We had a power outage in our neighborhood one time and we couldn't make dinner. It was a week night and we stopped in here. We live super close (Edgewood/Wilkinsburg line) and 3 of us walked in. The bartender/worker saw us and then ignored us. We sat down at a table in the almost empty restaurant. We sat for 20 minutes before leaving. Nobody came over or gave us water, nothing. I honestly don't know how this place stays in business. This was months ago and we have never been back. Thursday nights at Dive Bar on Braddock Avenue are the best. The beer selection and food are both decent, but the big draw is karaoke with Mixmaster Mag from 8-11pm. She has a fantastic set up that makes us all sound like the rockstars that we could have been if day jobs weren't a necessity. This place is great! I came here with a large group on a Sunday night and there was no wait and plenty of seating. Staff was super nice and service was fast, especially for a group our size. I love how big their menu is and how there's something for everyone. They have a nice cocktail menu and a beer list with local breweries. My friends all enjoyed their food. I really like their wraps and salad. I got the Thai chicken wrap and it was a good portion. I like that you can swap the side of chips for a side salad or fries. Overall, decent spot! Definitely recommend checking them out. They also have a pool table here I think. read more

I want to be like this place I really do. Been there twice. The inside is nice and the bar is really nice. The staff we've had have been good and attentive. The food is just mediocre. That is very disappointing. Chicken sandwich was nearly burnt, yet not dried out. The sweet potato tots were very over cooked and small...they have potential. The burgers were good. Went to the North Hills location last weekend for brunch and went to the regent square location today for brunch again. North Hills was super good, which is why I wanted to try again. I got the farmers market omelette before, so I wanted to try something new, and got the BBQ breakfast bowl. I had to have my friends move it away from me so I wouldn't throw up. The first thing I saw when it was put in front of me was an enormous chunk of fat. The meat was genuinely inedible with the amount of fat and looked to be old. I was really hungry so I tried to scrape it all off, but the potatoes at this location were different than at the North Hills, and were extremely greasy and soggy. The eggs were thankfully normal eggs but all I can say about that food was that it was gross and I genuinely hope no one else has to eat it ever. As if in a desperate attempt to live up (or, better, down) to their own name, Dive Bar recently offered me one of the worst dining experiences I've had in 2022. From the get-go, the ambiance and service at this seemingly friendly neighborhood restaurant were off-putting. Odd, soundscape-type music played from their speakers as we walked in, stressing their audio system to its screechy limits, and two separate waitresses introduced themselves to us, portending trouble in paradise. The first unceremoniously fell into a "Caution-Wet Floor" sign on her way away from our table, while the second based her beer recommendations solely on which brew had landed her blacked-out behind the wheel of a (hopefully unoperational) car a few days prior. Taken aback by this strange summons to abuse alcohol, I ordered a "Misfit Toys." This stout promised a hint of peppermint but delivered a bona fide bomb of it instead; I could hardly finish this gimmicky slog. Unfortunately, my food was even worse! I ordered a fried cod sandwich: massive, bland, tasteless. Just to show that I am on no screed, I will note that my companion said his ahi tuna roll was good. On our way home, as we passed a Taco Bell, I quipped that we could've had a tastier dinner there for one-fifth the price. Eh. I'm not a fan of any of their locations. However, I had high hopes for this latest opening in my old neighborhood. Big disappointment. I just don't get how people like this local chain to the point that they keep opening more. I've had nothing but shotty service and subpar food. No difference here, service is definitely lacking friendliness as well as timeliness. The food tastes like it's purchased from a warehouse freezer club, tossed in hot oil and dumped on a plate. Asked one employee to turn up the heat. Who want to dine in a cold atmosphere. Again, finally asked another employee to turn up the heat. Iwas told if they would turned up the heat.The furnace would break. Finally,someone did turnup the heat. One server for a busy Saturday night plus to-go orders equate to slow service. My friends and I were drinking at another local place, but soon realized we needed a place to eat. Wow, did Dive Bar ever accommodate. By the end of the evening, the entire staff felt like they were all of our best friends, cooks, dishwashers, servers, everyone. I don't expect everyone to have the experience we had, but the entire staff (especially the bartender) really made the night magical. We will be back! THANK YOU! read more

I'm sorry to hear other patrons have not had as good a time as we have here. Came back with the same group, this time for brunch. There are so many good options on the menu: eggs Benedict with crab, breakfast burrito with chorizo, smoked Gouda omelet, and an AM burger with a beef patty, bacon, AND Canadian bacon. If you want to eat the El Toro burrito with your hands, ask for the pico and sour cream on the side. Everybody cleared their plates. We just had minor annoyances: the food/plates seemed to cool off quickly; there wasn't much chorizo in the burrito; and we had to flag down the waitress to get our check. Nevertheless, with so much more menu to try, we'll be back. read more

Yay another new restaurant in the square. I was so excited that Dive finally opened. We went last night and I was surprised how many people were there for a Tuesday evening. We were seated almost immediately. I ordered the Pulled pork sandwich, my husband ordered the knuckle and my daughter the chicken poppers. Which actually weren't poppers at all, they were more of a chicken tender. I agree with Meredith's review, there was an overwhelming amount of fries. I'm a fan of fries but there was no way I was finishing all of them. My pulled pork surprised me by being amazing! My husband really liked his sandwich and my daughter scoffed down the chicken. The service was quick and the decor was nice. My only complaint is we were seated right next to what seemed to be a broken window. It was boarded and there were towels trying to block the draft. It was still quite chilly at that table. Hopefully they get that fixed and my review can move up to 5 stars. Can't wait to try something else on the menu next time. read more

When we where finally able to ask, the bartender tried to turn it around back on us by saying... "I wished that you would've let me know earlier because the kitchen closes in 8min!" ‍ Really?!?!? Anyway.... The wing specs: Not good!! I didn't have any but somehow knew just by the smell & look of them! ‍ Tone didn't took 1 single bite & that was it!! ‍ The wings had to of been frozen then cooked & seasoned. The seasoning was not tasty. Although the bartender was a jerk to begin he did insist on refunding us after we didn't want a to go box & didn't eat but a bite. At least there's that! ‍ The drink specs: My drink was the peach martini which was so, so!!! When I got it last time it was good!! This was this location's 2nd chance. It's not looking good for them. I ordered from here through Postmates and had it delivered. I ordered the ahi tuna bites, loaded croquettes, and a French dip with fries. The ahi tuna bites were left out of my order entirely so I didn't get to try them and had to contact Postmates to get them refunded. The croquettes and French dip sandwich were not good, they were both extremely bland and tasteless. The only positives were that the sandwich bread and the French fries were okay. Super disappointing experience overall. read more

Good service. I love their sweet potato tots with the cinnamon butter. I had an entire serving to myself, no sharing. Sweet potatoes are healthy, right? Their Thai Beef Salad was tasty with the exception of the beef. I'm not sure if they added extra salt to the beef after the marinade but it was pretty salty. So much that I would probably never get it again. They do the unhealthy foods pretty well and I will most likely stick to that menu from now on. read more

Awful. After being regulars, we stopped ordering from Dive Bar (Regent Square) because they consistently left items off our takeout orders. After about a year, we decided to give them another try tonight, buy it was worse! The order was 30+ min late, and 3 of 4 items were wrong. My Loco Moco was missing the egg, onion straws, scallions and cheese, which is more than half the ingredients. The kids burgers, and I'm not exaggerating, had patties about the size of a quarter, and only a little thicker. The kids pasta container was less than half full, when it's usually full. Actually, we're pretty sure the Cobb Wrap was missing an ingredient, too, though it was less obvious. When I got there, the staff had completely ignored the three of us waiting for takeout orders. When the food finally came, they stuck it on a shelf behind the bar and made no attempt to figure out whose it was, adding to the delay. The manager made excuses, and gave a token discount that was inadequate since I was now leaving 45+ minutes late, and most of the food was cold by now. To top it off, the staff openly bad mouthed the takeout customers who left before me upset over the delay. I can only imagine what they said about me. read more

Great place for brunch! We showed up on a Sunday at 1:00 and there was still plenty of seating to choose from. Waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. A brunch with mimosas for $20 is a good deal if you ask me! Will definitely be returning. read more

I had a good meal here with some friends this week. They were able to accommodate a group of 10. Our waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the General Tso's Cauliflower and the Thai Beef Salad. The cauliflower had a ton of sauce which was really nice. The poor reviews are spot on! Went Friday night and got a salad with salmon and the salmon was undercooked. Went Sunday for brunch and the food was just a disaster. Got funnel cake and chicken. The chicken was undercooked and rubbery at the same time. Could not finish. The funnel cake must have been dripped into the fryer cause it came out looking like onion straws. You ever try to eat crunchy funnel cake the diameter of paper clips? Not easy or appealing. Decided to get BBQ sliders with Gouda. Can't go wrong, right? The came out without much in the way of meat or BBQ sauce and no cheese at all. really surprised it has been so bad, repeatedly. Really poor start. read more

My boyfriend and I come here frequently. They have a wonderful enclosed patio with large open windows. We have been eating our way through the menu and have never been disappointed! It's very rare we find a place with a large menu where everything is delicious and we receive great service every time. The bartenders craft up wonderful martinis (special shout out to the chocolate pretzel martini, it's a desert in a glass) and Moscow mules. They have a well stocked bar and a variety of rotating drafts. Great staff, great food and a great atmosphere! read more

I live around the corner from Dive Bar so I have eaten here regularly. I dined in a handful of times pre-COVID, and have ordered many times during the pandemic. The food is always amazing. I've tried probably 1/3 of the menu and have never been disappointed. I think they may have had a bit of learning curve based on some of these other reviews, but I wanted to personally say I've never had any problems here! read more

I was excited to try Dive Bar as to have another option in the area to walk to. It was fairly busy for a Tuesday night and being open for a week. It took awhile to get seated as a large party took up all the chairs and we needed a booth instead of a high top. At first it seemed like it was going to be difficult to handle this but they made it work. Because there was a large party our server was preoccupied. I hope they add additional servers in the future. Our food came quick. I got the mahi sandwich with fries. The mahi was overcooked - I didn't send it back though as I was hungry. You got an overwhelming amount of fries that you can't possibly eat. My friends enjoyed there sandwiches - pulled pork and knuckle. I dont eat meat so my options were limited. I may come back and try after they work out some kinks. Also the table next to the hostess stand is freezing as a draft comes in and they have part of it blocked using towels. read more

Great service and food. I enjoyed my mahi wrap and fried pickles. My wife enjoyed her bbq bowl and it was a great experience.

Got take out. Waited for a while past the time I was told food would be ready(which is fine) got my food and drove 5 minutes down the road. Food was cold. Burger was dry and relatively tasteless. Fries tasted like nothing but the cheese sauce. Mac and cheese was meh. Everything tasted like gators but with a new menu. For the price I expected more. We've been here a few times. The food is always very good. The drinks are hit and miss. They were out of one ingredient for a drink I wanted and the substitution recommended by the bartender was something no well-trained mixologist would ever do. Unfortunately my biggest concern will likely prevent us from going here or using takeout again. While waiting for a takeout order my husband happened to make eye contact with one of the kitchen staff who was not wearing a mask while he prepared food. Once the staff member realized he was busted he quickly snuck behind a wall and magically reappeared wearing a mask. If you're not willing to follow the rules keep yourself and others safe during a shift then you shouldn't be working. Management really needs to up their game, esp. during a pandemic. read more

So hoping there would be another family bar/restaurant option in Regent Square. Sadly, this isn't the place. First time here and was very pleased. My husband and I both got burgers with the sweet potato tots. Very good and cooked just right (I had well done, he had medium). Sat at bar but they have nice table seatings inside and out. Happy hour 5-7. Service and bartender were very good. We'll definitely be back. If you haven't tried you should.
