I am still looking for that ultimate pizza in Arizona but Buono's was really good. Their pizza is larger than most and they actually provide toppings (unlike Grimaldi's). You could actually pick a slice up without the toppings falling off and you did not have to fold the pizza to eat it. The flavor was excellent and the sliced sausage was a bonus. I wish the crust had a little more flavor, and that is the only reason I did not rate 5 stars. The service was 5 stars all the way. The wait staff was super attentive and went out of their way to ensure we were happy with our meal. They spent time at each table chatting with customers. I would recommend Buono's. Having originally lived in the NY City area and in Chandler now close to 30 years, we have to share that this is the best pizza we have eaten in a long time. The chef, Caesar, is an artist. The dough is spongy and tasty, the toppings generous and the sauce is sweet and not at all bitter. The staff is friendly and accommodating and it is comfortable to step into the restaurant. You won't be disappointed if you give them a try. PS They also have an incentive program - you receive a magnet with each pizza pie purchase. Learned from Go Gilbert FB page of the reopening. Used to dine for lunch at original location and it was so good. Dine in is open. Arrived at lunch time on Saturday and they were busy. Only 8 tables for dining inside. Many to go orders. We tried pasta, garlic knots, and slices. They serve Coke products but also have individual bottled Pepsi and some energy drinks for purchase. It was difficult to chose what to order but it was all so good. Their ricotta cheese is amazing! Service was friendly and prompt. Will definitely be back to try something else. Moved to Gilbert a few years ago, and took me a while to find my new go to pizza spot. Other reviewers are right, Buono's is the best. The slices and standard pizza is always amazing. Wings are the best I've had in YEARS! Sicilian pizza, 20 years since I've had, they offer it, and it's 100x better than crappy deep dish! My wife also says they have the best fries she's ever had. Cannot recommend enough. The atmosphere is small mom & pop and the lady working the counter & serving was amazing. She was friendly, bubbly, and so personable. I wish we had gotten her name. The food was OUTSTANDING. The crunch to soft ratio on the crust was perfection. They do not skimp on the toppings either. The sauce was sweet, but hearty. I was born and raised in NY. Since I moved to Arizona I have found out the hard way that I was spoiled rotten pizza and wings wise in NY. Along comes Buono's and kept me from moving back. The pizza brought me straight back to NYC. The wings brought me back to Buffalo, NY. The use real Franks Red Hot (the owner showed me the jug) not the cheap knock off stuff. I have been going to Buono's Pizza for a few months, mostly for lunch specials, since I work in the nearby EZ-Spaces offices. This is a 5 star NY style Pizza place. The location is in the strip mall along the north side of Williams Field road just west of Val Vista drive. Buonos is a small New York pizza joint that knows what authentic NY style pizza is. The crust is true, the cheese is right, and the pizza is always served piping hot. If you've had real NY pizza, you know what it should taste like. Buono's is the real deal. I assume much of their business is takeout and delivery, but I like to go for lunch since they have a 1 or 2 slice special with a soda. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is a delight to interact with. One thing I can do without is pizza places that claim to be NY style and act so cranky that you are supposed to accept their rudeness as part of the NY experience. Buono's doesn't make this mistake. Staff here is kind, always smiling, and treats you warmly as a guest. This is perfect. The food comes out quick, and the wings are always big and tasty. No tiny wings here. Very good pizza, but take their advice and DO NOT have it delivered! The Grub Hub hack driver, who I had tipped extra and paid the expedited delivery fee in advance, just dropped the pizza on the ground in front of my door, with the box open (!) and left. The app told me it had been delivered, the delivery guy didn't even bother to knock. He's lucky I didn't open the door at the time. I'll never spend another cent with Grub Hub, but I will return to Buono's...in person. read more

First time in tonight and after reading some of the other reviews the wife and I decided to get a couple of different dishes. First I'll start with the staff. Outstanding service from the minute we walked in. Our first dish was the disco fries. I'm from Jersey and this reminded me of hitting the diner late night after being down in Seaside Heights. The fries were crispy yet soft in the middle and there was plenty of cheese. The brown gravy was delicious and my only complaint was I wish there was more of it. We split the meatball sub and were not disappointed. There's a pizza joint I grew up on back home and this sub reminded me of my childhood. Lots of cheese, the meatballs were moist, tender and delicious, the sauce was sweet and tangy and the toasted bread was perfect. We each ordered a slice of pizza. I wanted to try the Sicilian but they were out. I wasn't mad about it because the regular slice was spot on. The dough was cooked perfectly, crunchy but chewy. The wife who always has to have a topping on her pizza said she could eat just a cheese pizza it was that good. And finally the sausage roll. Growing up my friends Italian grandmother made these all the time and this reminded me of her. It's not often you can find a place where everything you eat brings you back home. I don't understand all the 5 star reviews. I'm truly perplexed that so many people rated this food 5 stars. I came here based on those reviews and I left wondering have these people never eaten pizza before this place? We ordered a side of meatballs, a slice of white pizza and two slices of pepperoni. The meatballs came out right away, and several minutes before the pizza did. My daughter actually finished her meatballs by the time our pizza arrived. The meatballs were okay. Definitely didn't taste homemade and the sauce tasted similar to a jar sauce. The pizza was mediocre at best. It honestly gave me frozen pizza vibes to be honest. The crust was not the crispy yet chewy crust like many other New York style pizzas I've enjoyed. This was nothing like any New York pizza I've had. It's just wasn't great or authentic in my opinion. Also the young lady working the register could use a training or two on how to greet customers and how a smile goes a long way. She was border line miserable and honestly that was a huge put off especially for our first time here. Overall, when we are craving pizza we will stick with our usual fav and bypass this pizza restaurant. read more
