I'd give Bula Bar & Grille 3 stars. This is the Royal Pacific Hotel's Pool Bar. I recently stayed at the Royal Pacific hotel and we went swimming at night, and decided to grab a couple of drinks. They have a nice collection of beers and cocktails available, but we were very disappointed to learn that this bar closes at 10 PM even though the pool was open until 11 PM - it didn't really make too much sense to us but oh well. Horrible food. The pork sandwich tasted bland as if it was bought from the premade aisle in a low end grocery store. The mahi sandwich was very subpar and lacked flavor. Food ok. Service slow. Good atmosphere. But what really gets me is that they charge $5.00 for a soda and no free refills which was not brought to my attention. So, I asked for a refill and got charged another $5.00 plus tax. So, $6.00 and change for a refill. $40.00 dollars for a subpar burger and a drink, total rip off. read more

We had dinner here on our last night at Royal Pacific. Bula Bar is the pool bar at the property and offers a nice menu and drinks. It's a great atmosphere, during the day, and was pretty darn romantic at night. Check out my pics! We had the Shipwrecked Loaded Nachos with beef and they were gorgeous. Large portion and delicious. Also had the turkey wrap as well as a brew and a Hurricane. Service was quick and friendly as well. An 18% gratuity was added to the bill, so be aware of that. Bula Bar is the pool side bar on the Royal Pacific resort. We went there for a quick appetizer and sat pool side. The ambiance was good and the service was fast. I was surprised by how overpriced things, are, I guess it is a touristy destination but it felt excessive. Also, i was a bit surprised by the 18% mandatory tip, I was ready to sign the usual tip and realized it was already included without being told, I guess it was written somewhere on the menu? In terms of the food, we had the nachos which were on a gigantic plate but the nachos were not great, we ended up leaving about half because it was not really worth the calories. read more

Surprisingly good! Maybe we were all nust super hungry after our flight feom Boston to Orlando but everyone finished their plates. I did not have high expectations for this poolside spot. I figured it would be salty and over sweet and not satisfying at all. I was pleasantly surprised. The Chicken Quesadilla appetizer was pretty good. My Pork Tacos were really good. My wife liked her Turkey Wrap, my son enjoyed his Black Bean Quesadilla, and my daughter said her pizza was awesome. I did not set the bar high going in but this place cleared it easily. We will probably eat here again before the vacation is over. UPDATE - 2nd day here and another lunch by the pool. This time we had Chicken Nachos, kids Hot Dog, and another kids Pizza. Ok, so this is the Bar & Grill at our hotel. We love this hotel / bar. We can order at our lounge chair by the pool or from the hot tub. The specialty drinks came in either a 15 oz ($15/ $10 refill) or 45 oz ($35/$30 refill) glass. I had the "Witch Doctor" and Amy "Dirty Banana's" The drinks are delicious but a bit on the weak side. To remedy this, the bartender advised that we could order a seperate shot to add to our giant drinks.. We had great experience our 2nd day but poor service the night before... Our server Daniel was excellent, he kept our drinks topped off and food coming. My son, Cole had a grilled cheese and we had the guacamole/ pico and chips. The nachos looked awesome but we didn't order them.. Chips were stale on one order..but they were quickly replaced.. This is great place to get drinks and appetizers while lounging by pool in hot tub.. This hotel prides itself on service, so if you are not getting any, let a manager know.. I ordered the nachos that were delicious. The size is shareable for 3-4 people, but perfect for one, if starving. The fish tacos were amazing!!! Fresh grilled fish and a sweet dressing for the top. We found ourselves here at the end of the night just wanting a little snack. I deducted a star because their taps were all out and husband wanted a beer... not sure how that happens but I guess they had some thirsty pool goers. Bula is the poolside bar/restaurant at the Loews Royal Pacific Resort. When you order your first drink it comes in a plastic souvenir hurricane glass, which they'll refill for $10. For our 2 refill beverages, with included 18% service charge and tax, that came to more than $25 in total. Yes, a bit steep, but considering you're at a resort at a theme park, such is life. What I do have a real problem with, however, is paying $25 for 2 drinks, a pina colada and a strawberry daiquiri, neither of which had much taste or alcohol content. Both tasted mostly like crushed ice with a touch of flavoring and an undetectable amount of booze. I've patronized plenty of restaurants/bars that use the same "Island Oasis" machines that Bula uses to make their frozen drinks.. The beverages they turn out can be much better than what we were given by 2 different bartenders here. read more

Really good fish tacos for a pool bar. They didn't put the dressing on which was a great idea because it wasn't too messy and drenched in sauce. It was also a pretty good portion. I also got a white peach sangria and it was huge and tasted great. read more

For an easy access poolside bar at a hotel no less, this is awesome. Prices are pretty reasonable considering, service is chill, atmosphere is obviously casual and it's mostly outside seating. Warning: they will include an 18% tip in your check regardless of party size. Fish tacos: plenty of fish, grilled and great sauce. Doesn't come with a side, but the tacos is enough to make a meal. Everything was fresh and crispy, would order again. Bahn mi tacos and tostada also looked really great. Everything was fresh and tasty, either of those are worth ordering. We will be back. read more

Bula Bar & Grille was a nice spot to grab a bite to eat if you are just hanging by the pool. The drinks were really good and not too sweet. If you get a souvenir cup for $14, the rest of your drinks are $10. I was with a party of three and we split the tacos and quesadillas and it was a perfect afternoon snack. The tacos were bursting with flavor. They put the dressing on the side, which was a nice touch. The quesadillas were warm and cheesy aka delicious! I would recommend stopping over at Bula Bar & Grille during your stay at the Royal Pacific when you are chilling at the pool. read more

Meh. The best part about this restaurant is that it's convienently located right next to the Royal Pacific pool. The alcoholic drinks are ridiculously pricey the first time ($15+ but $10 if you bring your cup back next time) I had a non-alcoholic frozen lemonade and when I saw them making that and their "smoothies" I realized it was just ice and Island Oasis drink mix (how Dunkin Donuts makes their fruit Coolatas) I actually expected a real smoothie until I tasted a sample they passed around. My salad was okay, but definitely not what I was expecting. I expected other vegetables other than romaine lettuce because the menu said it included snow peas, daikon, carrots, citrus segments, and cucumbers. What I got was probably 3 snow peas shredded into smaller pieces and 3 cups of lettuce. Done. The wontons were good but the chicken tasted like fake chicken, the texture was odd. I think they probably do what my college dining hall used to do (the texture was similar) - cook it ahead of time and leave it in a special drawer in the grill or maybe even in the fridge until it's ordered. Then they probably just sear it on the grill to warm it. I didn't complain because I wasn't feeling well and didn't feel like waiting for another dish. I'm not sure about the other dishes, the nachos looked good. As a positive, it is really nice that they walk around to give you service right at your beach chair. If you catch them at a not busy time then it's pretty fast. read more

Great food, wonderful atmosphere, excellent service. If you order an adult beverage in a soverneer glass $14.50, your future drinks will be $10. So, if you are having more than one, go for the soverneer glass. Your server will explain this to you. You have to order the Nachos. They are enormous and a steel for $15. You can choose chicken (grilled chunks), ground beef, or half and half. The kids hot dog meal was $8 and was in our book overpriced, basic hot dog and fries. The servers were great. We enjoyed watching the kids swim, while life guards carefully watched over them. Great place for the adults to relax after a long day in the parks. read more

He was not keeping his cool at all and that was making me anxious. Our app came out after our food and this when we paid $15 each for drinks. Extremely overpriced and barely any alcohol. The food wasn't bad for what it was. We had the Korean BBQ steak wraps - kids had hotdogs and fruit. The spinach and artichoke empanadas were good, but small. We came for my Bday weekend and I am kicking myself for not doing more research. During my stay at Royal Pacific, we were always hangin out at the pool cos my son loves to swim. Bula was right where the pool was offering small bites and amazing drinks. They also offer poolside service where they take ur order and deliver right to ur chair. We definitely utilized this alot since we couldnt take our eyes off our active son. I lovelovelove their maui strawberry drink (i totally dont kno the name of it but thas what i called it!). It taste like a strawberry cheesecake. Soso good. My son also enjoyed their virgin strawberry colada, and my bf enjoyed their margaritas. Cynthia was our server for 2 days straight and she was the absolute bestest. I also had another girl who served me 2 other days but i forgot to get her name. They were both wonderful and so nice!!! Their fish tacos and the ahi tuna are my favorite! read more

We just had dinner here tonight. We had to sit ourselves which was ok because it is a casual setting but it took over 20 minutes for a server to come to the table and only because I actually got up to try to find someone to assist us. They did not clean the table or re-set it until I asked for it. It was odd because there were probably only 4 tables no they were definitely not busy. I had the quesadilla which was ok and my kids had burgers which they really enjoyed. Overall the food was ok but the service was so bad I have to give it 2 stars read more

I waited at a chair and asked to order a drink and was told it wasn't her section (though she was helping the people literally right next to me) and said she would send someone over. 25 minutes later I gave up and went to the bar. I waited at the bar for 15 minutes without being acknowledged. I then went to a table where I finally got service. The table next to me had the same situation where they asked for something and 25 minutes later we hadn't seen the server. The two stars are really for location, the service gets zero. read more

This was the best value of the places we tried during nearly a week at Royal Pacific. The salads, burger, chicken tenders and quesadilla were all excellent for the price--the kids' drinks were imaginative and a good value (the Eddie Royale was a big hit). We don't drink alcohol so I'm not an expert but those drinks appeared to be priced fairly high....drinkers might want to talk to their servers about other options: I heard one server helpfully explaining that you can get the drinks without the overpriced "souvenir" cup, which would make them a better value, imo. But again, I only had nonalcoholic drinks (all great) and the basic pub-style food was surprisingly good for the price. (For the worst restaurant at Royal Pacific, see my review of Emeril's Tchoup Chop, which should be Tchouped into little pieces and fed to passing sharks). Bula Grill is recommended. read more
