Grilled blackened Chicken with grilled onion and serranos

We have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years. We just love it. The food is delicious. The Burrito is excellent as well as the omelets. People are very kind and the service is is fast and friendly. The caffe lattes are magnificent the place is clean. It can get quite busy during the weekend but they work hard to make your experience as enjoyable as possible and the food is worth the line.

Today we stopped by for a quick lunch and there was no wait. We were helped quickly and the staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered the Migas and the breakfast special. The food was okay--nothing out of the ordinary--but I did enjoy the pancakes. There were plenty of open seats, so it felt relaxed and easy to dine in.

As the Duches of Buffalo Grill, I know a thing or two about this place. We frequent this place after church very regularly and I love that they always anticipate the church rush and are always very prepared. Even though the lines get pretty long, they are quick with the service and cleanup. The food is fresh and the prices are somewhat reasonable. I love that. It is a casual breakfast place with exceptional service and quickness. I always offer for the # 14, which comes with a stack of pancake, two eggs, two meats. This is definitely plenty for two people. I ought to make the pancakes blueberry and they are exceptional especially with the fresh butter and hot syrup. It really pairs well with the toasted cinnamon coffee. Definitely give this a try if you're in the area!

A fairly standard fare of breakfast - definitely respectable, nice employees, clean and above-average coffee. Nothing really stands out. The food comes out quickly.

Defintiely a Houston staple ! We love coming here for a casual dining experience with good food. Parking: The lot is a bit small and parking has been a challenge in the past. That being said, we do eventually get a spot and have never left because of this. Service: the staff is always friendly. I've never had someone take my order and note have a positive vibe. It is counter service so you do order at the counter, self serve most of your own drinks, and go get your food when your name is called. Food: The food is solid and the quality is reliable. I've never had a miss here. I do like that they have some reasonable portion sizes too - like the burger isn't overly crazy. We love breakfast or lunch here! Seating: There's indoor and outdoor seating. Most tables are 4 tops.

#2 - Two Eggs Any Style

Been here three times within a year now and unfortunately hasn't been a place that has me coming back. Food can sometimes be overcooked and not tasteful. This time I got the 2 eggs any style. Was never asked how I wanted my eggs and yes my fault for not mentioning but also should have been asked. Hashbrowns were oily and no texture. Service is great and friendly every time I come. But to be cooked from scratch, should have more flavor and stand out more but haven't had that feeling. Last time I ordered a BLT and the bacon crumbled because it was so overcooked. Place has been clean every time I entered. Hopefully they find a way to elevate the kitchen to match the level of service you get from the FOH.

Glorious New York strip and over easy steak and eggs. Always great. Even if it's not on the specials menu, they will still let you order it if you ask!

Ordering at the counter isn't a big deal, but suggesting a 30% tip is a bit much, for not doing anything, except pouring a really bad mimosa. I have no idea what champagne they use, but they had to add too much OJ just to it to make it drinkable. It's served in an oh so elegant plastic cafeteria cup. The condiments were made with everything but the actual product. The egg was good, the hot cake was good, the bacon could've been cooked longer, it was too greasy and limp. The hashbrowns are soggy and grey. Overall, I wouldn't bother going to this place, head across the parking lot to Carraba's.

The guy who is supposed to be taking my order was not wearing a mask. No social distancing cues in the restaurant. I'm out.

The dining room is chic and feels very upscale but comfortable with a large open fire kitchen that was really fun to watch while dining. They were very on top of service with both our dining captain and waiter checking on us throughout the evening. For appetizers we ordered the deviled crabs, tuna tostada and wood roasted carrots. All were great but I especially loved the carrots which were cooked and seasoned perfectly. For my main course I had the chicken and dumplings, husband got the NY strip, our friends shared the whole fish and we had the cabbage and crab rice as sides. Everyone was very happy with both their main courses and the side dishes. We were too stuffed to order dessert but they sent out a s'mores inspired sunday for my birthday which was both thoughtful and sublime. Overall we were very impressed with our meal. Food was delicious but veeeery indulgent. We will be back.

We were greeted by three different people - one that took our drink order, one that cleared our plates, and one that took our order. All were very nice people and gave excellent service! I forgot their names unfortunately. My receipt said Zachary but not sure which waiter that was. Between me and hubs, we had a Pan de campo, an order of Gulf Oysters "casino", (4) dressed oysters, a 16 oz dry aged ribeye, a snapper entree and a side of crab fried rice. We finished almost everything except a quarter of the Pan, about a quarter of the rice, and about a third of the ribeye. All were great dishes and would definitely order again. We skipped dessert because honestly none stood out to us. He said their popular dessert is the souffle but they were sold out. Our total before gratuity was about $250 and that included one cocktail. Hubs had their "classic" old fashioned which he said was excellent! Overall, highly recommended if you don't mind the splurge or for a special occasion!

Eat, Drink, HTX…read more Made a reservation for a Sunday night dinner for three. The restaurant is so cute and cozy with tables and booths. Lots of TVs to watch the Olympic Games while you wait for dinner. I liked watching the open pizza oven. They make a lot of pizzas here. The Eat, Drink, HTX menus are a great way to try new restaurants while giving back to the Houston Food Bank. A starter, an entree and a dessert. $25 for dinner. So many choices on this menu. A great deal while helping out those in need. "Started" with the Turkey Samosas. Four crispy pastries that are filled with seasoned ground turkey, potatoes and parsley served with cucumber yogurt. Delicious! The Ember & Greens Soup that my family had was hot, hot, hot and so tasty. The fresh soup was filled with a blend of spinach, parsley, and cilantro with chickpeas, caramelized onions, pinto beans and quinoa. My FIL polished off his bowl! For dinner, we all had the Blackened Salmon. The salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa served on roasted carrots, broccoli and potatoes and a bed of quinoa. It was a full plate, which we all took home for dinner the next day. Note: it is quite buttery. My FIL had his butter and avocado salsa on the side which worked for him. I loved mine as is. Even though we were pretty full, we still enjoyed dessert. The tiramisu was so indulgent. Loved the layered mascarpone custard, whipped cream, coffee liqueur and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. My FLI had the Chia Seed Pudding with fresh berries. What a great meal. We had a slight hiccup where the appetizers came slightly after the main meal was served, but they were so honest about what happened that I still have to give them five stars for their food and their service. Would try them again for their generous, delicious meals. Lots of parking. Water glasses were frequently filled both with and without meals. Thank you for a really nice Sunday night dinner with family.

It was a beautiful day, so it would have been the perfect day to eat outside if you like that. I'm an eat indoors kind of person, but if you like to eat outside, they do have a few tables for that. I was meeting a friend for lunch and she suggested Ember & Green. We really couldn't decide what to order, so we decided to order a few things and share them. We started off with the Persian Cucumber Sald. It had Persian cucumbers, heirloom cherry tomatoes, red onions, and Kalamata olives with oil and lemon dressing and topped with parsley and feta cheese. Let me tell you, thats lemon dressing was delicious! It went so well with the cucumbers. Next we ordered Blackened salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa, served with charred broccolini, roasted carrots and potatoes on a bed of cilantro green pea quinoa. I'm really not a huge fan of salmon, but I'm trying to like it more by trying it different ways. The spices that they put on the salmon were really good, not too spicy, but also, not bland. It was also cooked perfectly. Oh, and that lemon butter... that lemon butter made the meal if you ask me. It was so good. So good in fact, I had to try and make salmon with lemon butter at him the very next week. Mine didn't come out as good as Ember & Greens, but it was decent. That just means that I need to leave the cooking to the professional. For dessert we decided to share the Skillet Cookie. Its a house made chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with Amy's Mexican Vanilla Ice Cream and chocolate sauce. This was the only thing that we ordered that was a nope. I dont know what happened, but it didn't seem like it was cooked at all in the middle. We took a few bites, that was all we could eat of it. All and all, it was a good experience and I will go back. I'll just skip dessert next time.
