I recently leased my very first EV (and BMW) with Weatherford and I am so glad I decided to partner with their dealership for my next vehicle. The entire process from start to finish in obtaining my new car went very smoothly thanks to Raoul Rautenbach. PLEASE GET YOURSELF AN INDEPENDENT BMW MECHANIC. I decided to wait before writing this review to make sure my car continued running properly after the service. I brought my BMW in on February 4, 2026, for the starter replacement recall. The next day, I received a text message confirming that the service was completed and that there was no charge (covered under the recall). However (the upsell), I was also informed that my two rear tires needed to be replaced for $738.79 and that a wheel alignment was recommended for $375.90. I declined both services because my car is in excellent condition and I rarely drive it. I decided to get a second opinion and scheduled an inspection with my trusted BMW mechanic. After examining the vehicle, my mechanic confirmed that the tires were in excellent condition and advised me not to replace them. This event wasted me three days of running my car for inspection. My advice to anyone who owns a luxury vehicle is to have a trusted independent mechanic. Dealerships are valuable for warranty work and recalls, but you should always have someone you trust who can provide an honest assessment. Unfortunately, situations like this contribute to the reputation that BMWs are always breaking down or constantly needing expensive repairs. In many cases, dealership service experiences are part of why these stories spread online. After this experience, I no longer feel confident relying on dealership service departments for anything beyond warranty-related work. Even for Check engine lights or tire repair work, a mechanic will do these repairs for much less than the dealerships. read more

Quite simply the worst experience I've ever had a dealership, or any other repair shop. It was so bad I had my car towed to another BMW dealer. I go to the dealer expecting high prices, but this was a whole new level. Ask yourself what it would take before you towed your car to a different dealer. I've lost enough of my life dealing with this situation that I don't care to recount every detail here, but let me give some specific examples. I'll start with the smaller stuff because they feel trite next to the price gouging. I called in advance to check the labor cost for replacing all four tires. When I dropped the car off, I was quoted a higher amount. I complained, and the price was reduced after minor back and forth. Annoying, but not a huge deal. A more annoying but still not-a-huge-deal experience was when I was told the car was done and that I could pick it up. I gave a time range for picking up later that day, and I was three blocks away in an Uber when they called to say that the car would not start. Additionally, because the car did not run, they had been unable to complete the alignment (that I was told had already been finished). They could not provide any other details because "the mechanic was out." What followed were criminal attempts to over-price repairs and a refusal to provide any meaningful support for why the quotes were so high. I was quoted $8k for 15 to 16 hours of labor to drop the HV battery for inspection. At the posted hourly rate, that should've been less than $5,500. The other BMW dealer, just 15 miles away, quoted less than $5,000. What's even worse than that was when they quoted me $5,100 to replace a camber arm and eccentric bolt. My camber was off by just 0.1deg. Regardless, setting aside any arguments that the camber was fine (per more generous operating specifications not dealer-dictated alignment criteria), that's $5k for a part that probably costs a few hundred dollars and takes just a few hours of labor to install. The next dealership quoted LESS THAN HALF that amount. Why is a dealership trying to charge me 80% to 100% more than another dealership just 15 miles away? Did I mention both dealerships have the same parent company? Hopefully that makes it obvious that this isn't just another case of someone being shocked at how expensive dealers are. And I'm leaving out all the poor communication and insistence on only texting me despite repeated requests to call me. Not sure if it's the service person I dealt with or the management at Weatherford, but I don't know why anyone would go there after reading this. It's pretty much any car owner's nightmare... Handing your car to someone that is going to exploit their leverage to extract as much money from you as possible without any concern for explaining themselves. read more

tldr; Stay far far away from the service department and I urge you to stay away from BMW. Their cars will leak fluids constantly, and they will easily cost double with all the maintenance repairs needed. I've been going here for over 15 years and the Service department has really changed. Service at the dealership is always more expensive, but it was a better experience. Not any longer. Over the years, they have gotten rid of topping off fluids for free. They only cover a Lyft one way. They now charge a 3% credit card fee. They have tried to scam me twice on so called "service promotions". They NEVER apologize when it's clear they were in the wrong. They are constantly wasting my valuable time when I take my car in. This isn't a luxury experience any more. It's nickel and dime-ing and blatant efforts to scam the customer in desperate attempts at a money grab. At eighty-five miles per hour on the flats past the Grapevine, somewhere in the featureless stretch of the 5 between the mountains and... Northern California, there is a clunk. A godalmighty clunk, the sound of something metal separating from something it is supposed to be permanently attached to, and you feel it through the floor and the pedals and the steering column before your brain has any language for what just happened. Then the grinding starts -- the caliper dragging against the wheel rim and the rotor, wedging itself clear on the other side of the rotor from where it should be, mangling everything it touches -- and for a moment inertia keeps the wheel turning, the car still moving forward at highway speed on momentum and nothing else. Then the wheel seizes and the tire starts skidding and the steering jerks hard toward the side that is no longer wants to roll freely, and you are now piloting a machine that wants to spin or flip in amongst cars and large SUVs and 18 wheelers doing eighty-five miles per hour on Interstate 5. You do not touch the brakes. You understand, in a part of your brain that is operating faster and more clearly than it has ever operated, that hitting the brakes in a vehicle essentially running on 3 wheels (but designed for four) may spin you or flip you, and so you hold the wheel and give minute steering input towards the shoulder and you ride it out and slow down on friction and prayer and whatever else is available to you at that moment. We had JUST descended the Grapevine in windy, torrential can't-see-more-than-a-car's-distance, sideways rain -- one of the more harrowing regular drives in California under the best of circumstances, a six-percent grade with trucks and speed differentials and the particular white-knuckle focus that wet pavement and wind and bad visibility on a mountain pass demands. The brakes held on the way down. God knows what would have happened if they hadn't. The shop that rescued us in Bakersfield diagnosed the failure as improper installation during a front brake job at Weatherford BMW in Berkeley. The bolts holding the front brake caliper -- bolts that were supposed to have been properly torqued -- fell out. Not loosened. Not worn. Fell out. The caliper, no longer attached to the thing it was supposed to be attached to, did what unsecured metal does at highway speed: it went where it wanted, and the wheel followed. We were stranded in Central California with a car that wasn't going anywhere. To their credit -- and I want to be precise about this, because fairness matters even when you're furious -- Weatherford BMW accepted responsibility. They covered the repair. They covered the hotel. They covered meals. They covered the rental car that got us back to Berkeley. They provided a loaner X3 once we arrived. They did not make us fight for any of it, which is worth noting because the instinct of most dealership service departments when confronted with a catastrophic failure is to suggest that perhaps you ran over something, or that the previous shop must have done it, or that these things sometimes just happen, which they do not. Bolts do not fall out of a caliper that was properly torqued. This was a human error -- a potentially fatal one -- and they owned it. I'm giving them two stars instead of one because accountability counts for something. In a world of service departments that gaslight and stonewall and bury you in fine print, the fact that Weatherford stepped up without a protracted battle is *genuinely* worth acknowledging. But a brake job is not a complicated procedure. It is one of the most fundamental services a shop performs. The bolts get torqued to spec. That's the job. Someone didn't do the job, and the consequence was a locked wheel at highway speed minutes after descending a mountain pass in the rain, and my partner and I are sitting here writing this review instead of not writing anything ever again because We. got. lucky. Get your brakes done somewhere else. And if you've recently had brake work done here on a doorbuster service special, you might want to have someone take a look. You know, for safety. read more

I've been servicing my BMW at Weatherford Berkeley for nearly 8 years since it's the most convenient location for me. Over the years, I've had a mix of experiences; some excellent, and others not so much. Shoutout to Fortunato and Anthony who have consistently provided 5-star service. They're professional, communicative, and truly make the process smooth and stress-free. I'm not sure if they're still there. Unfortunately, I've had less positive encounters with other service advisors. For example, when I brought up a recurring issue where my car displays a "passenger restraint system" malfunction alert after it rains, Jorge dismissed it and said it must be because I spilled something on the seat, even though I never eat or drink in my car. That left a bad impression. My most recent visit with Anjela was another disappointing experience. I arrived 20 minutes early, but still waited another 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment time before I had to flag someone down for help. I didn't actually speak with my advisor until 40 minutes after arrival, which made me late for work. No one offered updates, and Anjela blamed the delay on her previous client. I also received a loaner that wasn't comparable to my vehicle, which has happened before. There just didn't seem to be much regard for my time or appointment. My suggestion for the team, especially Anjela would be to proactively communicate delays. Even a quick update goes a long way to reassure customers they haven't been forgotten and that their time is respected. Stay away from their service center. My car wasn't even looked at for the first three days it was there, and the staff was not helpful during that time. I had to call repeatedly just to get basic updates. I also feel I was overcharged for service. The auxiliary battery listed on the BMW parts site is around $700, but I was charged $1,700 just for the part, plus $1,100 in labor. They also charged $250 for a wheel repair on a loaner but never provided any evidence of the supposed damage. The manager said he would investigate and call me back, but I never received a follow-up. Overall, very poor communication and extremely overpriced service. I would not recommend this place. I have had wonderful experience at BMW Concord. Tried this place since it's closer to my place. We recently purchased a new i4 from Weatherford. For various reasons we ended up working with TWO sales consultants who had to sync up with each other in dealing with us. We found both Kevin Thomas and Corey Downer to be very helpful, straightforward, direct, honest and low pressure. They were informative, acknowledged what they did not know (or could not say, for example, commenting on equipping with vehicle for towing). Our price discussions with them were fine--we were helped by end of year pressures on them and also by BMW's offer to extend the EV tax rebate in the form of a purchase price credit. The process of picking up the car was also pretty smooth. We did not like the process of paying for the car. We felt that we were manipulated to some extent over various warranties and service plans available for purchase. We did NOT experience this at all when we purchased a Tesla three years ago---Tesla is an entirely different sort of sales process. That said, we didn't find Weatherford to be any worse than the Mercedes dealers we have worked with in the past. So, overall--if you are interested in buying a a BMW or looking at one, Weatherford is a good place to do it and either Kevin or Corey will help you out. We certainly preferred Weatherford to Concord BMW. We haven't dealt with service yet, thankfully! I am sure it will be expensive and horrible. I have had a terrible time with the Service Department. I brought it in last Tuesday for a recall fix, and the recall letter stated that it was a 30 min - 1 hour fix. When I brought the car in, I was told there was actually 3 active recalls, which would require them keeping it until Thursday. Loaners were unavailable b/c I didn't reserve one (why would I have, for what was supposed to be a 1-hour fix?) I was told Thursday afternoon that my car needed to go to the body shop for the recall, and would be available on Monday. I didn't have an opportunity to decline the fix, and was not offered a loaner. In addition to this, I was told that my car's battery should be replaced, and was quoted $1,121.43 to repair it - $465 for the battery, and $608.41 for labor to "reprogram" the car (something that I have been assured takes no more than 30 minutes). I was quoted $445 to replace the battery at BMW of San Francisco and BMW of Concord, less than what Weatherford BMW wanted to charge me for JUST the battery. Needless to say, I declined the recommended service. I went the weekend without a car, and spoke with my service tech first thing Monday morning to impress that I needed my car back by the end of the day. I got no updates until I checked in again at 1:40 PM, when I was told that the body shop had not gotten to my car, and the vehicle could not be given back because the whole back seat was dismantled. I let her know this would require that I call out of work on Tuesday, and I *could not* do that on Wednesday because of an event I am required to be at. I was then asked if I wanted a loaner, and I said that if it was absolutely impossible to get my car back by EOD Tuesday, that I would need one. It is now Tuesday, a full week after I dropped my car off initially. I did not hear anything from my service tech at 2:00 PM, when she said she would call me. I texted at 2:42 PM to ask if my vehicle would be ready, or if I would need to get a loaner. I was told that the vehicle had returned from the body shop, and it was just a matter of "getting a technician to get around to it." My service tech asked me if I had full coverage insurance required to get a loaner, and I asked for an email to send my proof of insurance directly to them. I then didn't hear from them for 2 hours. Their website stated their service department was open until 6 PM, and I waited until 5 PM to follow up, requesting an email to send my insurance info over to them. I called at 5:30, and the phone tree disconnected me 3 times. I finally was able to speak to someone in Sales, who told me that the Service Department *actually* closes at 5:00 PM. It's been a week. My service tech left me stranded without a way to get to work tomorrow. I just want my car back. read more

Jeremy was very helpful and courteous through the entire process. When it came time to come into the dealership the process to return my old vehicle, even sell another vehicle and then get into our new iX was seamless and efficient. My wife and I test drove the vehicle and then within 2 hours were done with the entire process and off with our new vehicle which we love. Jeremy gave us a great offer and did not waste any time. After visiting Weatherford for 6+ years for repairs and recalls, I am so disappointed to share that they have broken my trust. I brought in my X3 due to a rear seatbelt malfunction. The same thing had happened 4 years ago (different side), and it was replaced for ~$350 including parts and labor. Sucks, but what can ya do. This time, I brought my car in to Angela--signed the papers, handed over my keys, took a Lyft home. Later that day, I was quoted $525 for repairs and a diagnosis that food particles were stuck in the seatbelt. I already knew the diagnosis (that's why I brought it in), but the parts and labor were so much more expensive this time that I said no thank, I'll just pick it up. Cut to an hour ago, where Angela apologizes for not being able to fix my seatbelt but proceeds to charge me for a $325 diagnostic fee. EXCUSE ME? So I need to pay to receive information I already knew... and my seatbelt is still broken? She said "you signed the papers." This is not how things worked last time, and she kept saying she doesn't know what I don't know. I didn't understand the massive gap between my last experience and this one. Angela tried to explain that parts and labor had both increased substantially, but also the mechanics were unable to clear the obstruction. They can't clear a crumb of an extra toasty cheez-it? LOL. Here's the best part. Once I got into my car, the seatbelt worked just fine. MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. Most likely they fixed it upon inspection, and still tried to charge me for a replacement. I cannot in good conscience return to this business. STAY AWAY. I feel betrayed and taken advantage of. A complete scam all around. read more

Picked up a car at Weatherford BMW last weekend. Made an appointment with Glenn. After test driving the car,......came the hardest part.....the negotiation. Glenn told me the price was firm but told me I would get a $500 rebate if I financed the car. I didn't want to finance and pushed him further to lower the price. He pulled the typical car salesman routine and went to speak to his manager TWICE!! After the second time Glenn came back, Chris the sales manager came with him. I worked a deal with Chris. It was a pleasure dealing with him. Since it was the weekend, I was not able to get a cashiers check. Instead, Chris said he would accept my personal check. Bad part was that I didn't bring a check since I didn't think they accepted personal checks. My intention was to put down a deposit and get the car on Monday. Chris asked if I could go home and get a check. It was a two hr drive round trip which I didn't want to do. Glenn offered to drive my new car over, get the check and then Uber back. Chris was okay with Glenn's plan. That's great service!! I would definitely come back to this dealership. If possible, I rather deal with Chris directly and cut out the middleman since every deal requires the sales manager's approval anyways. I worked with Rom who was so helpful during this entire process and what also helped is having tire and wheel protection. I would highly recommend that anyone requiring service for their BMW avoid this place like the plague. I won't go into all the gory details, but over a one month period my car stalled while driving and I had to get towed to Weatherford on 3 separate occasions. The first time they identified an item to be replaced (turbo lines) that caused the issue, but before they were done with that repair they called me on 2 additional occasions to inform me that additional parts also needed to be replaced. Then after the car was returned to me, I immediately got stuck on the road again the next time I took the car out, and they made up a lame excuse that it was due to my weak battery and how sensitive the drivetrain was to changes in voltage...blah blah blah. Then about a week after replacing the battery the 3rd episode occurred and I got stuck on the side of the road again. This time they claimed I needed to replace the fuel pump. All in all, I spent over $4k on "repairs" and I suspect they never really fixed the root of the problem. Which is a shame, because I've been a loyal BMW owner for decades and have purchased multiple vehicles from them over the years. This was my first (and definitely LAST) time coming to this location. I came because I live in downtown and it was much closer. I made an appointment for 10am on Monday morning and was told it would be 24-48 hours max for the diagnostics and that I would be updated along the way. 24 hours passed and i never received a call or text. I text the next day and it was hours before receiving a response. I was then told my car hadn't yet been looked at. I reached out on Wednesday and was informed that it was about to be tested then....48 hours after they've had my car. Hours later, I was notified that a piece needed to be ordered and installed, it would be ready for pickup on Thursday. Low and behold, once again, on Thursday I HAD TO REACH OUT to them for a status update, only to be told the piece was delayed and it would be there Friday. So morning Friday rolls around and I, once again, had to reach out to check the status. All of this to be told, that the issue was NOT fixed. It's not about the issue not being fixed. The issue is with the customer service. If you have promised a 1-2 day turn around, but it ends up being a 5 day turn around, why wouldn't you be apologetic and reach out to the customer? Especially if 3 additional days have been added and the issue has not been fixed. My car was there for 2 days just sitting. That's two days I could've driven to work vs. ubering. What is the point of having an appointment if it's going to take two days to even touch? Also, why would the customer have to keep reaching out. As a customer service representative, it only makes sense for the rep to reach out and keep the customer informed. Especially if the rep states "I will reach out to you around 1:30pm with an update" and an entire 24 hours passes by with no notification of anything. Every contact I have had with Moyses this week has been because I reached out and he responded. Will be going back to the Pleasanton location. They have better auto and customer service. Update: went to pick my car up and it was 1. Smoking 2. Check engine light came on 3. Battery was low. NONE of these things were happening PRIOR to me dropping my car. So they invited me to come back AGAIN for them to check what's wrong & offered me a complimentary detail. They also, ripped the strap on my seat cushion. This place is literally trash. I can say the manager was apologetic, but what can I do with an apology when my car is in worse shape than when I brought it in. I came in because my auxiliary port wasn't working & came out with a not functioning aux port, smoke rising, check engine & low battery.... read more

Ali responded and went above and beyond--providing detailed info and sending a video of the car to me before my visit. When I arrived, Zareen welcomed me and introduced me to Kevin who was just awesome. He was knowledgeable, honest and kind. He truly made the process stress-free and even enjoyable. After purchase, a minor A/C issue came up, and Kevin immediately arranged service and kept me updated. This review is for the sales team side of the dealership. I saw a used 2019 Mazda Miata on the internet and decided to come check it out. Generally I hate going to car dealerships. But the people at Weatherford treated me very well. I just randomly showed up without an appointment and was greeted by the very nice and accommodating front counter staff. The reception counter then directed me to my sales advisor Dina. Who showed me the car in hand. I had already driven this car before so I didn't need a long test drive. There was a good route that we took for the car that included some freeway but of course highway 80 is always a mess so we took the frontage road. Prior to purchasing the car, the car was already pretty clean unlike another dealer in Tracy that let me test drive a car that was pretty filthy. Weatherford seemed pretty top notch. They do give their used cars an inspection, which I never trust anywhere so I had to check the car up myself. But everything was on the up and up. I'm the happy owner of this new/used car. They did have some really nice new BMWs on the lot. The dealership is very clean, modern, and organized. I kind of would like to come back for service but I didn't buy a BMW. I would assume too by Dina's great service and capabilities that any salesperson you see will treat you with respect and understand your needs. I had a pre-booked oil change appointment at 9:00 AM, made three weeks in advance. I showed up on time, but after four hours, nothing had been done. When I asked for an update, I was told they were "backed up due to the holiday." That excuse doesn't fly when appointments are scheduled well in advance. Kashka Clay, the service advisor and his manager, didn't apologize or try to make the situation right. He simply offered to reschedule me after wasting half my day. No accountability, no courtesy, and no respect for my time and money. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. Completely disorganized and dismissive. I will never return, and I highly recommend others avoid this place if you value your time and basic professionalism. I can see why there's a lot of one stars for their service on yelp. read more

Overall I had an excellent experience when recently purchasing a new i4. Glenn was very helpful and patient going above and beyond to accommodate some unique requests. No pressure was put in me other than the usual that one would expect at the end of the year/quarter/month when incentives will be ending, etc. Only turn off during to whole process was the final discussion with the business office before signing in the dotted line when you are being pushed to purchasing extended warranties. I know that for some people these types of plans have value or provide peace of mind, but I have never found that to be the case. When I declined I was made to feel like I was making a grave error that I would later come to regret. I understand that dealerships need to make more and these add-ons are a great source of revenue, but when you are selling BMWs I would hope that it could be done better. I am paying a premium for a premium product, so don't tell me it is gonna break. If I only cared about price I would have bought a Tesla. read more
