What a cool restaurant!! They are located in a former bank with a vault, so they were very clever and put seating inside the vault! We didn't realize this until we were already eating so we did not sit in the vault this time. When you walk in the restaurant, they have a counter where you order your food immediately. Then they have you pick your own table and bring your food out to you when it is ready. This seems to be a common theme with the restaurants in Pittsburgh. I ordered the buffalo fried chicken sandwich with fries and the hubby ordered chili dogs. We also ordered two Cokes which came in glass bottles. Very fancy but not much in those little bottles. We had to buy another one while we ate. The food was phenomenal!! My chicken sandwich was juicy and flavorful. But the real winner here were my hubby's chili dogs. Those were the best chili dogs we've ever had!!! Yes, I said we because I had to try them out. The chili sauce is off the chain!!! So delicious! And not a bad price for all the food either. I thought this place was pretty great! They do, in fact, make pretty darn good burghers. And sliders, and sandwiches, and other kinds of American food. I got the Shadyside OLO with chicken and fries, as well as a Leona's lemon meringue ice cream sandwich. Both were super tasty. The sliders were the perfect mini size, and everything was super tasty. Bacon was super crispy, chicken was cooked well, good amount of mushrooms, nice creamy sauce. All a thumbs up from me! Fries were a bit soggy and not too memorable, and ranch was pretty typical. The ice cream sandwich was delicious. Decent price, but awesome quality. Loaded with lots of ice cream and a very flavorful base. Definitely recommend you give this place a shot! read more

"It's an old bank, and the vault is still there!" My friends and I exclaim, entering Burghers. We love having something to explore along with enjoying a drink. This unique spot has some very cool features including pinball, remnants from its days as a bank, a second floor bar, and great daily specials. There's a dedicated parking lot outside which is nice to avoid Millvale street parking. I've been here twice now and both times the service is friendly and immediate. Beers are poured in correct German style glassware. My kids liked the food. Definitely look forward to coming back and have recommended it. read more

Burghers Brewing recently opened in Millvale in a space that used to be a bank. So far, I have loved the beer and the burghers. The $10 Burgher on Tuesdays reminds me of an old school burger. The condiments and onions are crisp. You order at the main counter near the entrance and the food is brought to wherever you are sitting. The space itself is 2 floors which is appreciated. I love that there are pinball machines available to play. I would like to see some events at this location as it has good potential to be a staple in the area! read more

Highly recommend checking this spot out! Newly renovated - in an old bank... the vault is accessible to dine in- HOW COOL! Order at the counter and pick up when name is called- delicious beer and food. Beer is made in house and very good! The food menu is mostly smash burgers with a few other sandwiches, sides and salads! The Pittsburgher burger was amazing- loaded with cheddar, onion, pickle, coleslaw, fries- totally hit the spot... two other highlights were the Mac and cheese and their pierogies!!! This is the Burghers spot and is taking over as the primary brewing location. It is HUGE and beautiful inside. The 14,000 sq ft use to be a bank. They even renovated the vault into a spot to have a beer-very cool. Upstairs there a second bar, more seating and arcade games. On this level you can also get to a small private parking lot. They consistently have solid beers and a variety of styles. Favorite sips: Smoke Control, German-style Smoked Helles, 5.1% Puddler, Schwarzbier, 4.1% Favorite bites: Polish Hill Burger which has cheddar, caramelized onions, a pierogi, and mayo. I also had their famous shoestring fries I really like that they have meat-alternative options for their burgers. The food came out pretty fast too. read more

4/12/25 Ate List: Morningside Burger - 8.2 Fries - 7.5 Coleslaw - 7 Cola- 6.1 Burger was really really good. Good runny egg, well cooked bacon, good size on burger patty. It was delicious. Flavors were delightful. Fries were a great shoestring style fry. Addicting, light, all around pretty good. Some a bit burnt, others a little less crispy. Coleslaw had great flavor, but just needs a mix. A little tougher with one plastic fork and it arrives with carrots not mixed in. A little strange but not a serious problem. The cola had a weird taste to it. Not worth skipping a Fountain Drink option in my mind. They should ditch the bottles and get a coke or Pepsi machine - either would be an upgrade. Space was interesting. Think this was an old bank. Very spacious. Could also see this place getting very loud VERY quickly. Conversations echo, space is a giant open square. Don't know the particular solve but could hear employees talking to each other pretty clearly on the floor below me. read more

I didn't realize they opened a Millvale location. It's pretty new & it was busy on a Thursday night. I stopped in because I needed a quick dinner before a show at Mr. Small's. I sat at the bar, which here only has 10 stools. If you sit at a table it's more like fast food at this location, you order & pick up at the counter. It's a big space because it was an old bank. In the back the vault is still there. Brew tanks fill the middle. The bartender who served me was nice, but busy & she didn't know much about the beers. From the corner, where I sat, I could not see the sign with the beers on it... And she didn't tell me that there was a QR code that I could scan for the list. It worked out fine though, and I had a couple beers and my Shadyside burger was hot & good... Although I do like their shoestring fries, it was kind of the bottom of the barrel, and there were a lot of very small broken pieces of fries, which were really hard to eat given there were no utensils. I had a better experience at my Zelienople location, and Lawrenceville, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because they are new. I actually like their chili dogs at Burghers too. Update 8/22: Stopped in for Happy Hour. The hot dog is $4 & then $3 extra if you add fries. Fries were better than my previous visit. I like their Knob & Tube IPA. Sat at bar. I am doing a hot dog tour. So I obviously had to give the hot dogs a try. I ordered the kids hot dog and fries. It was a good hot dog. I wish the onions were chopped up more but other than that I would get it again. I need to try the chili dog next time. But the burgers are still my fave thing on the menu. read more

Usual mid beer but not in a good way where IPAs are okay but all the other beers aren't good at all. Japanese toasted rice beer was bland, fruited sour tasted like yeast with no fruit at all. Got the canned seltzer and that was delish but not made by them. Burgers were super mid, maybe because it was on special but it tasted a little better than McDonalds at best, no smash/caramelization at all, way too much mustard. The fries were small and seemed old and refried. Their ranch is trying to be fancy with peppercorn and cheese instead of just normal yinzer ranch, so beware. I wanted to like this place especially considering it's the only brewery out of the three in town that is open on a Tuesday before a show at Mr. Smalls. Def not worth it after a few drinks, burger special and an 80 dollar tab. read more

What a cool place. You walk in through a revolving door and you can pick your seat. The building its self is worth the trip. We were greeted at the front, friendly staff. We sat In the vault. All ordering is on your phone. The service is spotty so get on their wifi, they post the password upfront. We ordered our burgers and they came within about 15 minutes. Unfortunately, I had a very lackluster experience here this past weekend. Myself and a group of friends stopped over for drinks and burgers on a Saturday around 5pm. There was a medium-sized crowd on hand seated both upstairs and downstairs. Despite the crowd, the line at the upstairs bar moved quickly. The one positive was that the bartenders were prompt and friendly. First thing to note is that they swipe your card to pay and leave your tab open without saying anything. I didn't realize until after I was driving home that I never tipped and thus never closed out. They ended up closing my tab for me and adding tip to it ($10 total for a beer). Next, my whole table ordered food that came out within 15 minutes. I also ordered a burger and half size of the dirty fries. After 30 mins with no sign of food, I went to the bar counter to check. The bartender suggested walking downstairs to the kitchen counter to inquire. As I was heading that way, a server showed up with my food. Immediately, I noticed the fries were incorrect and the server handed me the plate and said he'd go down and grab correct fries. Another employee overheard the exchange and said, "wait" and took the plate from me and gave it to the employee to take back down with him. Again, I was left with no food. My entire table had been finished eating for about 30-45 mins by the time I received my correct order. The burger was fine, but it was a "mini" and definitely small for $11. The fries were good (additional $4) and had plenty of toppings. Lastly, the women's bathroom was pretty dirty and had urine on the floor. I opted to wait until I got home to use the bathroom. The Burgers and chicken were excellent but they came out with fries pieces, not full fries (they were all broken into small pieces). I was happy the beer selection was not all IPA and had a good selection of pilsners and others. My one beer I had was "ok". Would have tried others but the ordering system is not good. There was only one person upstairs and one downstairs taking food orders, drink orders and pouring when we came in on a Friday early evening. By the time I was ready to order another the line was long and now we had to wait in line just to close out our check. The food runners had no clue on where they were supposed to bring food despite the food numbers on the table. The building and inside certainly looked nice. It's basically a very expensive and worse McDonalds. They don't serve you your food, you have to order it and get it yourself. Unlike McDonalds, you can only buy a beer, a can of soda or a small cup of water. There's no refills on the cola and if you spill it, they won't give you a new one. Also unlike McDonalds, they give you one napkin and one ketchup with your meal. You have to ask if you want more, while other restaurants will let you take what you need. This was a problem when... One of our drinks spilled. We tried to get someone to clean it up since we only were given one napkin. He did a poor job and didn't even touch our table, so half our table was unusable due to cola being all over it. They didn't even have a mop to clean the floor up and just placed a "caution" sign there. The food isn't that good. The burgers are your McDonalds sized $2 double cheese burgers and the fries are all small bottom of the bag fries that maybe measure 2 inches tops. If you plan on eating here, I would advise you to eat something before, because you will go home hungry. I would never go back here. 2 burgers with fries (one with chilli) and 1 drink cost us $37. It was not worth it. Go to McDonalds instead, where you can get 6 burgers and 5x the fries for the same price. Or go to Monte Cellos where you will get a burger 3x the size, lots of fries and get your food served to you for the same price. read more

Purchased quite a few beers while we waited for our pizza to be finished across the street. It was a nice evening, so we enjoyed the beers on the porch. While enjoying our tasty beers, our pizza was ready so we brought it over to enjoy with our beers. Clearly we did not see the sign that you couldn't bring outside food over, or else we would have respected that rule. A worker came out and was very rude and condescending to us saying "clearly there isn't a sign saying no outside food". There was, and we didn't see it. Instead he chose to be a dick to paying customers. We offered to leave with our pizza and finish our beers and he said he would "let it slide this time" which rendered the entire exchange completely unnecessary. All ya had to do was be respectful and we would have no problems with the service! Not sure why it had to be the way it was. Don't come here if you're looking to be treated respectfully and talked to like an adult. Makes sense that other places don't recommend people to come here. read more

First time customer. Wanted something small, so I ordered a bowl of chili. My mistake for not noticing that it's $14.50 for what amounts to a cup and a half. Didn't get sour cream but wanted hot sauce which resulted in a $.75 upcharge. Really just abou 10 cents worth of hot sauce. Definitely would not order that again. Self service ordering. Be careful when scanning the teepee card on the table. It takes you to a bogus website and you think you are creating an account to place an order and ask you for email address and credit card information. It signed me up for a subscription service of some sort. The employee said he had no idea what the teepee card were on the table in the first place because they aren't even offering cocktails. Worst service ever experienced. Staff need to get their shit together. Clueless and running like chickens with their heads cut off. Had trouble processing my beer order, and the food order allegedly didn't go through. After 30 minutes, I inquired about the order with the kitchen expeditor. They didn't receive it. They asked if I still wanted it, I replied yes, then returned to the vault room. Another 30 minutes go by, I walk back and other food orders were being expedited, and somehow mine got shuffled to the bottom of the list. I really wanted to like this place. Seems like they spared no expense in re-habbing the old bank, but first experiences are a lasting one. There are so many better places in The Burgh with top notch customer service. Beware. Don't leave your tab open. We order 2 beers at the downstairs counter and gave our card to run a tab. We went upstairs and sat at a table and ordered 2 more beers at the upstairs counter. When we went to pay at the upstairs counter they said $55.71. My husband said that is incorrect we only had 4 beers. It look several minutes to correct and we paid $33.02 with a tip. The following Saturday I was checking my bank account and saw that they charged me $33.02 and $56.71. I reached out to Burghers that day to give them the opportunity to correct the error and was told they would look into and someone would get back to me, no one did so I called the next day and was told accounting is probably working on it. It's been 5 days since I reached out to them and have heard nothing. I had to call my bank and dispute the charge. Not happy with the service and the fact that we paid $89.00 for 4 beers! read more
