So far, the boots have held up quite nicely even when walking into some deep puddles. They've kept my feet dry which is pretty awesome. The premise itself feels dated even though it's not run down. Merchandise also feels densely packed, but then again, it's probably always been like this ever since I was a kid. Come in. Get what you need. And leave with low expectations.

Employees were walking around looking miserable and completely uninterested in helping customers. Even once we finally got someone's attention, it took forever just to have shoes brought out for us to try on. But the most ridiculous part was when we actually tried to make a purchase. The shoes we wanted were marked with a "CLEARANCE" tag, yet when we went to check out, there was no clearance price or discount applied. When I questioned it, I was told they apparently hadn't determined what the clearance discount was yet and could offer me 5% off. If you don't know what the clearance price is, perhaps don't put a clearance tag on the merchandise. Offering 5% off at that point was insulting. We walked out without purchasing anything and I'll never return. This is why online shopping is taking over. These stores do not offer any type of customer service.

I was able to find what I needed without any trouble, and checkout was quick. The downside was that during my visit, not a single employee asked if I needed help or checked in to see if I was finding everything okay. Customer service wasn't unfriendly, it just felt absent. A simple greeting or offer of assistance would have gone a long way. Overall, it was an okay shopping experience, but the lack of customer engagement kept it from being a higher rating.

I showed up to get a Grey Combo pair of LA Gear Rambler Men's Running Shoes and black Denali Aletian men's outdoor shoes. Lo and behold... they had both! My prices were both on the online add as I paid $21.99 and $19.00 respectively for a total of $40.99 plus tax $3.18, grand total $44.17. Instead of $29.99 and $25.99, total $55.98 plus tax (almost $60 grand total). So I saved about $16!!! Thank you Big 5! I scored today!!! I love going to this store for my sporting and footwear needs as I used to be a Big 5 Employee over 30 years ago . By the way, PROPS to the shoehelper guy and the cashier lady Cara! Both great customer service!!! Highly recommend!

Plenty of parking at its surrounding area. First time here. I didn't know what to expect. It's basically a store with a great assortment of clothing, shoes, and other merchandises at discounted prices. Huge interior space. Very clean and bright. Organized racks and shelves. I saw some big brands such as Nike, Adidas, Under Armour and more. I was informed they add new arrivals and markdowns items throughout the month. It's good to check back often for the newest savings. Wow, I was impressed with the massive inventory of goods! The only downside is the limited availability of various sizes. I saw some nice Nike sweaters, but they were all small. I need a large. Towards the end of my visit, I did buy a couple comfy beach blankets at very reasonable prices. Love the design and its softness! I plan to use one blanket at a festival and maybe gift the other one to my friend. Staff was really nice and friendly. Service was great. I'll sure to be back to catch their off season merch. I told the lady at the register and she looked at me like I did it. She then proceeded to open the box and sure enough, the strings were damaged. I told her I purchased the tent a week ago and I was able to find some time to set it up when I noticed it was damaged. She then rudely told me that their equipment should be new and it's not possible for it to be damaged. I argued with her and told her that I thought it was brand new but i guess it wasn't. It was in it's original packaging.. Finally, she accepted it as an exchange and told me to grab another one. She said if it happens again, I'm going to have to take it up with the manufacturer... Really?? It's not my fault it was broken.. I then grabbed a "new" one and she asked if I'd like to check it before checking out. I said okay, I checked over the sticks and it looks fine. I told her what about the tent, what if there is a hole. She told me I can open it up in the store but there was no room to do that.. so I told her that I'll just set it up today at home and if it's not good I'll bring it back. She then proceeded to do the exchange then told me it was going to be $17.99.. wait.. I'm exchanging.. why do I need to pay. She said initially it was purchased with a coupon.. I said okay... So use the same coupon.. she then said she didn't have a coupon, so she made me look for the same coupon.. I found one on their website and luckily it worked and covered the $17.99.. I got out of there and was pretty upset. What was supposed to be an easy exchange turned into an argument and her accusing me of damaging their product... Not coming back to this store..

I certainly do think they could have greeted me when I walked in, manager looked right past me. Also 2 cashiers were working and no one was paying attention as I waited in line.
