Buddies Spa! Officially my favorite spa ever! It's in downtown DC in such a nice area! When I walked in, the receptionist instantly knew who I was, greeted me, and asked if I wanted water. The guys getting mani-pedis were all happy and smiley, and it was a whole kiki fest in that room at 10:30am! (Kiki meaning a fun, safe social gathering.) So Martin was there waiting for me and walked me to the room for my booty facial. Martin looks like Troye Sivan--so cute! He broke down what a butt facial is, and we had the greatest talk ever about life, DC, the clubs, the bars, and the whole experience. Like... I was upset when it was over. My booty has never felt so rejuvenated! Martin is that girl. Love him! Next up was my Lomi Lomi massage with Sohaib! I've gotten plenty of massages in the past, but I wanted to try something different. Let me begin by saying he is SO FINE I mean... look at that million-dollar smile! He's so warm and comforting. He carried my clothes to the room after my facial--so sweet of him. Once we got to the room, he informed me that I need to get naked and I said ok let's do this! and when the massage started... omg. This continuous, nonstop Lomi Lomi massage was by far the best massage ever! Truly unreal relaxation. It was like he was dancing. When it was over, he gave me a super nice hug and walked me downstairs. They were both downstairs, and that's when I got a picture with them! I don't live in DC, but I will 100% be back. The amount of happiness and safety embedded in this spa is unreal! Most spas cater to women, which is fine. However, this spa caters to EVERYONE! 10/10 perfection from start to finish. read more

I genuinely think I just had one of the best pedicures of my entire life. Buddies has a phenomenal business and they're offering an incredible experience -- but before I even get into the pedicure itself, I have to talk about the atmosphere. It is so inclusive, welcoming, and upbeat. I don't think there was a single person in the room who wasn't laughing or smiling. The customers and employees were all so kind, accommodating, and genuinely joyful. It was honestly refreshing. Also: small little secret... they have a full bar upstairs. Not just champagne or wine -- actual cocktails. I had whiskey during my pedicure and it was amazing. Now the pedicure: I got the Luxurious Pedicure package (their highest level), and it was completely worth it. The amount of treatments you get is impressive, but what really stood out was the massage work. They didn't just focus on legs/shins/calves -- they really spent time on the bottom of my foot. They even used heated stones on the bottoms of my feet, and it was unreal. David did a phenomenal job on my cats eye nails too! I love them! If I could give them a million stars, I would. Incredible experience, and I'll absolutely be coming back. I'll be recommending Buddies to anyone and everyone -- and I'm already planning to bring friends. read more

I was recommended this spa on my trip to DC and it was a great experience! Jessie was very polite and cordial with me and listened to my needs. I enjoyed chatting with him and the service that I got was fullfilled. I got a deep tissue massage for my back pain and communicated my needs with him. He was able to focus on my lumbar region and help alleviate the soreness. I am aware some of the other reviews may suggest malicious intent about the place, but it is a queer owned massage parlour and spa, so justbe aware of that before you enter the establishment. I would go back here again and recommend it to other LGBTQ+ friendly friends and clients. read more

Love this place so much! I live near by, and they always have great appointment times available. The mani and pedi spa options are incredible and unique. They even paired my relaxation with a nice glass of wine my first visit. Today I got an express mani and pedi. Mina and Nina are very professional and great. They offer massages and haircuts as well. I'm giving a 1 star because while the massage was decent there were major issues and ones that could easily cause a lawsuit. I realized that "buddies" is a different kind of busyine ss when the male therapists body brushed over mine and I realized he had changed from having a full massage therapists outfit on to *JUST HIS UND---JOCKSTRAP* hope about just shorts? A jockstrap?? Thats so wild. Also. Jessie? Jesse? He is the one who did this. He also is "super strong" yes we get it you're a body builder bro. Yes I'm git. Yes I asked for deep tissue. Regardless of what you think deep tissue is even if you're "super strong" you need to listen to your customer. I asked for deep tissue. Then I said this is too hard. Then he said ok. He didn't change. I said this is still too hard. He said I can really only do hard. Later I assume he meant something different (aghhh), but he Later when I told a friend he told me buddies has their own X/Twitter account where they post XXX videos of some clients getting waxed. I hope they know and those aren't "spy" videos. Also not sure if my massage was filmed. Don't tell me "we don't do that without the customers consent" because your therapist certainly strips down to his **JOCKSTRAP** without the customers consent (also, wtf!!). How is this legal?? Be ware of buddies, unless you've got some extra money to sue them. 0/5 stars. P.s. the walls upstairs are lined with nude men paintings and such. read more

Okay so I was really bad about taking photos on my visit but I snagged one. I'm really glad to have such a quality, affordable option for all my salon and spa needs. On this visit I only got my haircut but I'm excited to go back and try out some of their other services. Josue was my barber and he did such an amazing job. I wasn't too sure what cut I wanted but he helped provide some suggestions and guided me along the way. Loved the way it turned out and he was so nice. Had a fantastic massage here a few weeks ago with Jessie. He is very strong, and that's a good thing. I have some knots in my upper back and shoulders, and he spent a good bit of time working those out. I have used many of the services at Buddies. Josue is probably the best barber/hairstylist that has ever done my hair. The first time got so many compliments it really made me notice. Then I started recommending him to my friends and they too were saying how many people complimented them on their hair after it was cut - way more than usual. So I will keep recommending. Kris was done waxing for me and is by far the best in the business. He is quick and efficient and makes you feel comfortable. Mina did both a pedicure and manicure for me and I was extremely happy with the results.
