This has been my favorite "blizzard"-style shake for years. I grew up here and go every year for a special treat. No longer. They seemed to have changed the recipe. It is now like eating plain, mediocre vanilla ice cream with a slight flavor of Reese's, and that is after paying for extra Reese's. It was so incredibly disappointing. I took the two shakes back in, which they remade, which was nice. However, they were absolutely no better. So sad. I tried to take them back in for a refund because we were not going to eat the "vanilla ice cream." They wouldn't. They did offer to remake them, while letting me know they would taste the same. Tonight I stopped in at Burger Stop to grab some dinner on my way to work. It wasn't crazy busy, 3 people in front of me. I went into the lobby to place my order. I ordered a chicken sandwich ($8) onion rings, and a Diet Coke, total was ($15). I grab my food and leave. Drive down the road, not even 2 minutes has passed, I pull my chicken sandwich out of the bag, go to take a bite... it was so damn hard, I couldn't even bite through it this is so disappointing, I'm so many ways. They weren't short staffed, so that wasn't the problem. $8 for a piece of hard wood seems very extreme to me!! I will NEVER ever go back, and I would NEVER EVER RECOMMEND this place. read more

Burger Stop - Layton, UT I was actually on my way to eat at Sill's when I noticed Burger Spot. The average review rating isn't that great, but I knew that they would have what I was craving at the time...a big juicy burger. The restaurant was empty when I arrived and very clean. I wasn't around during the 60's, but can imagine that this what most burger joints looked like at the time. A lot of vintage décor and hot rod pictures dressed up this entire restaurant. The menu is basically what you would expect to find at an old school diner. Burger Spot specializes in burgers and also serve breakfast. I got the Spare Tire Burger, which is their triple patty with 2 strips of bacon, and 3 slices of cheese. Their burgers are made to order and never frozen. Their burger buns are also baked in-house. I was a bit disappointed with the first couple of bites. The bun was cold, soggy, and almost ruined my experience. I ended up dumping the bun and ate the rest of my burger Keto style. All was good once I dumped the bun. A bun-less Spare Tire Burger is actually pretty good considering it cost only $9. Burger Stop also has burger named the Deuce. The Deuce is 5 patties, tons of bacon, 5 slices of cheese, and an onion ring. Completely eat this bad boy in 30 minutes or less for a free T-Shirt. I admit it. I thought about it. read more

Haven't been here for several years. Place is decorated in 50's style with emphasis on old classic cars & singers. They have old favorites and variations on classics. I had the philly steak sandwich. It was great. Wife had the fish & chip basket. She said it was very good too. Owners by local family. Prices are pretty high for fast food. With fries and one small drink meal was over $23 . I love Burger Stop. I live close to it and it had been awhile since I had been there. We starting going there last summer and now it's one of my favorite places to eat. If you're craving a good burger this is the place. I love that everything is cooked fresh. So be patient. Their fish and chips are delicious as well. Don't miss out on their breakfast either. We waited at the drive-thru window for 15 minutes before anyone took our order. By the time our order was taken, four people behind us had driven off. Also, very worrisome that one out of three of your employees were wearing a mask. If I had seen the men making my food before my order was taken I would have taken my business elsewhere. read more

Has anyone actually had these burgers recently? I've lived in Davis county for over 25 years. My wife's first job was at burger stop. While I'll admit to being too old to remember what these burgers tasted like when we came here for dates, I can comment on what the experience today. Disappointing. I ordered a double bacon cheese burger. The most prominent flavors are the bun and the lettuce with a hint of American cheese. Where's the beef? I mean, it's there, but where's the flavor. I tried stripping away the bun to get some flavor, but the only new one to emerge was a hint of bacon. On top of the weak performance from their burgers, the french fries tasted of old oil and lacked adequate salt. The bottom line is, while their prices aren't prohibitively high, they're not worth the poor value associated. At least Burger Stop still makes a great milkshake, but that's just one of their three key advertised items. read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced! They completely messed up our order and when I called to let them know, I spent 20 minutes on the phone with a "manager" arguing with me and then hung up on me. Be prepared to wait AT LEAST 25 MINUTES. And check your order. Like open the burgers and check not just count like I did. Every one of our 3 burgers was wrong. But I wasn't about to go back in and wait again. A woman from the drive through came in upset that her order was wrong. After watching and waiting for 20 minutes I got up to see what on Earth was taking so long. I can see 5 people back there and 3 just standing there. One just standing there in his uniform staring at his phone. When I pointed this out to the manager she checked my receipt to see if it really was 20 minutes like I said. When she saw it was, she leans her head through and comes back and says it's going to be a few more minutes. Five more minutes I stood there. Then wrong order and food just average. I went here yesterday and ordered two large shakes. When the young lady was making the shake, some of the ice cream started to come out of the cup. She grabbed it with her bare, unwashed hand and just threw it back in the cup; finished making the shake and brought it to the counter for me. I promptly indicated I'd rather not have the shake and would like my money back. She indicated that her grabbing the ice cream was ok becasue they had a sink beside the mixer and that they could rinse their hand (I believe she forgot I was right there watching the whole time and noticed she didn't use the sink at all). The simple fact that she came from the drive thru window handling cash, and then came to make our shakes without washing her hands and grabbed the ice cream with her bare hand and expected me to eat it was obsurd. It's cleaner on the inside! I've only ever done the drive-thru at Burger Stop, & I wasn't that impressed. It's especially annoying that they will only let you use one coupon per visit. Those were my reasons for not wanting to stop here, when my sister suggested it. But I got over it, and was shocked (in a good way!) when I stepped inside, & found it to be far less run-down than I was expecting it to be. Their ice cream treats are amazing! Superior to Arctic Circle, in every way. My husband's cookie dough shake was literally a cup filled halfway with ice cream, and the other half cookie dough. They don't skimp on ingredients or portion sizes! My kids ordered the dirt-cup sundaes. Again, huge! Compared to a place like Crown Burger, Burger Stop's menu is minuscule. They don't have a large variety of offerings. However, their prices are a lot lower. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger combo. Their fries are that "fat" kind, and were cooked just the way I like them. And patient with us as we decided what to get. Kids loved corn hole on the patio, the atmosphere was fun. We would have loved to see some vegetarian options and healthier choices. I can't believe this place hasn't been reviewed yet. Honestly, I am shocked. Anywho, if you're like me and my husband you get sick of McDonald's and Wendy's, yet you still want a burger and fries. We live down the street from Burger Stop and decided to try it one night. If you do come here, forego the drive-thru and step inside. This is for two reasons: 1. the retro 50s diner feel inside is nice and refreshing compared to the blandness that is normal fastfood lobbies. 2. the drive-thru takes foreverrrrr anyway, so might as well go inside if you're going to wait that long. The food is fresh and made to order, thus the waiting. Their burgers are decent and good, but for me the true test of a restaurant is the fries. And Burger Stop has some very delicious and crisp fries. I also love that they have flavor syrups for drinks, so I can get a Vanilla or Cherry Coke or a Lime Rickey. I love me a Vanilla Coke! Special flavors only cost 25 cents more. Someday I'd like to try their breakfasts, but I haven't had that opportunity yet. read more

I was in the area for my lunch break on a weekday and decided to give this place a try. In the past I thought it was just ok but today I really loved it. I ordered the single bacon burger with tots and a drink. The wait time was average, I thought. The buger was really juicy today and the bacon was good as well. I believe the bacon makes the burger stand out. Good size pieces. The tots were perfectly crispy and really tasty, dipping them in fry sauce is the best. They gave me 2 of the larger containers and only used 1 so they don't skimp on that. I think they gave me diet coke instead of coke though. Worth trying again to see if this one visit was a fluke. read more
