    Turkey Wrap

We had dinner here on our last night at Royal Pacific. Bula Bar is the pool bar at the property and offers a nice menu and drinks. It's a great atmosphere, during the day, and was pretty darn romantic at night. Check out my pics! We had the Shipwrecked Loaded Nachos with beef and they were gorgeous. Large portion and delicious. Also had the turkey wrap as well as a brew and a Hurricane. Service was quick and friendly as well. An 18% gratuity was added to the bill, so be aware of that. It was a wonderful way to spend our last night in Orlando.

Bula Bar is the pool side bar on the Royal Pacific resort. We went there for a quick appetizer and sat pool side. The ambiance was good and the service was fast. I was surprised by how overpriced things, are, I guess it is a touristy destination but it felt excessive. Also, i was a bit surprised by the 18% mandatory tip, I was ready to sign the usual tip and realized it was already included without being told, I guess it was written somewhere on the menu? In terms of the food, we had the nachos which were on a gigantic plate but the nachos were not great, we ended up leaving about half because it was not really worth the calories.

Surprisingly good! Maybe we were all nust super hungry after our flight feom Boston to Orlando but everyone finished their plates. I did not have high expectations for this poolside spot. I figured it would be salty and over sweet and not satisfying at all. I was pleasantly surprised. The Chicken Quesadilla appetizer was pretty good. My Pork Tacos were really good. My wife liked her Turkey Wrap, my son enjoyed his Black Bean Quesadilla, and my daughter said her pizza was awesome. I did not set the bar high going in but this place cleared it easily. We will probably eat here again before the vacation is over. UPDATE - 2nd day here and another lunch by the pool. This time we had Chicken Nachos, kids Hot Dog, and another kids Pizza. Everything tasted good again. Expensive but tasty and convenient.

Ok, so this is the Bar & Grill at our hotel. We love this hotel / bar. We can order at our lounge chair by the pool or from the hot tub. The specialty drinks came in either a 15 oz ($15/ $10 refill) or 45 oz ($35/$30 refill) glass. I had the "Witch Doctor" and Amy "Dirty Banana's" The drinks are delicious but a bit on the weak side. To remedy this, the bartender advised that we could order a seperate shot to add to our giant drinks.. We had great experience our 2nd day but poor service the night before... Our server Daniel was excellent, he kept our drinks topped off and food coming. My son, Cole had a grilled cheese and we had the guacamole/ pico and chips. The nachos looked awesome but we didn't order them.. Chips were stale on one order..but they were quickly replaced.. This is great place to get drinks and appetizers while lounging by pool in hot tub.. This hotel prides itself on service, so if you are not getting any, let a manager know.. Fish tacos - great
    Melissa P.

Really good fish tacos for a pool bar. They didn't put the dressing on which was a great idea because it wasn't too messy and drenched in sauce. It was also a pretty good portion. I also got a white peach sangria and it was huge and tasted great.

For an easy access poolside bar at a hotel no less, this is awesome. Prices are pretty reasonable considering, service is chill, atmosphere is obviously casual and it's mostly outside seating. Warning: they will include an 18% tip in your check regardless of party size. Fish tacos: plenty of fish, grilled and great sauce. Doesn't come with a side, but the tacos is enough to make a meal. Everything was fresh and crispy, would order again. Bahn mi tacos and tostada also looked really great. Everything was fresh and tasty, either of those are worth ordering. We will be back.

Bula Bar & Grille was a nice spot to grab a bite to eat if you are just hanging by the pool. The drinks were really good and not too sweet. If you get a souvenir cup for $14, the rest of your drinks are $10. I was with a party of three and we split the tacos and quesadillas and it was a perfect afternoon snack. The tacos were bursting with flavor. They put the dressing on the side, which was a nice touch. The quesadillas were warm and cheesy aka delicious! I would recommend stopping over at Bula Bar & Grille during your stay at the Royal Pacific when you are chilling at the pool.

Next to the pool at the resort...70 degrees & lovin it

I checked in when I arrived, and was told I could sit anywhere in the bar for faster service. I first sat in the show kitchen area, thinking that was a food bar. However, after not getting acknowledged, I moved to the main bar. My bartender (who goes by the letter H) greeted me and told me the tequila fix (13 dollars) was a good drink. Indeed it was with an ample amount of tequila, watermelon, and lime. It was quite refreshing and sweet. I took the popular pork chop dish (24 dollars), which was a big chop glazed in brown butter. It was pretty tender and flavorful with the glaze, and the romesco sauce made the flavors even better. It did get a bit gamey at the end, but I still enjoyed it. The vegetable was a generous amount of various colored carrots, which were thick and a bit crunchy. It had to be cut with a knife, but it was delicious, that the equestrian in me had a happy whinny. For dessert, the suggested cheesecake (9 dollars) was a winner as it was moist and fluffy, providing a sweet end. I saved some for home to enjoy the next day. My bartender was friendly and helpful. She was pretty busy, but still had a cheerful and engaging attitude. I also love the vibe as it was social and busy. The music kept the rhythm going, and the dining area is quite open and big. Outdoor dining is available as well. Sixty Vines reminds me of Cooper Hawks, but maybe a bit more upscale and lively. The food and drinks are great and the prices are pretty reasonable. It's a great place to hang out with friends and have some food, wine, and other cocktails. Overall: A

From the beginning, our waiter seemed visibly annoyed with us. Each drink we ordered felt like an inconvenience to him, and it was consistently difficult to get his attention. We actually would have ordered more drinks, but he rarely came back to check on us and never offered refills. His overall disinterest made it uncomfortable to even try to flag him down. It was awkward because we literally watched him sit and chat with fellow employees at the bar. Our food also took quite a while to arrive and, when it did, it was only room temperature. We were even missing an item from our order. When we mentioned it, there was no apology -- we were simply told it would be removed from the bill. Our waiter was literally mid "walk-away" while telling us this-- we were looking at his back trying to hear what he was saying. It was beyond rude. It's disappointing because the ambience had so much potential, but the overall experience left us feeling unwelcome and underwhelmed.

Let's focus on the positives first: the atmosphere is incredibly fun and the live music Saturday night was a perfect touch at the bar. There were plenty of fun activities for the kids and there was an all-you-can-eat buffet for the kids with fried chicken and shrimp, macaroni and cheese, fries, and red velvet cupcakes. $25 is a deal if your child would chow down on shrimp, but it might not be a great deal if your child is usually full after four bites. Our server was absolutely fantastic, friendly and very attentive. We started off the dinner with some fantastic deviled eggs and a lemon cello cocktail. I ordered the shrimp and grits and was really disappointed with the tiny, overcooked shrimp and crawfish that accompanied the slightly bland grits. The shrimp on the kids buffet was at least four times larger than the sad little shrimp in my dish. I think the sausage was cut into smaller chunks just so it wouldn't be so obvious how small the shrimp was. My husband didn't love his heirloom tomato salad and said the Wagyu appetizer was disgusting. Dessert was mediocre. The macarons that accompanied my crème brûlée were stale and chewy. This is a fun spot for a drink and appetizer, but I would skip eating dinner at Highball & Harvest.

Southern comfort food as a general rule just doesn't sit well with me anymore and I'm going to be very transparent and bare my soul a little bit here but here goes . . . Ever since being on GLP1's, I've developed a really complicated relationship with comfort food. Foods that are rich, buttery, creamy or fatty now hit me completely differently than they used to. It's almost like my body immediately goes into shutdown mode afterwards. I feel heavy, exhausted and like I've instantly ballooned even if the portions themselves aren't massive. For the longest time I honestly thought it was simply the richness of the food itself but now I realize it's because my digestion just can't process heavier comfort foods the same way anymore. Suddenly... it all makes sense. The food itself here is VERY good. Properly seasoned, well prepared, beautifully presented... absolutely no complaints there whatsoever. I simply have to become more mindful and strategic now with my menu selections no matter WHERE I dine. I chose the Creekstone Farm's NY Strip with the fabulous bone marrow which I KNOW is supposed to be incredibly nutrient rich and good for you... but honestly... it just about put me under afterwards. This dinner happened thanks to Ronnald M. and his sister Teris and it was our pre-opera dinner outing before seeing the fabulous Merry Widow at the Dr. Phillips Center. The Monroe is honestly a very good pre-concert restaurant choice because of both the atmosphere and location... I'm just personally learning that this new GLP1 reality means I can't approach menus the way I used to anymore.
