Buntopia is always a vibe. I went there for lunch after an annoying dentist appointment. They have a lunch special. I wasn't very impressed with the soup. It was just ok not flavorful. I will definitely choose the salad next time. I also had the aloha buns that were nicely dressed with lettuce and nuts. Pineapple and chicken is a nice combination. I purchased some shumai as a starter. I was very tempted to get a mocktail but drank a ginger ale instead.

Great food. I ordered one vegan and one regular sushi and the chef personally came over to ask if I was aware of the regular - since everyone else at the table was vegan. So that was really thoughtful to realize and ask. The place is cute, and quite a large space. Very casual. Alcoholic and non alcoholic. Chili miso soup is a must

Really love this spot. My boyfriend and I were looking for a cozy place to get ramen on a rainy night, and this popped up on yelp and google. As a lifelong vegetarian, I really loved all the options, as ramen places usually only have one veg option! And double points for a meat option for my bf. We got the veggie gyoza, a mocktail, a boba tea, a spicy vegan nugget ramen and a pork ramen, and everything was really tasty. I especially appreciated that the boba was made with nondairy milk!! The gyoza was perfectly fried and crispy and the ramen was flavorful and decorated beautifully. The ambience is really nice- warmly lit, cool decor and cozy! Service was fabulous, they're so friendly and welcoming. all in all, a top notch spot. we will definitely be back!

I ordered delivery from here. I love that they have a plethora of vegetarian and vegan options! The tandoori potato tots were tasty. The tandoori flavor was subtle, but it's hard to go wrong with crispy, melt-in-your mouth potatoes. I also enjoyed the vegan golden nuggets. These were also quite crispy with a bit of seasoning, and tasted like classic chicken nuggets. I tried the oyster bay buns. They were a little messy to eat and some of the mushrooms were hard to chew. I loved the slight sweetness of the bun. Very filling and could be a meal on its own. The behind the hell ramen was also pretty good. The broth was a bit tangy. They provided a good portion size of noodles and the ingredients were flavorful. I wish they offered the option to add spicy paste and egg. Everything arrived hot and fresh.

OMG THIS PLACE. Perfect if you are craving for a really good vegan spot in NYC/ Brooklyn! You have to check out Buntopia. They serve colorful Asian-fusion dishes that are fully plant-based and incredibly satisfying. Everything we ordered looked amazing and somehow tasted even better. We tried the Starry Lovina, Jimbaran Sunset, Oyster Bay, Korean Fried Chicken Buns, Vegan Pad Krapow with Ex Yo-egg, Tom Yam Kai Ramen, Mango Tango, and Sunset Blvd, and honestly, there wasn't a single miss. Very well balanced, and super comforting. Definitely one of our favorite vegan spots in Brooklyn. Highly recommend if you're plant-based or just looking for great food.

Came here for dinner with my friend on a Saturday night. Staff members were really friendly and helpful. Interior is clean and decorated with fake floral arrangements. We ordered the Classic Guabao and Shrimpatation meal set. The sweet potato fries were really fresh and crispy. Overall a great dining experience, would come here again.

Buntopia is a pleasant surprise, a great find on Yelp! Ordered food for delivery! The food arrived quickly and hot! A win win in the delivery world! I love that they have Vegan options available in over 70% of their dishes. And they also have Gluten Free Dishes as well. Their menu highlights all of these items! Yay for catering to the different dietary restrictions. I ordered the Tandoori Potato Tots! YUM! There's something about these crispy tots that keep you going back for more! Rubbed with Exotic Indian Tandoori Masala, just makes these one of the most crave-able items on the menu. Be sure to get a couple orders because they're that good! I love a good Bulgogi Beef Rice Bowl! Bulgogi Shredded Beef, Kimchi, Mozzarella Cheese, Edamame Beans, Avocado, Baby Tomato, Pickled Carrot and Radish, Scallion. This was super flavorful and tasty! The Bulgogi Beef was perfectly cooked! I think the only weird part of this rice bowl was the mozzarella cheese! For some reason it just didn't go with all of the flavors in the bowl. I'd omit next time. I love cheese, but not on this bowl. This is a great go to spot to put in the rotation! Sushi, Ramen, Rice Bowls, and Bao buns, what more can you ask for in one spot! Don't sleep on Buntopia, their food is fire!

I adored this restaurant. So beautiful inside and in the backyard Brooklyn garden. We sat in the Japanese balcony room. Heated and all. We had all the glittery and sparkles colorful mocktails. All were good. 1. Sunny lovina 2. Matcha matsumi 3. Jambalaya Sunset We ordered the vegan sushi rolls. I loved these. I dont enjoy real sushi and I could eat these forever 1. Rajivn tiger (tempura peanuts and my favorite) 3. Mango tango (loved the fresh mango) 4. Over the rainbow (seaweed caviar) 5. Vegan pad krapow excellent. Slight hint of spice, beautiful and fun vegan egg yolk running over the rice and mixed with the dish perfectly. Hands down get this. 6. I dont know if this was an off day, how they do take out or just the quality they strive for. The sushi looked like scraps from uneaten plates of food and tasted as such. The "crispy" tempura was stale af. The fried rolls (harumaki) were soggy and sitting on rotting lettuce. The dumplings, although the only decent portion of the order, had chewy filling and didn't have much flavor. Seeing as they didn't provide much sauce (about 1/2tsp for the harumaki and gyozas), ginger (not that I'd want more the table scraps tasted foul) or wasabi (they added 1/16th tsp of something green but I didn't dare to venture more); I think they may be on their last leg. Because there is no other for stealing someone's money and serving them straight up dookie. Overall I'm mad this was the only affordable thing I could find. I was starving and had no other food available but I think I was better off sleeping my hunger away.

Do not come here for Ramen. This is the worst ramen I have ever had, and that's saying a lot. The broth is bland, with virtually no flavor. The eggs are fully hardboiled, not marinated at all. The pork is hard. There are some unique ingredients (crabmeat, enoki mushrooms. etc.), but they don't save it. It looks nothing like the pictures on the website, whatsoever. Pictured on the site are soft-boiled, marinated eggs, a rich broth, etc. This was nothing of the sort. The customer service... they need to get it together on that end, too. They have a juice bar, but refuse to let you choose your own ingredients. They said it was because they were "too busy" - but I was *literally* the only person in the restaurant when I came in. Not figuratively. Literally. There wasn't a single other customer there (I wonder why... -_-). Moreover, they were extremely stingy with their condiments. They wouldn't let me take more than a dash or two of the chili powder to use in my ramen. If I hadn't had some of my own cayenne pepper and soy sauce at home to at least give it *some* flavor, I wouldn't have been able to eat it at all. --- It's a shame - I really wanted to like this place. I was so excited to have a ramen place down the block, that was also a juice bar and had a bunch of really neat looking, interesting culinary creations. But, while the bun I tried was okay, the ramen is awful. The customer service is lacking. I might try it again after it's been open a few months, but for now avoid this place. --- EDIT: Given the response from the restaurant here, I will not be giving them another go. read more

Love this place!! We wandered into Buntopia on a week night for a late dinner. Quick service and really wide selection of food. We got sushi, dumplings and a bunburger. Great sushi that's delicious + affordable. The Bunburger options are fantastic too - we got the Shrimpatation and I wanted to order more immediately after finishing. Everything was a good price and you could get quite full for $15. read more

Overall a pretty good experience. Place is small but very cute. They have lots of different options including many vegan sushi and ramen options. We got the "classic" buns and the char siu ramen. Spinach, to me, is a strange component for ramen, but I didn't mind it. Broth could use more flavor, we had to add lots of shoyu and chili powder. read more

Don't understand the positive reviews for this place. Ordered from here today, got the sushi and a BB classic. The sushi is so shy on the fish, I had more crunch than tuna in my spicy tuna roll. The wasabi is watery and the ginger is almost nonexistent. The BB - skip. Pork was dry and just overall underwhelming. read more

Not bad for a quick bite if you're in the area, but it's pretty underwhelming. Food/ The buns were room temperature when they came out and the fatty pork was stringy and somewhat dry. Don't get me wrong, they weren't awful, but I wouldn't call them average either. The ramen was what I'd expect from a deli. Again, not terrible, but my expectations were higher for a restaurant. Ambience/ Buntopia is a mainly self-serve eatery, so you'll order at the counter and grab your cutlery, water, etc from a table at the side. The dining area is clean and quiet with plenty of ambient light. Though they won't wait you, the staff were genial and welcoming. All in all, I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for quality buns (maybe try Baohaus or Ippudo) but it's certainly not the worst deal you'll find. read more

Came here on a hunt for vegan sushi and Buntopia did the job!! The food is fresh, delicious and filling. I had one of the vegan sushi rolls (I forget the name but I believe it had a mango sauce on it. So good!), and a vegan bun. Totally satisfying, I'd absolutely return! Cute ambiance for what may still be considered a takeout spot. The complementary lime water is a plus. read more

Living next door to this place, it seemed foolish not to go in and try out. My girlfriend and I had just been off to do an early morning food shop at the local supermarchét - it was super bowl Sunday, and we were on wings and dip duty, you see. Just as we got back to my place, my girlfriend said "how about a breakfast smoothie?". "Go on then, it is Sunday after all" I replied, throwing caution to the wind. We got ourselves an Acai Smoothie and a Pina Colada smoothie - both were delicious and made with fresh ingredients. So much so, I could hear the tropical waves crashing as the fruit was flung around the blender. Needless to say, we both left as VERY satisfied customers. Buntopia, I will be back. And I will be eating everything you have on the menu. I'll give you at least 48hrs notice so you have time to stock. I adore this restaurant! I don't know how I would've survived the winter without them. The food is delicious and fresh, made with healthy ingredients that make me feel great. I highly recommend the mango roll and green veggie roll if you're vegan or vegetarian. I also really love the almond and date smoothie. Picked up some bun burgers to take home the other day. Great flavor and texture combinations! I especially loved the fried oyster mushrooms. We had 3 burger (pairs) and some tots between two hungry people, and were completely stuffed. Things got a bit soggy in transit, of course, so we're definitely looking forward to getting to try these on the spot one day. read more

I had the jade Dragon Roll. It was a basic roll, nothing to brag about. Maybe because I've had sushi in California I'm used to larger rolls at a cheaper price. Nice atmosphere though! I may come again if I am in the area, but I don't think I'd refer anyone to this spot. read more

Not one to leave bad reviews, but I didn't have the greatest experience with the staff. The place has a nice appeal and presentation but if you want to actually eat there, the staff is not friendly. Came in with a service dog for a nice lunch and couldn't stay. And the staff keep harassing me about it. Ugh... never again! ------------- Your reply alone just proved my point. I didn't comment on the cleanliness of your restaurant, I said your hospitality/customer service is bad which sucks because the food is delightful. As a business owner or anyone working in the service industry, there are certain ways to speak to people to get your point across effectively... "I'm sorry, but our restaurant does not allow for service dogs yet but please feel free to enjoy the backyard area, " would have sufficed... No need to reply I'm sure your response will continue to substantiate my claim. read more

I love this place. Simple, delish, healthy food. Smoothies are a little expensive but everything else is very reasonable. They have no carb noodles option for ramen which is awesome if you are doing a low carb/keto diet. (I do that sometimes and this place becomes my #1 local go to). read more

This place is a gem. The kim chi was sufficiently spicy and amazing. We tried the sweet creek wrap, stuffed with veggies, hard boiled egg and a hint of mint. Sauce on the side a delicious mix of habanero and hoisin. Divine!!! Coconut chai hot tea topped off our chilly afternoon. Staff was a wonderful touch to this unassuming diamond in the rough. I did not realize the ramen did not come with any ingredients besides the chashu meat and some scallions sprinkled on top. So this spot really requires you to customize and add on toppings. Usually other ramen spots already have selection of toppings in each type of bowl. So overall, my ramen was pretty standard and nothing outstanding. I do appreciate that you can add half or full serving of extra noodles for $1-2 if you want more. Also, like others mentioned, Ramen Danbo received a C health code rating. I didn't see this until halfway through my meal, but I probably would not have ate here if I saw it beforehand. Quite appalling for a restaurant that doesn't even have an extensive menu. Overall, the service is okay... I can't say I had any particular issues BUT I just felt like all the servers gave off the vibe that they just hated their jobs or something. It was just the vibe I got but it could just be me.

Everything came out fresh and beautifully presented. Our waiter, Kenny, was attentive, friendly, and checked in on us throughout the meal without being overbearing. One thing you absolutely have to order is the kimchi mushrooms. They were so good that I'm still thinking about them the next day. A manager approached us and informed us that outside food was not permitted, even though purchases had been made. We were then asked to leave and eat outside in the hot weather. I understand that businesses have policies regarding outside food, and I respect the need to enforce them. However, I believe this situation could have been handled with greater compassion and understanding, given that the group consisted of individuals with disabilities who rely on packed lunches due to financial limitations. As someone who has consistently supported your establishment, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility and empathy shown. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will no longer be bringing my business or the individuals I support to your establishment. I hope this feedback encourages your management team to consider a more accommodating approach when serving members of the disability community in the future.

It was so amazing for us to have a spot focus on healthy near our apartment! We visited them at Super bowl Sunday. Both of me and my boyfriend had a cold walking from where we living. They have a nice and clean interior, which garnished with real green pot and synthetic grass carpet. That impressed us pretty well initially. We ordered a spicy ramen (I think which name was Tom Yam Gai maybe?) , unlike some ppl comments below, the strong aroma from Thai flavor and warm Pork bone (tonkusu maybe?) broth surfing around my tongue. We had to admit, their Tom Yam Ramen is a big thumb up in winter. Our another trying is their vegan sushi Flamenco, although we did not know what they put in their spicy vegan puree until so far, but the taste IS SO GREAT even for a vegan food, different with other sushi spot using plain white rice, they use blank rice and little cutie grass (we don't know they name either) which brings more healthy and nice presentation! The bao buns themselves are soft and pillowy, with delicious flavors. Also, they offer vegetarian options for those who don't eat meat. We ordered the bunburger and Charsiu Ramen both were delicious. The chasu (pork belly) were particularly yummy. The smoothies are amazing, nice combination of fruits, herbs and veggies. Not overly sweet and have some unique flavours to them. The food are creative and the ingredients are fresh. Interesting way to fuse asian everyday dishes with Western and Spanish flavours, and they turn out surprisingly good. The deco is chic, simple but elegant. Don't care so much about the music. The food at buntopia was great! A great place for vegetarians and vegans. All of the food we had was great. The only thing we didn't try was the ramen. The servers were so nice and quick for us, and the food came out fresh and hot. The restaurant is also nice and cute, a nice place for a casual vibe. Fantastic spot! I have tried every rice bowl, and while they are all delicious, the sashimi salmon bowl is simply my favorite - bursting with flavor, always fresh ingredients, and large portions that hit the spot. So glad that Buntopia opened up down the block from me. Finally a ramen place for the Flannel set! I could eat their Sashimi Salmon bowl every night of the week -- they make my taste buds quiver. Acai bowls and fresh juices make great breakfast choices. Steel chairs and blonde wood tables provide comfortable atmosphere. Nothing morose about it, folks! read more

I got the sashimi rice bowl and it was super delicious and also very healthy! Love the fragrant sauce it comes with. The big bowls are really pretty too. My friend got the buns, which come out on a cute wooden tray with steel holders. Great spot for a quick meal. Definitely not morose at all! Sushi is solid but not the best. Smoothies are very good. Staff has always been friendly. Atmosphere is again solid but not amazing. Place is always very clean and orderly. You have to bus your own dishes but they never let plates in the tubs overflow. I usually have a good time there but it doesn't resonate too much like the best places do. read more

Hidden gem on Broadway, very unique menu and food was delicious! We ordered the oyster bay buns, green dragon, mango tango, and villa kuta. All very tasty and I can hardly believe they all vegetarian! My favorite one is the green dragon roll, very crunchy and yummy! Love this place and will definitely come back to try other dishes! read more

What a find!! Buntopia is right in my neighborhood, quick, healthy, and absolutely delicious. A great spot for a no hassle and healthy dinner. Also has juices (get at me green juice) and what looks to be great espresso and coffee for the morning. And breakfast! Excited to keep coming back. read more

I have no clue how this place gets this high a rating. I will fully admit that I should have gone into that price point realizing quality would be sacrificed. And if you are trying to feed a family on a budget you could do worse. Because their highest marks come from quantity. I dare anyone to finish a whole bento box in one sitting. There is a lot of food, and for that much at that price, that is commendable. And that is where the praise stops. Everything felt like buffet food that was prepared days before. I wanted to like it, because my wallet did, but everything besides the teriyaki was off or just subpar. Mixed vegetables was just 95% cabbage and one tiny piece of broccoli. The rolls were soggy and off. The fried rice was obviously mass cooked and mushy and just not good. And whatever you do, don't eat the sushi. Worst California roll I've eaten. Tasted like it was three days old. I had to write this because I've been working on a project at home and wanted a lot of food relatively cheap that I could eat for a few meals. Everything felt greasy and old except the teriyaki. That was alright but certainly not good. I ate the teriyaki and threw most of the rest out. I'd give it a 2.5 because of the amount of food, but I wish I'd spent that $28 (after deliver and fees) on a much better meal.
