What a cool restaurant!! They are located in a former bank with a vault, so they were very clever…read moreand put seating inside the vault! We didn't realize this until we were already eating so we did not sit in the vault this time. When you walk in the restaurant, they have a counter where you order your food immediately. Then they have you pick your own table and bring your food out to you when it is ready. This seems to be a common theme with the restaurants in Pittsburgh. I ordered the buffalo fried chicken sandwich with fries and the hubby ordered chili dogs. We also ordered two Cokes which came in glass bottles. Very fancy but not much in those little bottles. We had to buy another one while we ate. The food was phenomenal!! My chicken sandwich was juicy and flavorful. But the real winner here were my hubby's chili dogs. Those were the best chili dogs we've ever had!!! Yes, I said we because I had to try them out. The chili sauce is off the chain!!! So delicious! And not a bad price for all the food either. We left with big smiles on our faces.

I thought this place was pretty great! They do, in fact, make pretty darn good burghers. And…read moresliders, and sandwiches, and other kinds of American food. I got the Shadyside OLO with chicken and fries, as well as a Leona's lemon meringue ice cream sandwich. Both were super tasty. The sliders were the perfect mini size, and everything was super tasty. Bacon was super crispy, chicken was cooked well, good amount of mushrooms, nice creamy sauce. All a thumbs up from me! Fries were a bit soggy and not too memorable, and ranch was pretty typical. The ice cream sandwich was delicious. Decent price, but awesome quality. Loaded with lots of ice cream and a very flavorful base. Definitely recommend you give this place a shot!

Stopped into Fat Butcher in Lawrenceville expecting just to grab some meat for the week, and ended…read moreup walking out with lunch too because everything looked too good to pass up! It's a proper neighborhood butcher shop on Butler Street, the kind of place that had mostly disappeared around here. They do whole animal butchery with meat sourced from local Pennsylvania farms, and you can feel how much the folks working there care about what they're doing. It's not a huge space, just a display case full of cuts, a wall of house made goods, and a small sandwich menu, but that's part of the charm. The staff were friendly and happy to point me in the right direction. The sandwiches are what really got me though. The smash burger is fantastic, a double patty on a challah bun with that special sauce, and you can actually taste the quality of the beef, which makes sense given the whole operation is built around good meat. I also grabbed some of their house made pastrami, and it did not disappoint, tender and full of flavor. Knowing everything is made in house, right down to the bacon and sausages, makes it even better. If you live nearby and don't have a butcher yet, this is the one.

Love the decor in the shop. There were many prepared food options in the fridge, as well as various cuts of meat/preparations of it. We got two sandwiches, the cheesesteak and the marbella. I dont think we ended up with the correct order because we didn't end up with a cheesesteak, but did not realize until we got home. I'm positive that if I went back to the shop they would've remedied the situation, but I didn't feel it was necessary! The sandwich we did end up with was good as well, unsure which one it was though. Very fair prices, and our dog was so happy we brought him home a bone as well! Looking forward to coming back and trying everything they have to offer.

Maybe a few people at the bar and a couple of tables. We ordered nachos, burger, and a gyro. We waited over nearly 90 minutes for food. Every time we asked we were told the nacho cheese needed to be heated up. Funny that when the food arrived, the cheese on nachos was cold? The server/owner/whoever didn't seem concerned when I mentioned the time. If you want to have a beer, fine. If you have any desire to get your moneys worth buying any type of food, skip it. There are so many better options on Butler St. that serve the same beer with better service and food and/or food trucks who will be mindful of your order. Sad.

We got a few beers and started with nachos. The nachos were good, a bit pricey, but good. We didn't love the beer cheese so I wouldn't start with this again. Their menu has a lot so no concerns. We decided to get their Yinser Cheesesteak and I would get it again. It was big, the cheesesteak was very good (slightly on the sweet side). The only way to improve this meal is grill the bun but that is preference. We got here and no one was here but by the time we left there was 20 or more. The bartender was great: super friendly and he was a great guide. The place was slightly loud in the main room but they have a lot of space to spread out; there are other areas you can go to for large groups or groups that want a quieter environment. The key...I WILL BE HERE AGAIN.
