Got the food to go. They did have a few picnic tables outside. It's a cute little place with things to see in every nook and cranny. The staff was friendly. You order your food and drink then go sit on the train. The burgers, fries, and onion rings were all delicious. Most of the burgers came home from all the food we got.

Oh wow what an impressive place! We ate here on the way to PA & it didn't disappoint! The burger my friend got was HUGE, I got the coney dog & it was so good. They all come with fresh homemade fries. Service was phenomenal, ambience was just really neat! I'll definitely be back! And I'll bring my family - the grands would love it!

Just ate here for lunch today. It's definitely a cool Experience. All kinds of Buckeye stuff throughout train. We had the pizza burger with fries and side of onion rings. The pizza burger and onion rings were great. They tasted hot and good. The fries were soggy and not crisp. The service we had was great.

Neat place. The food is really good. Large portions. My husband and I could have split an item. People very friendly and attentive. Our waitress was amazing. Recommend.

Food is good! Family friendly and good service. A little pricy but it's quality and a lot of fries with the burgers and sandwiches. Thick fried bologna, fresh handmade chicken salad, and fresh hand pressed burgers are the way they do it here. Awesome train conversion to a diner adorned with football memorabilia throughout. Most The Ohio State University, but also Ohio U Bobcats, and Cleveland Browns represented. It's like someone needed a place to store their collection and decided to open an awesome train restaurant to put it in. Outside is a play zone and all kinds of old west scenes surrounding the area. Captivated by the layout and decor, but don't touch display items. Absolutely worth checking out. Only issue right now is figuring how to get up there. Take the first road to the left of the building that look like a non paved construction access road up the hill. Can't wait to pass through again to try something else on the menu!

Awesome Diner in a train car with a great view. The patty melt was delicious and the French fries amazing! Service was friendly. You place your order then find a seat and a server brings your food. Lots of OSU paraphernalia all over! Hubby ordered a hamburger with special sauce and really enjoyed it.

This place stays busy! The food was excellent. I had the 4 cheese grilled cheese and it was SO cheesy and delicious! The fries are hand cut and were really good. They have outside picnic tables and a kids area to play in. This is a must stop!!!

The food was decent but the service wasn't great. The condition of the restaurant is also not great.

We stopped by on an afternoon drive and we're surprised by the quality of the food. We also enjoyed the old train ambiance.

Which turned out great, because she said the chef doing the steaks was really good, and she was right. I have very exacting preferences for steak done-ness, and this one was absolutely perfect. The Cajun seasoning and mushrooms & onions were a tasty garnish, and I subbed out the garlic mashed potatoes for the 4-cheese mac & cheese with bacon -- a winner again, rich and savory. The national chain nature of the restaurant means the beer selection is pretty lame, but the drafts are cold. The not so good parts? The host was on his phone in the waiting area when I walked in, and he didn't glance up as he yelled "How many?" When he asked me if I wanted a table or a booth, it felt like a challenge, and his "Follow me" was more like an order from a guard than an invitation, but fine. I wouldn't mention it but for the fact that the general manager visited my table as I was dining to ask if my steak was done right. I told him it was perfect, and he said thank you and left. No conversation, no interest in details, just a quick yes/no survey. I've heard that some restaurant chains have a "table touch" policy that requires managers to visit patrons' tables and ask about the experience. If this was an example, it was a bad one, because it couldn't have been more clear that this manager wanted to be doing pretty much anything else than this job. Last grouchy note: tableside devices to pay the check are fine, but when they double as distractions, entertainment devices (doesn't everyone carry one already?), and ways to avoid human contact -- that's a line I wish they would refuse to cross. End of rant.

We told the person in charge of seating that our party was running behind however, they set us anyway. Then shortly after seating us, they told us that they shouldn't have seated us because our party is not there yet. One waitress took our drink order then 10 minutes later another waitress told us that she would be taking over our table from the previous waitress. Once we were all seated, my father-in-law tried to order his campfire Grill and was told that they are out of the campfire grill and he could not order it even though there were still flyers on every table advertising the campfire grill. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich and after everyone was served, she got chicken strips instead of her sandwich and sent them back. She did not get her sandwich for at least 20 minutes when everyone was done eating. The waitress apologized for the issue and gave her a three dollar dessert item to compensate her for not having her dinner with the rest of us. Very poor Service lackluster food. This is a Cracker Barrel. You should keep driving past.

It took 24 minutes to be served a single cheeseburger and fries, apparently to allow them time to grow cold first. The staff were spectacularly apathetic, as though they were staging a slowdown strike. It's not as though they were busy, either. I was one of six tables, two of whom had been served before I arrived. Service this slow and inefficient is truly remarkable. I will say the milkshake was tasty, and because of the well insulated cup, it had not melted by the time I was served my food. That was the only bright spot in this experience. It's a shame when a once very good restaurant chain falls on hard times, but Steak N Shake isn't the first, and surely won't be the last.
