I had a great experience buying a car at the Buggy Bank. This review is not about the deal I made with the seller - that was not handled by the guys at Buggy Bank. The review is about the excellent service they provide managing test drives, providing information and handling the paperwork for the sale. It was simple, fast, no problem! read more

Great business model - $410 to the Buggy Bank and then the everything else is your profit. Great if you're like me and have no idea how to go about selling a car on your own. One thing I will say is that I think the place could benefit with a few more people working the phones. Customer service was pretty abrupt, and you're made to feel like you're hassling them if you call in. read more

These guys are great! I've sold 4 cars at the Buggy Bank and have never had a bad experience. It's worth every penny. read more

I really like the business model here and Jerry is a good guy! There are a lot of gems that can be found and I love window shopping here.

Buggy Bank is A FANTASTIC SERVICE!!! Jerry and LeRoi were terrific to work with and did everything in their power to facilitate a sale. I left my car with them when I moved to New York and had to do everything by phone. They could not have been more helpful. I HIGHLY recommend Buggy Bank and please give my warmest regards to Jerry and LeRoi!! read more

We put our car on the lot at Buggy Bank 10:00 this morning.. It was sold by noon. BUT the thing that makes Buggy Bank so amazing is the service. And the commitment of Jerry and Angelo (who I think was being trained today) to making a transaction smooth and successful. Selling a car can be a stressful endeavor -- and they made it really easy. Jerry is a service provider of the highest caliber, and I'm certain his training will help put Angelo into the same category. I hated letting go of that car, but they made it easier. read more

Working with B. Bank was awesome. The team of LeRoi and Jamie was great, they were very knowledgeable and customer centric. My car sold in less than 3 weeks. I called every few days to check the status of my vehicle and they were very attentive. In the end I received a great price for my car and it was one of the most effortless transactions I have ever made. I will never, ever sell a car on Craigslist again. Buggy Bank is the ONLY way to go whether you are buying or selling a car. read more

The only way to sell a car without having to deal with morons never coming over or if they'll come back after the test drive. Just let Buggy Bank deal with it. read more

Saw car on craigslist, call them to see if available. Got rhere for test drive & when we returned they tell me car has been sold. Recommendation communication need to be better between dealer & owners. First experience & not good read more

Jerry was great, he handle all advertising and paperwork. I was able to sell my car less than 3 weeks.

Sold my BMW in 3 weeks after trying on my own for 3 months. You'll make it if you drop the price to the kbb exact condition. Their fee is a little higher than expected and you'll have to pay additional for all the detailing, but gets the job done and takes the hassle away. Great job buggy bank! read more

Visited Buggy Bank to see a car yesterday, and was please to find the people there very straight up to work with. The car I was looking at has not passed smog yet, so they warned that they won't sell it until they've verified that call cars can. The place only handles showing the cars, so they'll let you negotiate directly with the owner (they'll give you contact info), which makes them somewhat of a neutral party. They'll tell you what they know, and always advises you to make arrangement for a mechanic to check out a car before buying. read more

I just had an amazing car selling experience with Buggy Bank! On Saturday I dropped off my Civic and filled out all of the sellers paperwork. It was hopping, but Jerry was taking care of everyone. It was detailed on Sunday, someone drove it on Monday and wanted to buy it, and we finished the transaction on Wednesday. I didn't even need to post the Craigslist ad! I would never hesitate to sell a car here in the future. What a gem! read more

I was recommended to Buggy Bank to help sell my car. The service I received was spectacular. Jerry, the General Manager, patiently took the time to answer all my questions - even answering the ones that he knew would follow. Fifteen minutes after walking into the office, my vehicle was "For Sale" in the lot. NOTE: Read about required documentation on their website so you will be prepared. If you have any questions email the Buggy Bank through their website. My email inquiry was answered within an hour. Thank you to Jerry and Paul - Excellent Service read more

Ahhh, the joys of letting someone else do the messy stuff while I just answer the phone when a sincere buyer is interested. I have sold two cars thru the Buggy Bank and both have been excellent experiences. Here's the kicker: both times they advised me to ask a higher price than I originally had planned. The cars sold in days for asking so the $410 fee was more than covered. In addition, they know how to navigate DMV issues with ease. I found them courteous and competent . Go in knowing their hours of operation. They're closed on Tuesdays. Personally, I wish they'd expand their hours and stay open 7 days. read more

Just sold my car through Buggy Bank - incredibly easy and quick - I took my car in on a Saturday and they gave me advice on how to describe and price it - by Monday it was sold - they even stayed open a few minutes late to allow me to close the transaction as I had forgotten to bring all the paperwork to the final exchange - great service all around. read more

I live close to Buggy Bank. I visit the lot on average once every two weeks. Over the last 20 years, I bought a total of six cars from the lot. I have never had any issues with the folks who run the place or the cars I bought from the yard. If you are looking for a used vehicle, I would recommend you check this place out. The best time is the weekends - that is when the lot is usually full with inventory. A word of advice: When you see a vehicle you like, call the owner immediately to learn more or make inquiries. From experience, really good deals have a very short shelf life. read more

Great business model and well-run. Sold my car there last week and will sell my next car there as well. If you want to sell your car and don't want the hassle of showing it this is a great option. They charge a flat fee to show your car so they have no interest in pressuring anyone, they control access to your car, they are very clear to both buyers and sellers as to what is necessary to get the deal done, and they will help with all the steps in selling -- getting it detailed and washed, putting an ad online, signing the paperwork etc. So they are providing a real service for what they charge the seller. I was going to sell my car myself as the prices the dealers offer just aren't worth it. But after I took four calls in the same night from one flaky prospective buyer the Buggy Bank looked like a preferable option. I sold my car there in under a week and the next time I sell I will take it there as well. read more

Wow, just got my car detailed here. They did an AMAZING job! Looks brand new...and this is a car that had done some living.

Just sold my Mercedes in less than one day after it was posted on Craig's List through Buggy Bank. They are extremely helpful in selling cars and I couldn't be more pleased. I worked mostly with Jerry, the Operations Manager. He explained things well and did exactly what was promised. He is a nice person and a strong advisor of the process. They do all the paperwork and it is a safe place for a business transaction. When I left my car, there were 3 others doing the same. This place is popular which confirms using Buggy Bank to sell or buy your next car. read more

I found Jerry to be incredibly helpful and ALWAYS friendly when I would come in to Test Drive A car I was interested in purchasing.....In fact, I will miss seeing him, because the car I came in to take for a test drive many times, I PURCHASED. Took my "buggy" in the other day and felt like I was taken care of. Soooo much easier and less headache than doing it yourself. Craigs list? People coming to your home? Yikes! I would use them again. read more

This place is a lifesaver if you truly want to sell your car. I had mine listed on several enthusiast Web sites as well as Craigslist for over a month and only received two e-mails from people who wanted more photos -- people, I might add, who lived thousands of miles away. Within three days of listing at Buggy Bank, my car sold for my asking price. The staff is very professional and helpful and they make you feel at ease during the deal -- which is really important. In addition, the fee is reasonable considering you do not have to worry about your vehicle until someone wants to buy. The location is fantastic in terms of visibility, foot traffic, etc. You can almost see every car for sale from the street. read more

Buggy Bank helped me complete the sale of my 2 cars easy. They are essentialy mediators. They are successful because of their no BS even handed interchange with both sides of the sale. Both cars were sold in 2 weeks at prices I was pleased with. The cars get alot more exposure to buyers because they have much better access and no one is trying to up sell them. They don't miss a detail in the process. DMV, Insurance, Smog etc. A positive experience, good people. read more

Car Buyers Perspective - We came here at the suggestion of a couple of friends to find a car for our daughter. We walked the lot, found a VW Cabrio that appeared to be in good shape. We checked out the keys from the office and crawled all over the car. It was priced fairly, and the office printed out an information sheet for us. We left for a coffee to talk it over, and so I could run a full VIN check with AutoCheck as well. Everything checked out, so we returned to the lot to take a test drive, at which point we decided to pursue a purchase. Buggy Bank gave us the contact info for the seller, and I called and got a full history of the vehicle. We set up a mechanic inspection, and after getting a great report, we made our offer to the seller, and we settled everything over the phone. We met the next day at Buggy Bank who supervised the transaction, verified everyones identities and provided all the necessary DMV paperwork. In about 10 minutes, the easiest used vehicle purchase I have ever made was completed. As a buyer, it was very pleasant knowing that the whole transaction was supervised to keep it all above board. read more

I had SUCH a positive experience buying a car here. (The recent one star reviews of offensive behavior from the staff are obviously plants by competitors or crazy people, ignore them.) I had been trying to buy a car for several weeks, reading reviews, visiting dealers and combing craigslist. As a woman shopping by herself, the idea of the Buggy Bank made me feel more comfortable than going to some stranger's place to look at a car, but there was none of the sales pressure you'd get at a dealer. It was great to get to look at and test drive a variety of cars at my leisure. Dana and Jerry were incredibly friendly, patient with my questions, and professional with handling everything. They gave me lots of great advice to make the process smoother, were honest about the condition of the car as they saw it, helped me handle the paperwork and get me set up with everything I needed for the transfer of title from the seller. They even handled the smogging. I came in on a Thursday and by Saturday I drove away with my very own Honda Fit! Save yourself some headache and time and shop from these guys. One tip - if there is a particular car on the "lot list" that you are interested in, you might try calling in and make sure it's available. Well-priced popular cars like mine can go really fast, and if I hadn't gotten the ball rolling on it quickly someone else might have snapped it up. read more

I bought my car here and sold it again, when I left the country. It's very convenient, because they handle all the paperwork. Check the website of the DMV, if you want to handle it yourself. As a buyer, you don't have to pay anything extra. If you want to sell a car, you pay something for putting it on display. You'll find all the information on their very helpful website. I had around three serious offers within 10 days. Jerry, who works there, does a great job. He also gives valuable advice, even though in the end it's your choice, of course. Test drives until 5 pm only. Closed on Tuesdays. Highly recommended. read more

We have had the greatest experience selling two cars at Buggy Bank. It was astonishing really. Our first car sold in 3 days and our 2nd was sold in 24 hours. It was painless. We got a phone call from a potential buyer, answered their questions and then the deal was made. The people at BB held our hands along the way. They helped figure out a price that made us happy and obviously appealed to buyers. No one came to our house, or even knew who we were, until we met at the sale. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Buggy Bank to anyone who wants to sell their car. read more

Seller review: The Buggy Bank is quite a nice way to sell a car. I am not the guy to sift through craigslist reply's from nigeria-based, fake buyers, or to decide whether a potential test drive is really a prelude to an unreasonable offer. I haven't got the time. But before you accept the typical low ball offer on a trade in at the dealer you should really consider this service. First of all they have a lot in a highly trafficked part of Berkeley, They vet the customer a bit, They take care of the test drive, Then... they work through the transfer of title and the smog check (which you are responsible for as the seller, who knew?). Well I wanted the sale to be clean and legal, but I would have spent at least three hours online figuring out how to follow all of the rules to execute a proper transfer in CA (didn't help my title was from out of state). These guys are fair and knowledgeable. The time saved in paperwork alone was worth the fee. I am also convinced it was the detailing of the car (extra fee) that made it sell in about 7 hours on the lot. I was also about 300 under blue book, in the interest of full disclosure. read more

I basically sold my car in ONE DAY here. I brought it in on a Friday afternoon and received a call on Saturday at noon. I received 5-6 calls altogether so they clearly get great traffic. Jerry was kind and helpful throughout the entire process. I highly recommend detailing your car yourself to save some money. If you want a super easy way to sell your car without strangers coming to your house and taking a chance on them test driving it, this is definitely the way to go. I will definitely use them again! Thanks Jerry! read more

Tried for a month on craigslist without selling, and then these guys sold my car in 1.5 weeks. All I had to do was answer a few calls from people bidding on the price, and then go collect the money. Worth every penny. read more

Shout out to the guys at the Buggy Bank for being great and fair businessmen. They helped me sell a classic car, which normally isn't there clientele, but they went beyond the terms of their agreement to help me out and get the vehicle sold. Basically, I put it on their lot at probably too high an asking price, when it didn't sell I took it back home for a while and returned later perhaps more realistic on what I could get The worked with me on it instead of taking advantage as they had every right to charge me all over again. They basically did what was the right thing and we sold in 10 days time. Hats off to a business that runs itself with integrity. read more

This is the civilized way to buy or sell a car. Jerry and the Buggy Bank staff are genial, patient souls. That they retain ready humor and warm smiles when dealing with the general public, allowing them to test drive the cars and return them within 20 minutes, says oceans for their professionalism, willingness to trust, refusal to be cynical, which many others might become in such situation, day after day. You get the impression that Buggy Bank in kind attracts decent, honorable sellers and buyers. Call it good car-ma, whatever you want. While Jerry and company are there strictly to bring buyers and sellers together, and not sell, push, promote any of the buggies in the bank, I did overhear Jerry giving a caller sage, sound, general car-buying advice worthy of Click and the late Clack. By the way, Buggy Bank's inventory ranges from basic transportation to nice luxe and sporting barouches. Two thumbs way up. read more

Buggy Bank is the best buggy boutique in the Bay--bar none. Gerry and his crew are personable, efficient, helpful, knowledgeable and go out of their way to help you sell your car. As a female selling my car, it was nice to give them the keys and let them handle test drivers (i.e. no Craigslist weirdos). Many businesses purport to be "turn-key" but they really are --pun intended!! If you are considering selling, or buying, with Buggy Bank, do not hesitate. I am a very satisfied customer. read more

I stumbled across this place and brought one car to sell. I had tried to sell it for over a year and all I got was guys that wanted to trade, wanted me to carry the loan or low-balling tire kickers. I took it to BB and sold it within 72 hours at a price that was much more than I expected. I took a second vehicle and it sold as well. I am taking a third one. I am a believer read more

The BuggyBank is absolutely the most fabulous way to sell a car. The individuals (Jerry and Dana) associated with this lot are professionals, supportive and extremely helpful. They charge, a more than reasonable flat fee, of $450.00 for all they do, which include DMV paperwork, etc. In addition they guide you through the entire process and make it seem effortless and easy, which is exactly how it went. Jerry is the MAN. He feels like a family member, who has your best interest in mind. He not only establish a price, which caused lots of interest in my car; he guided me through the negotiation. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have received an extra $1000 for my vehicle. The vehicle was sold in 2 days. I will continue to utilize the BuggyBank's service for any vehicle I'm trying to sell. They are better than any dealership I've dealt with and they sold my car at PRIVATE PARTY PRICE, and like could have sold it for more. I was pleased with the offered and sold. They are the very best in the Bay Area!!!! No hassles, no people coming to my house for a test drive, nothing!! The word easy doesn't actually describe the process, it's beyond easy. Let me say, "It was free of pain, let's me call the Buggy Bank, The Easy Masters, they've mastered the art of easy" I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who's attempting to sell a vehicle, and I mean anybody!!!! read more

the buggy bank takes a lot of the pain out of selling your older car. i was pretty sure no one would want my late 90s chevy sedan, but instead it sold after only a week at the buggy bank! jerry is FANTASTIC! he helped me price my vehicle reasonably and then facilitated the paperwork for the sale. i would absolutely recommend the buggy bank for those trying to sell a car without the hassle of craigslist. read more

Sold my 2005 Toyota pickup in 1 day. Stopped by one morning to ask how the selling process works. Jerry suggested that I clean up the vehicle (or get it cleaned up) inside and out to look as good as possible, which I did. Brought it back at 9 the next morning and was out by 9:30 with the completed paperwork for listing the vehicle. Got a call around 2 hours later with an offer for the full listing price. It was all over - the whole transaction - by 9:30 the next day: about 24 hours in all. For me, the fee was definitely worth it considering the whole picture.
