This review is less about the food, and more about decor. I saw on Instagram that this is one of the few retro Burger King's around. So we were in the neighborhood and decided to go. First about the food I actually got a chicken sandwich that I pretty much have not had since I was a child and I really liked it. Service was quick. They had kiosk to order so that would efficiently. Now the decor is super cute cause you can actually sit in a car and eat. It's all kind of 1950s retro themed. Records and jukebox themed. This makes for a really cute stop on a trip and to take a few photos. They do have a sign that photos are not allowed, but it wasn't enforced as you could see. read more

I Don't really go to burger kings but after my high schoolers basketball game this location struck their eye. It's super vintage in the inside which brings a lot of nostalgia and as simple a fast food restaurant an be? This was a cute quick experience with the family. The customer service was great! And the food came out quick. There was this dill pickle burger that was good. Plenty of seating and they have to old school paper crowns here. Made me feel like a kid again. If You are in the area? Went to the Burger King in Thurmont, Maryland last Sunday night. Our food was very fresh and very hot. The fries were absolutely wonderful. The service was quick and we were addressed immediately as we walked in the door. The restaurant was very clean, especially the restrooms. I plan on coming back here again. read more

So... really cute interior. Love the classic diner look. Location is very convenient, right off of hwy 15. Food was good/normal for Burger King and easy to order on the app. Now... for the bad. The Staff assaulted me viciously while stealing from customers by over charging. $ 60 for 4 impossible burgers and then they refused to use the rewards app on Burger Wednesday. I am afraid of them. They make up false claims. I called them out on over charging me and asked for a refund. I called the Corporate office and I have grounds to sue. I visited in the am and ordered two breakfast sandwiches using the app before work. I had to down load it to get the special price At the drive thru. I just returned to this country and have visited Lots of BurgerKings all over the world. It's toxic behavior at the BurgerKing in Thurmont. They said they know nothing about the BurgerKing app. Strange ? I asked about the impossible burger price on Wednesday and Tina said that's today for $3. She seemed only interested in timing the drive thru . I would return at my lunch break. When I arrived they refused to take the code and charged full price for 2 impossible burgers nearly $20. I gave them the code. again they were only interested in timing the drive thru not customers. I knew they were not telling the truth . I just wanted to get out of there and said I would take this up with them later. I returned after work and asked for a refund . They proceeded to lie about the entire day and threatened to call the police to cover up "their theft " and habit of over charging customers. They attacked me and slandered my name to cover up their errors. I gave them the rewards account and my Bank account debit... illustrating I had paid $60 for 4 impossible burgers and I wanted to use the rewards to cut the expenses. They know they over charged. The young girl who made the error also made false charges against me. These girls belong in jail. They lie to cover up their theft. I was victimized . Beware this places is low class with untrained staff with little education. They abuse people. I do not trust them at all . I reported them for over charging customers . They attack anyone that calls them out on overcharging . They are stealing from customers. Another person complained about this staff and store for doing the same thing. These people are whats wrong with the USA. I don't know where they learnt to communicate and why they abuse people but they do. I am a Data Scientist. Highly educated. These people are thieves. I have stopped at this Burger King a few times on my trips between my Buffalo home office and my Northern VA headquarters. I have always had good service and good food on my visits, maybe three of four times per year. What I find cool now is that the inside is now designed to look like a 1950s diner. The look makes for a more interesting visit. If you are looking for a BK in this part of Maryland, this is the place to stop. Yes, the sign is easily visible from Rt. 15 and it's easy on-off, but that's about the best thing this BK has to offer. (I only go there when I'm desperate, it's right down the street from me.) I love the flame-broiled taste, but the quality control and service is just not there (you'd be better off going to the Wendy's in town), and it's different every time I go. For example: the first time I had the crispy chicken sand. it was perfect, the next time it was raw, the third time it was overcooked or the oil was too hot (brown and crusty hard.) Unfortunately, the new grilled chicken is disgusting, it must be marinated in something way too long, one bite and it fell apart and the texture was so mushy bad I spit it out. When you can get them, the shakes (esp. chocolate) are the best in the fast-food business IMO, smooth and creamy, but the key phrase is 'when you can get them.' The soft serve/milk shake machine has been out of order 3 times between May and July (you'd think they'd order a new one, duh), so if you want something to cool off, don't depend on it here, go elsewhere. (I highly recommend the shakes at the Kountry Kitchen in town; it's not fast-food, but they're the best I've ever had.) Once I ordered the onion rings and they were so over-salted that's all you could taste (not good) and my fingers were gritty w/ salt. The next time I ordered them I asked for no salt, and was told 'the onion rings aren't salted'; hmm, something is amiss here. They are even heavy-handed w/ the salt on the Whopper burger meat; once, I bit into one, it was all I could taste. (But I found out you can special order them unseasoned if you don't want your blood pressure to go through the roof.) And finally, I don't know what goes on at the local high school, but some of the servers at the drive-through are seriously brain-challenged. I gave one a $20 bill once and she was so perplexed she just stared at it like she'd never seen one before and said "Oh, a twenty" and then had to get help from her manager to make change (even though the register does it for you.) This place is great for one reason: it's right off of Route 15 and its half way between Northern Virginia and Harrisburg, PA (okay, fine that's too reasons) This place stands out in my mind only because one of the few Burger Kings that has a diner feel to it (jukebox and all). The other reason it stands out is that there always more staff in this joint than there are customers and somehow or another they are screaming at each other about how the orders aren't coming out of the kitchen right. Placed a order inside and waited for our food. When we got back with our food our entire order was wrong or missing items. When I called to bring to their attention the mistake I was told to bring the entire order back and they could either remake it or refund the entire order. After taking it back I was only offered a refund and they told me that I ordered the wrong items and they were doing me a favor, never again will we eat or order food at this restaurant and I would recommend anyone go elsewhere! read more

I am a HUGE Burger King Aficionado. I try to visit every one in each State. This one is by far the best one in the State of Maryland, just edging out the the West St Annapolis location. The service is excellent, friendly, and most importantly the Whoppers are cooked to perfection. They actually look like the picture. My only concern would be the speed of service of particular items. Particularly, reports of it taking over 2 months to be served only 5 grams of the Devil's Lettuce (most service industry workers could provide in under an hour). I just went through your drive thru. I ordered 4 BK stackers and was the ONLY patron @ your restaurant number 13265 in THURMONT MARYLAND . The burgers I received were partially raw. I called your store the second I bit into the one burger and the "girl" on the phone who stated her name was "Ruby" was absolutely unprofessional and disgusting. My mother spoke with her first and she berated my mother and said she did not know what she was talking about. My mother requested the manager and "Ruby" stated she was the manager. Then my mother informed "Ruby" that there was no way these burgers were cooked and she again insisted my mother was a moron and "Ruby" told her to eat them anyway, it's not like she'd die..." This is when I took the phone from her and spoke with "Ruby". I am a professional chef, graduated top of my class with a 4.0 gpa. I know food safety. I informed "Ruby" that there was no way shape or form these burgers ever made it past 140 degrees tops. She yelled at me that I knew nothing about your processes or food.
