Rotisserie chicken was OK, I've gotten their tacos and about the same. Rice was hard and old, Guacamole costs $1.70 more. Maybe I'll try their made to order burgers next time. I like that they have free flavored water and the dole whip is $4 for as much as you can cram into a cup! The workers are always nice, no employee discount so visitors are getting the same price,and it feels like everything is priced pretty fairly. There is quite a bit of seating both indoors and outside, which is good because most of us are sitting by ourselves. They also have a microwave in case you want to warm up left overs. **December 2025 I've visited Buena Vista Cafe on three occasions, usually when I attend the D23 Jolly Holiday Event in December. At this event attendees have the opportunity to explore the lot and purchase food like employees. This restaurant is setup like a cafeteria and the pricing is very fair. You pick up a tray and whatever you want and pay at the counter to checkout. They have an assortment of hot food, dessert and soda beverages so it really depends on what you're in the mood for. This historic cafeteria on the Burbank Disney Studios lot is for employees to dine at. It opened in 1940. After doing the Walt Disney Studios tour, I was able to come here and grab a bite afterwards. There were several food options to choose from. Buena Vista Cafe offers grill, deli, salad, grab-and-go options and of course Walt Disney's favorite chili. If you're a carnivore, Walt's Chili is the thing to get! Hot and savory, you ladle it yourself out of the pot. Yum. Mage sure to sit within view of the Snow White wall - a beautiful series of paintings of the Dwarves' cottage. My favorite here is the roast beef sandwich, Swiss cheese, tomato, lettuce, red onions on their marbled rye. Don't forget the awesome house-made potato chips!!! My only complaint it that they don't have much in the way of desserts! No froyo or ice cream! They only have a few types of candy bars and cookies. I would've liked a Mickey-shaped ice cream bar! If you don't work on the Walt Disney Studios lots, you have to know someone who does. I was very fortunate that a friend of mine set up a date for me to join her on the lot for lunch at the Commissary (& then shopping after)! This cafe is set up like a cafeteria. There are different stations to grab food from. And then you pay the cashier before finding a table. I definitely had to try the famous Walt's Chili! I ate it the way I ladled it out of the pot. Even though it tasted awesome, I should have added some onions on top! Both Oyster Crackers and Saltines are available to enjoy with your food. I decided to get a Roast Beef Sandwich on Rye. It is piled high with meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes! It comes with homemade chips, similar to the ones I used to get at Disneyland with my Lobster Roll from Harbour Galley! The kettle chips were really crunchy and delicious! I found that the Rye Bread didn't really hold up very well and fell apart. Maybe I'd choose a different bread next time! We sat in front of the print of Snow White's Cottage! So cute! If things worked out to where I could eat here again, I would certainly go! JUST FYI YOU NEED TO BE INVITED TO THE WALT DISNEY STUDIOS TO EAT HERE. You can see and if you come here, taste why the employees at the Walt Disney Studios are all in good spirits. The food is great by Cafe standards. I enjoyed my Agua Fresca and the Taco Salad was fresh, flavorful, and plentiful. The strawberry dessert was great too. No complaints and while I don't remember the exact cost I know it didn't "empty my wallet." Lots of seats and a very professional but upbeat atmosphere in the dining room. This is the new commissary on the lot of Walt Disney Studios. The original landmark commissary was completely nostalgic. I'm sad that it's gone. On the other hand, the new building that houses the Buena Vista Café is larger and possess all the modern conveniences required to serve the growing number of people who work at the studio. The cafe is open Monday through Friday (excluding company holidays) for breakfast at 7AM, lunch and afternoon snacks up to 4PM. This location is run by LifeWorks Restaurant Group. According to their website, "Our chef-run kitchens use the best possible ingredients to create authentic, sustainable and amazingly tasty food we are proud to serve." I like sustainable. Now for the food: You can see from the weekly menu on their website they offer a wide selection of food everyday and at prices you'd expect to pay at any good restaurant. (Since Yelp only permits up to three categories for a business, I chose as best I could to represent the international flavors the prepare.) Today, I fully enjoyed the Grilled Salmon with Cheesy Polenta, Green Beans and Roasted Vegetables -- for $7.69. Not bad at all. Frankly, everything I've ordered here in the past has been at least as good as the food in most any restaurant, excluding my excursions to 5-start restaurants which are clearly in a different league. Although I've never had the need to return something I didn't like the taste of, I expect the management would be happy to make it right. For a made-to-order high-end commissary, and at these prices, this really is as good as it gets. Sadly, because it resides on the studio lot, the public can't just walk in to the Buena Vista Café. But if you ever get the chance to tour the studio or you know someone who works for Disney, you can stop by and check it out for yourself. read more

We came here for a holiday party and definitely considered eating here for dinner. I usually get chicken strips wherever I go but decided to try something different. I ended up ordering a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup. I enjoyed it. The soup wasn't to salty and had a great taste but I got full so quick since I was snacking on cotton candy earlier. My son got the chicken strips and they were good. I'm kinda disappointed I didn't order that too but my food was good too. Hopefully I will get to visit again and try something else from the menu! read more

This cafe is for Walt Disney employes only! Just a warning for the people who aren't aware of that!

First off, this is the commissary for the Walt Disney Studios so unless you know someone you can't actually eat here. Even if you do know someone, I don't know if you really want to eat here. The food is standard studio commissary food. Walt Disney Studios contracts it out to a third party vendor and the quality is noticeably lacking. The flavors of the food and the menu changes daily, but the flavors seem to always be off. The spicy dishes are generally too spicy, while the heavy flavored dishes are almost always lacking flavor. In fact, the only thing that they do really well are the desserts...and maybe the grill. I mean, how can you screw up on the grill. The price is reasonable, but not really affordable on a daily basis. If you would like to visit a Disney commissary, my suggestion is for your friends to take you to Glendale where the Glendale Central Commissary and The Patio are more unique and accurate in their flavor and representation. read more

Most of the existing reviews of the Disney Commissary (BV Cafe) are out-of-date and incorrect, so here is mine. Yes, you have to know someone to gain access to the lot, but if you do, I think you're in for a treat. I feel fortunate to work here and have daily access! It's currently operated by Bon Appetit, a company with a huge emphasis on sustainable sourcing and healthy living. The salad bar has lots of good choices and is refreshed often; the deli will make whatever delicious sandwich you want, including gluten-free bread or grilling. And the rotating Latin and World Cafe dishes are almost always astonishingly excellent! I've had the best sauces here for fish, a rocking Shrimp Louie this summer, pretty great mole, and you can't beat the price or quality of their "made to order" sushi bowls--yom. I'm also in love with their soups--usually four kinds each day, at least one vegan or vegetarian, and always delightful. I had an unusual and amazing Artichoke & Garbanzo Soup last week that I'm still thinking about, and am praying they'll offer the Cream of Spinach again soon--it was so good, I hoarded an extra to-go container-full to eat later. read more

Definitely try Walt's Chili if you're here...This is the same chili recipe that Walt Disney religiously ate every week of his life. There's a lot of ground chuck and nice sized beans with good chunks of tomatoes and celery. I sadly cannot endorse this Café. I recently visited and had a breakfast egg muffin sandwich; not good. The muffin was not really toasted, yet it was hard as a rock in several places. The egg was slightly dried and rubbery. I was really surprised at the low quality, especially for a studio. I work under a Sodexo run food service company and the quality and standards way surpass those that I experienced here! read more
