. Best part is the frozen fruit bar. Many flavors and a great ending for the meal. Clean and good staff of hard working teenagers. Specialty drinks and shakes round out their fare. Great kids place. Our all-time favorite spot! The food is always so fresh, the prices are very reasonable, and everything is delicious! We come AT LEAST once a week! I have ordered their cheeseburger since I was a little girl, my husband loves the Country Burger, and my toddler loves their corndogs. You can't go wrong with the fries, tater tots, or onion rings. All are yummy. And they have homemade fry sauce that is so good too. If you're a soda fan, this will be your new favorite spot! One of the employees told me that they keep their syrups a little bit higher than the recommended amount, making them a little more syrupy and thick. I promise it will be the most delicious Coke you'll ever have. The Clearfield and Layton locations are the best. If you have been to the Bountiful location and didn't love it, give the Clearfield and Layton locations a try to change your mind. The Bountiful location has a different owner, has higher prices, and the food is not nearly as good and is almost always cold by the time you get it. So in the fast food realm, this place gets 4 stars from me! I was with a group of friends the other day and someone mentioned getting a Pace's Rainbow, I didn't know what that was so I said, "What's a Pace's Rainbow?" It was as if the room went silent, everyone just gasped, and had gaping mouths in astonishment. haha it was actually really weird. Anyway, I decided I needed to try these Rainbow desserts everyone's talking about! I ordered a cheeseburger (they had a special for $1.25, normally $1.75) and also a Rainbow for $3. The girl at the register said Tigersblood was the most ordered flavor so that's what I got. For fast food, this place was pretty good and I would rather eat here than McDonalds or Wendys any day. The burger was a little bigger than your typical dollar menu burger. It was thin but wide, the best part was the crispy but soft and tasty bread. They put a ton of ketchup on it so I didn't have to add my own like I do at other places. For a cheap burger, I wouldn't have expected anything more. The Rainbow was actually pretty good! I'm not too much of an ice cream or fruity dessert kind of person, but I actually enjoyed this. It's half slushy on the bottom and half soft serve vanilla ice cream on top and then you can eat them separate or mix them up. I mixed mine and it was delicious! This would be a super refreshing treat on a hot day. One thing that I really loved about this place was the style. It has this small old school (maybe 80's?) feel to it. This is a great place to get a burger if you're a vegetarian! By that I mean, you will get very, very little meat in your hamburger. I was seriously shocked at how thin these hamburger patties are. In fact, the person who made these patties had to have some sort of insane talent to get them so thin. We ordered ten cheeseburgers for our large family and they were all exactly the same so I know this isn't some fluke. Who wants a burger where the meat is practically non-existent? Man! Wendy's needs to get a hold of one of Pace's burger and use it in their "Where's the beef?" campaigns! They wouldn't even have to make up a fake, practically meatless burger when Pace's can provide them with all they want! To be fair...I enjoyed Pace's tater tots. They were hot, fresh and crisp. Bonus points for making their own fry sauce. I hate...HATE that crappy, pre-made, nasty goo in the little cups that many restaurants give out with their food. Sysco? Great food -- but beware if you want to use a debit card there! Twice when I went there the card reader has been down. The first time I was in the drive through, my food was all prepared and kids were hungry, so they wrote down my debit info and I allowed it because we were hungry. A few days after this I had a large unauthorized purchase at a store, luckily my bank caught it and called me. I don't know if my info was stolen from this place or from some other purchase. Yesterday they didn't even tell me the card reader was down, I just saw the girl writing down my info so I asked her if it was, and she said yes, but that once the purchase has been run they would scribble out the info and shred the paper. -- Not acceptable for a business in this day and age. Dear Pace's owners, I am a loyal fan of your establishments. The Pace-Bar is by far the best I've ever experienced in this country. The French fries and onion rings are stellar as well. Completely, unique. I am a Utah native, but ever since moving to Colorado, my appreciation for your business goes without saying. To put it simply, there is nothing like Pace's in Colorado. Therefore, the market is untapped. I would certainly encourage the powers that be to look into opening an establishment in Colorado! Needed dinner, this was the closest drive-thru. Been back three times since that first experience. Best chicken strips around! [Seriously so good leftover, eaten cold the next day!] Their fries are fantastic. I've gotten the country burger twice and it's awesome! Their fry sauce is homemade and better than any I've ever had. Wasn't a fan of their milkshake only because I was expecting to drink it out of a straw...this thing is so thick you can only use a spoon..but it was still really good. Their kids meals come with a free pace bar (huge popsicle). The younger staff could maybe use a gentle reminder that their job is to serve customers and not stand around chatting while food sits waiting for them to grab and pass out the window. But when the older staff is in it seems to run a lot more smoothly + friendlier service. Overall, I think it's a great, convenient, and yummy drive-thru restaurant. read more

I'm reviewing this place as an ice cream place, not a restaurant. Don't go here for the burgers, go for the ice cream. I think the patties that they use are about 1/4 inch thick. As an ice cream place, they are the local go-to. Rainbow floats are out of this world and I probably get more of them than I should in the summer. I didnt take a look at the bathroom but it likely needs to be renovated if the scent is dominating the rest of the restaurant. I wont be coming back.
