A joke of a poke bowl
    Caleb C.

Waited 15 minutes for this poke bowl and this is what they gave me. I'd rather a business be honest and tell me they are low on stock than lie and give this to a full paying customer. Unfortunately this is a one strike you're out scenario because this is disrespectful and dishonest. DO NOT COME HERE. The poke wasn't good either. Check out my other reviews for good poke, but stay far from here.

I loved my experience at Cuzins kitchen today. I was wanting to support Maui, and saw that Cuzins Kitchen was donating a % of all money made in the month of August to them. I loved that. When we got in, we were greeted kindly and was told to sit where we wanted. They had just turned on the movie Frozen, and as a mom I loved that! The kids sat still while they waited for their food. The food was made quick and it was absolutely delicious. The chicken has an amazing flavor, and there was a ton of it! I was impressed with how much food you got with your meal. Definitely worth the money. The kids loved their kids meals, and I was even offered a spam masubi that I have never had before. It was amazing! That's going to be something I will order from here on out!

This place is fire!!! The pulehu chicken was amazing & so was Mac salad! Great customer service, super friendly & overall great environment. Definitely will be back here

We were passing through Layton and discovered this gem! We moved from Hawaii to the mainland 5 years ago and miss the local flavors. Cuzins definitely satisfied that craving, everything was delicious. And I loved seeing Hawaiian trinkets. Thank you, Cuzins, for sharing some aloha!

    The teriyaki chicken :-)

The photo doesn't do the flavor justice, but this is what was left over from 2 regular plates of chicken (and we big dudes who can eat). So portions are PLENTIFUL! Char on the chicken was wonderful and chicken was juicy and cooked well. Sauce wasn't overly sweet and compliments the chicken very well. Only not 5 stars because only available water was by bottle and our food for dine in still came in styrofoam containers. Also, the chicken came whole and we had to cut ourselves. Not a big deal other than cutting with plastic ware on styrofoam isn't the greatest experience. Ambiance was fine. Nothing to write home about, but I was comfortable and felt like the place was clean. We were the only ones in the restaurant for some reason. This place should be packed! Would highly recommend :-)

    The Spam Musubi was perfection!

Always in such of authentic Hawaiian food and so happy I discovered Cuzins. My husband said it looks like what we have at our favorite deli in Maui. The Chicken Katsu was so flavorful, and the sauce was the perfect accompaniment. The macaroni salad was simple and delicious. The Spam Musubi had a slight char on the Spam. We did takeout but next will plan to dine in and sample more Hawaiian specialties.

I've been here a couple times. I love supporting local businesses and would rather support local than all the franchised restaurants especially with comfort food. The service is always very hospitable and always very kind. I love me a loco moco, but this one was just straight burnt. I love a little char, but this was not edible to me. Took a couple bites because I just hate wasting food. The flavor was bland and I thought the gravy could make up for it with the egg, but just couldn't be saved. Mac salad portion a little stingy as well. I'll return, but it will take some time. The date was Saturday, 6/15/24.

We stopped by here a few days ago for a late lunch. I wanted to love it but it wasn't my favorite. It was just ok. That said, it might perfectly to someone else's tastes so I suggest giving them a try to see what you think. I had the mini combo with puleho chicken and teri beef. My son had the teri beef and kalua pig and cabbage. We both agreed their sauce has a very strong soy sauce taste.

    Bomb!!!

BEST CHICKEN KATSU I have ever had!!! Moist and krispy! The rice was perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious

Had the Classic Maine Lobster Tail and 7 oz Grilled Sirloin Steak as my main entree's. Requested hush puppies and Chesapeake Fries as my sides. As for the two shrimp choices, I chose Grilled Shrimp and Garlic Shrimp Scampi. First of all, the Shrimp was 10/10! No complaints whatsoever. The 7 oz Grilled Sirloin Steak was requested well done and still had a ton of pink meat inside which made it completely inedible to me. Chesapeake Fries were layered at the very bottom making them completely soggy. Hush puppies were a welcome surprise and would rate a 10/10 on those. It also came with warm melted butter and fresh lemon slices and ketchup packets for the fries. The Orzo rice included was absolutely divine! It is an expensive meal but if you love seafood like myself I'd definitely recommend it! Everything did taste fresh all things considering.

My wife and I had not visited in years and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly, attentive, and wonderful with our kids. Our hostess, Gaby, went above and beyond with her warmth and hospitality. The food was delicious. Our kids loved trying lobster for the first time and they could not get enough of the cheddar biscuits, which they even said were better than Texas Roadhouse rolls. To make the birthday extra special, the staff sang happy birthday, brought out a giant ice cream goblet with a candle, and decorated the plate with a cute lobster design in strawberry and chocolate syrup. They also presented a hand-signed card from the entire team. As a fun bonus, the kids got to handle a real lobster and received personalized certificates. A huge thank you to the Layton Red Lobster staff for making my daughter's birthday so memorable. We cannot wait to come back.

Felt like I needed to give Teriyaki Grill in Layton a major SHOUT-OUT for always having amazing…read morefood that is FRESH and NEVER disappointing. Honestly, if it was my very last day on this Earth, my last meal would come from here. I haven't tried everything on their menu as I'm very partial to my beloved steak and shrimp, but there are other dishes that I have tried that I also highly recommend. First being their side dishes. Side of steak (generous portions that can be used to create other meals or eat raw on lunch which is what I do at work and have zero time to cook). Side of shrimp is the same, though less portions (probably because it's more expensive being seafood). The Super Bowl is a MUST TRY! Hearty filling protein of edamame, two poached eggs (I think they are poached?), side of pineapple, and avacodos. Speaking of pineapple, I've ordered it on the side and have also added it to my combo meals. It's grilled to perfection and is NEVER a disappointment! Kid's Meal Steak is an excellent value for the price and gives you the vegetable/rice/noodle options with their delicious teriyaki sauce but at a less pricetag; however, it is still very filling. The exact same goes for their "Little Combo" which I love to have when I don't want leftovers. Their Combo Salad is beyond delicious! Broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cucumber, edamame, peppers, and mixed greens like Romaine lettuce to keep you very full and satisfied along with their two offerings of protein choices (you can also take off whichever veggies you don't want). Comes with two salad dressings or (if you're like me), it's so flavorful, you can eat it raw! The sushi here is just as good as any Japanese/Asian restaurant. Tried their "Half & Half Sushi", which is 4 very LARGE pieces of spicy crab roll, and 4 very LARGE pieces of California roll. Also comes with soy sauce, ginger & wasabi, and complimentary chopsticks. I've tried their Little Spicy Chicken and the chicken is very moist and tender. Spiced just right for those that don't want too much heat. Once again you can add Death Crier, Hot, Mid, or Mild to suit your preferences to the meal. I've fluctuated with all their spice levels and haven't been disappointed once! Hot and Mid are just as good (if not milder) than my favorite Death Crier. Try this place for yourself at least once! I promise you won't be disappointed!! Plus your scale at home will thank you when you weigh yourself and see that you haven't gained a pound ;+)!

After sleeping with a bucket on one side of my head and a garbage can on the other, this place deserves every last bad review that they will ever receive! Waited nearly two hours for a takeout order. I had absolutely zero issues with that, provided all of my detailed instructions were followed. I explicitly requested if they were going to charge me additional fees after my initial order total then to cancel the ENTIRE order! Not only was I charged additional fees to my credit card after the fact, my instructions weren't even followed! The most expensive item (especially since I was charged almost $5 extra for requesting lettuce) was the Dynamite Poke Bowl with rotten fish, rotten produce, saturated in sauce (that I explicitly requested ON THE SIDE), and most disgusting of all, warm creamy rice that was supposedly in their "homemade cream sauce". Absolutely nowhere in the description of the Dynamite Poke Bowl did it state it was going to have rice or give you an alternative option. Whatever is in that disgusting sauce should be retired and banned from the FDA! The supposed "fish" was all shredded barely there and nevermind I didn't receive the furikake with red onions that I was also charged additional for. The Kimchi was completely sour and opening the lid on the little cup you could smell the foulness. Yes, I did try a bite of everything that I ordered to leave an appropriate review. The Kurama Ebi (prawn) shows up with it's head and shell on which wasn't a big issue because I order seafood boils all the time. However, this poor prawn was all shell, no meat, and was discolored and mushy upon peeling. The Gyutan (beef tongue) was charred aplenty, but still impossible to eat because it was way too chewy and no amount of lemons were going to help it. I really was having a great day and that's why I thought I would be 3 for 3 and try this newer popular sushi restaurant and trust me, the pricey menu items certainly don't achieve the fresh experience that all of us Sushi lovers expect. Will never return and will forever be telling everyone about this horrible waste of time and money experience. And to think I actually left them a tip on top of the overcharges. Ha!
