Great for large portions and feeding the whole family!…read more We grabbed a feast from Big Rig's for my family... and everything was absolutely amazing! Ordering is a breeze. You can't preorder.. to avoid them having to figure out what will sell out and give you perfectly fresh food. We placed a huge order... and it was ready right on time. Bagged, tagged, and ready for easy pickup right on the front counter. We ordered the: - Brisket - moist, pull apart, and perfectly seasoned - Pulled Pork - a little overshredded but packed with flavor to the point that you don't even need to add BBQ sauce - Pineapple Kielbasa - flavorful with full pieces of pineapple inside - Cheddar Jalapeño Kielbasa - just as tasty and not spicy at all - Baby Back Ribs - I was mesmerized how much that they give you for a full rack - it was more than expected - Potato Salad - soft potatoes with small pepper pieces and a flavorful mayo based mix - Coleslaw - a little too vinegary but still a great refresh from the meats - Crispy Brussel Sprouts - still crisp with little pops of heat between the caramelized flavor - Cornbread - without a description of size, we bought a piece for each person - it was 4"x4" pieces of pure bliss Don't forget to order barbecue cups to have your sauce! But I honestly didn't use much as the meats are so flavorful already.

Andy was so great to work with and was always available to answer any and all of my questions. He was so great at communicating leading up to the event and the day of, and was very accommodating as I live in VA and needed a family member to pick up the food for me. Andy explained to my cousin what each sauce was, how to setup the serving racks, etc. We did the three entrees and three sides for 30 people and it was more than enough food. Everyone at the shower couldn't stop talking about how good everything was! We ordered the pulled pork, brisket, and the kielbasa for the main meats and scalloped potatoes and mac n' cheese, as well as a pasta salad for the sides. The mac n' cheese is the best mac n' cheese I've had in quite a while, it was a huge hit! I would definitely recommend all of the dishes we ordered. As I mentioned, we had more than enough food, so we had a little leftover at the end of the shower. The food kept well overnight and we ate the rest for lunch the next day and it was all still just as good. A big thank you to Andy and Pittsburgh Smokehouse for your amazing food and being so helpful in the process! The price cannot be beat for the quality and quantity of food. I will definitely be ordering from here again whenever we have a family get-together in PA!

Their menu listed rattlesnake tails, candied bacon, pork-belly pinwheel, bacon-on-a-stick, bang-bang pork-belly bites, and mac and cheese. I ordered the Bacon on a Stick for $8. An employee served me well. The bacon was about several inches tall and was very thick. Eating the bacon off a stick was a bit of a challenge. When I bit the bacon with my teeth, the bacon immediately slid off the stick. I ended up holding the bacon in my hands. It did taste very good.

So this place is a long-term local favorite... You could totally tell. And not quite sure if people…read morehave become loyal because of location or because of the specials such as prime rib and really great hearty meals... But I can tell you your breakfast was very traditional. Nothing super exotic or trendy. I'm a Southern girl so I was looking forward to getting country fried steak, gravy and eggs... They're country fried steak is a special that's named after the owner or one of its friends or something... And all it is is steak and gravy... Kind of interesting for a breakfast dish. No eggs. And was one of the most expensive meals so adding eggs would have really put it over the top for breakfast. So I elected to go with a variation of hash browns that I'm accustomed to getting the south from waffle House... Scattered, diced which means tomatoes, and covered which means slice of cheese. Although they restrict the ability to buy beer and wine in grocery stores in Pennsylvania, there is no restriction on when you can get a alcoholic beverage like there is in the south... Bloody Mary with breakfast at 9:00 a.m.. there was a long line to wait for a table so my friend who's the local went to the other entrance for the package store and saw there was ample room at the bar so that's where we went. We split an omelette and got some bacon on the side. The bacon was clearly oven baked and extremely crispy and is barely flavorful. The waitress was nice and attentive at the bar. And she had the southern charm of calling us honey and sweetie even though she was younger than us. My friend says she used to come by there often when her kids were younger or for their weekly specials. It's a large restaurant so plenty of tables in the traditional space. And I guess because of not having extra weight stuff they didn't encourage sitting in the bar... We sat at the bar so had the direct attention of the bartender. You can see from the menu there's lots of options for food which is probably why it's such a popular place.

Local Monroeville flavor. Big portions... and just that hometown dive that every town needs!!…read more Being Gateway alumni, there is something nostalgic about Gateway Grill. Circling the small parking lot looking for your spot, reminiscing on the alumni sports team photos on the walls, and doing the twist in the entryway to navigate your way to your takeout, Gateway Grill is not much... but the food is usually fire!!! The pizza slices have big bubbling crusts with pepperoni so rustic cut that you will wonder if they accidentally gave you the whole piece... over and over again. Don't sleep on their meatball pizza. Because you will have basically full size meatballs for every slice... and they are delightful. We had family in and bought a large order - and we opted to try their sandwiches. The Chuck Roast sandwich and Turkey Rachel both sounded delicious... and Gateway Grill does have fresh smoked meats too! Takeout is a trip. In a full restaurant, you have to kinda stand in the way at the front counter and flag down someone to grab your order. But they definitely do a lot of to-go pizzas so you'll be able to handle it. Unfortunately, with their current to-go containers, the sandwiches ended up being sopping wet with condensation... the bottom toasted bread on both was basically dripping instead of crunchy. The fries had lost all texture too- air fryer to the rescue. I'd still recommend going - just stick to only pizza when ordering takeout until they find a way to ensure quality of other options.

I had the steak tips, and my granddaughter had the NY strip steak. Both were cooked exactly the way we'd ordered them. She had fries, and I had mashed potatoes and gravy. The mashed potatoes were so good, and I loved that gravy! My tips were swimming in mushrooms and sauteed onions. No shortage of either. I opted to skip the sour cream. No complaints at all. My granddaughter said she liked her steak better than the steaks she usually gets at Outback. I also got a side salad that was really good. Maybe it was because it had chopped hard boiled eggs on it, which most restaurant salads don't. I don't know, but I ate the entire thing, which I don't often do. I'd forgotten to order the dressing on the side, but it came on the side, so I really appreciated that. Now for the service. The service was top notch, from the person who seated us to our server to the manager. Our server was Jules. Ask for her! She was very friendly and attentive. She seemed to know what we wanted before we asked for it. The manager (forgot to get her name) was attentive, too. She was constantly walking the restaurant and stopping at tables to make sure everyone was pleased with their meals. She came to our table twice, but it wasn't intrusive at all. She was really friendly, too. We left full and happy and will definitely go back.

The grilled mahi sandwich was cooked so well and was so juicy it was dripping on the plate. In the best way. It was fishy but didn't taste as if I put the ocean in my mouth. Not pictured is the chicken quesadilla my friend ordered. She never finishes a meal but could not help to do so today. Street corn is to die for. Amazing. No notes. Great meal.
